We have been living here in Verona for six months and only just found this unique and beautiful gem. While we are not beer drinkers we did enjoy a cocktail that was quite yummy, the transfusion. Also we ordered a stuffed potato with tzatziki sauce and lox and pickles diced tiny. It was quite delicious and tasty. They also have homemade pasta with different sauces and other potato fillings. We hope to go back and try those as well... Now on to the ambiance... Felt like I was back in Florida on a river! There's a marina to dock the boat that is quite beautiful. Having tried this brewery's offerings at a couple festivals, I was excited to be in the area to hit the physical space. When searching the menu, I noticed that if you sign up for the mailings, you get a $2 pint - customer win #1..... We got there and the bartender was super friendly, letting us grab some samples, all of which seemed pretty good. I ended up getting the hazy NEIPA, which was stellar, minimal bitterness. Also had a pint of the strawberry cheesecake sour, which I guess is popular. It was very good, but a bit too sweet/sour for a full pint. Great selection of beer, upper tier brewery in greater Pittsburgh, stellar prices and I'll be baaaaaack. There was a band playing on the patio, not my thing, a "suburban barbeque joint / sauce rockabilly" typa group....but it's fine. Finally returned to the first place I attended a Yelp event when I moved to Pittsburgh a year ago. We enjoyed a relaxing Saturday afternoon on the river. We shared a flight, then he got another flight since there were so many beers to try. Service was great and you can sample beers, We had a lovely time. read more

Went for the Penn Hills Library Jane Austen book club and really enjoyed it! I had the Raspberry Cheesecake Sour -- so good. The vibe is cute they have a board game corner and doggy accessories for sale too. Dogs are allowed on the patio but not inside. It was a little chilly for the patio but I took a look around. It's be a very cute set up on a warm day. The bar tender was very attentive and let me and my friend try a couple samples before making a purchase. Would definitely recommend! I was very happy to be able to park on site. The bar area is nice, but being able to sit outside is amazing. What a view of the river. And watching the sunset is incredible. What a great spot. The outdoor seating has a beautiful view of the river and the brewery offers really fun events like candle making, paint and sip, and other fun interactive events. Also loved the variety of different beverages for every flavor preference: beer (IPAs, kolsch, wit, milkshake, etc.), cider, seltzer, ginger beer, cocktails. The variety of flavors means everyone in your party will find something they like! The popcorn was wonderful to snack on and had a great flavor. The pizza had a surprising topping: lemon zest! I bought some of the desserts to take home and they are nothing short of addictive. The staff were all super nice and friendly. My husband and I really enjoyed Acclamation. It's a really nice, cool place with a fun vibe and warm and friendly people. I enjoyed the pizza, blueberry cheesecake sour, oh yeah cherry and painkiller milkshake. My husband enjoyed his pretzel, hefevisen, peach milkshake and schwarzlicht. The deck on the river is really nice especially with the excellent live music who we weren't sure were real at first. They sounded that good and played great songs. Acclamation is a great spot to grab a drink! In the summer it's lovely to hang outside on their patio and watch the sun set over the water. There's a good amount of space inside as well. They have a good variety of drafts available and the ones I got were pretty good. I also enjoyed the winter margarita cocktail I got. It's a bit out of the way from the city in Verona but it's worth the occasional drive. They have a small parking lot so more often than not you'll probably have to park on the street. read more

I'm loving Acclamation's new space at the 10.7 marina in Verona. They have a variety of beers and NA options available for all drinkers. They also have a good snack menu of small bites and flatbread pizzas . You can't beat the outdoor space and the view over the river. It can be a little tricky to park, but they do have a very small lot with 4-5 spaces available. My favorite sip is their pale ale Hoppy Little Beer. read more

Such a great brewery! I wish I had checked it out sooner because it is perfect for the summertime. The outside space is so wonderful, overlooking the river with plenty of seats (covered and not). You're also allowed to bring your dog to the outside area, so it's great for the whole family. The beer is incredible too! I got a blueberry cheesecake sour that was amazingly refreshing, full of flavor, and not overly sugary. I also got their blackberry lemon shandy to try something lighter and loved that too. It was smooth, light yet flavorful, and great for a sunny day. Inside they even have board games for you to play while enjoying your time there. My favorite craft brewery in the Verona, Oakmont , and New Ken area. They have an awesome deck on the river which feels like a more intimate Fox Chapel yacht club. First time visiting. A variety to beer styles in the board today. The inside seemed new and clean. It's not a large place inside. The woman working the bar area was very friendly and offered samples if I was undecided. The outside area is really nice on a beautiful day like today. Occasionally the wind shifts and you get a little off smell from the river, but that's only occasional. I really enjoyed the outside area, it was really relaxing to sit here, watch the river and the boats and sip a cold brew. read more

