Such a perfect brunch spot! I came here with my sister on Saturday around 1pm and it was quite busy and lively. But we only had to wait about 15 minutes before we were seated at the counter. Service was fantastic! I requested the emerald city scramble with egg whites only and they were very accommodating. My sister got the corned beef hash with a biscuit on the side. Both dishes were delicious and very satisfying. The biscuit was especially tasty! It had a lovely crisp on the outside and was moist and fluffy on the inside. Would love to try their French toast next time because it looks epic! read more

My boyfriend said this place would cure someone's depression - that's how good it is. He had the ultimate and subbed the pancakes for French toast! This is the type of place where everything on the menu is fantastic, but it would be a crime to not try the French toast. The service was quick and lovely. Bring cash to avoid a service fee! We will be back very soon!!! read more

Geraldine's Counter - Daily special: scramble with chicken sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers, and cheddar. Plus sourdough and hash browns! - American Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Some of the best french toast I have ever had, without a doubt! Geraldine's became one of my favorite places to get breakfast in Seattle. However, keep in mind that they usually always have a wait, especially for larger groups. So, get there sooner than later if you can. I also got the Emerald City Scramble, which is also super yummy! Everything I've had from here tastes homemade and apart from the wait, I have no complaints when it comes to Geraldine's. read more

We used to love heading to Geraldine's pre COVID with its comforting bright interior and remember heading for breakfast for special days. We've had to be a bit more careful post COVID since our youngest child has an autoimmune disease. It was such an ease this morning to order breakfast using their toast tab app for our 10 yr old's birthday (ten breakfast orders for family) which was efficiently packed in separate to go boxes in a huge cardboard packing box. Most importantly it was just enjoyable as we remember it from the scrambles, to french toast, to pancakes, to the chicken fried steak. read more

Out of towners looking for a good breakfast and this is where we landed. From the first greeting by our server, Christina (sorry if I spelled it wrong!), we were sure we chose the right spot. She seemed so genuinely kind and welcoming! The atmosphere in the whole place was the same. Don't overlook the corned beef hash! This is NOT your grandma's recipe from a can - so glad we read the description and realized how delicious that would be! And the biscuits and gravy were the best I've had in any restaurant - plenty of sausage in the gravy and great biscuits. Thanks for a great visit! read more

Went to Geraldine's Counter 3 times in 2 weeks. (1- Dine-in & 2- Togo!) Geraldine's famous French toast is crispy on the outside and soft inside. I strongly recommend ordering it. The choice of fruit toppings is different according to the season. Their biscuits & gravy is also delicious. I usually order with hash brown and scrambled eggs. Dine-in- Geraldine's Counter has a long wait on the weekends so that takeout might be a better alternative. Takeout- Fast and convenient. The staff is attentive and friendly. read more

Great place for breakfast!! Service was wonderful. April that served us knew the menue well and had a ton of reccomendstions! The owner even came over to greet us and make sure we were enjoying our food. Food was amazing. We even had to order a second round of their home- made biskets!! The food presentation was wonderful with the way they plated things, the freshness and colors of the food. The place was clean. We were seated right away. They have street parking. The serving team seems happy to work there!! read more

First meal in Seattle and wow!! The French Toast was spectacular I will definitely be back!

Really enjoyed breakfast here! Love their French toast and that you can get a half order. The atmosphere was nice and the staff was great.

My friend found Geraldine's through Yelp, and she sent me the link and I was instantly intrigued by the retro diner aesthetic. We went on a Saturday around 12:30 PM without a reservation and it was insanely busy. It was so busy inside that bar seats were not even open. There were so many groups waiting to be seated that the small waiting area was filled and it was busy out the front door. The list to be seated was a good old fashion legal paper pad with names written in ballpoint that you could add yourself to the list for. It did not feel disorganized though- staff were ever present and keeping things moving like clockwork. It was a 40 minute wait, so my friend and I visit the local shops nearby and came back just in time to save seated. Something that stood out was a large chalkboard menu with daily specials. The reusable menus we received are clear, well laid out, and not so expansive that it is hard to decide what to order. It's also a pretty classic menu for a diner with just small twists for the specials. We ordered fried chicken steak with gravy, hash-browns, eggs, and the special French toast with apricots and bloody Mary's. The bloody Mary's were reasonably strong, but well mixed (not too thick or thin). The chicken fried steak was a tad small but the serving of gravy was extremely generous and enough to mix with the hash browns and still have some to spare. The French toast was the star of the show though. The toast looked and tasted homemade. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. It wasn't overly thick or heavy, and was so perfectly balanced that it did not need extra fruit or even syrup to achieve the perfect taste. I wish I lived closer and could taste their rotating French toast specials since I would definitely order it again. I would definitely recommend visiting- the service is speedy and anticipates your needs and the food tastes uniquely homemade and is a fresh take on diner classics. read more

