First time at this brewery. We participate in the Laurel Highlands Pour Tour and this was on our stop. We ordered the flight and wow it was enormous with a lot for a sample. We had the Elf (Xmas), hazy ipa, white vanilla stout and light ale. Everyone was very good. They have a small menu but we had the charcuterie board and it was terrific. When you initially walk in they have a bar and a few small tables. If you walk towards the back they have another section to sit. They have the stainless steel equipment where they brew the beer at. Overall the service was extremely nice and courteous here. We will visit again when we can dry much longer.

Great beer and atmosphere. They could renew the menu but overall, great. I love that the locals are regulars. Feels homely

4 - I'd drive an hour just to come here. Skip to the end for my rating scale…read more Great brewery in the middle of farm country. The beer selection is solid. Every style I tried in the flight was good...they obviously put the effort into getting their stuff right. They live up to being called a "craft" brewery. The atmosphere is fantastic. Very nice pavilion to keep out of the weather. They also have some open air tables in a little garden and included a good size fire pit to boot. They have live music from time to time and it looks like they have food available occasionally as well. The bartenders were both super friendly and helpful. It's definitely a place we'll visit again when we're out that way. Highly recommend Whitehorse if you're willing to drive a bit and it's a must-do if you're reasonably close. My rating scale: 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive an hour just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here

I think it was about 25 minutes or so from Deep Creek Maryland. The brewery is located in the owners/main brewers garage. Right next to his house, among a bunch of other houses. If they wouldn't have had a sign we would never had known. Once inside we were greeted and warmly welcomed. I actually thought the man and women (who did indeed turn out to be husband and wife) were the owners. They seemed to take such pride in everything and were so hospitable to everyone that came in, almost like you would expect if going to a loving and doting relative. She popped popcorn for patrons and was handing out bowls. She was full of stories and seemed to really just like working there. Her and her husband filled us in on the brewery and its history. The beers now were surprisingly decent. I got the glimmer of hop comet. They had a winter warmer on tap with like the best name Fra-Gee-Lay, Must be Italian. I can't imagine ever finding myself in this neck of the woods again but I sure would order that beer again if I ever saw it on tap. For the locals this place should definitely be in your rotation.

The person who got the last burger bun, it was stale. I wasn't told I was getting mine on white (stale) toast. The remainder of the people couldn't order half the menu because they were out of everything so they were stuck with mostly fried appetizers. Three of the girls never received their appetizer therefore it when it finally came after we told the server, it was after they ate their meal. Really poor experience. A shame because it could be fun as they have trivia Thursday. The mc for trivia was great but the kitchen is very poorly equipped. Won't return. Embarrassing experience as I brought these 9 other girls with me for trivia.

That said, they need to take note how the food service may impact their reputation. When you walk in, you're in the bar. There is no sign that says seat yourself or wait to be seated. No one acknowledged out entrance to explain how things work i.e. no hostess. I had to flag down the bar tender and was told you seat yourself, get drinks at the bar (and pay for them there) and order food back by the kitchen where the "counter" is. There is no table service (kind of). If you want refills, you walk back to the bar. Condiments, silverware and napkins are at the counter. If you want salt and pepper, there were two sets that you share with the restaurant and return when you're done. You take your plates, glasses and silverware to the station/garbage can and leave them there when you're done. None of this business model is appealing to me whatsoever for a non-fast food restaurant. Maybe others like this but if I wanted to go to McDonald's I'd go to McDonald's. I said "kind of" earlier because the kid who was taking orders was a hard worker and brought everyone's food to them even though we were told we would pick it up when our buzzer went off. He was a nice kid doing a good job especially considering he was the only one there. The bar tender was also very nice once she was able to talk to us. Now for the food.... I had been to Evolution Grill a few times and the meals were always excellent which is why I was excited about this collaboration. The fried zucchini was excellent! For some reason though, it came out last. Ironically, no matter who owned that restaurant in the past, they could NEVER seem to get the timing/order of the food right. It's like the building is cursed-very weird. My wife liked the Brussels sprouts and they looked good to me. My burger however was a joke. Look at the pictures. ONE PIECE OF BACON on a bacon cheeseburger. Seriously? I also wanted lettuce which you can see in the picture what was on the plate for me to put on the burger. Lastly, the burger was ordered medium rare and it came out gray and dry. We had high hopes for another option near our house but this was seriously disappointing. It was mid-priced-not cheap but not as expensive as some. Given that it's the same type of service as Chik-fil-a though, it's expensive to me. And....my meal was terrible. It won't last if it doesn't improve quickly. Tortured Souls owners need to have a talk with Evolution Grill folks and address this. The only reason I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 is that it felt a little unfair to Tortured Souls since they're separate to some degree.

There is street parking right in front of the building with a steep set of stairs to enter. I was told there is also a ramp on the other side of the building to make it accessible. When you first walk in, it isn't 100% clear which way to go (although any of the ways ultimately lead you into the main church room). I had never been, so I asked the person behind the bar about the history of the winery and the space. It turns out he is the owner so he had a lot of information to give. I learned about the founding of the winery, the old space up the road, the renovations to the church space and their wine production (like where they get their grapes). I ended up sampling four different wines before I settled on the glass that I chose. There are a variety of seating options, including some with a more lounge feel (couches on what used to be the altar). I visited on a Thursday night and it was fairly quiet. They were offering a chicken parmesan meal that sounded (and looked) delicious, but I had already eaten. During Lent, they have seafood specials on Friday nights. In addition to wine, they also had beer, cider and mixed drinks as options. This would be a great place for a date night or a girls night out. I'll definitely be back!
