Its really too bad that the quality of food and customer service is now soooooo bad. We will never come back. There to celebrate a birthday (a party of 5) we had a small cake, the server said they could refrigerate it for us. We thanked her she took our cake then the manager came over and said there would be a $10 cake cutting fee. We told her to bring the cake back and we would cut it ourselves. She said we would still be charged. I could go on and on about this horrible manager and service, but their empty restaurant says it all. Save your money, go anywhere else but her read more

Older establishment but they have an early bird special $21 a plate. It changes day-to-day but a great bang for the buck service is good. Food is good at a reasonable price. read more

Classic old place that has not changed in decades. not changing can be reflective of a good thing, but I am hoping that the new generation can appreciate such a place as many other type of old school places have closed down. Firstly, the bar has incredible live bands playing dancing music, drinks and people enjoying on weekends which makes the Continental the best place in Glendora to go for a night of fun. The place transcends all ages as both my parents and our adult kids have had great times there. There is no cover, inexpensive and hearty drinks. The only "complaint" is that the place gets crowded. For dinner, they have a separate, old-school dining room. White linen tablecloth tables in a darker room. Food is very reasonably priced. Dinner comes with homemade bread, a large salad that includes beets and homemade dressings. Choices are plentiful, but we have had the prime rib on more than a few occasions. A nice cut of prime rib is only $17 on early bird special. Served with vegetables and choice of starches, including loaded baked potato with real pieces of bacon. Service has always been personable and efficient. We have met the owner a couple of times and she is very kind. A waitress told us on our last visit that she is the best boss and owner she has ever worked for, and has been incredible during the Covid period, which we all know has been a struggle for restaurants. Overall, the place is very unassuming from the outside, but serves real, hearty, and well prepared meals in a classic environment. Not modern, not high-end, but a great value and always fun bar scene. read more

Local gem that's been around since the 1980s. We have passed by many many times and noticed a busy parking lot. The sign and name didn't seem to call us..... But curiosity is one of our favorite Yelpie traits... yes...I called myself a yelpie... ha ha . There is a Dinning room, Banquet room, and a lounge. Daily specials both in the lounge and in the dinning room. Check their website to see what's going... In lounge it can range from comedy night, dj night, band night and even piano man (nope not the battling kind ‍). We decided to try the dinning room. The decor is old school red booths , white table cloths, and picture frames.. decor reminiscing the old Europe country side. Baroque style Menu includes everything from prime rib, fish, to French dip,. We ordered the Early Bird Dinner that was only until 6:30p.m. Prices was outstanding. $15 included main entre, choice of potato, soup or salad or a baroque tongue (which by the way is yummy), and warm French baguette with real butter (go ahead spread it on...the healthy spread at home is for the rest of the week ..and u worked out today...why not). I ordered the Top Sirloin and hubby ordered the prime rib. I like my steak medium..and it was perfect... check out the pics. Green salads had home made buttery croutons with a delicious home made dressings. We had a choice between baked potato, roasted potatoes, or rice pilaf. We opted for a baked potato...which was perfectly baked....and u can opt for everything in ur potato....including bacon and cheese.... the veggies were French green beans with almond slivers... a little over cooked but still delicious...I ate it all up. Okay, the cocktails.... omg...best sangria ever...strong ..very strong...and only $6 each... take that ..downtown rooftop lounges.... Very yummy... being a weekday...I had to sip, slowly and couldn't finish it...because I was feeling very relaxed...hee hee... The dessert menu looked delicious....but Donut Man was right down the street ....and a Tiger Tail was on our radar. Service.... sooooo great, attentive, informative....checked on us just enough.. water cups full...food on point... host was charming and made us feel welcome. We were surprised that it was empty in the dinning room but then again...it was mid week and early for dinner. Now the lounge....WOO HOO... it was jumping (ha-ha this word shows my age ).. Hubby and I, definitely need to come back for drinks and appetizers. Next group dinner ....I will\ be bringing my crazy friends for a delicious dinner and then lounge. And,,check out the picture of Melissa McCarthy in the lobby....what....so cool... read more

