Well, I'm up here for my teeth cleaning at my dentist up on Lake Avenue right and across the Macy's. You know, the historic FRANK LLOYD RIGHT styled structure.. upon my completion I endeavored to pick up extra masks at either CVS or WALGREENS or even RITE AID. Well, I initially tried WALGREENS adjacent to my dental office. But sadly I was informed that WALGREENS is not participating in the national distribution. So I thanked the crabby mgr. I headed up towards rite aid and was greeted with warmth and friendliness. Lol heck, a random employee that was moping up something on the floor, greeted me and walked me over to where they were handing out the face masks out. Far superior service here at RITE AID as opposed to WALGREENS. read more

Reviewing strictly for their COVID-19 testing. I wasn't feeling 100% and decided to schedule a COVID test just in case (FYI: it came back negative). I was able to make an appointment online via the LA County website (https://covid19.lacounty.gov/testing-sites-list/) for this location, conveniently only five minutes from my house. I received an email confirmation and then a reminder the morning of the test. I pulled into their pharmacy drive through and a staff member checked my info and walked me through how to administer the test myself. They have the nose swab test which I wouldn't say was comfortable, but not necessarily painful either. I did the test myself in my car, gave it back through the drive through, and was on my way in less than five minutes. It took almost five days for results to come back via email--short in the scheme of things and with how much testing they have going on, but long considering that you really shouldn't be going anywhere while waiting for your test results to come back. All in all this was a fast, free, painless process and I'm thankful for the access we Angelenos have to COVID testing. read more

Review of COVID testing here. If i would have paid close attention to info that rite aid sent to me about the corona testing here i might have approached this test site with a different mind set and point of view. my minds eye had set up a scenario of 50's style nurses and doctors dressed in super white, starchy hospital drag with scalpels and stethoscopes hanging from their necks waiting for me. waiting for me to mess up a relatively simple test. Also: as it is shown on TV in many other test venues, there were no long lines of cars stretching onto Colorado Blvd with waiting drivers honking and cussing out anyone who dared to butt in line. In reality there was almost no one here and the test was administered by the women in the drive thru prescription pick up booth who talked me through the test as in the nasal probe and the test tube of stuff in which i was to place the nose probe after i stuck it up my 2 nostrils. This probing caused me to cough and sneeze: something that no one wants any part of and so before this occured i was instructed to close my car window. smart move. This testing here is so cool and calm that i almost thought i was in the wrong place at the wrong time. But they had my name. they had my info and so once i landed at the pick up booth i could not flee. So i followed the instructions, shut my mouth and did the test: looking to the rite aider to give me the head bob meaning i was doing it right. Once i passed over the test tube with the snot enriched probe i was told that the results would be via email and it would take 2-7 days. And therein lies my issues. Honestly i do not have any symptoms but was able to schedule because of my age. i went back and forth and rescheduled this appt several times because a poz in say 5 days means i could be spreading the virus in those 5 days. BUT: i have been quarantined since March so this is not likely. But many people have not. Those know nothings (or more to the point, denyers) who feel they do not have to wear masks or follow social distancing. These are the people that will keep US as in the general public from getting back to living as we did just this last March. (yes, i am starting this again!) California has a Mask must be worn mandate but i have never witnessed any cop enforcing this. i have enforced it and gotten into major physical as well as vocal altercations. My sister tells me that i probably will not succumb to COVD but instead fall to a hot head who will shoot me. One ding bat said to me: "I'm Ok with it." (not wearing a mask) Oh yeah dude but we are NOT! Positive testing situation here at Rite Aid administered by good, caring and concerned people. read more

Lovely, clean location; however, this is the worst pharmacy I have ever used. If you need a prescription within a few days, go elsewhere. Each time it takes days to fill, there is some type of problem there. This last round I was suffering and needed medicine FAST and they were the closest. After explaining my previous struggles, they said 1 to 2 hours on Sunday, went didn't havev. Just got a text on WEDNESDAY that it's ready. This is how it ALWAYS is, zero sense of urgency or care that medicine might be needed in under 4 days, no communication to set expectations THE WORST. Horrible customer service, complete lack of empathy for customers, nasty on the telephone. Assured me that a prescription would be ready to pick up in one hour. 2 hours later I visited the pharmacy and was told that they did not even have the medication in stock or available for 24 hours. No apology or customer service whatsoever. There are many other pharmacies to use, I'd strongly suggest you use any one rather than this pharmacy. read more

This is my favorite Rite Aid ever. No really. I like the greeting cards selection at this store, and shop here for greeting cards often. It's my go-to place. I also like shopping in the seasonal aisle to see if anything is on sale that catches my eye. The store always has the cold/flu products that I'm looking for when I'm not feeling 100%. I also like using the Amazon lockers in the back right corner of the store to have shipments delivered to when I'm not going to be home, so that my package is safe, and not open season for porch pirates. read more

