Came here for hookah only so I can't comment on the bar or the food but the place was very nice. I have been walking and driving by this place for years and never knew they had an indoors section which is pretty large. They have good hookahs and the pricing is pretty consistent with hookah prices within the area. The server was very nice and there was a pretty chill vibe in the place. I will come back and might try some of the food here too on my next trip. read more

*This review on Gitana is as only a hookah lounge* I came to know Gitana through an Armenian friend over a year ago and ever since it has become a staple. The hookah here is great. The coal runners are always fast, thorough, and attentive. Unfortunately the servers always have a bit of an attitude however. I can't recall a time when I've had good service here aside from the coal runners. Regardless, I really enjoy the atmosphere. They play a lot of old hip hop which earns them lots of points in my book and the patio is pretty large, so it's never a problem finding a table outside. Parking here is seamless as well. Gitana and Cafe O are connected to a huge municipal parking structure which is free, so that's a huge plus as well. My biggest complaint (other than the service) is the bathroom situation. Are they to code? I'm always waiting for the bathroom here which is profoundly annoying. If it wasn't for the great patio, music, and hookah I wouldn't go here. That being said, I'll continue to frequent Gitana and ultimately will continue enjoying it. read more

Hookah is very good here! The Pumpkin Pie hookah I had couple weeks ago was just amazing! They had a lot of stuff to choose from on their menus from hookah flavors to coffee and all that good stuff. I would go back any day. Down side for me though was that there was no air inside. I couldn't breathe I feel like I was choking. So definitely sit outside whenever you go. They should really open some doors up or something cause I couldn't breathe at all and my friends were saying the same thing but over all the hookah is great. Food is great. Service is great as well! I have been wanting to come to this spot for a long time and was not disappointed. I went for lunch and sat outside they have a really cute seating area. Nice tables , clean and plenty of shade and plants which I like. I ordered a lemon drop martini which was a bit high ($12) but worth it. I had the tabouli which was really good! I'm kinda picky about tabouli so I don't always like it but it was delicious. I also got a beef wrap and it was excellent. Seasoned perfectly. Delicious and healthy totally worth the price. This place was okay. Let me start with their drinks. The tea I ordered tasted weird and no matter how much sugar I added it still tasted biter. Their menu prices is expensive and not with it in my opinion. If u like quite small places this is an okay place to go. Great service, Yerevan is always attentive. Heather the new manager is sweet and attentive always making sure her customers are always well taken care of. Got a fatoush salad was great. Large portions of food so if you want food come hungry. When you ask for any hookah refills coals or even the heater on they are always on top of it. And they pour there liquor very nicely :). I only came here to smoke hookah... I've been here a grand total of 2 times... the first time I came here was to try it out... the second time I came here was because I lost a bet. Here are some things I would avoid from this place: Everything. The serviced sucked big balls. The food was as tasty as orphanage food. The atmosphere is as dead as a cemetery. I really like this place. That being said...I've only gone during "off hours" I think. I usually show up on Sunday nights or Saturday nights around 11:00 pm. We just sit outside, smoke the flavored tabacco and eat some of the yummy mediterranean appetizers that they offer. Oh and of course a hot cup of tea since it can get chilly outside. Sometimes they'll have an old basketball game on the projection screen against the brick wall outside. That can be entertaining. The waitresses are friendly, although sometimes difficult to get their attention. Overall, I'm a big fan of this place. We usually park on the street, but you can park in the public parking garage if you'd like too. There is indoor seating for the restaurant, but I've never actually been inside longer than a few seconds (to ask for a table outside). read more

Just another hookah lounge in Burbank. Gitanas over Cafe O, even though they are literally 500 feet apart. Have a full bar, usually change the tv to whatever channel you would like. Service is A LAG, hookah isn't that great. I mean I'm not a die hard Gitana lover but I do find myself going once in awhile. Their ceasar chicken salad is delicious and they brew starbucks, which is always a plus. Outdoor and indoor seating and they got awesome new furniture( outside). Great place to take a quick rest and enjoy hookah post-shopping, but don't recommend it for parties/large groups. P.S. I also hate the Palm Parking Lot structure, so that also plays a big role on my liking of this specific lounge. read more