Just went back to the Continental for the first time in maybe 25 years, and I was so happy to see that nothing has changed inside. Since the Golden Spur closed, this is one of the last old-school roadhouse restaurants left along Alosta/old Route 66. They call themselves "Basque" but the menu is really American at heart. We sat in the bar area which was an amazing throwback to about 1968...honestly I want to come back just to soak up the atmosphere. The food is hearty and classic as well as reasonable. I started with the tomato basil soup, which to be honest was one of the best soups I've ever had. I don't usually get excited about soup but it was amazing. My buddy and I both had the chicken continental: the sauce was nice, the sautéed vegetables were tender, and the twice-baked potato was rich and yummy. Drinks were poured really, really strong. Service was excellent from a very sweet and attentive waitress. So much has changed in the LA SGV but walking into the Continental reminded me of the LA of my youth that is now long gone. Definitely recommended. read more

I made a reservation for 7 pm on a Saturday night, requesting to be seated in the bar area since my friend and I wanted to hear the band that was playing later in the evening. We were seated promptly in a booth in the bar, as requested. We ordered cocktails and perused the menu. At the suggestion of our waitress, I decided on the 1/2 rack of lamb and my friend ordered the scallops. Both meals were served with choice of starch and steamed veggies, plus choice of soup or salad. We were both impressed with the flavor of our food. Servers were attentive and friendly throughout the evening, making sure we were good with our drinks. Loved the live music! The place was busy, so if you're going and want to have a seat in the bar for the music, make a reservation. read more

I love this place so much I had to double review it! We went again last night since we loved it so much the first time. We spent time in the bar while we waited for our table. The bartenders were all great and super friendly. The patrons at the bar were also all so friendly. We ordered clam chowder, egg drop soup, crab cakes , berry, apple and walnut salad, lamb shanks 10/10, and crème brûlée. The food was all outstanding!!!! Can't wait to go again. read more

This was the 3rd time I'd gone to the Glendora Continental. My husband and I went Halloween weekend and it was a blast. They were packed. We could see it's a place you'd need a reservation, but we just decided to pop in. Luckily they had one high top that they gave to us. We knew the next time coming we'd need a reservation. That time we just got the sampler platter and drinks. It was very good and the entertainment was awesome. In the beginning of December we decided to take the in-laws there for dinner. They were really surprised by the quality of the food for the price. Again, drinks were strong. We sat at a table booth. Most recently, I made a reservation for NYE. I kept calling and was told I'd have to wait until Tuesday the 24th at noon (very specific) to make the reservation. I called pretty much on the dot. I requested a booth table for 5. The lady said it only fits 4. I thought it would have been fine, but my mother-in-law said yeah, get a table so we aren't crammed. I got (which I thought was a table like what we saw in past visits). I also wanted 8pm, but the girl said I better do 7:30. Ok. That's fine. We get there and like literally we're the last party to be seated. We are quite bummed because yeah, it's a table, but a high rectangular table with like lawn chair vibe metal high chairs. My mother is 78 years old and my mother-in-law 71 whom had major back surgery was scared thinking how are we going to sit here for hours to ring in the new year with these horrible seats. I asked the young girl who seated us to speak with a manager and no one ever came to speak with me. I doubt they could have done anything, but I really wish this table/seating arrangement would have been explained over the phone as it wasn't conducive to older adults. We made the most of it. The food and drinks didn't disappoint with the exception of my mashed potatoes on my seafood trio being cold (I get it with the rush of New Year's Eve), but overall good. Luckily, a couple left at about 11 pm-ish. The ladies waddled over in pain (I'm sure dramatic, but I'm being honest--my mom took a pain pill) to the table booth (which I might add, fit 5 just fine). We rang in the New Year and left. It was an overall good night despite the slightly rocky start. I will come back, but I'll make sure that the communication about the table requested is clearly established prior. Here's a pic of my seafood trio. Again, we'll be back Continental, and hopefully no hiccups at all. read more

What a hidden gem ! From the outside you would not notice this place. Inside it has its charm and history. We were greeted very warmly by our waitress ! She was very helpful and attentive to myself and co workers... I ordered the meatloaf lunch special and was very pleased with the portion size. The flavor of the meatloaf was soo moist and delicious and enjoyed the mashed potatoes and veggies ! My coworker ordered the salmon and was very happy with how moist , flavorful and large her salmon piece was, the Cobb salad looked fresh and delicious and the French dip had soo much meat my co worker could have had two sandwiches out of it . Besides such great nostalgic food we were also given house bread.. we went in a Friday and the soup of the day was clam chowder and that was sooo good! Rich and creamy with plenty of clams and potatoes... this place is definitely going to be one of my staple go to places ! read more

