Super friendly service. I was there on a Saturday afternoon and the place was well-staffed with very cool employees. The atmosphere is nice, too, and I appreciated the poster on one wall explaining the meaning of "Grist House". You can bring dogs too! Some very nice dogs were present on this particular Saturday. Went here after golfing with a buddy and had a solid IPA and a pretty good Oktoberfest. The variety available is good enough that most people should be able to find something they like. A really nice outdoor seating area with a couple of fire tables and Adirondack chairs makes it comfortable and inviting. I happened to be there on a Sunday afternoon and I think a football game was going on or just ended because there were a bunch of unsupervised kids running around the tables. Not that they were over the top obnoxious, but they were definitely distracting. Each brew we tried was smooth, flavorful, and uniquely their own. We shared a few appetizers and every bite was fantastic, but the fried zucchini sticks were the standout--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Definitely a must-try! Their happy hour is a great deal, and the atmosphere is just what you'd want in a local brewery: relaxed, welcoming, and fun. The location is spot-on--easy to get to, with plenty of space inside and out. To top it all off, the staff have been incredible--knowledgeable about the beers, super friendly, and genuinely fun to talk to. When our waitress came over, I asked about their beer list. She told me their cooler had gone bad and all of their beer was currently bad. I asked if they had anything on tap, and she said no. Confused, I asked if they had just opened, and she said they had actually been open since 2020. At that point, I asked if they brewed their own beer, and she told me they did not. She said someone in Dover, OH, brews for them--but currently, the only beers available were Busch, Bud, Blue Moon, and Saucy's IPA. While Saucy Brew Works is a good Ohio brewery we've visited before, it was disappointing to realize this place wasn't an actual brewery and didn't serve anything brewed in-house. I settled for the Saucy's IPA, which was fine, but I had really hoped to try their own beer--especially given the name and branding. That said, the food came out quickly and was actually quite good, which helped redeem the experience a bit. Overall, just be aware this isn't a real brewery, and if you're going for the beer, you might leave a little disappointed. But if you're just looking for a bite to eat, it's worth checking out.

If it hadn't been for that site, I don't think I would have known that this place existed. The building itself gives off a warehouse-type vibe, and it is a seat-yourself kind of place. Inside, they have a large bar, some tables, and some comfier seating that you would normally find at coffee shops. They also have plenty of outdoor seating, both covered and uncovered. As you might expect from an establishment like this that serves pizza and beer, they catered to families as well as other customers. Since we were there on a Saturday night, they also had some live music going on outside. As I often do when visiting a new brewery, I went with a flight this evening. I ended up choosing the Bone Daddy pumpkin beer, Traveling Wit, Curious George blackberry cream ale, and Bloodbath IPA. First up was the Bone Daddy, which was light at the start, with the flavor kicking in from the middle through the finish. The pumpkin was there, but it wasn't what I would traditionally think of as a pumpkin beer, as it leaned more toward sweet pumpkin than spices, at least for my palate. Second was the Traveling Wit, which was also smooth to start. You could really taste the citrus and coriander on the finish, and it was undeniably a wit beer. Next was the Curious George blackberry cream ale, which had a pleasing blackberry flavor right from the start before the cream kicked in. While I liked the first two flavors, I wasn't a fan of the finish, as it had some weird spice or herb flavor. Last, but certainly not least, was the Bloodbath. This was actually a pretty good IPA, as it was hoppy throughout while still being restrained. You could definitely taste the blood orange as well, and that flavor persisted through the finish, which was nice. Out of the bunch, I liked the Bloodbath the best, followed by the wit. For dinner, my wife and I decided to split the Nacho Daddy, described as pulled buffalo chicken, Granddaddy Lager beer cheese, grape tomatoes, red onion, jalapeños, cheddar cheese, chives, and ranch. We also ordered the Murphy's Mart pizza, in the tavern-style and the pizza was described as having award-winning vodka sauce, cup-and-char sausage, a pepper medley, arugula, and shaved Parmesan. We knew the pizza was going to take a while, and it did take about an hour to come out. The weird thing was that we were still waiting for our appetizer at that point. I expected it to arrive shortly afterward, but nope, it took a full 90 minutes for our nachos to arrive. For context, the people who came in after us ordered a pizza, knocked half of it on the ground, and received a replacement before our nachos came out. Let's talk about that pizza, though, because both my wife and I found it delicious. The crust was nice and thin and crispy, which made it easy to eat a decent amount of it. The vodka sauce was delicious, just as advertised, and the cheese added a good amount of flavor. Finally, the peppers added a kick of heat to the pizza, which I thoroughly enjoyed, while the meat added some good flavor as well. Once we finally got the nachos, we immediately boxed them up to take home because we were full from the pizza. After asking to speak to a manager, our waitress comped the nachos, so we weren't charged for them. Apparently, they fry the tortilla chips themselves when an order comes in, but as an appetizer, this is something that should come out relatively quickly. When I finally tried the nachos at home, I found them tasty and especially liked the beer cheese. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. While the wait for our appetizer wasn't ideal, both my wife and I enjoyed the food. It also helps that this is the type of place where we can bring our family.