This place is amazing to go too. Customer service is awesome, they always remember me and they'll talk to you and get to know you. Come here to get good tangier flavor cause it's the best hookah flavor you'll get. Ask for vahe to make you a head and it will always come out amazing. If you have heather as a waitress, be prepared for a really good experience. But all the other waitress are really good as well and they'll bring you anything you need within a good time. Be reasonable, there's almost always a lot of people outside and inside at night time. If they don't come to you at first ask again. They won't bite you. PS. Where can I start. I have been coming to Gitanas for years. This hookah lounge offers every flavor and brand I look for at a lounge. Namely one of the few lounges that packs Tangiers, always has a plentiful selection of all Tangiers flavors, and actually packs Tangiers CORRECTLY. Which any smoker frequenting lounges knows isn't as common as one would think it is. Tanya is our favorite server here, she is bubbly, friendly, and attentive. Always considerate of us and always taking care of us just as ALL the girls here do. They always take care of us. Food is phenomenal. One of the only places with good hookah where I don't dread eating. Shawarma sandwiches, Pizza, Deserts are all amazing. Everything is priced appropriately and it's great proximity to Downtown Burbank if you find yourself wanting to explore before or after visiting the lounge. Ample Parking in the lot with an entrance on Palm that has stairs leading right up to the lounge. Also keep in mind Tuesday's are free repack Tuesday's all day long!! Gitana Restaurant - Middle Eastern Near Me - Burbank, California

I've eaten here before on multiple occasions, and while visiting family I decided to introduce them to the deliciousness known as Gitana. I made a very dire mistake... The beef for the sandwiches and wraps was extremely underseasoned, near un-seasoned actually, as well as very rough and chewy. There was an attempt at flavoring it by smothering it with chopped parsley, tomatoes and onion, but this didn't work at all. If your base is bland and chewy, no amount of dressing up can save it. The bread on the beef kebab sandwich was very crumbly, seemingly a few days old. This made the sandwich a crumbling disaster as the bread couldn't maintain its structure and simply fell apart, spilling its contents into the container, onto my couch and onto the floor. I decided to seperate the beef from the parsley/tomato/onion mixture and toss it over to my two carnivorous dogs. To my shock neither would eat the meat, and I've never seen them turn down beef. Something ain't right when these two meat eaters are turning down a treat! Against my better judgement I forged ahead and ate the remnants of the sandwich, along with the unwanted leftover beef wrap we had. No point in wasting good food right? Wrong!! I spent a large portion of the night in the bathroom, my stomach angrily paying me back for the earlier meal. The deep fried pickles seemed to be overly fried and undrained, as each one was dripping with excess oil. Every other time I got these they were crisp & delicious, not soggy and gross. The Shirley temple was perfect, so I'm giving a bonus star for that. Not only was I disappointed, but I had to hear the groans of disappointment from a family that was looking forward to a delicious kebab sandwich meal. It's my fault for hyping up the place, but damn I never would've guessed the quality could fall so far so fast! I'm still hearing about the "horrible joke of a kebab sandwich" & "should've just got zankou not this" from them. I truly hope this was some form of bad night at Gitana, maybe new cook or something, because I really did love this place. read more

My friend invited me to eat here it was my first time! The food was great prices are comfortable! It's a very nice restaurant. The only bad thing was the service the waitress there look like they don't even enjoy their job. We had a very rude waitress last night she was a big girl with glasses and blue or purple hair. She took long to bring our drinks and didn't even apologize she was just there smoking hookah at a different table laughing. About 10 minutes after we got our food we wanted extra sauce we asked her for more, and she never came back with it. After 15 minutes of waiting I see a short girl with black hair bringing food to the table next to us we asked her if she can bring us more sauce and she brought it fast so I don't understand why the other waitress took more than 15 minutes just to bring us sauce! I had a stupendous time at Gitana's, but that's only because of the company. I went to a birthday last night, and each person was 25 dollars, but an open bar after 10 pm which was well worth it along with hookah. There's a dance floor, and there was a DJ, so it made for a fun night. The food is not that great. The hummus is bland, it needs garlic, and lemon. The tabuleh wasn't tasty, and the falafel balls were whatever. The fries were your typical frozen fries that you fry up. No biggy. The hookah was good, but not the best I probably wouldn't come here unless I was forced or invited to another get together. And, like every other hookah lounge, get ready to be stared at from top to bottom by nasty creepy guys. (You get used to it after awhile) read more

