Wide range of vegetarian supply. Frozen and dry food selections. Aunty is friendly and gave us good advise on cooking some of the items

Really well stocked, Vegetarian & Vegan foods, lovely friendly Lady owner. She was very helpful and explained the best way to prepare the food. The prices are really cheap and the food quality is great. Limited opening time, I found that she closes early due to the Covid-19 situation. This is my 3rd time shopping here, I definitely will be back! read more

It's veg protein heaven here. I love coming here to stock up on all my Asian veg proteins and pantry items. Good prices and I enjoy supporting the woman who owns and runs the store. So happy this place exists!! read more

Bodhi Vegetarian Supply is definitely worth the trip! I came here by recommendation of another Vegan blogger and I am glad I did! The location is a little difficult to find since its nestled way in the back of an ominous shopping plaza, we had to go into two or three different plazas before finding the right one! Haha Once you walk in, you are met with an array of different types of foods, mainly meat replacements. Read carefully, the first few freezers are not Vegan friendly (and are marked Milk/Egg products). They sell different sizes portions of most things so I bought a ton of small portion items to sample and see which ones I like best. The fake meats are VERY affordable! I bought a ton of food for about $26. The owner/lady at checkout was very nice! She even gave me tips on how to cook and prepare my purchases. I will definitely be back to Bodhi Vegetarian Supply! read more

I have to make a stop here, a special request for my dad. He has been a vegetarian for over 10 years!! Thank goodness for a store like this for anti-meat eaters!! I wish Hawaii has this store.... Everything so expensive back home and they don't carry many varieties like Bodhi. The only vegetarian food I love is Jai, bean curd & tofu!! I give my dad credit!, I know that I won't survive!! This store is a small store and there are lots of vegetarian supply to choose from. Prices are very reasonable and so grateful they except credit cards!! The owner is friendly, helpful, and she is a vegetarian as well. I was able to get my dad's goods!! Vegetarian Saimin noodles & vegetarian imitation pork. I bought taro cake and seaweed for me. Hopefully this supply will last him til my nexts visit. Thank you Bodhi Vegetarian Supply!! read more

Cute little store that has a variety of vegetarian items including protein.

My favorite vegetarian restaurant on Rosemead Blvd. Recently I came to Bodhi, was told that they have Taiwan food.

Gahhh this place is my heaven! It's so hard to find good vegetarian ingredients at the market. Now I don't have to settle for the mediocre vegetarian meats at places like Ralph's, I can always come here for some delicious fake meats. They sell frozen dishes and products that you can easily make yourself at home. Well, I don't cook myself, but my boyfriend sure does know how to make these ingredients into a delicious dish. The frozen meats I always get are the chicken leg, the beef that you make in black pepper beef, vege bbq pork, and crispy soy chicken (similar to popcorn chicken). I love all of them but of course it all depends on how you cook it. I suggest you look up recipes online and experiment with eat meat. The non frozen stuff are also delicious. I got three packaged things and they're all dry meat, very similar to like beef jerky. I don't know the names of these things since they're all in Chinese but if you look at my picture that I posted on this page, out of the top 3 packaged meats I have on top, the middle one is the best !! It's the one that has a little bit of yellow on the packaging. I highly suggest you get that one because it's so BOMBBBB! It has so much flavor and it literally almost tastes like meat. The other two are okay too, but the texture was just too hard for me to chew. I will definitely be coming back, although I should because they take all my money :( I splurge when I come here, it's horrible. read more

Love. This. Place. I am the kind of vegan who loves to cook and especially loves to recreate the flavors and textures from my meat eating days. After a trip to New Orleans I was keen to make a proper "crawfish" etouffee. The biggest challenge was finding a crawfish substitute. Enter the frozen vegan prawns from Bodhi! They were exactly what I needed (and the same thing you find at vegan restaurants) and my dish turned out great! To be clear, this is not a full grocery store. They specialize in vegetarian and vegan processed foods and have a huge selection of them to boot. If you have ever been to a vegetarian-asian restaurant with all of the fake meats they serve, and want to recreate those dishes at home, then you will need to get supplies here. It is the only place I have found so far that carries these foods, and their prices are great! read more

I have been going here for almost five years. One of the two asian ladies is always there, very nice and friendly, and ready to answer any questions I have. They have tons of variety, from fake over easy eggs to fake shredded fish to eat with rice porridge. I always buy their large bags of frozen meat (its cheaper), and stock up. If you can't find something, ask. They can either tell you when they'll get it, or may have it hidden away in another freezer. For you meat eaters out there, try the fake fish, chicken drumsticks, chicken patties, or beef steak patties--they will not disappoint. I do believe they got rid of most of their products that contain egg albumen (it was always noted on the ingredients), but if you don't eat egg, please advise them and they'll help you pick out your products. read more

