Representing 2023 in alphabet series is G is for Glory Days. I visited the Burke, VA location one time in May 2023. In spring 2023, I dated this woman who lived close to this location. This was part of our 2nd to last date, but if I had been smart the last date with her should've happened in February after our 2nd date. But on a positive was going to Glory Days, which I was familiar with in Alexandria (which sadly closed in May 2025), between Bailey's Crossroads & Annandale, near BWI, & a couple of others I had been. She was a teacher, and she had gotten a $10 off at Glory Days for some thank you. She told me we would use the $10 off, and told me that I would pay for our meals. I got the wings, which were delicious as always. Service was good at this location. Afterward, we went to a Farm near Herndon, which was pretty cool, but it rained heavily at the end. The best part of that day was getting a movie in at AMC Georgetown DC (even though parking is pain there) on my way home to MD. read more

Context I've been a fan of Glory Days for many years and I've been a regular customer at the Burke location since 2019. That said things are tough these days and it's hard to justify eating out and paying more for meals and drinks. We purchase gift cards at Costco ($100 worth for $80) and combine that with the weekly specials they have traditionally offered. In short, we made it affordable enough to justify going on a tight budget. The Good The staff are great (John at the bar has been there for 20+ years), the food is good and the prices have usually been reasonable. We are big fans of the wings at Glory Days and the $6.99 for 6 after 9 PM made this our GoTo appetizer. I've had many meals at the Burke location after working late nights or after working out the gym and I've enjoyed the consistency and devotion the staff put into the experience. Sheldon often has my beer ready by the time I get a seat at the bar. Glory Days is a sponsor for some of the local public baseball fields and a big draw for teams at the many local schools. Add to all of this a good location, TONS of SCREENS and a real sense of neighborhood commitment and you can see why customers show so much loyalty. The NOT so Good Recently the policies and the menus have been changing. Prices have gone up, discounts have gone down or been completely eliminated and some items are no longer offered. I've heard that this is partially due to a change in ownership, apparently the new management team wants to go after more money and expect customers to just absorb the cost. I guess they took a page from Amazon's "Screw over the Prime members" playbook. Reasonable prices and policies have been replaced with higher prices and less options. Don't care for fries? You'll pay an upcharge to swap them out for broccoli or rice. Goodbye $6.99 wings and hello $11.99 for the same 6 bone-in wings. No more half price burgers on Monday, Taco Tuesdays and etc. Instead they have a "Trifecta" and the "Merica Burger". Needless to say I'm not impressed. Moving On These changes have prompted my wife and I to explore local alternatives despite our loyalty to the staff at the Burke location. We still hold a few gift cards and we'll be back to use them but we're not buying any more and we're checking out other restaurants. Tonight, it is Oh George! over by GMU. Time will tell if Glory Days returns to it's former Glory or goes down the profit driven death spiral. read more

I'm kind of surprised the ratings on this place are where they are, as the restaurant has the perfect mix of bar food with some healthier options, good friendly service, it's clean, and is great for sports fans with no bad seat in the house for the amount of tv's all around. I had the salmon strawberry salad which was fresh and light. The salmon came cooked well so if you like it medium, make sure to specify. If I had any critiques it would be to have less salt on the baked potato and to cook it just a bit longer, but those are personal preferences. read more

