The pharmacists are amazing! I have had such quick service, AND they know who I am just after a few visits. They watch your medication history to make sure nothing is warring with something else that you are taking, and they ask you questions just to make sure. I got no complaints about this Rite-Aid with exception to the regular homeless peeps who camp out at the front of the store asking for change (which I realize is no fault of the store, but still uncomfortable and annoying to have to anticipate EVERY time!). They are incompetent. They continue to fill my prescriptions under the wrong name and everytime I go in to pick up a refill it is a 30min exercise in extreme patience as they tell me they don't have my prescription, they can't find my name,, my insurance has expired or some other excuse about why it isn't ready. I called the pharmacy this evening to simply ask if they had my prescription available to fill. I was told that information couldn't be given out over the phone. I stated that I'm just asking if that particular prescription was available. I don't need quantities. I wasn't asking for a particular persons name. Just if they happened to have my prescription available prior to me driving there. Again, same answer. So I drive there and of course, they don't have my prescription! I came in to pick up a box of face masks, I caught a cold last week, and with returning to school tomorrow (PCC) I really wanted to be prepared! I walk into the store, ask one of the guys if he could show me to where they were located! Very rude and lack of customer service, he said, "hell we don't have any, sold out, you ain't gonna find any anywhere!!" I thought WOW!! I walked out, SO, I drove to CVS in Hasting's Ranch, the guy was super nice, told me they did run out, do have them on order, but, do have a box reserved but nobody had picked them up yet, so he checked for me, and came back to tell me they were now mine!! I so appreciated this, personally I feel that these companies need to work on better customer service for their employees and maybe even management! The RUDEST awful service. I am at this pharmacy because I could not go to my pharmacy. Hoping to pay the same the same price, I was socked when the total came to nearly $23 more than what I unusually pay from pharmacy, same generic same brand. Dealing with the pharmacy department gives me a headache. The doctor sent my prescription and my sons prescription to this pharmacy they never received my sons. A semiconductor dr sent to this pharmacy they didn't receive it. I'm not sure what the glitch was but they certainly didn't seem to care about it. Getting a prescription filled at this Rite Aide and there wasn't a whole lot to do since they were about to close so they were rushing us out of there. The pharmacy has certain hours that do not facilitate longer hours to help get your medications which i thought was a little inconvenient because it really wasn't that late in the evening but other then that i wasn't crazy about all the homeless people asking for money as your walking in and out either. 1 star for the photo department. I dropped off my film and the man who took my envelope nonchalantly threw it somewhere and told me to come back in 5 business days. Okay, cool. 5 days pass. I call in and there's nothing on the status of my film! The clerk asks me to call back in a few days. Okay. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday -- I call again. Nothing. Different clerk tells me to call back in 10 minutes so she can give a ring to the film developing company. Still no status on my roll. Ugh. I call again Saturday. Nothing. Finally on Monday, my roll was ~mysteriously~ found underneath the counter somewhere -_- The clerk was empathetic and even said "Wow, you've been waiting on your film 2 weeks ago! I'm so sorry." There are still crackheads outside the store. Very intimidating. It's always the same 4 or 5. Try to avoid being outside the store, especially late in the day or at night. It would seem that some kind of security would be needed. Maybe calling the police often, because it's obvious we are dealing with addicts and maybe gang members. However, what makes me angry is the way they put prices on things, supposedly on sale, then at the counter you have to really watch that they don't charge full price. They won't take your word for it but the cashier will go back and check on it, and of course the idea is to make you feel guilty for holding up the line. But why should one get cheated in this way??? This happened also with some close-out shoes they had on sale for $3.00. I found a pair in my size and when I went to pay they said, oh, sorry, these are really $12.99. The "store manager" said so, so there was no recourse. It was interesting because when I went back I could not find these particular shoes anywhere but the close-out bin. Of course, I refused to purchase the shoes at that price and never purchase any other items where there has been this type of misleading pricing going on. The pharmacy is always looking for a reason to deny my prescriptions, too. My drugs are never painkillers or anything else that an addict would want, so I don't know what the problem is. They always get paid, so what is this? I never had any of these problems with their competitor, and if the major competitor was closer to my house, I'd be going there. My go to store for household goods. They have great customer service at this location. The staff always greets you when you walk in and asks if you need help finding anything. Although it doesn't have the widest assortment in categories, they have the basics I need. Plus I'm a gold member so I get 20% off everything in the store! They also sell Thrifty ice cream if you want a snack on your way out. Beware coming after work hours. Long lines and sometimes only one cashier on duty. One thing that I don't like about this location is the lack of cleanliness. Their baskets can be pretty filthy. Last time I found an ear plug in it so check before putting your groceries in. read more

Well I have just about fed up with this pharmacy. Have been having continual problems for years. They have a drive through which is about the only thing they have going for it. Otherwise they: 1) Are the most expensive pharmacy in Pasadena/South Pas/San Marino area. Check out the GoodRx app, they list price, of my 12 prescriptions Rite is #1 most expensive on 11 of them. 2) I have 3 prescriptions, they call you but do not indicate that only 1 of the prescriptions are filled, so you often waste your time going just to have to go back again to pick up the others. 3). One of my Drs retired. I gave them the new phone # to the new doctor and even the old doctor';s recording has the new # for the new doctor. They can not figure this out. They continually call the old # and no one answers of course. I have been without a drug for over 3 months! Now an other of my drugs that they switched (because I was there for over an hour working it through) they switched back and now I am without 2 drugs. 4) I have two prescriptions for one drug, because I need 225 and it only comes in 100, 125 doses, but they think it is a mistake 1/2 the time so I only get one of them and have to explain to them why there is two. This happened 5 times this year! 5). I routinely get the wrong drugs from them!!! 6). And I have to count each one because I'll be shorted on several. 7). Service is ridiculous, they have usually 5 people behind the stand but can only handle once client because only one of them can talk to a client! The other 4 just chat. 8) The staff here is routinely changed, every 3 to 4 months entirely new staff. This has been going on for years! I have switched to Raph's South Pasadena, which has it's troubles but nothing like this. read more

I love this Rite-Aid. It's clean, organized, and well-managed. I only noticed this after visiting the disgusting, crowded, badly managed Walgreen's on North Lake. I appreciate the fact that the aisles are clearly marked, the products are correctly displayed, there aren't random products crowding shelves, or floor displays blocking pathways. In comparison to the other reviewers, I think the customer service is excellent, and I cannot remember waiting in long lines. The pharmacy is great too. They are efficient and quick. I'm not always a fan of being asked to donate a dollar to whatever charity is hanging outside the door, but I haven't encountered that lately, so I'm not going to let it affect my rating. The staff answers the phone in a timely manner. The staff is friendly and will to help. The store is large and clean. There is a large parking with entrances on two streets. Enter to find a filthy, disorganized store compared to other drug stores in the area (and even other Rite Aids). Then faced a looooong wait at the pharmacy. The store management seems inexperienced, overwhelmed, and eager to work only when it means dishing out aggravation on long time customers. Forget about customer service. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Corporate should look into closing this store and selling the property to CVS. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Check out is really slow. Typically there's only on cashier on duty, even if the line is 10+ people long. My biggest complaint are the homeless people directly outside the front door harassing customers and bogus 'charities' soliciting for funds. The management doesn't care and won't do anything about it. This place is super sketchy and unsafe after dark. Apparently customer safety isn't a concern once you leave the walls of their store. Bottom line: if you want to wait forever in line and then chance being mugged walking to your car in the parking lot then this is the store for you.
