This is a good casual place for a burger, or plenty of other selections. We were there on Burger Night where the prices were great and the fries were bottomless, so you couldn't go wrong. While the beers were prominently displayed with their logos on the walls and ceiling. There was no evidence of other beverage selections on their menu, or on a table stand, which seemed a bit odd to me. I went to generations for the first time. The bill was $33 and we left a cash tip. I was charged $98.00 on my credit card. I called and spoke with the Mananger, Matt. So good! Not sure if all the restaurants in Wheeling "4 Star Yelp worthy," or if we just got lucky on our first night here...but this food is definitely worth "Yelp-ing" about! We ordered: cheese "stix," chicken sandwich with peppers and onions, 14 wings (Parmesan and hot), cheese quesadilla, fries with Cajun seasoning and a cheese pizza. The cheese quesadilla had a a light kick to it- so much better than your "average quesadilla." The wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The cheese pizza looked amazing as soon as we opened the box. I won't lie- the cheese was so tempting, I took a bite right before placing it on my son's plate. The warm, gooey cheese was worth eating by itself! I was planning on posting pics here...but the food was so good, I kept saying "after one more bite." And...now all the food is gone:) I guess I should have posted a picture of my husband licking his fingers after devouring the wings! My review is based on having eaten many items including nachos, pierogis, French fries, burgers, wraps, pasta, and more. For example, I recently ate their nachos and the cheese looked like it had been applied days before I arrived, it was cold, and toppings were slopped on top in no particular method. OMG their pierogies are off the hook. I live in Texas (grew up in Pittsburgh) and you really don't get pierogies down there, so it was a real treat. I got them just sauteed with butter and onions with sour cream on the side. They were perfect; slightly crispy and light pasta exterior, and the cheese filling was delicious. Their sour cream was also super good..actually tasted slightly sweet which was very yummmy. Drinks were also good- I got a tanqueray tonic and it was strong and well priced. Pierogies can often be overly heavy but theirs were just right. I ate the entire serving without feeling overly full. Looking forward to checking them out again! read more

Generations is a great restaurant in the city of Wheeling! It is located where Major Samuel McColloch landed from Wheeling Hill and survived. I always get their garlic Parmesan wing and garlic Parmesan Pierogis! For my meal I get a 4 slice Margarita pizza! The food is Delicious!! I came in with a group on a rainy day and decided to sit on their spacious outdoor deck. We started with their 4 play: 4 wings, 4 cheese sticks, 4 zucchini strips and 4 pierogies. The pierogies were the star of the show, it was the first time I've ever had them fried instead of steamed. I found the idea of adding Buffalo sauce to them totally weird, so I went with what I think was a light garlic herb sauce and that worked really well. Crispy on the outside, warm potato on the inside. Nice. I decided to try the Sidewinder, a salad that is definitely an entree. I mean, massive portion. It comes with smoked chicken, corn, pico de gallo, greens, vegetables, Mesquite dressing and two massive piles of two kinds of shredded cheese. Oy. I also got a pasta dish I can't recall, honestly we had ordered so much food that I think I slipped into a coma. It was solid. If you stop by, be sure to say hi to the pope. I went in thinking wings or pierogi, but Thursday night being burger night changed my mind. The place is easy to find and it's huge on the inside. I only experienced the bar, but feel free to explore when you're there. I chose this place based on a picture of the bar and, while it didn't live up to atmosphere expectations, it was still a great place to have 2 beers and a dinner. The whole area was dimly lit, which I guess makes it easy to see the TVs (and drink in). The bar is huge and was sparsely populated on my visit. There were no waiters in the whole bar area and those sitting at tables would have to come up to the bar. I didn't visit the outside area, but it looked interesting. The bartender was very nice and they had a beer for everyone's taste. The Beer-B-Que burger was great, though it was probably a frozen party, the rest of the toppings made up for it. The beer batter fries were probably not made from scratch but again very good. It was good. Not great enough to keep me from wandering next time I'm in Wheeling, but definitely good. read more

Only been here once but I can't wait to go back next time I'm in WV. The restarting is huge and the bat extends to an outside deck that overlooks the river and plays live music on certain nights. The whole restaurant is decorated with the family's personal sports memorabilia; we tried to bargain with one of the owner's sons for an autographed baseball photograph. The big draw for us is the deck overlooking tree shaded Wheeling Creek. We always get the Yuengling battered fish bites for apps.