Delicious, family friendly brunch spot in Colombia City! I love the home-y feel this place has. I got the Emerald City Scramble with the hash browns on the side (not mixed in) and it was delicious! This place was fantastic for a good standard breakfast. It can be so hard to find breakfast that isn't over the top with fancy meats and ingredients that don't feel approachable. This menu was extensive and had options for everyone at the table. They have a special omelette, French toast, coffee cake and pancake option each day. We tried two of the egg options and the French toast with the homemade blueberry compote. Everything was fantastic, including the service. I will definitely return here the next time I'm in the neighborhood. As an update, they do NOT have outdoor seating. Also, you will likely need to wait for a table, but it surely worth the wait! read more

Does Geraldine's even need another highly rated review? :) it's been years since I've come here, so I decided to come again recently after craving good French toast and remembering they do it well here. Well my memory served me right bc it's still the best French toast! I love the crisp and light texture to it, and it's the perfect amount to share. It's always served with seasonal fruit too. My husband and I split an order of the French toast and also got the biscuits and gravy, and it was the perfect amount of food for us for brunch. The biscuits and gravy were great too - loved that the sausage bits were noticeable in the gravy, and loved that it was served with eggs and hash browns - the perfect combo! Overall, solid brunch spot! It does get busy and they don't take reservations, but go expecting a wait, and know that it'll be worth it :) Can't get better than breakfast and brunch served all day here! read more

Went on a saturday around 11am and this place was packed! We put our name down on the list and waited outside for 20 min before being called in as a party of 2. My table ordered the french toast and chicken fried steak. These reviews weren't joking when they said that the french toast is the best in town. Chicken fried steak was okay since I wasn't a big fan of the gravy but my partner loved it. Service was good and they have AC! read more

Geraldine's is a gem run by wonderful people. The good is consistently wonderful. Try the biscuits. But everything is good.

Brunched at Geraldine's today for the first time and I'm hooked. I ordered the Slammin'- 2 eggs, bacon and 2 pancakes. The pancakes were the daily special (nice surprise) and were served with strawberry butter. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. Bacon was thick cut and tasty and the pancakes were probably the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Also ordered a biscuit togo, cause I cannot go to a restaurant which serves homemade biscuits without getting at least one togo. That's tomorrow's breakfast And though they were completely slammed busy, everyone was so nice and the food came out quickly. Yep, I'll be back. Oh also, easy parking with the public pay lot around the corner. $2.00 per hour read more

Stumbled upon this place after getting off a long flight. We were seated immediately. The place is spacious and light and there was room to drag in all our suitcases since our Airbnb wasn't ready yet. I ordered the pesto scramble which was unique and delicious with so much flavor. We were looking to strike out of our normal area and find a new spot. Why not try the wonderfully reviewed Geraldine's? The wait was about 40 minutes on a Sunday around noon. we just flew in from California. Looked up breakfast places and of course we're with the best rating. I can say without a doubt this is the best place I have ever been to. One of our favorite places to get a delicious breakfast with competitive prices. They make a French toast that cannot be surpassed. The best ever. Everyone I've introduced to Geraldine's, walks away wanting more of their French toast. It is served with seasonal fruit on top. Having said that, I would not recommend their vegan burger. It came without any condiments and tasted horrible. I've had better vegan burgers sold in the frozen food aisle at Safeway! The burger was dry and tasteless. The bun was as dry as paper. And ii had an after taste that was similar to dry lard. Ugh. Their other lunch entrees are good though. I still recommend this place for dining! read more

