My husband and I always compete for the last bite. One thing I appreciate about them is they make it easy to find your way back when you order by giving out the buzzers. This spot has a location in the new garage that is located near the Mass Ave. area and I highly recommend you check out the garage as they have a wide variety of restaurants and also stores inside. There is quite a bit of parking in the Mass. Ave Area, just make sure that you do pay for parking otherwise you will get a ticket. Do you give yourself time to explore what is offered inside as there's many great local stores that you can purchase great gifts from as well. I ordered the steak fries and they were flavorful. I would argue that they could've had a little bit more in terms of sauce to them I think that would have made it slightly better. It would've been nice if there are some veggies on it or such as well. I will admit I am happy that the fries were crispy and warm as a lot of restaurants typically fail to do this. This restaurant did not fail to do that and therefore they get brownie points. In addition I would add that I would have liked for there to be a little bit more of a proportion of fries to the topping but I was still satisfied. Other than that the service was nice and in terms of how busy it was it didn't take too long to get the food. I knew that I wanted lunch and didn't want to spend $50 and only had 45 minutes to spare. The Grilled Beef Chimichurri fries were my pick for lunch and they were grilled to perfection. I have never had Brazilian food and figured the steak fries would taste like arrachera and I was incredibly wrong. The steak flavor was so powerful and the chimichurri complemented it so well. As an introduction to Brazilian food this was a very warm welcome. They came to about $12 and some change and the serving size was very fulfilling. I had way more meat than fries and that's exactly how I like it. There was no wait. Yes the cheese puffs are good, really good, but why fill up on those when one can eat grilled steak?! The beef skewers were really awesome! I ordered medium, but now having tasted this I think rare is the way to go. The slices of beef are a nice thickness and a tender and flavorful cut. The portions solid for the price. The batter dipped French fries were hot and crispy. The chimichurri sauce was spot on with its mix of green, fresh parsley, cilantro, oregano, garlic, olive oil and a splash of red wine vinegar. I've had the Brazilian steak sandwich from here twice now and both times it was phenomenal. Once I had it at home after a 25-minute drive. Miraculously, the bread wasn't soggy, despite the wet ingredients. Both times, the bread was perfect and the steak didn't have one bad bite to it. Don't be a dummy like me - eat the tomatoes and onions on top. I don't like raw tomatoes or onions, so I picked around them the first time. Big mistake - they are marinated to be lightly pickled and they add the perfect amount of acid to cut through the heavy steak, mayo, and cheese. It's like the perfect sandwich. read more

On our second visit to the Garage Food Hall, we decided to try something different.  There were three in our group and we decided to go with Gaucho's Fire since it offered food that everyone was able to find something that appealed to them.  I saw in the business's comments that they recommended the Brazilian Steak Sandwich and the Grilled Beef Chimichuri.  One of our group ordered from that selection while I ordered the Grilled Chicken Salad. We waited briefly before ordering and paid before finding a seat in the general seating area shared by the food hall.  (It was quite spacious).  Our receipt had an order # and one of our group stood within range of hearing the cashier call out the number for pickup.  The meals came with napkins, plastic ware and a tray to carry it all on.  The wait was about five minutes for our order to be put together during a weekday lunch. Our friend ordered the Brazilian Steak Sandwich and said it was really good.  My wife ordered the Grilled Beef Chimichuri and said the beef was chewy.  I tried it and thought the meat was tender enough, but with a bit of chew.  I was disappointed in the chimichuri seasoning.  I've had it elsewhere (maybe not authentic elsewhere) but I definitely was not drawn to the taste and wouldn't recommend it.  I ordered a large Grilled Chicken Salad that had bite sized pieces of chicken that were tasty and held some moisture despite the grilling.  They offered a choice of dressing (Ranch or Blue Cheese) and layered it on fairly thick.  It is served over a bed of greens that are cut, but not quite small enough to be bite sized.  With the dressing, I struggled keeping my face free of dressing as I tried to fit the lettuce/chicken/toppings into my mouth.  I have a fairly large mouth, so I was surprised that the lettuce needed additional cutting with my plastic ware for me to fit the "bites" cleanly into my mouth.  