We stopped as I had this place on my radar for a while to try the beer out. i had a sample of 4 small beers and my wife had 4 wines. $7 each for the sampling. I thought the beers were good. My wife and daughter loved the greenhouse obtaining flowers and plants that they thought were a good fit and purchased. I'll be back to obtain some wine supplies as I see that they sell. Overall good experience, like to come back and have more time to enjoy the beer.

It was a challenge getting a seat but we were seated outside and it was pleasant. We were there on a Tuesday, my wife wanted their tacos and she referenced the taco meal. On Tuesdays they ONLY do Taco Tuesday and all tacos are à la carte. Secondly, our food came out cold; not warm, like it had been missed for 10 minutes and it had zero warmth. We complained about the fact that we were unaware that my wife's meal was à la carte and that our food was cold. They did bring some chips and salsa out, and made fresh tacos. They also comped our bill by half making our visit quite inexpensive. I would come back as I felt we had an unusual experience. I would hope our next visit is different.

We initially were stopped in our tracks by the doors being locked and the business being closed which was a surprise to us because I had read on Yelp the hours were 4-10ish but we'd later find out that was more like 4ish to 10ish. Haha! We were bummed and as we were walking back to the Jeep to head somewhere else, I sparked up a conversation with a couple gentlemen from the area who were in the parking lot. They were waiting to go inside as well and assured us that the owner would be there soon. So we chatted about beers and breweries and then boom, the owner pulled in. We found out that she had to pick up an order she had placed at Sam's Club and while doing that a girl had called off, so totally understandable. We all helped her unload the stuff she bought for the bar and then she served us an ice cold Halleck Pale Ale in frosted mugs from Chestnut Brew Works, which sadly enough I'd never had until then, Wow was it was tasty! Thanks Shorty for the recommendation. It's now on my favorite list. After chatting it up with the locals we happened to find out to our surprise that a guy we grew up with now lived in the area and made friends with the locals since they were all super good musicians. So they called him up and he came down and had a beer with us before we had to head out. They played us their new music on the jukebox and it was very good and we also met a local guy who had just been inducted into the WV Music Hall Of Fame. Damn, these are the days I live for! Listen, this place is 100% awesome! The owner Laura is amazing, the locals are kind and friendly, the beer is super cold and mostly local but some of your other favorites too, she makes her own wine and it's on tap, the food looks good, she supports locals businesses as well by purchasing their stuff for resale, it's roomy and they have a pool table. It's a super cool place and I can't wait to go back and hang out again and grab a pizza from the pizzeria next door. Sláinte!

Skip to the end to see my rating scale…read more Yough River Brewing hits the three things I look for in a brewery - food availability, outdoor seating/dog friendly, and of course the beer. Went here after golfing with a buddy and had a solid IPA and a pretty good Oktoberfest. The variety available is good enough that most people should be able to find something they like. A really nice outdoor seating area with a couple of fire tables and Adirondack chairs makes it comfortable and inviting. I happened to be there on a Sunday afternoon and I think a football game was going on or just ended because there were a bunch of unsupervised kids running around the tables. Not that they were over the top obnoxious, but they were definitely distracting.
