    The gringo

For the people reviewing this place for being too expensive, do you know you're in bird rock? You think they can charge Dunkin' Donuts prices and make money with quality ingredients in this location? This place this delicious. The gringo breakfast sandwich always hits the spot with its savory sweet mix. The homer donut was great- yes the icing does crumble a little but absolutely nothing crazy like the other review mentioned lol. We also got the jalapeño Cesar wrap which was so flavorful and filling. For a locals spot in bird rock with great decor and vibes, this place is a 10. Donuts, yummy food, coffee, check check check.

Such a great remote working spot! On the main strip in bird rock so really easy to find parking in a spot or in the surrounding neighborhood. The chocolate glazed donut was so delicious and not too sweet. The interior was gorgeous, so colorful with a good amount of tables for working at. The breakfast burrito and sandwich looked and smelled amazing so I will definitely be coming back to try.

Whipped iced coffee and macadamia cookie. Both basic

This place is a one and done for me. My friend and I wanted to check out this coffee and donut shop in Bird Rock and will most likely not be back. I got the whipped iced coffee and with it having brown sugar in vanilla in it I thought it would be at least a little bit sweet and it was not. It was an $8 overpriced drink. And I got one cookie that I believe was five or $6 and it was very basic. I think I paid $16 in total for something mediocre. Also the service was very slow. My friend and I sat at a table and it took about 15 minutes for them to bring over our drinks and then we had to even ask about the cookie and donut which she should have handed us to us right away as they were right there at the counter. My friend got the donut that was blueberry I believe. And she said the flavor was good but the donut itself is very dry and heavy. They are more of a thick cake type donut. The decor is cute inside but that's all it has going for it. There is street parking and most of it's in a residential neighborhood. It was easy to find parking in the day but just know that that's how it is. They do not have a designated lot.

Dear Yelp Community, First time visiting last weekend. I must say, this is a fancy donut shop, so truly commend whoever made the design decisions. Pretty neat that this shop connects with a restaurant through a passage way between the venues (see photograph). The donut itself was dense and really good! This venue gets really busy and the wait is really long, just for a donut, since that is all I ordered and really what I could write on. I almost ordered the pistachio latte, but did not, yet I am mentioning because I was impressed this is on the menu (and the menu does look great!). Well wishes. Sincerely, Anna

    ESPRESSO & TONIC

Cafe is nice and spacious, good seating and a nice bathroom! I stopped by today for some coffee and was very disappointed by the espresso & tonic for $8. It was flat and there was no "orange twist" as described in the menu. It was also not obvious where we were supposed to pick up our drinks.

Cute place to relax or catch up on work. Inside was super clean and quite. The cinnamon twist donut was very good. It was super fluffy and tasty. The Dodo Whipped wasn't my favorite but still very tasty. Good customer service. Thanks Dodo Bird Donuts for a good first time experience here.

Beauty and quality! This place is so gorgeous inside. It is a photo worthy location; the walls, dishes, food, and tables. Everything is so cute!! The food is amazing. So it's not just beauty but tastes amazing too! I had vegan avocado toast and my husband had the gringo breakfast sandwich both were so good, I honestly could've had another. The coffee matches everything else. It's displayed beautifully and tastes great. We couldn't help but get a donut appetizer. After ordering. You are free to find a place to sit. Unfortunately, all the tables were full, or many had to be cleaned. So we cleaned it up ourselves and handed the plates to staff. Once we sat down, the food didn't take long to get there. Parking wasn't hard to find, and it's in a great location where you could go for a walk after. This place is great for friends to get together, a breakfast date, or to bring the kiddos.

Stale tasting donuts. The thick layer of icing was so hard.

Overpriced for what it is. To be clear, I don't mind paying anything for food if it's good. This wasn't the case here. $37 for only 2 donuts and 2 coffees that anywhere else could have done better. The donuts tasted a day old and I asked for a HOT latte that was given to me lukewarm almost cold. Save your money and go elsewhere. If your specialty is donuts, they should at least be fresh.

Such a gorgeous interior! I love the eclectic design. The coffee is good, but the donuts not so much

Walked here from Windansea to get coffee. What a quaint donut shop as you enter Bird Rock! Decor is pink with exotic green plants. I should've gotten a donut to go with my Cajeta Latte (delicious and creamy even with oat milk!) since I was at a donut shop but I opted for the V'ocado or Vegan Avocado Toast instead. Lots of amazing flavors in the focaccia bread and on top of the avocado: garlic, furikake, and cilantro. Service was efficient and quick. Nice spot to hang out then walk over to the coastline to check out Bird Rock.