If they would cut the lettuce into just a little smaller pieces, I wouldn't have been wiping my face after each bite. Little details could be improved and earn a higher rating, but I have to base my review on what my/our experience was, not could be.  Most meals offered where in the $8-10 range.  Extra sides and desserts and beverages are add ons.  Be sure to hold onto your receipt to get a discount on your parking fees if you stop at one of the internal machines marked by small murals that help you locate the place to get discounts on your parking.  We got our first hour of parking validated for no additional cost. Second time dining here and always delicious. Last night I was looking for something with protein and veggies but not too much else. I have tried the sandwiches, which are delicious, but that was not for last night. Per recommendation, I got the steak salad with Vinaigrette...super simple and super delicious. The vinaigrette was the right amount of acid to go with the steak. The price was right too - under $10! You may also choose ranch or gaucho on your salad. Unfortunately I've tried twice to get the cheese bread but I think I've been very unlucky. Earlier when they first opened and last night, they ran out by the time I got there. I understand one of my regular times to be there is within an hour of closing on a weeknight, so I'll keep trying, but it didn't seem like that's a normal happening. On the other hand, once I was interested in the papaya cream, and they are actually not making it now because of the seasonality of Papaya...so it sounds like I'll keep on asking and update you when it's in Season! I really want to try these two things. Oh yeah! Since I did try the Pastels and the sandwich I'll comment on them as well. Pastel is a perfect filled crispy poof. A nicely browned crispy wrapper with perfectly seasoned beef inside (They have cheese too - which i want to try as well). The sandwich tried was the same steak in a fluffy flakey sub roll yummy grilled onions, mayonnaise, provolone cheese, and tangy vinaigrette sauce simlar to the salad dressing! Fantastic food. I got the gauchos fries. They were crunchy, cheesy and filling. It was more than enough food. The gaucho sauce is amazing! My boyfriend said the skewer was rather delicious and much tastier than it looked. He also noted that while it was good it is not authentic Brazilian. Neither of us loved the cheese balls. My first visit to Gaucho's Fire at The Garage was spectacular. While I was a bit skeptical of the concept at first, I was completely sold by the end of the day. What a concept; what a cool venue; what an experience. Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. We were there celebrating a friend's birthday, all 17 of us, ranging from the ages of 7 to 77. Plenty of table space, vibrant atmosphere, lots of other types of foods (healthy and not so healthy) and drinks (healthy and alcoholic options), but the Brazilian sandwich was calling (more like shouting) my name. Not only was the Ultimate Brazilian sandwich one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten in my life, it's all I've thought about since it hit my tastebuds. I anticipated the sandwich being good as Gaucho's Fire had the longest line of any of the vendors. That being said, it took only 5 minutes to get my order. To the table I went, amazing sandwich in hand, but I made a mistake by not grabbing enough napkins. (Grab more napkins!) Back to the sandwich though. It was incredible. The steak was tender, juicy, had an amazing flavor combined with the Chimichurri, holy smokes. Wow. I expected to have room for more food but this sandwich hit the spot and filled it. While I planned to share some of my food with other members of my party, I didn't feel one bit bad about keeping this one for myself and eating every last bite. Tremendous and highly recommended. We've supported Gauchos since they started their food truck. The food never disappoints and you know what you're getting each time. We ordered the steak sandwich and the chicken fries. The steak sandwich comes on a thick bun with well seasoned juicy steak. The only negative is, the sandwich is a little pricey for only getting a sandwich. The chicken fries were delicious! They use this special sauce which balances out the fried fries with the large chunks of chicken. I don't know how they season their meats but they are always amazing! This place is over priced and overrated. The Brazilian steak sandwich, is basically a less seasoned Philly cheesesteak with pico de Gallo. Honestly, I don't recommend it. I love the garage at bottle works. I attached a photo of the Brazilian sandwich. It was excellent, but not as good as the gaucho fries with sausage. The cheese bread others suggested was great and gluten free but I learned I don't like the texture of cassava flour. I can't wait to go back to try other things. read more
