a glass of beer with a slice of orange
Matt N.

There aren't many breweries in the area so it was nice to find this one in Wheeling. We walked up the stairs and went to the bar. It's a nice area and different areas to drink beer at. Had a good selection. I got to try a few different ones and I liked many different beers here. We got to sit outside in the patio overlooking the street and it was nice out, good atmosphere to chat and have good beers in the summer. I really like their specialty series where I had a Hefeweizen mix with brown ale and honey. It was really good. Next time we come to wheeling I'll be looking forward to trying out more beer from this brewery. If you are looking for some good beer and are visiting the area this is a really good place to visit.

Nice place with a very friendly bar team! Fun atmosphere - lots of games, snacks, and you can even bring in your own food or have it delivered! Great variety of beer and all top notch. Perfect place to gather with friends & family!

Sat out on the deck. Great beer, and ambiance. Will definitely go back next time I am visiting Wheeling, VA.

Decent beer, expensive for what you get. The brewery next door is worse. No real food selection here.

Is the outdoor space dog friendly?

I'm sorry, it is not because it is not actually outside of the building. It is open air as opposed to outside

From Instagram to the website, it gave the impression that it was a brewery, so I was excited to try something new. We were seated quickly outside, which was great. When our waitress came over, I asked about their beer list. She told me their cooler had gone bad and all of their beer was currently bad. I asked if they had anything on tap, and she said no. Confused, I asked if they had just opened, and she said they had actually been open since 2020. At that point, I asked if they brewed their own beer, and she told me they did not. She said someone in Dover, OH, brews for them--but currently, the only beers available were Busch, Bud, Blue Moon, and Saucy's IPA. While Saucy Brew Works is a good Ohio brewery we've visited before, it was disappointing to realize this place wasn't an actual brewery and didn't serve anything brewed in-house. I settled for the Saucy's IPA, which was fine, but I had really hoped to try their own beer--especially given the name and branding. That said, the food came out quickly and was actually quite good, which helped redeem the experience a bit. Overall, just be aware this isn't a real brewery, and if you're going for the beer, you might leave a little disappointed. But if you're just looking for a bite to eat, it's worth checking out.

Our actual waiter comes by 5 mins later and says "yall still waiting on your food?" and im like.... yeah we ordered fried pickles and a steel city burger. he comes back out with the SAME BURGER that's been passed to us 2 other times and tries to give it to us. I say for a 4th time now that we ordered the steel city burger. instead of apologizing and correcting our order, he said he "didn't hear us say that." So I just said whatever and reluctantly took the plain burger. Now it's been like 35 mins and the burger is cold. we also never got out pickles. i just took the check and we left. $15 for a cold burger that i didn't even order.

However, we realized…read morethere was going to be some interesting developments when the server came by and he seemed a little nervous, but that's understandable. In any case we placed our orders, I ordered the breakfast platter special, which was fried chicken and biscuits with country sausage gravy my wife ordered the eggs Benedict my daughter for her birthday ordered the French toast with two eggs and my son ordered the chicken and waffles. Talking first about the chicken and waffles. I've come to see that many locations offer chicken and waffles. This being about average for what I would consider chicken and waffles as it was a small filet cut in a half upon a very thin flat waffle, which would've done better to be a Belgian waffle with a much fluffier plump chicken filet. My son did enjoy it but when he finished it the server came by and he says did you enjoy that? Was it good, it must've been good because you ate everything! Then let's discuss my wife's eggs Benedict, which she thoroughly loved. However, the ham looked like it was sliced deli ham for a sandwich instead of Canadian bacon or a little thicker slice of country ham. It's not my call, as my wife said she enjoyed it. My daughter enjoyed her stuffed French toast and egg. Everything was cooked to her liking and she said it had a good flavor and of all four dishes that certainly was the best of the four. as for the last dish, my Sriracha sausage gravy, fried chicken and biscuit with home fries, the jury is still out as the home fries came out a little overdone and cold. The sausage gravy looks like somebody spread it on with a paintbrush, and it wasn't very warm. The chicken was warm and did taste good and the biscuit was good, but it made no sense when the server said, it comes smothered in sausage gravy. Take a look at the picture, and it looks more like a couple tablespoons of gravy on each biscuit with the chicken. We did have a good time and the ambience of the place was very nice, especially seated along the windows looking at the snow outside and perhaps we'll give it another shot at a later date. Overall, nothing over the top but nothing to make us fear coming back either. It was just kind of middle of the road, but I am glad that the nicest dish and the best presentation went to my daughter for her 20th birthday. At least that was a saving grace as well as the lunch with the movie, listening to the various antics and chatter coming from the server.