I cannot say enough good things about the management, staff, and food we had today at this location. We had a funeral wake and we were very unsure of the number of guests that would show up. The managers and staff were so flexible and kind to us. The food was out right on time. And everything was delicious. I work in hospitality as well, and I know my expectations are high. We often order the same few items when we go in when visiting family and they always prepare them well. They also show all the spots you could want so great place to catch a few games at once. This time we had the macho nachos and were as good as usual. Also had a crispy chicken tender salad. Fresh ingredients and the chicken tenders are some of the best. We called on a Thursday to do a reservation for 10 people at 6pm on that upcoming Saturday. They reserved the back room for us which we appreciated. When we arrived, the space was ready for us. It was a bit on the warmer side inside the back room when it was a high of 80s outside. We ordered the All-Star combo. I enjoyed the different sauce options and the Mac and cheese bites were great. The pretzels were fine, nothing special. The mild sauce on the boneless chicken wings was not my favorite. I ordered the Glory Days cheesesteak and the onions on it were really yummy. I ended up eating more of just the inside of the sandwich because I was pretty full. I had upgraded to the sweet potato fries and the amount they give compared to the normal fries was substantially less even though you paid more. I tried the freshly squeezed lemonade and it was well done. My husband ordered the Mac and cheese burger and he thought it was quite tasty. Service throughout was not terrible, but there was one drink missed that was ordered, but luckily we were not charged for it. I would say this is about your average American bar type food. Management has gradually lost control of this establishment to a group of regulars. These individuals consistently cause disruptions and are effectively allowed to run the space--including changing the TVs themselves. Tenured bartenders openly favor these regulars because they represent consistent income for them, allowing the regulars to ring in large quantities of drinks just before happy hour ends so they can continue drinking the rest of the night at the discounted price, while showing little regard for other patrons. One particular regular who appears to control the TVs is frequently mentioned in reviews across multiple platforms, suggesting this has been an ongoing and widely recognized issue. When management attempts to intervene, the regulars become upset and begin yelling at other customers, creating an uncomfortable and hostile environment. Even the longtime bartenders appear to have lost their patience, which only adds to the tension. The four-top seating installed along one side during COVID should be removed, as it contributes to the anarchy that now exists there. The new managers are left scrambling to deal with these patrons, and it is genuinely difficult to watch. read more

I've been to a lot of sports bars over the years, but Glory Days Grill - Burke is hands-down my favorite spot to catch a game. From the moment you walk in, the energy is awesome - tons of huge TVs on every wall, and somehow they're always showing the right games. No fighting with the bartender to change the channel, no missing a key play because someone wanted to watch golf. Whatever big game is on - NFL, MLB, NHL, college football - it's up there in crystal-clear HD. The staff is the real MVP here. Every server and bartender I've encountered is friendly, fast, and genuinely seems to care about the customers. They know the menu inside out, offer great recommendations, and check in just often enough without hovering. Management is always friendly and engaging no matter who is on duty. On busy game days, they're running around like crazy but still manage to keep a smile and remember your order. Food is classic sports bar done right: wings that are breaded daily, crispy and saucy, juicy burgers, and ice-cold beers on tap. Everything comes out hot and quick, even when the place is packed. Specials during the week are great including Burger Night on Mondays. If you're looking for the perfect place to watch sports with great people, great food, and zero channel drama, this is it. Mike the TV guy was really rude Took 10 plus minutes to het a drink at the bar ( older lady bartender) Sunday funday? African American bartender off duty behind bar. I thought he was on the clock... I went to him as he is always here and instead of listening he told me that he was NOT on the clock and to move. He smelled like alcohol. I'm glad Elliot world here! We went here after a local high school football game around 940pm. It was very loud, crowded, and full of energy as if we were still at a football game. Lots of excited vocal fans watching the Green Bay and Eagles game. They have wall to wall TVs with lots of sports playing. The food was great and our server Deja was amazing. We had two tasty sandwiches and fries. It would have been better to get a few more fries on the plate but it was fine. The boneless wings were a great appetizer. We gave the Burke Glory Days another chance and were pleasantly surprised that the service and food were back up to the very high standards we had come to know and love. I ordered a Glory Burger, medium cooked patty and it was cooked exactly how i ordered it. We also ordered ribs and they were a bit over cooked but the cornbread on the side was to die for ! . The cocktails however were not good, it was happy hour so we did get a good deal but they weren't what i expected! The rice was left over from previous days and not well stored. My salmon was slightly under cooked. The mashed potatoes were great. There were 11 of us. The meatloaf is just two hamburger patties. What a joke. The place has a strong smell of bleach. We picked up a few dinners with friends from out of town, but it just wasn't good. Glory Days is a decent chain. I thought Green Turtles were better, but the ones in our area didn't make it. As far as their menu, I stick mostly to the burgers and chicken sandwiches. These are tasty, but I don't find them remarkable. What I do like is their wings. These are quite delicious, although they need to be cheaper. For a family this will set you back. They have a decent bar selection. Here you can catch a baseball game, football match, or more on their multiple televisions. They definitely have a lot of them. That is my favorite feature, along with their friendly and efficient servers. I've found service to be quite good. If you're in the area, this is a decent place to go to. So you have a table open and unavailable because of Covid rules and you have no one wearing a mask! People sitting less than six feet from me! Does that make me feel safe? I really enjoy Glory Days Grill in Burke. We usually come here for a weekday lunch and whatever I am in the mood for will be on the menu. Where to begin? Their burgers are tops. I especially like the Cheeseburger Trifecta with its generous topping of three cheeses. The Buffalo Chicken Salad is another all-time favorite. I usually order it with crispy (fried) chicken rather than grilled. If the soup of the day is one I like, I may order a soup and half-Buffalo Chicken Salad. The Glory Days Reuben is another winning sandwich. I look forward to the seasonal menus. The Oktoberfest menu brings forth all sorts of delights like Cheddar Ale Soup and the Prussian Pretzel Roll sandwich. When coming in for lunch, don't forget the lunch club card. Glory Days is one of my favorite spots. The location in Reston is awesome. The one out in Ashburn is great. The one in Pan-Am Fairfax is pretty good. The one in Centerville is trash and the Burke is OK, but the service is slow. Even when it is not busy, it takes forever to get waited on. The hosts are cool and the food is decent, but it is slow. There is no hustle in the staff there. It must be management, because the staff is always changing as well. This is only on the restaurant side. The bar seems to always be well served. At least it's not the noisiest of GDs out there and the TVs are all working. It seems as if Reston has more variety of games on at times, but that may just be the time of day I have gone there. read more

