Another helpful experience at with my local pharmacy. I went in there today to get both my covid-19 and flu shots. As usual, I was greeted by my all time favorite pharmacist, Briana. Often times when she sees me in line, she'll put down all the things that she is currently doing, and come out from the back to give me personal attention. She does this at times even when there is already a tech at the counter taking care of customers who are also in line or at the counter. She has never failed to answer any of my questions or concerns and just so personable! A pleasure to know! COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. Some of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is open and available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was here in this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment could be bigger. They need an underground parking structure. I always hate trying to circle for a parking spot whenever I come here because they share the lot with several other establishments. Staff: The staff here are very kind, friendly, and helpful. This CVS is in the Trader Joe's plaza on San Gabriel Blvd and Huntington Dr. This is the second time that I had it gone inside but it's been so long that I forgot that I have been here before. Luckily since it was late at night there was a parking typically I try to avoid this plaza since it's so popular. Everything is very organized but feels a little bit more cramped since they're not working with much space since TJ's takes over most of the space on their end. I feel like in the past they were more spaced out here when they first opened but maybe I'm wrong. The feeling I had today when I walked in was wow they're not that big here. It helps that each section is labeled by the description so it's easy to find what you're looking for. All the registers are up in front. The pharmacy is way in the back. Everything is standard and nothing to complain about. They have self check out registers at the front of the store for purchases which makes it easier for those that are able to navigate the machines. Overall, not my first choice of CVS locations but if you happen to be buying groceries or getting food in the other end of the plaza it's a convenient place. read more

Whoever designed and striped the parking lot (which is shared with a Trader Joe's), should be fired. Ridiculously congested lot as it's one-way throughout. Store itself is cluttered and quite filthy with debris everywhere and boxes and inventory sitting in the aisles. This could be a liability issue as it creates trip hazards. They obviously don't own a vacuum. The pharmacy workers are very polite and adept, but the store itself seems mis-managed. read more

Today was the worst customer service experience I ever had at a CVS. I was shocked! There's never anyone standing behind checkout counters, but I've never let that be an issue. Sure, it's annoying when you can't find assistance and risk losing your place on the queue. It's routinely understaffed. But that's not even my issue today. As usual, nobody was behind the counter, people were waiting, trying to ring the bell for service, nothing changed. So we waited and waited. And finally, a very visibly frazzled woman (manager) came up and brought a guy along. He began waiting on the customers whilst she attempted to, seemingly, be tending a register. Every customer was gracious and patient, including myself. It is what it is. I don't get stressed about things like this. When it was my turn, I went to the resister where the manager was so I could let the person behind me go to the guy. Before I could even say hello, she snapped at me "I am busy trying to fix this I can't help you right now!" And the guy said "everyone just needs to slow down," as if we'd all been acting as stressed as manager. He offered me no eye contact, no smile, and when I asked how to bypass putting in my pin, he looked at me as if I were an idiot and condescendingly told me what to press. Then, after his "service," I said thank you, a habit I was taught since childhood, and he didn't even reply. So I said it again, and he completely ignored me. And I was standing right in front of him. Definitely loud enough. After I purchased my nail polish, I went to Trader Joe's, and the polish slipped from my hand and spilt all over the floor. Of course, TJ's attendant was beyond kind. I thought about going back into the store to get another, but I was so put off by my experience there that myself and other TJ employees began googling the nearest store where I could buy polish. I'm on foot, and had my little dog and all my groceries (perishables) and walked 30 minutes out of my way rather than go next door! *That is how appallingly nasty the staff treated people. Today, my father and I went there for our covid shots. My father erroneously made our appointments at two different stores. Pharmacy Manager Tod was kind and helpful. He called another store and explained to them our situation. The other store agreed to accommodate us. After my father got his shot and we immediately drove to the other store where I got mine. As an Asian customer, I was first in line to pick up my UPS package, which was marked as delivered and received by someone named Christine. Upon arrival, the receptionist ignored me and served the person second in line with endearing terms. When I intervened, she was impatient and couldn't find my package, despite showing my ID and tracking number. She dismissed me with laughter, claiming UPS often makes mistakes. She was starting to roll down the screen & she said NO! My head hurts, I feel awful and I have to deal with horrible customer service! This location has been one of my favorite and go-to CVS locations in SGV! This place has been around for a few months so it's still particularly new. Right when I walked in, I instantly noticed how much more organized the shelves were compared to some of the other locations in the area. It also has this "new store" kind of smell, which is subtly pleasant. I've picked up my prescriptions here before and the lines were never long nor did I have to wait a long time. There's always staff members walking around, asking if you need help looking for anything. I've also ordered photos here many times and they were always ready once I arrived. In terms of their offerings, it's also pretty much the same compared to other locations but I do really admire the layout of this location just because I feel like things are a lot easier to find. The only downside is parking as this CVS does share parking with Trader Joe's, Half & Half Tea house, Bmans and Starbucks. Parking gets a little bit tricky here because you can only drive one way or in a certain direction (you have to actually go there to see what I mean). It can become a hassle when it's during prime time shopping hours as there will be some drivers who are confused on where to go from time to time. Other than that, I know that I will be visiting my go-to CVS location very soon! read more