It's an understatement to say I love this place, My friends and I basically live here! It's one of the few hookah lounges that actually packs Tangiers bowls that don't burn within the first 10 minutes. I love the staff and the manager Mike, they all are amazing people who are all so kind and helpful. Not to mention the food is great and reasonably priced, I find myself craving the spicy bird wrap all the time! I highly recommend sitting in Abby's section, she's an amazing server who constantly checks up on her tables and never forgets any request her customers ask. Again, only giving this place 4 stars instead of 3 because I'm a regular. The outside is usually way too cold, and the inside is completely filled with smoke. Service is usually pretty slow, but the staff is friendly and the food is good. It's convenient to go there because it's local, but I prefer to go to Café O if it's earlier in the day. I like to go there at nights, if anything, because it's too cold to sit outside, and unlike Café O, they have plenty of inside seating. They're really good with accommodating requests. They'll put on a song if you request it, and they always have switched the channel whenever I've requested it even though it broadcasts on a huge wall and on all the TVs! Only downside is that it's usually hard to see the TVs from most of the seats because of where they are placed vs how the seating is arranged. Should note: -They have a full bar as well as Starbucks. -Lighting is dim, so even though it's an open floor-plan it's relatively intimate. -There's a smallish dance floor inside, but I've never seen anyone dance. Almost forgot to mention that they just remodeled the outside! Cool looking new furniture, and even though I complain about the cold, they have plenty of heaters! The hookah is good. I like getting Tangiers-Breakfast Cereal? But it's really over priced for what it is worth.. 30$ for hookah and two drinks? (One drink was a water bottle, and the other was just soda). At other hookah lounges, I can pay less than 25$ for hookah and even a plate of food. Service is quite slow because it is always packed. Not sure why this place has so many bad reviews. Gitana's used to be pretty bad a couple of years ago, but ever since they got Mike in as management and got Tangiers in the entire place has picked up again. I remember two years ago no one was in there. I remember a time where you would walk in and the owners would kind of would "watch" you from the corner, that was kind of awkward, but since then they seem to have let management take care of it and the place has really taken off! I really like that! Their food is a-okay. Not amazing, but it's pretty good for a hookah place. If you go to smoke there I definitely recommend Tangiers although they are almost always out which is the only annoying part about Gitana :( read more

Great place for hookah and drinks. The melon and mint flavor is my favorite. They also have really goof strawberry mojitos. It's an outside sitting area with not so many lights so it's perfect ambiance. The always play music which is nice. The spot is okay but the service needs a lot of work. The lounge opened at 6:00pm and we sat down and waited until 6:30pm to put in a order for hookah and 2 drinks. There was only one waitress and she apologized for the wait which it wasn't her fault but managements fault as for a lounge 1 waitress is not enough to manage when you know on Saturday nights you will be busy. My friend that comes here a lot, brought me for the first time. Good things, good things where do I begin?? It was really busy for a Tuesday night and it seemed like they were understaffed. The ladies working here were super nice but one waitress for each patio, seems ridiculous. I ordered the steak and eggs and it was amazing!! Only thing I've really tried here is the hookah, but honestly I prefer this location over the Cafe O which is right next door. Apparently owned by same person, but still believe Gitana is a lot better... Service is on point and their hookah is on point, however the thing that sells it is their atmosphere. Environment is nice if you prefer the low ambiance, and it seems like it would be chill to eat some nice Mediterranean food over a hookah and beer. They have a wide variety of options in terms of food and hookah, and everything appears to be in order. Waiters always come by to replace charcoal when need be, but honestly sometimes waitresses can be a tad bit annoying because they are constantly coming around asking if everything is okay, but that's never a bad thing from my experience. They take a little while to bring your checks but overall above satisfactory experience here at Gitana. read more