Came here today and it had a fairly good variety of vegan meats. I think I was just a bit disappointed to find that it's really small and doesn't have as big of a selection of vegan products as I expected, such as cheese, milk, plain tofu, sauces, etc. I'm a bit confused about some of the reviews about the products being in a foreign language...there are literally labels in English on majority of the products! I'm the kind of customer that likes to be left alone and given space while I shop, so I really have no problem with the limited customer service here...I also consider the language barrier, however, the lady was very nice to me. I was really happy to find some organic barely pearls (could not find that anywhere but here) and organic azuki beans! Can't wait to come back :)) read more

I LOVE IT!!!! I rad a review like a week ago and i couldn'e believe taht was so close to my house and that i also passed by so many times without noticed.......so i went....and let me tell you , is a small market but with so much good stuff, is unbelivable how much fake meat you can find there. I am trying to no eat chicken anymore ,and also canned tuna , and they even have fake tuna. You also would find fake, shrimp and many more types of meat. The lady there is very nice and she answer all my questions(and i love to make questions!!!) I really recomend this place ...... give it a try , you will love it!!! read more

AWESOMECAKES!! This is like a butcher shop for vegetarians! EVERY type of fake meat, you can even find Vegi-Lobster here (it's pretty good, too). MUST TRY the Vegi-Duck in the reddish pouch (defrost in the micro, heat on FULL till it's hot, crisp in the oven, serve with wild rice - YUMM). It's mostly frozen stuff here, and they offer many popular items super-cheap in bulk (such as breaded chicken pieces, and vegi-drumsticks). The bulk items are also much more eco-friendly, since there's only one bag (and it's large enough to reuse for catsh*t duty once you've finished the product). Their prices are reasonable and they'll know the answer to any questions you have. Oh, and the pigeons in the parking lot are fat and always friendly. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! Vegetarians, you will NOT be disappointed!! read more

The owner is super nice and will help you out if you are vegan diet only. Some stuff has milk or eggs. The prices here are extremely generous, much lower than other places for the same items. You can buy all the fake meats here that you get in vegan restaurants. I hesitated to write that as I don't want to undercut vegan restaurants but frankly many of them suck and need to learn how to cook plants period. Cooking well is hard though and here you can stock up on many yummy treats. Strong recommend and strong affection for this place. read more

My family showed me this place last year since my fiance is a vegetarian and he loves it! There's so many different types of fake meat here you wouldn't believe it till you see it. Fake shrimp, fake tuna, veggie-duck, veggie-lobster, etc. It makes it a lot easier to substitute different meat for Chinese dishes. Even if your not vegetarian I think you would enjoy this place too. Also the price range from affordable to just plain cheap. The people who works here are really nice too! read more

This place is fantastic. Even if you're not vegetarian, there's something here for you. The prices are excellent, and it has the biggest variety of fake meats I have ever seen. (Veggie pig's feet, anyone?) The mushroom based ones are excellent, they even have mushroom based veggie jerky. The frozen mushroom "mutton" makes any soup wonderful. It's easy to miss, since it's a small sign in a large strip mall....but don't pass it by!!! I drive all the way from the West Side because they have me hooked. read more

A friend told me about this place years ago and I love it! The two women who work here are incredibly friendly!! I usually come here to stock up on the jerky that they have. This is the only place where I have found it in large packages and its incredibly inexpensive and delicious! I definately recommend this place!! read more

If you are a vegetarian and are tired of natural vegetable textures and taste, then this place is the place to shop for all kinds of processed vegetarian and vegan faux "meats". They have all kinds of things and most of them are garlic and onion free because they cater mostly to the religious folks here that are vegetarian, and by their religious definition of vegetarianism, it can't have any family of garlic, onion, chives, etc. So if you have this need, this is a safe place to get your vegetarian products. A lot of western branded vegetarian faux "meats" all include the garlic and onion family for taste. Almost all the brands in this place are Asian brands. There are a ton of products all lined in the freezers on one side, sauces in the back, bulk pricing bags in the back freezers, and dried good on the shelves to the right. They are so many products, but here are some items they have in case it peaks enough of your interest to check it out: vegetarian shrimp, vegetarian ham, vegetarian chicken (more than 3+ styles), vegetarian duck, vegetarian fish balls, vegetarian beef balls, vegetarian fish (there are like 3 + kinds), vegetarian sashimi, vegetarian crab, vegetarian crab balls, vegetarian hot pot materials, vegetarian lamb chunks, vegetarian asian bbq sauce, vegenaise, chili sauce, satay sauce, black bean sauce, noodles, seaweed, vegetarian shark fin, vegetarian pork sung, vegetarian powders and health drink powders, vegetarian fish tofu, vegetarian balls with stuffing inside, vegetarian hot dogs, vegetarian beef, vegetarian bacon (this is really good with collard greens). Some of my family favorites are the vegetarian lamb chunks - they are great for hot pot, for stir-fry, vegetarian bacon to cook with collard greens, vegetarian shrimp for soups, oden, walnut shrimp dish, shrimp cocktail, hot pot, vegetarian fish - the one made of only beancurd wrapped in seaweed for fish dish, if you ever been to Au Lac and had their lemongrass fish - this is the fish they use (now you can get it for home! but I still eat it at Au Lac because I just can't mimic how crispy delicious they make that fish at the restaurant, lol). They have one freezer with vegan and gluten free items, so you just have to check the bag for the labeling. Most of the other items all contain a mixture of wheat and tofu. My family comes here a lot and you might wonder why not five stars? Well, because for me personally it's really got no atmosphere, and I wish they had more vegan, gluten free, or even organic products. But the place is great for their target market so that's totally fine. Free parking in the lot outside. Bring your own bag. They take credit cards. Nice lady at the register who has owned this place for as long as I can remember. read more

