We had takeout from here recently-and it was excellent! It's a small place so all the food is made to order-but it is definitely worth the time to wait! I had the grilled chicken sandwich-it was everything you would hope for! Juicy and tender-served on a firm bun,accompanied by iceberg lettuce and a slice of tomato! I would be delighted to eat it again! My companions had the Rueben and all commented on how great it was! We also had a pickle burger and it was delicious! We loved our first visit to Pickles! Food was delicious - especially the fresh cut fries and wings. Beer was ice cold, service was good, and vibe was exactly what we were looking for. It was really busy when we were there on a Saturday night - bar was full and we got the last table in the dining area. We snagged a couple seats at the bar after we ate and it was great fun. Three people were covering the whole front of the house - tables and bar, food orders and drinks. They were hopping and killing it. We didn't have a long wait for anything to come out to us. We tried Pickles while traveling from Pittsburgh to Columbus for dinner. The staff was awesome they let us sit with our dog toward the back of the bar at a high top we had a Philly cheesesteak and steak salad and for our dog a grilled hot beef hot dog. Everything was made Great and was delicious it is a Nice bar with great food and service. Definitely will be a pit stop next time. read more

Found this place online. Super close to the highway. There is parking behind the building though it seems most people street park out front. My husband, baby, and I came in on a Thursday around 1pm. Seemed like the bartender was also serving in multiple rooms. She was friendly, albeit a little slow in service (though she was hustling). We ordered the fried pickles and a ciban sandwich with a side salad ($2 upcharge). The salad came out first and it was quality fresh greens, cheese, tomato, olives, cucumber, and green peppers. Very nice. The fried pickles were good but also came out with a boatload of fried dough pieces on the plate. Not sure they were worth the $10 cost. The cuban sandwich was super yummy and plenty big for 2 people. Prices were a little elevated but it was well worth the stop. Would happily come again! read more

My family stopped through here before touring a World War II battleship! It definitely hit the spot! My boneless wings we're delicious, especially the bacon ranchero sauce! It's definitely a bit of a dive bar vibe, but the service is good and everyone enjoy their food! Great place to go catch a football game or grab a quick bite. We found this great neighborhood pub as we were driving home from Ohio to Pennsylvania. Everything was clean, no frills, no fuss. We sat at the bar and the service was friendly and fast. I had the Cheesesteak and my husband had the hot Italian sub. Both came with fries. The sandwiches were huge and delicious. Loved this bar! My daughter and I were on a road trip and decided to find some chicken wings. She found this bar, and we made the side trip to check it out. The chairs turned when we walked in, but everyone was so friendly to a couple non-locals. We laughed and talked with numerous people and had some of the best chicken wings ever! If you didn't know it was there you would never find this place. Once you do find it however you will want to keep coming back. We sat in the bar so not sure what the seating area is like. The menu has a lot of choices from wings, burgers, sandwiches and salads. We opted for the queso dip which was amazing and 2 choices of wings ( Thai peanut which was sweet and little tang and kitchen sink which was HOT) So many choices it was a rough call we asked our server for suggestions. When visiting from out of state, finding something local that's not a local chain is a must. Pickles Eatery & Bar definitely delivered that for us, we got the fried pickles (you have to considering the name) sweet chili wings, chipotle chicken salad, Mushroom Swiss burger and Bourbon burger with hand cut fries , all of the food was excellent. They had a great variety of local beer and their service team were attentive and went above and beyond to help us. Showed up with a bigger party. (17)Waited about 25 minutes for ANYONE to come talk to us. Then a lady walks in, gets our numbers and gets her attitude and was never seen again. Then a guy comes in and says if you have more than 7 we can't serve you without a reservation So I said " we can split up" there were enough tables that there were still empty seats. We just moved to wheeling and we can honestly say that this is our go to place. While it feels like a bit of a hole in the wall, it's worth the trip. The fried chicken wrap with their mild sauce is the best Buffalo chicken wrap we've had in the city thus far. Their fry sauce and dill pickle sauce are great. Drink selection is also impressive. Bar is nice and the dinner area around the corner is a good getaway from the bar crowd. Can't recommend pickles enough! read more