I sent my 16 year to purchase toothpaste as I looked for parking and instead of toothpaste he got got toothpicks. I sent him back in to exchange it and they were declined to do so because he doesn't have a California ID and it has not been 24 hrs since purchase. He had his school ID and had just made the purchase minutes before the workers had seen him. The worker was complaining about an elderly lady who needed change for a large bill and that he needed his break. My son ended up leaving without getting his refund. Horrible customer service from a group of individuals that have 0 communication. I called ahead for the COVID booster and confirmed with the female associate that they had it in stock and that I can get it today as a walk-in. Associate says yes as long a we're here by 6:30PM. Get here 6:00PM and she spends 15-20 mins asking questions and inputting my information. She leaves to talk to the pharmacist just to tell us that I can't get the shot and that they stop giving it around 6:00PM. Female associate reiterates what the pharmacist said and I told her I called ahead and confirmed. She just shrugs. Terrible customer service!! I stopped at this CVS after my Trader Joe's shopping because of convenience purposes, thinking I could walk in and grab the one item quickly and head out. But nope, I was wrong. There was a long line due to only one person being behind the registers, but the worst thing about this experience was the lack of customer care! The only person there had NO quality customer service and didn't even bother to communicate with us about the long wait or even acknowledge us in any way! So I decided to use the self check out and it turned out that my item needed assistance and so the register said "hold on someone will be right with you" NOPE! no one came and nobody acknowledged it!! I came in to fill a few Rx's because it was close by my doctors. My insurance didn't cover one of them. So the pharmacist had to work with my doctor to get it approved. After approval it was $50!!! The pharmacist went out of her way to get a coupon offer for free for the first month. I really appreciate this. I have spent enough money on my medical care in the last year ( 2017 ) that I would have not filled this RX at $50. read more

Favorite pharmacy because the women who work here are so EXCEPTIONAL! Always kind, thorough & professional. Besides the parking lot which they share with Trader Joe's, this place is never crowded so getting the time & attention needed when filling prescriptions is priceless. Love the new CAREPASS program ... for $5 a month free RX deliveries to the house & everything can be managed on line. I even get 10 Care Bucks = $10 to spend every month on whatever I want so it practically pays for itself. Two hands all the way up for this CVS that is a breath of fresh air!!! read more

The workers here are so nice! Especially Demetrio! When there was a price mix up he didn't charge extra and had a very pleasant attitude. I never thought I would write a yelp review about a CVS but the service was really good and even though I live in Monrovia, I would likely visit this CVS instead of the one by my house (when I'm in the area) because the nice service truly surprised me. I go to CVS at least once every 2-3 weeks to get photos/snacks and this one just had very pleasant service. One star because the CVS store itself is clean and well-lit. Zero stars for the pharmacy. I tried to pick up my prescription one day earlier than the scheduled refill date since I was going out of town and wanted to get everything in order early so I wasn't rushing around the next day trying to pack and running any last minute errands. I tried on Friday to submit a refill via the CVS app but got no response from the store that my script is ready. Two days later, Sunday, I come in to ask if I could pick up the script. The technician on staff couldn't help me so she asked the pharmacist to help out after explaining my situation. The pharmacist asked, where are you going? I said out of the country. Obviously there is no CVS nearby to fill my prescription. Also, side note, if you try to fill your script outside your normal state your insurance still may not cover it so you may have to pay cash and submit a reimbursement form. Anyways, so the pharmacist goes on to explain that since my insurance only authorizes a refill the next day, tomorrow, I could not refill my script today. Of course she also mentioned that yes, insurance companies would usually authorize an early refill for travel but since I'm leaving the day after the pre-authorized refill date, I would be denied the request for an early refill ONE day early. She and the tech offered no sympathy, no apology for the inconvenience, no solution. Even just offering to run the medication through as cash would have been appreciated. But nope. Nothing. She basically refused to do anything. This is also not the first time the pharmacy department has been horrible. Another time I tried to get a new script filled and called the pharmacy after 2 WEEKS, I get a response that, we "tried" to contact you. But they didn't because there was no telephone message nor email during those two weeks. I find it very, very hard believe that they truly made an effort to contact me. At that time I was annoyed. This time I was furious. I work in healthcare and I have friends who work as nurses, physicians and pharmacists. I know how difficult insurance can be but I also know when people are refusing to help me because they feel putout. This pharmacist and technician working today probably felt l was interrupting their easy Sunday workday. And by the way, I've paid cash for my medication and it's less than $15 since it's generic.