I came here all the way from Orange County because my family from PNW requested some vegetarian food from this specific shop .. Only to find an un-friendly owner (?) who wouldn't even tell me what item was her best seller .. All I wanted to do was to buy the popular items for my family to try but ended up buying $35 worth of blindly choosing fake meats, that may or may not be any good. Will not be coming back .. Throw me a bone if you want my business. read more

It was a weight off my shoulders to find a local vegetarian market. I stocked up and got plenty of delicious items I couldn't find anywhere near by. I got beef and chicken soy protein, yam meat, and konjac shrimp. If you're seeking veggie options you'll definitely find something that interests you here. read more

They have the best veggie meat substitutes! Very small but has everything you could want to make vegan and vegetarian meals.

This place is so cute. A little hole in the wall that is a vegan gold mine. I got the jerky and some seasoned meat. The jerky was amazing - the meat...eh. I wasn't a fan but they have so many options Ill be going back to see what other things I can find to love :) read more

I came here solely for vegan cheese. I didn't see any. I did buy some soy chixkkn nuggets and patties. I couldn't read any of the foreign language. But. I will say these soy items were more tasty and realistic than the mainstream brands found at large grocers. I'd recommend a trip. The best find was a vegetarian bouillon. read more

After reading the reviews here, I decided to do the 1-hour trip to this decrepit looking joint. I am a vegetarian but my focus is the consumption of whole, unprocessed foods. Can't say there were any fresh vegetables here, not even one. No vegetables, period. Fresh or wilted. As for the faux meats, if this little thing called "health" is of concern to you, I am not sure why you would buy this junk. I couldn't read the micro-script on the packages under poor lighting at the store, so I decided to hedge my bets and only buy a handful of items. I looked at the packages under the light in my apartment. Standard ingredients on the faux meats - sugar (you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out once you taste the "chicken" drumsticks), milk powder (why not whole milk?), egg powder (ditto). Salt is to be expected but not in those quantities. At $5 a pop, I expect more than just non-GMO soy. The wheat listed in not qualified as non-GMO. Packaging is mediocre at best. I doubt the quality of plastic can withstand freezing temps. I mean give me ziplock any day, heck, give me something re-sealable for Christ's sake. My biggest "beef" is with the sugar, especially given the plethora of healthful alternatives. Better yet, ditch the sweet element altogether. Speaking of ditches, all that salt will put you six feet under. Vendors claiming to sell a health product do not just dump sugar in a savory item. The intent is to cause addictive behaviors. And Canola oil? How's that healthy? Here's the climax of the story - the owner was too busy chatting it up with a customer to ring me up. I didn't have a bag, so when I grabbed a worn-out, neglected, empty cardboard tray that was sitting in a corner looking ashamed of itself, the owner lady went ballistic. She said I could not take it and snatched it from hands lol. Jeez lady, take a chill pill. Childhood box trauma? I wasn't up for getting squeezed out of another 10c for a bag. So I proceeded to carry my sad little items in my arms. At that point, things got (even more) bizarre as the owner ran towards the door and gave me a brand new cardboard box to carry my stuff out. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? The moral of the story is this. If you live in LA and want to ignore my review, knock yourself out with the 1-hour (and then some) drive for processed, pre-packaged, sugar-laden, sodium-saturated, vegetarian health food. You might get a free cardboard box if you're so lucky. read more

Every vegetarian in the city needs to know about this place. The largest selection of frozen fake-meat products in LA, and the freezers are nice and cold (unlike those of some nearby supermarkets I could mention but won't). Also, a pretty comprehensive array of dried soy-granule-and-puff items, soup ingredients, and snacks. Watch the sodium, though. Another good place is K & L Vegetarian Market, on New Ave. just south of the 10 (http://www.yelp.com/biz/k-and-l-vege-market-monterey-park). read more