Great food and service as always. I keep trying to find new places and I'm always disappointed and come back to the cont. Tonight was no different. We went somewhere which I won't mention and after being seated asked for a cocktail, which they didn't serve. I said screw it, let go to the cont where we know it was be excellent food and drinks. And we were right. Drink was never empty. Top sirloin was perfect. Wife's filet was perfect. The soups and salads were great. Need to come more often. It's really the only guaranteed spot in this area these days. This is not the first I attempted to eat somewhere and got and left for the cont. Once I waited for a drink for 30 min and then bailed. Keep it up. Don't change a thing! read more

I can't believe I've lived in Glendora for well over 40 years & have never been here before. This place is wonderful! Bernadette was so welcoming when we arrived. Our waitress was very sweet and the service was excellent. We had the dinner special which was ribeye steak with onions and mushrooms and a reduction sauce. There were a few pieces of asparagus and a delicious angel hair pasta dish as well. It came with salad and bread. Absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back to this gem of a restaurant read more

First time here and had been anticipating eating the food from what I had heard was great. My cousin and I ordered from the lunch menu. She had a Roast Beef dip with onion rings, I am a super Lamb fan so I had a hard decision to make but in the end chose claim chowder soup to start and had the lamb shank with mixed veggie and mashed potato's for my entree. The veggies were all of my favorites with squash, broccoli, carrots, zucchini and Brussels sprouts. The lamb shank came with mint jelly on the side and their demi-glaze sauce/gravy which tasted great. Loved, loved, loved our lunch definitely will be going back. The service was great those that took our order, brought our food, and brought our check we're very polite, knowledgeable and friendly. read more

The food is okay. I think they gave our steak entree to the wrong table. Ours was tough and nothing close to medium rare. Didn't get our baked potato either. Staff wasn't friendly to us at all. Seems like they only cater to their "white usuals?". Disappointed because this happens every time we go. Please fix this so we can be completely satisfied. read more

Pretty good food and very nice atmosphere. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a nice restaurant to dine at.

They have a good menu and everything is held up to its standard and beyond they're extremely kind and very helpful. Going again for sure

I found Glendora's "Regal Beagle" ( and if you don't know what the regal beagle is, I'm judging you.) Reminded a bit of swingers too.... Great and by great I mean STIFF drinks and heavy-handed bartenders. On a good day I could walk there, but easily cab it. Don't be fooled by the exterior. I mixed in with the regulars and thoroughly enjoyed the music and the company. read more

Kathy is the best ever! Great drinks, great food, great time! Can't wait to go back!

I sometimes come to the Continental bar to enjoy a cocktail and the nice atmosphere. Last night (a Monday night) I was there between around 9pm and 10pm. At one point a man came in, obviously extremely intoxicated and greeting many of the patrons there. He was so obviously and was very disheveled looking, so I was surprised that the staff did not kick him out. He was accompanied by another man who was violating the posted dress code. Although he seated himself at the other end of the bar, I could clearly hear him talking about how he hates white people and using racial slurs. Again, I was really surprised that the staff did not kick him out. Although I was planning on having a second drink, I quickly left so as to not have to deal with any potential aggravating or violent repercussions that this one heavily intoxicated man may have presented to me and others present in the bar. I am really surprised that the staff allowed him in the bar in such a heavily intoxicated state, and allowed him to stay even though he was loudly speaking hateful rhetoric. I honestly had the impression that this was an establishment where I can go and feel safe and relaxed. read more

Great food, great live band music, great security, awesome service and definitely a place to meet awesome people.

Love it always and always, try this tiny gem of a place with great music and food , drinks and Glendora locals

We were trying to find a place that served prime rib in the area and ran into this restaurant. Came here on a Saturday around 8:30pm. They have a nice outdoor seating area during COVID, but no misters. Older crowd dining, and younger crowd in the outside "bar" area. It seemed there's quite a few regulars. Nice, clean, and friendly atmosphere. There was a 2 musician band called Sunglasses at Night. One guy playing a guitar and the other singing. The music played was American 60's and 70's and 80's music. They were ok. For dinner I had the prime rib and a baked potato and they were both very good. I wanted my prime rib medium rare and it was exactly what I got. I tasted the ribeye and it was just ok. Cocktails were served well and $8 is a reasonable price. read more
