Love this place ! But I always love me some baked goods! It's like a deli and bakery right in the heart of La Jolla village. Lots of goodies , mouthwatering selection of baked goods and reasonable prices. We ordered some shepherds pies, fruit tart and beautiful cookies to take back to our hotel to eat. Tasty! Definitely coming back :)

I love this place for sandwiches on fresh baked bread. If you know you know. I went for the high protein tuna option but my husband got some version of a gourmet hot sandwich and it was incredible. Service is fast and they know their items. Soups are good and usually multiple offerings. The setting is a small cafe vibe where you might think you are in NY or europe and it's so charming. A lot of nostalgia here as I have been coming for 20 years plus. Please don't change a thing!!!!

This spot for fresh sandwiches was epic. Everything is fresh and made to order. The fresh bread is amazing. The quiche, exquisite, filling and crust were perfect. My cousins fiancee found this place on TikTok and we heard great reviews. It did not disappoint. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

I've been coming here with my family ever since I was a kid. They have the best sandwiches and for very reasonable prices! I have fond memories of my sister and I looking at all the decorated cookies in the window. My go-to is their pate and salami sandwich. It's not explicitly on the menu but they'll make it for you! The sandwich is always loaded with pate and it's so delicious! There's so many other options on their menu as well; salads, soups, hot plates, pastries, cakes and they all look so good. I would definitely recommend a try here! The lines can get long sometimes but it's worth it! The service is friendly and the food is delicious!

I love their pate sandwich. It's pretty rich so I normally get half. Chicken salad had a good balance of chicken and veggies in the sandwich. The clam chowder was light and not heavy/creamy. It had mild smokey aftertaste. It was different at first but I enjoyed it and would get it again.b it balanced out the richness of the pate sandwich. The cowboy quiche is like a breakfast scramble in quiche form. It wasn't overcooked either. Would get again The fruit tart is not too sweet with a smooth custard like filling with fresh fruit on top. It's usually busy on Saturdays around 10am. There's some seating inside and outside. It's near a main Street so it's a nice spot to people watch as well. Lululemon is also next door if you want to browse afterwards

By far one of the best places to stop by in La Jolla! They have an amazing selection of baked goods, salads, and soups as well as amazing desserts that are worth trying. The workers are very helpful and ready to help any guest that walks through the door. Make sure you come check them out and the salmon quiche is a must get!

Amazing amazing sandwiches. Seems like this restaurant has been operating here for the past few decades, and despite the antiquity of their business operations, they continue to be a popular restaurant choice for locals and tourists alike. The inside is cozy I'll be at narrow and the spice selection is quite pleasing.

Came to this spot after my disappointing brunch somewhere else. This place saved my morning. The inside is very small and can be a little cramped with everyone waiting to order and get their food. However, the service is what makes this place top notch. All the workers here go above and beyond to make you comfortable. I ordered the salmon, some savory pies, and spaghetti. The food is what you expect for being microwave warmed. However, the taste hit the spot.

Unique, homemade entrees made with love and flavor! Such an assortment of hot foods, ie potpies, pastas, warm delish sandwiches. The pastries, oh my goodness! Every item looked baked fresh, fruit tarts, small individual pies, cooked galore. The service was wonderful and helpful. I believe the owner assisted me, so sweet and patient. I ordered a fruit tart with custard, phenomenal! My daughter the Girard sandwich which she said was incredible with a side of a Mediterranean salad, packed with flavor. Wish I had ordered a side myself, to go. Ambiance wise, basic wooden tables for 2 indoors, small back area and lovely small outdoor seating. When back in town, we will be back. Hubby ordered an Italian sandwich and potato salad to go...I'm sure it will be amazing.

Wow, what a neat shop for the senses. It includes almost anything you would want to put in a picnic basket and walk to the beach and enjoy. I wandered in taking pictures and looking at the goodies. The pot pies look amazing! I was too full to order anything but the folks behind the counter were very nice. Great service. Casual. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Street parking. Please come and create your own adventure.

I only had the rice pilaf(amazing!) and the sugar cookies(good). The food looks really good but everything is out in the open, 1/3 of it is in the sun uncovered. Flies flying everywhere and landing on everything with no attempt to stop the flies. I don't understand it at all. Idk how the health department lets this keep going on. I've been there twice now and cannot go back. The flies were worse this time than last! Great looking food but while likely make you sick.

What a nice surprise! Great deli right in the middle of all of the action in La Jolla. They show their pastries, meats and salads in glass cases. Everything looked fresh and delicious! Was hard to decide what to order because everything sounded so good. They offer 1/2 sandwiches which is great because they're a good size. We ordered 1/2 of a vegetarian and 1/2 of a roast beef sandwich and then a cup of the orzo salad. We split everything. Their whole grain bread is delicious! Both sandwiches were delicious and fresh. They use Dietz and Watson meats so it's good quality. Price is extremely reasonable. No room for a pastry this time. But will be back!