I stumbled across Gerladines this summer and BOY am I glad I did. It is now my GO TO brunch spot. I live no where near it and I make sure to find my way there whenever I get a chance. My first visit was their version of a Reuben, DANG it was tasty. Their house made sauce is perfection and the fresh cabbage refreshing. All their dressings are made there and you definitely want the ranch with the perfectly cooked fries. I think their biscuits are pretty much perfection and the freezer jam a great compliment, so I always upgrade to a biscuit *taste the biscuit, taste the goodness*. Speaking of perfection, the hashbrowns! Crispy, brown, a little bit of soft in the middle....all the textures and tastes you need from diner hasbrowns. The chicken fried steak is awesome, while its quite a meal, it doesn't make me feel overly heavy somehow. And speaking of lighter fare, the salads are just spectacular...back to that hand made dressing and fresh ingredients. Everyone raves about the french toast, and for good reason. They have a perfect balalnce of Crunchy exterior, softer interior, flavor and right sized portion. I love that it can be added as a half order to anything, solivng my eternal brunch dillmema of "savory or sweet" with the right answer, BOTH! Some attendence tips: - They're open just till 3, going closer to close means no wait. When there is a wait, it moves pretty darn quick! - - The waitstaff is awesome and will take care of you quickly cause the service is super quick too. Please take care of them! - You get a 10% discount for paying cash. Every pretax and tip $10 paid for in cash gets a $1 Geraldine Buck to spend next time. FINALLY! I made it to Geraldine's for brunch on a Saturday morning. Luckily, it only took about 15 minutes to get a table for two around 10:30AM. They take your name and number of people on a list in the front and then you can just wait outside until they call you. They seated us, handed us menus, and filled cups of water. The menu is pretty long so it took some time for us to decide what to get. I ended up ordering the spinach, feta, basil & tomato omelet with hasbrowns and a biscuit (~$16). The food came super fast and was very tasty. It was kind of a lot of food for one meal so I ended up taking some of mine home. The service was great and for being such a busy place, I didn't feel as if they were rushing to take our order or rushing to kick us out. I always appreciate places that keep it casual and non-rushed. It was a great brunch spot and I'd definitely go back to maybe get something sweet! read more

Come early because there is almost always a line-even during the week, but weekends are crazy. Service is really good and efficient and they move quickly-food comes out fast. They also have adult beverages in the morning (and lunch). Breakfast casserole is excellent. Biscuits and pork gravy are excellent. Lots of meat in the gravy. Really good chicken fried steak. Get the hash browns crispy, they can be a little limp and wimpy. It is loud and cold. But the food is worth it. read more

Food is amazing dinner food that isn't greasy and hits the spot. They have deep fried French toast which is so good for even someone who doesn't love French toast. I got the chicken fried steak plus hash browns and eggs. The sausage gravy was standout and the biscuit was so buttery. My husband got a scramble with pork sausage which he loved as a filling but overall lighter fare that didn't big him down all afternoon. Service was great. We got there at 8:05 (5 min after opening) and we're third in line. Waited about 20 min for a spot and walked to Olympia coffee while waiting (or coffeeholic is you like Vietnamese coffee). It was a great brunch and they didn't crowd us despite there being so many people. You did wait outside for the most part so be prepared for that. The waitlist is just pen and paper so no reservations or people calling you. read more

Geraldine's Counter is a super cute breakfast spot in Columbia City! I'm not usually in this neighborhood, but I was getting my car serviced nearby and needed to kill some time. The place is really easy to find and parking was relatively quick. We found a spot around the corner, but it is metered, so you have to pay. We showed up around 10 AM on a Saturday and there was a wait, but it wasn't that bad. Most people just stood outside but there are a couple of places inside where you can sit. Once we got seated, I felt very comfortable and safe. The tables are spaced wide apart, so you aren't bumping into anyone else. Also, all of the workers had masks on and they checked vaccine cards at the door. I ordered the Emerald City Scramble (pork sausage, hash browns, spinach, sweet bell peppers, onions, eggs, and pepper jack served with toast). It was delicious and I recommend it. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience. The only thing that bothered me is the noise level. It is really loud in there from everyone talking, but luckily my husband and I just play on our phones while we eat LOL. read more

1000% you need to go here for brunch! I would recommend going early. It seems like a place that will always have a wait for brunch. It's a cute litter diner feel. Our entire experience was great. The wait wasn't terribly long. We sat down and we're waited in right away. We ordered the Bloody Mary ceasar, grapefruit mimosa, raspberry mimosa, traditional mimosa, biscuits and gravy, and slammin breakfast. The Bloody Mary wasn't anything special but it was still good. All of the mimosas were freshly squeezed and were amazing. Definitely recommend the grapefruit one. As for the food, if you only get one thing, get the French toast. I'm serious. It is the best French toast I have ever had and will do everything i can to try and recreate it at home. I wish I had just gotten that. Everything else was amazing too. Biscuits and gravy were delicious! My boyfriend loved the slammin breakfast too. I cannot emphasise this enough...get the French toast! There was a lot of hype leading up to our visit at Geraldines and we waited an hour and a half on a Sunday to lock down a spot inside for brunch. The service was great- our waitress was very kind and very on top of it! The bloody marys were pretty good too but based on other reviews I have seen I feel like I might have had too high of expectations. The corned beef hash was delicious, and the rest of the food was so-so; almost what you would expect if you visited a mediocre cafe. All in all, I would eat here again to explore the menu a bit more, but do not think that I would wait that long. Worth a visit for sure! read more