This is a great place to buy Asian vegetarian food. It's a small store with a freezer section full of mock meats. The store sells lots of dried and canned vegetarian food, such as dried seaweed, TVP (including flavored ones), soup bases, noodles, and even canned vegetarian pate! The lady who works there is really nice and helpful. She speaks several languages, including Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish (and probably English, but I haven't tried talking to her in English). read more

Omg I LOVE THIS PLACE! Bodhi has a huge selection of fake meats. The owners are very helpful and the products are super cheap! I had been craving fake chicken drumsticks for awhile and was getting tired of spending $9.99 for 4 at my local cafe. Instead, I got packs of 6 for under $3. I also bought a bunch of things that I've never tried that I'm super excited to cook. After I purchased the hot & spicy vegan jerky, I tasted it and quickly grabbed 7 more bags. It hasn't even been a week since I visited the store and I'm all out. Noooo. I'll definitely be making the trek out there often to buy more tasty products. read more

My parents are total vegetarians and this veggie stuff is all they eat. And my mom makes bomb ass dishes with the veggie meat, so I love to eat this stuff too. The store itself isn't anything fancy, literally just a small simple Asian market, but it's loaded with plentiful veggie meat options. Most if not all, are soy based. It's located in a plaza, so there's plenty of parking as well. The lady that is usually there speaks chinese, vietnamese, and english so dont' be afraid to ask her questions! Bohi, has great foods and has many awesome awesome variety to choose from. You all must come and take alook this vegetarian shop.

I'm pretty sure this place supplies all of the area Chinese veggie and vegan food restaurants with all their isolated soy protein-based foods. It's cheap and all from the Orient. It doesn't seem high quality or all that healthy. Soy protein isolate is in most of the fake meats and people should understand what it is. The people who run the store are very nice and they have a huge selection of what appears to be lower grade processed vegetarian and vegan foods. read more

If your a vegetarian and in need of some mock "faux" "fake" meat products, then look no further! Have you gone to any veggie Chinese, Vietnamese or other Asian restaurants and wondered where they get their veggie meat products? Well, wonder no more! Bodhi Vegetarian Supply has it all! Mock duck, shrimp, beef, chicken, lamb, fish, oyster, abalone and lots lots more. They are a tiny store, but the pack it deep. Tons of cool tasty treats to try out. Friendly to both lacto-ovo and vegan veggies. Staff is extremely helpful and will educate you on cooking techniques. Some of my favorites to look for: Pepper spiced Ham roll, Veggie Tuna roll and the Yuba. Try them out! You won't regret it! read more

Drove a long way to find this store on a recommendation as well as finding it through an independent search. This is a very small market (almost a hole in the wall) which has a large selection of veggie and vegan frozen food items. I was in the store for about 15 minutes looking at all of the items available, and not once did the store employees acknowledge me or ask if I needed assistance. Some of the items are in a language other than English, and i would have liked to have known what they were. I honestly did not get a welcoming feeling in this store, so I left. (Yes. I could have easily reached out to them) Customer service is very important. read more

Great variety of food but the owner attitude is really get this place to 1-star review. I always go to this store for vegetarian supply and hardly feel ok with this place's owner. Her attitude made me feel like it is a privilege for me to be able to shop at her store. I always buy food in bulk because my whole family are vegetarians and she never offer help to take food to my car. I was ok with that, no complaints. However, one day, I went shopping at the store and went to the restroom, which I sometimes do. I mean how you could resist the nature call. When I got out of the restroom, the owner yelled at me, saying "no one allowed into the restroom now. You must clean everything you touch." Her voice was so loud and rude. If she did not want anyone to use the restroom, she could have put a sign on it. She kept yelling at me and told me I "must disinfect everything" I touched. I had no issue doing that but there was nicer way of her to ask. I disinfect the restroom, anyways, and at that moment, I decided that this would be my last time coming here. That is it. read more

This store is a great little resource for vegans and vegetarians. Just make sure you've got clear freezer-space, as many products come in big bulk bags. My only reservation is they don't really have any organic options. Otherwise, it's a terrific selection. read more

Bodhi has the best selection of veggie meat in the area, and some of their products taste better too! We love the veggie black pepper beef, veggie ham (I make veggie ham (in lieu of Spam) musubi for my vegetarian friends), and veggie crisp chicken (great skewered on the grill). I always prefer the soy protein products over gluten faux meat because I find that it has a better texture - less rubbery. Go there and cook up your own veggie banquet of stir fries and hot pot or soup! I always stock up when I visit LA. read more