It was a really hot day, so we were happy to get an indoor table. The atmosphere was really cute and colorful, with lots of flowers and pink. Definitely a little girly for me, but my girlfriend loved it! There were a couple of small things that were a little off. We didn't really like that the drinking glasses were plastic. Also, we ordered a few lattes, including the pumpkin pecan latte, and one of the drinks that was supposed to be hot came out cold. We let them know, though, and they replaced it without any problem. The food was definitely the best part. They have a really good variety on the menu, and there were so many things that looked good it was hard to decide. I got the lobster Benedict, and my girlfriend got the steak and eggs. Both were really good! The ingredients tasted fresh and high quality, and everything was cooked and seasoned really well. No complaints at all about the food, it was fantastic. One other thing worth mentioning is the restroom! it was very clean, which is something we really appreciate when dining out. Overall, a great spot for breakfast/brunch with a beautiful atmosphere and, most importantly, excellent food. We'd definitely come back!

Took awhile to decide, but I finally chose this Chicken Caesar Sandwich, which came with Fried Buttermilk Chicken on Butter Croissant instead of the standard grilled chicken. For sides, I chose Truffle Chips (think that's what it was called??). My husband went with this Wild Mushroom Truffle Toast, with a side of Bacon. We both lapped it up...SO good!!! For drinks, I got this Matcha Milk Tea, which was OK...and my husband got black coffee. Service was a bit mixed...in that we got more service from random servers than our original waitress (or so we thought?). Despite the drinks and service being a bit off, our mains were SO good, and the overall vibe was so nice, I can't drop less than 5 stars.

We started with Crispy Coconut Shrimp, which was delish! Then shared this huge Rib & Chicken plate and this Vegan Ravioli dish. We were stuffed by the end of it. But then, given that they knew that this was our anniversary trip, the restaurant treated us to this amazing dessert (huge serving of ice cream with fudge etc.etc.)...and WOW! But, I decided on a 5 because, in the more than 30 years that I have been dining at the Brockton Villa, I've never had a bad meal, nor a marginal one, they've all been spot on. It's easy to enjoy the perch on the side of the hill, with an immediate view of the Cove and the further views of the Shores, Glider Port and on a clear day, Torrey Pines. What comes with that view, is the smell of nature, and on Tuesday, it was stronger. It didn't interfere with our meal. The wait staff are all friendly, experienced, and approach the table appropriately. I can't relate to a setting where the server is there every couple of minutes. I tend to eat there more for breakfast and lunch, dinners less commonly. The menu is diverse enough for 2 picky eaters to always find something fantastic. On Tuesday, I had the clam and crab chowder and it was superb. I grew up in New England, the epicenter of chowders. I am known amongst friends, for the many chowders that I make at home. The salmon BLT is a recurrent favorite, as is the basic breakfast, tweaked to your preferences, with a wide array of protein options. Always grateful for knowing, without question, that a guest in town will enjoy a meal there.

The family was pretty excited to try this place out and by the end of the meal, every single member of my family (all 5 people) were angry. The service was horrific. We came during lunch, they were not particularly busy and we were seated within 5 minutes. Let's start with the food. I ordered a $25 Wagyu burger and it was unseasoned. Not under seasoned, UNSEASONED. The patty was overcooked. I asked for medium rare and it was well done to a point where it was not even remotely enjoyable. This $25 burger did not come with fries, it came with a very small bowl of salad that had no salad dressing. The wrap my wife ordered was mediocre and lacking any flavor. The shrimp inside was good but everything else was bland. The one thing that was good was the seafood chowder. It was excellent. Very flavorful and rich. The best tasting thing at our table were the children's tater tots and the clam chowder to be very honest. Now onto the service. The service is arguably worse than the food. The waiter looked annoyed to take our order but what is egregiously worse than that is that in our entire time sitting there eating our food for more than 45 minutes, our server (or any member of the wait staff) literally did NOT come back once to check on us or ask us if the dishes were good or to give anyone water refills (we ordered a coke and that was not refilled the entire meal). I want to reiterate, we literally did not get a refill of our waters or the coke we ordered 1 time the entire meal. Our waters were empty 10 minutes into the food arriving but because no member of the wait staff came by to check on us, we resorted to drinking out the water bottles we brought ourselves. We tried to flag down a member of the wait staff 3 times and after, my wife just said 'let's just try to get out of here as soon as possible. This is ridiculous'. I also want to be clear, we were not in a separate room or in the corner, the door of the restaurant was visible, the bar where they serve alcohol was visible from our table. The wait staff just chose not to check on us and ignore our hands in the air trying to flag them down. They came after more than an hour to drop off the check without saying anything to us or ask about how the food was. We were so angry by that point we did not even bother to ask for a refill of water or coke. We just wanted to leave as soon as possible.