The interior is truly so stunning. The most gorgeous green walls! Love grabbing a lil donut and coffee, and sitting to do work here. So charming.

Maple donuts weren't bad. $3.50 per donut seemed high though.

Really not sure why this restaurant chose this name. Stopped in early Sunday morning as they were opening. I wanted to bring home donuts and was surprised ( disappointed) they had a total of 3 types of donuts. I asked if more were coming but the answer was that those 3 varieties would be replenished. My 2 maple frosted donuts were $3.50 apiece! They were ok but at that rate it's $42/ dozen - I'll pass. The place looks more like a breakfast restaurant ( they start breakfast service at 8 AM) that sells a few varieties of donuts. Can't say they're a donut shop by any means. Girl behind counter wasn't particularly friendly. I've read a few other reviews with similar comments so maybe it wasn't just because it was early on a Sunday. I still left a tip but I'm not sure why I did. One and done for me unless I get invited by a friend to have breakfast there.

Super cute donut & coffee shop in Bird Rock! I must say though, the breakfast sandwich was the star of the show! I ate every last bite and it was outstanding. They have a choice of 3 different ones- I went with the gringo (hillikers egg, American, crispy bacon, butter lettuce, Dijonaise and tomato jelly). It was so delicious! I got some donuts to go- there were only 4 options at the time so I got one of each. They were definitely good, but for the price nothing that special. They did have a nice reusable tote I got to hold the box. The cold brew coffee was to die for- great work there! The reason I didn't give 5 stars- it was expensive for what it was; $35 for a coffee, sandwich and 4 donuts. The other reason was that when I asked if the donuts that were on display were all they had left I was told yes. It was after noon, so i figured it was a sold out issue, but not even 5 minutes later they brought out 2 trays of fresh (hot) donuts. I would have much preferred to have one of those (flavor wise and how do you beat a fresh, warm donut?). Not deal breakers at all; but hence my reason for 4 stars versus 5. Would def go back!

Super decadent and filled with cookies. The gooey butter was also good too but too soft for my liking. The bear batter ice cream is always a classic. Reminds me of an Oreo ice cream. All of this came out to about $8 which isn't bad. For anyone who has a sweet tooth or just craving some sweet, this place is for you! It's also such a rewarding treat to get on a hot day. We come to PB once a year around the holidays, and love trying new places. We are often looking for…read morenew places to grab a drink, or have coffee in the morning. We try to stay away from S-Bux in favor of trying and supporting the local spots! This is actually the second year in a row that we've come to Pump. We first discovered it last year during a combination of Yelp searches, and a little A-Frame sign they have along the boardwalk. The reviews were mostly all good, and we quickly understood why. LOCATION & INSIDE: Located in a little outdoor shopping center, the inside itself is pretty small. Amongst different areas, there is room for around a dozen or less people to sit inside. They have a little space against the wall across from the counter where they sell shirts and other items such as travel mugs, glass sippers, and mushroom coffee! There are a few additional tables out front, but I recommend taking your coffee down for a stroll along the beach if the weather permits. DRINKS: This is a pretty typical coffee shop in terms of offerings, with options including regular coffee, cold brew, pour-over, espresso, cappuccino, americano, latte, tea, tea latte, and hot chocolate. They have several options for most categories, including a Caramel Macchiato, (White) Mocha, and a Rose Lavender latte, to name a few. They also have seasonal drinks, which are currently a Tiramisu Cold Brew and a Peppermint White (Chocolate) Mocha. For tea lattes, they have items like a Chai Latte, Matcha Latte, and even a few variations of those. The first time we went (last year), we got hot drinks. This most recent time we went (a couple days ago) we went with iced lattes. The wifey ordered the Rose Lavender, and I got the French Vanilla latte. We both loved our drinks, and were very happy with our decisions. It's only a difference of $0.50 to go from small (12oz.) to large (16oz.) and +$1 to have an alternative milk. We love to use oat milk, as it helps create an extra creamy drink. While they don't typically have their own cold foam per-se, they were able to add some of the whipped mascarpone from the tiramisu latte on top. Honestly this was the perfect topper to an already incredibly creamy and delicious drink. They also added some dried rose petals to the lavender one, which was a nice aesthetic. FOOD: There are just a few options, including various croissants and vegan pastries. They don't have a full kitchen, so the stuff isn't freshly made in-house. For the animal friends in your life, they also offer a Puppaccino for $1! OVERALL: This is definitely a place worth stopping for some quality coffee. They generally have 2 people working, unless one's on break or something. The service is pretty casual, and can take a while if there's a line. They take an order, then make the drink. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming, and this is definitely a place we have added to the rotation during our annual holiday trip! IG: @bbnem.eats