Visited this cozy taproom for the first time recently and we were impressed. I had a Belgian style beer which was delicious. There are games and some light snacks and I appreciated how kind and friendly the bartender was. He gave us a great rundown of all the beers. Apparently, the brewery is about to move closer to the water in Verona into a bigger space. This location was a little secluded so I'm sure the move will be awesome For them. I've been wanting to check this brewery out for sometime. It's been on the list to visit. We walked in and I was surprised how small the facility was. I had anticipated something larger in size. However it's small and quaint how I like them. I tried a couple beers and as always I'm starting to think that I'm a beer snob and only like hazy IPA only. It was a good hazy, wife had a seltzer they make. The lady said that they've been there for three years. I like the vibe of the place. I have to kind of split this review up. The stars go to the brewery, which wasn't what I expected but not bad. I went there for a (supposed), food truck I had heard about. Ay 4:00, or very close to it, the place was dark and empty, but the guy sweeping up immediately turned the lights on and offered to help me. I explained that I was there for the food truck pierogies I had heard so much about. In the meantime, I scoped the place out and asked a few questions. The first thing I noticed was the size of the place. The indoor area is small, with 2 small tables seating probably 6 at the most. The bar has 6 seats and the rail at the side windows have another 12. That is the whole place. It is a very small venue. There is seating outside, and that area is much larger, but with the weather turning colder, I expect most of the action will shift inside.There was no one there when I went, so I couldn't give a good indication of the crowd interaction. This was on a Friday afternoon, so I would have expected a bit more action, but there was none. The place must be dog friendly, given that there are at least 2 small displays inside, one for dog treats and one that features bandanas for pets.The walls are decorated with paintings by a local artist, Sara Watkins. The paintings cover a wide range of subjects, many of local flavor, in a pop art style. While I waited for the arrival of the food truck, I chatted with the person behind the bar. He was very good at customer service, answering any questions I had and recommending beers I might like. We settled on a Helle's Lager called Grainbow Brite that I found quite good. I only wish I had gotten his name. Along the way, he pointed out that the pierogi lady had arrived. I will admit to being somewhat of a snob about my pierogi. I come from a family where women would get together every now and then, crowding our small kitchen and spending an afternoon turning out hundreds of the potato and cheese filled pillows. Being from McKees Rocks, you could find homemade pierogi at any time, just about everywhere. The quality was outstanding and the area seemed to have a real handle of how to make the best tasting versions of the dish. I didn't even know there were different varieties until much later, since even the sauerkraut filled ones weren't sold in my area. Churches all over the area were jammed every Friday during lent, turning out great fish dishes, (mostly sandwiches and all different), and tons of pierogi. We had one of the first solely pierogi places anywhere right on Island Ave in a converted gas station. When I say that I'm kind of an expert on pierogi, you can take my word for it. Along with the churches, most bars competed with each other for the best beer battered fish sandwiches. On this day, there was no food truck. A few things were pulled out of a sport utility wagon and set up under a tent, the type you would find at a farmer's market or flea market. A lone electric skillet sat on a makeshift table. To say it was a rinky dink set up would be an understatement. I discovered that it was cash only, since the pierogi lady informed me that she did not know how to process a card for payment. I started to explain that using square attached right to a phone, but she either wasn't listening or didn't care. She just had a blank look on her face. She explained that she had made some special pierogi, described as a Thanksgiving dinner in a pierogi. Regular pierogi were 2 for $5, while the Thanksgiving ones were 2 for $7. I requested 2 orders of the regular ones and one of the Thanksgiving. I was informed that she was combining the regular ones in a single styrofoam container, since she didn't bring that many containers with her. She pulled my pierogi from a cooler and began frying them in her electric skillet. I noted that there were very few onions in the mix, just a few tiny pieces for at least 4 large pierogi. I will admit that they were larger than the ones I've seen previously, about double the size of the frozen grocery store varieties. I took my order to go and had them at home. They suffered from the lack of onions and were not worth the hype I'd heard about them. I'm used to a flavor explosion coming from within, filled with a rich cheesy goodness. These were quite disappointing. Other than the lack of onion, there seemed to be a lack of cheese. They tasted like they were filled with a regular mashed potato mix and not much else. This might be acceptable for some people, but having the background I do, these were severely lacking. I would not return for these for half the price. They were bland and lifeless and made me want to make my own at home. I will admit that the Thanksgiving ones were a bit better, but those were a novelty and not something I would expect all the time. I'm also not convinced they were worth the price. There are other options available and I'll be checking those out. I won't be going back to the pierogi lady. 0 stars. read more

This place is incredible. It is small, but mighty. We have visited many breweries around the Pittsburgh area, and we find their beers, to be better than the best. Second time coming here. The beer is cold and unique! The staff are super nice. You could get food at one of the food trucks that frequent here, or they sell small snacks for cheap, or bring your own (Verona Village inn is a couple steps away). The outdoor space is very nice with heaters incase it's a cold evening. We came on 11-20-20 and we were warm enough (62 degrees woohoo!). It's even kid friendly; a dad was playing Jenga with his little ones. :) read more

A nice spot in Verona. As somewhat of a blessing and a curse, it's located right next to the Verona Village Inn -- parking is not great. The space is small but they have both indoor and outdoor seating. Staff friendly. The beer I had was great. The heater at our picnic table didn't work but they did have Connect Four on the table which kept us occupied. Would definitely visit again. read more