I pretty much do all my pharmaceutical needs at this location. I went here two days in a row, the previous day, I went to get a couple of gift cards and Christmas cards. I found out that I get 20% off of items since I'm considered a GOLD member. The following day I actually needed a battery for my car key fob. They actually had the slot for the one I needed but they were out of stock. There is another location on the east side of Pasadena, so I headed that way. read more

These Rite Aid places are a trip to another planet. Each one has its different characteristics but they all seem just a jumble of stuff. We only went in here to justify parking in their lot so we could go to the theater across the street. But we ended up spending $100+. They have very large boxes of kleenex with cool patterns, so I like those, and then all the regular stuff that any drug store has. I can't put my finger on it, but the store is just not attractive, nothing is spent on upgrading the style of the place. That's it: the style. They just have no style. But good kleenex. read more

The Rite Aid in Pasadena is a nice and clean inside. Isles are very organized. The store overall is clean and organized. Staff is very friendly and nice. Pharmacists are very helpful with any questions and concerns, they are also friendly too. Now Rite Aid is know for their classic, "Thrifty Ice Cream"! Whether you are happy, sad, alone or with a group come on down and get a scoop of Thrifty Ice Cream! It's cheap ($1.99 a scoop) and it taste good. Some workers here give good heaping scoops! Yummy! Nostalgic and good ice cream option. I would have to admit that rite aids are being a little analog in a digital world. If it wasnt for the nostalgic feeling of going to the thrifty ice cream area and reminiscing about the good times eating those fairly inexpensive ice creams i would probably dismiss this place as a more expensive Walgreens. After seeing the value for different flavored ice creams at $1.99 it made me wonder how do they fair against a mcdonalds. I suppose if you want plane sundae vanilla with fudge then thats where you would go compared to an ice cream. I think rite aid needs to market them selves more to keep up in this ever growing digital age. Yesterday afternoon which is July 29,2014 around 3:10pm I went here at rite in pasadena. I had the best costumer service that I experienced. Right when I walked in I saw a cashier name Sarah. I went here because I needed a medication and some other stuff. I was rushing so right away I asked Sarah for a help she was really nice, and piloted. When I asked her what I needed she literally and specifically told me where I can find it. I feel bad because I kinda give her attitude but she was still nice to me. Needed a zpack pronto and wasn't in my hood, had complications at a Walgreens and came here since my home pharmacy is a Rite Aid and I figured my info would be in their system (it is!). Excellent service in the pharmacy and they were able to get my Rx to me within minutes of them closing. They were out of another Rx the doc had ordered but had it in the system and ready for me to pick up at any other Rite Aid. Great service! This review is about their free COVID testing. I signed up online, inputted my insurance information, and answered a short questionnaire about whether or not you have symptoms, been exposed, or work in a high-risk facility. If you do plan on getting tested here, check for appointments regularly online since they do fill up quick and add appointments at random times! Drove up to the pharmacy window with little wait (2 cars ahead of me). The pharmacist guided me on how to swab my nose. It didn't hurt, it just felt really sensitive and made me tear up, lol. I was in and out of there within 5 to 10 minutes. I recieved my results 3 days after via email. Very smooth and easy process! read more

Its good to know this place is so close to my work. In the summertime me and my coworkers like to walk here after lunch and ice cream. You cannot beat the prices compared to Baskins. Although the flavors may be different its better than nothing. Customer service is great and very attentive (maybe because its not busy) But on busy days they should consider more employees. read more