Ordered the half nachos to share since there were two of us. Friend ordered the Shrimp Po Boy and I went with the short rib burger. Both got fries. The nachos were okay not great. Ordered beers not bad. This place is your average sports bar. It is nice but nothing that really sets it apart from any other. WHAT happened to this place? We used to love Glory Days but the quality of food is steadily going down hill. Ordered a Cobb salad and received a salad made of shredded lettuce. The same lettuce that was on my husband's steak 'n cheese. The bread on his steak 'n cheese was stale. We used to get the wings but stopped once they switched the GF wings to grill. My experience at glory days was terrible. every time a server greeted me, they were ALWAYS under the influence of alcohol or marijuana. The food is so unsanitary if you walk into the kitchen and see where the carrots and celery come from, the bucket is filled with this muddy colored water that those carrots and celery are swimming in. We recently dined at the bar and service was terrible. This is unfortunately the only burger spot with a bar in Burke. Our bar server approached us when we arrived but didn't come to take our order for over 10 min or so. After placing our order, we did notice several people who arrived after us received their meals. Honestly it's the only place in town that serves a burger BUT I can honestly buy my own meat, shape it and cook faster than getting my meal. After waiting for the bartender to finally take out order. Glory Days in Burke (near express stop, kungfu tea, and Safeway) is like the only sports bar in the area... Been here several times, gave them several tries, but they will never be my first pick when someone asks me to eat out. Last time I came the place smelled like B.O. The service is mediocre at best and usually below average. The place could do better with a renovation. Service takes a while. Food takes a while. Check takes a while. At least they are consistent on taking forever. We usually get the wings-dry- with sauce on the side, an appetizer, ribs, salad. Just disappointed with their level of standard. We use curbside. I would rate higher but they keep forgetting things like Glory Days sauce. I also think they have been directed by corporate to reduce add-ons like bacon, tomatoes, pickle, celery, etc. we know that times are tough but it might be prudent to raise the price a bit.
