Two weeks later ion need a fill so I'm happy.
    Chanel D.

I never had a bad experience with this place. The things i don't like the most are the things they cannot control. My nail always come out better than any nail shop. I won't lie the last time i came in there ( two weeks ago ) i felt like they weren't really paying attention to me and what i wanted. The lady who serviced me was very nice however the lady who ran my water. She was an older lady with black short hair she made my water super cold after i told her it wasn't hot enough the first time and the woman sitting next to me hers was TOO Hot. She couldn't even put her feet in the water. So that's a big mistake. I honestly feel like they need more selection of colors i was very disappointed and i could not find the color i was looking for. I had this problem the visit before this as well. I think the reason why i keep coming back when i visit is because they are the only nail shop who does my nails very very thin the way i like and no matter what they do not break or come off unless i make them. I'm very rough with my hands and play fight all the time so i just wish their customer service was better then you'll have my 5 stars.

Super disappointed in this locally owned nail shop. Over priced, cash only, cattle car experience. Paid 5 bucks extra for salt scrub massage that seems part of every other regular service thinking it would be special. Owner although seemingly hospitable also had undertones of hostility. Color selection and polish type cheap. Nail polish chipped off in 3 days. Toe nails clipped on an angle. Never again dropping in on this walk in spot. I'm happy to support local businesses that provide quality work but $60 for a chipped end result was a rip off.

Nail tech was very careful and detailed. Nail fill.

Best nail fill I ever got!!! The nail tech was very careful and detailed. The square shape is very precise and the edges were super clean. Very high quality work.

I've been coming here for years, I've been to so many different salons and there's no other I love to visit more than I do this one. My nails look flawless every time, and the nail techs are so gentle and accommodating. Bring any style or design to them and EVERY SINGLE NAIL TECH WHO WORKS HERE will do it perfectly. They also have the newest, latest colors that are trendy. It's like a family over here. Will forever give them my business. These are blurry screenshots of nails I've had over the past few months

Hallelujah! I finally found a nail shop that I like. They have great colors. They're consistent. They deal with my nail OCD. 8 times out of 10 they do great. That's an A in my book. They follow directions, most fills last over two weeks. Their prices are decent. They do lashes well. I'm not a fan of their eyebrow waxing technique to keep it real. It's weird. But other than that the shop is great. I wish I could give them 4 1/2 stars.

3 stars for the location This nail shop is located in the heart of East Oakland. The area ia a little sketchy but common for an inner city. Definately not a place for relaxation because of the busy strip mall but they get the job done. I've been coming when I'm in the area off and on for the past 10 years. 4 stars for the service The owner Kelly is great! She does eyebrows really good and it's only $7 for a wax. A nail fill starts at $12 and my nails always come out great! $15 for a regular pedicure but for $5 more you get a sugar scrub and mint mask with massage. At $20 that's unheard in nearby cities. Bottom line if you're on a budget and in a hurry this is the place. P.S.The other bummer is they don't offer OPI polish. And it's cash only. M-Th 10-7 Fri&Sat 930-730 Sun 12-5

Kathy did a good job on my nails. But im not sure if ill go back again due to the fact that after going back the second time the nail color i have now is coming off (MOOD CHANGING).

First time here... I am happy... will be returning.

The guy that did my nails was funny and out going.. he made sure I was satisfied before moving on.

However my experience was less than ideal. I went in wanting dip as I was reading it was stronger and I've been struggling with lifting off builder gel. Multiple staff kept talking out of it and that their builder gel lasts a long time, uncomfortable but hopeful I said okay since Builder Gel is better for your nails in the long run. I got one color, builder gel on natural nails, and just a simple shape. Nothing too complicated I haven't gotten elsewhere before. I went home and thought it was fine for the money, $45 for builder gel + $8 tip. Probably wasn't going to return but also wasn't going to write a review. However, after 1 day my pointer finger nail chipped and started lifting and my middle finger also started lifting. I called and they said to come in and they would fix it. I went in and sat for 30 minutes until someone saw me -- had 3 different people come look my nails in the meantime but never start prep process, etc. After 30 minutes I was taken to a different station and she took maybe 15 minutes to "fix" the issue. Upon leaving and having a time to look better at my nails I still left unsatisfied. I chose not to go back a third time as I don't feel confident they will be able to actually do my nails well. I gave 2 stars as they did offer and attempt to fix my nails and didn't charge me for the "fix." I would be cautious going here as it seems your experience may vary...

All of the pricing in San Francisco is rather high in comparison to back home. I stumbled upon Vena's late at night scrolling through Yelp and couldn't be happier! The establishment is clean, the service was amazing, and I'd definitely come back again. I got a basic gel pedicure which was $50. I had grown out gel polish from about 3 months ago that they carefully removed. They even noted that the color I liked was sheer and recommended mixing 2 shades to make the color pop more. Other places would not provide their suggestion. The lady doing my pedicure was careful and kind. It took about 1 hour in total after finishing the gel and doing a massage/lotion with hot stone. I did not expect to be so pampered! I do highly recommend an appointment because they are BUSY! I had my pedicure on a Sunday and while they do take walk-ins, the salon was quite packed with existing appointments. They were honest with the long wait time with folks walking in which I appreciated as other places make you sit without real notice of when they can receive you. I can't wait to come back again and maybe try a manicure next time.

They said it takes more material for shorter nails. So the only way to not be charged extra is if you get a fill when your nails don't grow in between fills. Unfortunately I will have to find a new salon that doesn't charge extra for short nails. Edit: 1 star for Joe's reply. If the fill cost $60 because you have to shape the nails, just say it's $60. The point of getting a fill is to fill in the growth so of course if you keep your nails short, they will need to be cut short. Great work from staff. Dishonest management.