I'm a first time Yelp contributor but avid user. I am writing because I am rather shocked and disappointed that this Rite Aid has unjustifiably received such negative reviews and such a low rating. I have been going to this particular Rite Aid for 11 years despite several pharmacies that are MUCH closer to my home. The reason is that I have never in my life had such incredible service, by such an amazing team of people anywhere else, ever. Every single person I've dealt with there has been extremely professional and proactive. They've promptly followed up with my doctors as promised and have done whatever is in their power to help me when asked. Though the entire team is worthy of individual praise, I have to mention one person in particular who's gone above and beyond. Rosalin Khuu is an utter pleasure. She makes going to the pharmacy a pleasure, not a chore. I actually look forward to it. I can't say enough about her and if she ever reads this, I'd like to thank her for all of her help over the years. I came here for my covid booster shot appointment and had to wait 20 minutes after my appointment time to get it. Two people ahead of me went in and then nobody else got called. I had to ask the pharmacist why I was waiting. Two minutes later I got called in for a shot that took 10 seconds. Rite Aide sent me at least 6 reminders for my appointment and yet they totally ignored me once i checked in. They weren't even busy, which I can understand. Is it because I am a senior citizen? Once you waltz pass the people camped out front ostensibly asking for donations from their questionable charities, you're pretty much in the clear. This location has come along way to attempt to make what was previously a glacial line move fast. Hey, it's not their fault there's always some shady person demanding that they honor their expired coupons or paying entirely with pennies, cotton lint, and sheer force of will. I do find the whole compulsory "Welcome to Rite Aid!" a bit annoying, but they've changed the layout and the way the lines work, so that's more important. Evenings are staffed by a particularly aggressive clerk who, in her attempt to promote efficiency, bears an uncanny resemblance to a gunnery sergeant or perhaps a demanding coach from a former Eastern block Olympic gymnastics team. So, I came here to visit the pharmacy after fracturing my foot. First of all, you never realize how far the pharmacy is until you only have one functional foot to walk on. It's far, guys. I LOVE THEIR PHARMACY!!! My family and I recently switched from Target to Rite Aid without any expectations and boy have I've been pleasantly surprised. Not only is the wait much faster but the pharmacist on staff is actually available and happy to give you a consultation before you leave with your drugs. This has been awesome since Target pharmacy techs are always rushing you away. Rite Aid even calls your cell the moment your prescription is ready! I have two children and it's the season for cold & allergies so quick service + helpful staff is always a good thing :-). You can either look around store or run down to Europane for a coffee. As for their staff, they all seem very friendly - Lionel in particular, he is "old school" which is a precious thing during these rushed times. He always takes a moment to acknowledge something about you and treats you like a regular in a small town while working in a big city like Pasadena. He makes my baby smile every time. The ONLY annoying thing is that the management forces it's staff to mindlessly blurt out "welcome to rite aid" every time someone walks in the door, I feel so sorry for the workers and it's so rude when they blurt it out while they are ringing you up. Yes there is usually someone asking for money for one cause or the other but I usually just pass them up. You also get outlet usual local homeless people, mainly a very sweet but very intoxicated Lisa. It's not rite aid's fault but I can see where some may complain. It's just sad when I see her but I say hi to her, because she's a person just like me, worthy of acknowledgment. I will buy her water if it's hot. I used to work nearby, so I haven't been to this one in year. Was in the area to have dinner with a former coworker and stepped in to grab something. Oi...should have known better! 3 lanes opened...and one lady bouncing around on each of them--what the? Uh, where are any other associates to run the cash register? On top of that, she was also responsible for attending the ice cream counter. Poor thing kept calling for back up to no avail. That is ridiculous. I commend the girl for holding the fort down, but with the line racking up frustrated people, she was at a lost. Still a bunch of bums and charities people bugging you to give your spare change. I prefer not to give to either. And their parking lot continues to have people that just "sit" in their car. They're in their vehicles when I stepped out of mine and into the store. High rate of homeless people out front of this store especially on weekends. Several times I have gone and there are people out front of it at a bus stop yelling at traffic, babbling to themselves and Ive seen a fair share of fights between people. There are also panhandlers and people for charity. However, you cant really tell who is a true charity anymore. Usually when I see someone with a table set up in front of the store I just keep driving because Im just tired of the interaction anymore. Ralphs is up Lake, Vons is a little further away, theres a Walgreens close by so theres better options. If the store was not such a hub of negative activityI might shop here more. On the plus side Ive never had any rude employees of the store and its pretty well kept. I normally find what I need when I do stop. read more

The good: The store is clean and well-organized. The bad: Everything else. I don't have a car and therefore wear a backpack to carry my goods when I'm going shopping. I feel like I'm being profiled when they cut off their canned "Welcome to Riteaid" greeting to demand I leave my backpack at the front, like I'm some kind of bum just because I am a student without a car. I usually just pretend I don't hear them and walk on by (earbuds are great for this), and they're busy (read: understaffed) enough that they've never chased me down to enforce their request. I hate the homeless hecklers that camp out right at the entrance. It's usually the same ones. I've given them money before, literally in fear that they might try to hurt me if I didn't because they were drunk and angry, and now they expect something from me every time I pass them by. Came in and found what I needed. Instocks looked good and store looked pretty clean. Plenty of parking at this location and has a Thrifty ice cream section plus counter to buy single scoops. Only issues for a four instead of five star rating was due to a long line with one cashier open and the single scoop ice cream freezers look like they haven't been defrosted in a long time. read more

Then they make you wait for 10 min then tell you their bathroom is out of order. When you seek their advice on where to go and they just did not care. My boyfriend and I saw Rob Schneider here once. As far as the actual store goes, I never had a big problem with it personally. Except for that one time that someone squirted some shaving cream on the floor and I slipped in it, but didn't fall. Told the manager and he took care of it.