The food was excellent! Had a steak hoagie and chicken wrap. Wonderful cocktails - killer Bloody Mary with olives, celery and pickles. Servers were wonderful - I asked our waitress if there was somewhere close by that I could buy an iPhone charger- she told me Sheetz, but then offered to charge my phone on the bar while we ate! We were on our way to a concert and my charger had conked out on the way (I was afraid that my battery wouldn't hold up for photos and videos). I had lunch at Pickle's today and it was a great experience. I had the loaded tater tots as an appetizer, and the Fulton Philly as my sandwich. The tots were nicely smothered in melted cheese and bacon. They also provided a generous amount of ranch dressing. The Philly sandwich was over the top! Without even looking at the menu, I would get the same thing next time I go there. If you like this type of sandwich you won't be disappointed getting one here! The service was also excellent. Friendly and attentive, but not disruptive. So in summary, good food and good service. What more can you ask for? If this place would leave their phone on the hook, I would rate it 4 stars. But I usually have to go in to order.

Food was good, waitress was nice and atmosphere was fun. The seating arrangements were confusing and building was difficult to find.

Would give zero stars if able. Used to be decent, now, straight down hill. Took an hour and a half after ordering to get food. The food was disgusting - burnt, hollow cheesesticks, burnt jalapeno balls, cold fries. This food should have never left the kitchen. We had a party of 6. 2 of the orders never came and several had to be sent back because they were wrong. The waiter did remove several items from the bill, and were apologetic. Was not impressed with management, who joked about the situation, instead of being professional. He left it to the wait staff to handle. read more

I always love going here for drinks, but got food for the first time tonight. The buffalo dip is really good, and actually has a little bit of heat (unlike most places!) got the cap'n crunch tenders and they were really good! Good fries and waffle fries. We stopped here for dinner on July 4. It's a cool little dive with a great jukebox. We sat in the bar area, and a later check of the dining room revealed this to be the right choice. The dining room is pretty bare-bones and small, and you can sit with kids at the tables in the bar area. The burgers are really great. I had the pickle burger, which came with two huge fried pickle spears on it. It was delicious. Also worth mentioning are the tater tots. They were crunchy, crispy, and awesome. Our son got fries, which were greasy. He ended up eating most of our tater tots. Danielle was both server and bartender, and she was excellent, friendly and attentive. This is an excellent restaurant that needs more visibility. We only found it using, well yelp, to find a new restaurant to take my family who was in town for the Debbie Green 5k. The location, being right in between our home and downtown, was perfect. It was a little off putting when we walked in and realized how much of a bar the main area really was. I can picture it most evenings full of regulars eyeballing the few patrons unlucky enough to wander in looking for a good meal. There is a "formal" dining area however and l, while small, houses a few booths and tables. I called in about a reservation and they had our table set for ten and ready to go for us. The service was a little slower than I had expected, but it wasn't really a problem. Our waitress did go out of her way and cut up lemons and make three glasses of fresh squeezed lemonade for three of the kids with us since they had run out of the regular lemonade. The menu features choices for everyone. We had two vegetarians and a couple picky kids and everyone still found something they would want. My niece had a grilled cheese with tomatoes, it was as amazing as it sounds with cheese sourced locally. I had a Reuben with corned beef and split half of it with my wife who got their "famous philly". Both were very good. Everyone seemed satisfied with their choices. The star of the evening were the deep fried banana peppers served with Cajun ranch sauce. They were a great combination of spice and flavor and I can't recommend them enough. Good food, good prices and a laid back "hole-in-the-wall" atmosphere made for a wonderful late lunch that I would recommend for anyone. read more