The nail techs consulted with me and explained to me the multitude of options. -Acrylic is the hardest and best if you work your hands -GelX is for when you add extensions to natural nails -Builder Gel is harder than gel and is for natural nails. -Gel a little harder than normal polish and also for natural nails The first time I went I got gel with Cateye. So cute. The set could have lasted me another week or two as there was no lifting. But, my nail cracked from the side. So I went a second time. This time I got builder gel. I could feel the difference in hardness. I have found that all the techs at NailEnvy are very meticulous and detailed with their work. The massages they give with their services is the perfect strength to relax your muscles. The designs they create on your nails are commensurate with the price you pay. Because they are creative and detailed, the designs are unique and awesome. They are so legit! The cost is comparable to other salons, not overpriced and competitive. As for cleanliness, their utensils and nail stations are clean. Making an appointment is super easy as they have a website where you can schedule at your convenience. If you want a specific nail tech, you need to call and make an appointment over the phone. But all of them are exceptional. The major distinction of this nail salon is the techs themselves. They are so happy and nice. It's a salon where I have a hard time leaving because the atmosphere is so friendly. I love looking at the designs they apply as they are all unique and astonishing. I highly recommend Envy Nails. They get a 5 star rating from me

The reason for 3 stars is solely dependent on the amount of time, and how much the services costed, a minor service issue as well, not terrible though. This is my first time here, i was taking a stroll on park and saw this place and peaked in and saw how luxurious and clean it looked, very big open space, lots of massage chairs, so i decided to pop and see for myself. So i stroll in around 4:30pm, for a new set and gel pedi. Typically both services take me at most 2 hours. I get sat down to remove my current acrylic set, this probably took at least 30-45 minutes. From the filing, to the soaking, removal, soaking again, and removal again. This is the longest I've ever experienced a removal. Then comes the cutting and shaping of my natural nails to prep for my new set. Finally i get moved to a massage chair to start my pedicure. I opted for the deluxe so this comes with a variety of things, from what i can remember, at least 2 masks, scrub, 10 minute massage, and hot rocks after. The total for this was $70, which is way more than what i would've normally paid at different locations, but I'm not knocking it, just isn't in my range but can be for someone else. Quality isn't great, but isn't bad. This is where my service issue/frustration comes in. My pedicure took almost 45 mins, and finally someone comes to start my set, or so i thought. She kept moving around, from one person to another, helping another client in between, but there are 3 other workers. I then get moved to a table, and I'm waiting again for about 10 minutes. She sits back down with me, and i thought okay great we're starting forreal now. Nope, we weren't. There was another client waiting, and she stops what she's doing with me, the gentlemen comes over and she moves to help the other client and he's now my nail tech. It is now 6:38pm and we're finally starting my set. Precise time because i was texting my bf to let him know bc this process was just taking so long. And i kid you not, the process from putting on the gel x nails, to shaping, filing, etc etc, i didn't walk out of there until 8:12pm. I did a very basic paint with cat eye polish. Typically 2 layers of paint, but he painted at least 5 layers before starting the cat eye magnetic process... In total i paid $168, and tipped $20. The amount of time spent there and the cost of it all, and being moved around from one person to another, ultimately costed the 2 stars. But again, this is just my experience i am sharing, and not to deter your decision to visit, because the quality of work is there.

First of all, the service is ALWAYS friendly and they do a great job of acknowledging business that walks in and ensuring waiting clients are comfortable; offering water or tea upon entering and providing a spacious, clean and comfortable waiting area. Also, this salon has to be the CLEANEST and most organized nail salon on the island. With recent decor upgrades, it's an even more beautiful and relaxing space. I can appreciate a staff who pays attention to details other than the work they do on nails. Especially with nail service prices climbin in general, it's nice that the salon puts a huge effort for the space to feel luxe and comfortable. Anyway, I came in with bare nails that needed help after 2 months of Gel X sets and fills. I opted for hard gel over my natural (itty bitty) nails to add strength and durability while I grow my natural nails out. For anyone curious, it's very similar to acrylic over natural nails or nail tips but the material is gel based (I think polygel?) The nail tech was kind, patient and thorough. After about an hour of work, my nails looked revived and despite the short length of my natural nails, they still looked bomb and cute. A little sparkly top coat on top of the milky pink hard gel and my manicure was done. I can't wait for my fill appointment when my nails are a bit longer and can start to be shaped out to the medium-short almond length I'm aiming for.

I broke one nail the night before and asked for a gel x one to replace the broken nail. My hope was to maintain the length that I worked hard to grow. The technician chose a nail that didn't fit my finger at all. Proceeded to awkwardly place the nail and glued/cured it down. Not only is it lifted and separated, it's misaligned. I can literally fit a metal file between the real nail and the pressed on one. When I brought this up, she proceeded to tell me that my nail is crooked and that's the reason for the gap.. *cue angelah Johnson's skit* I asked her to take it off and to try an acrylic nail instead since she didn't seem to keen on gel x. She refused and instead filed the sides more to 'fix it'. Bottom line is this, there's really only one token person who does all the different services well. Everyone else either seems to be fillers for simple manicure and pedicures. I'm tired of spending my hard earned money on techs that don't know how to do something you ask but attempts anyway and will not take accountability for when they mess up. This is not a nail school and the prices don't reflect it either. I now have to pay someone else, somewhere else to fix the one nail after spending $90 here. Let this be a PSA: We work too hard to earn our money for these life luxuries. Don't let shops like this make you feel like you're the problem when you bring up their wrong doing. You deserve to get what you pay for. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST.
