The atmosphere and location is prime and the view is great with lower inside and outside seating and upstairs seating. Be prepared that anything that they have consisting of carbs will be dry. Had dinner here tonight with family. Took about 30 minutes until we got our order taken, and that was because I had to ask the server myself. The table next to us were seated after us and they got their drinks served to them and order in before us. Our server didn't check on us at all. I understand maybe short staff or something so I try to be considerate but not once did anyone come check on us. The restaurant didn't look too busy at the time we were there. We got our food and it was okay, I was already just thrown off about the service so I didn't know what to expect. When I asked for more water, they said they needed to refill the water jug and they would be right back with our water. They never refilled the jug nor our water. Great new spot on the Long Beach Shoreline Bike Path. We came for lunch, it wasn't quite busy yet and found a table right away. One of the staffs, Kamilah explained to us how we order thru the QR code located on table. She was very helpful and made the whole ordering experience very easy. She was great! We ordered the lobster roll, the calamari and the seaside asparagus. Everything turned out good. For drinks, we got the Mercado and a Modelo. We had an amazing view and an amazing dining experience! They also have the gaucho cafe windows to order their empanadas & drinks. I will have to comeback and try them during my Sunday runs/walks. Welcome to Long Beach Gaucho Beach! I forgot to check in while I was there earlier this morning, but I did cardio and yoga this morning and stopped here and ordered their dulce iced latte drink. It was ok. Tasted like straight coffee. I also ordered their ham and cheese breakfast sandwich, so good and crispy! Lastly I ordered their chocolate croissant, that was ok. Long awaited/excellent addition to the Long Beach beach front area.The vibe here is fantastic, very chill and inviting, with plenty of umbrellas and cushy seats. Simply find a table, scan the QR code then order/pay for your food and drinks directly. We really enjoyed a salad topped with grilled salmon, and will definitely return in the evening for special looking drinks! I'm hoping they will come up with a way to reserve tables for larger groups because I can imagine that being a problem. We've not tried the walk-up cafe portion, but I like the ideas of Empenadas and Sangria rather than the usual fast food options at similar beach-front places. read more

The coffee shop is only open, and this Friday, August 4th, is the restaurant's grand opening. Nevertheless, we stopped by this morning after our walk, and it was a wonderful experience! The sandwiches were great, and the staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating! We ordered two "PODEROSOS" drinks which were to die for "delicious and refreshing," along with two croissants a ham, cheese, and egg, and a spinach one. The weather was gorgeous, and the view... well, we couldn't ask for anything more. We felt safe (Gaucho's has security personnel), and the homeless encampment is gone. We hope it stays safe so we can all enjoy the scenery, the ambiance, the food and drinks, and most importantly, the hard work this new establishment has put forth! We were excited to try Gaucho Beach. Pictures of the restaurant looked amazing - right next to the beach, rooftop dining, not to mention the amazing looking drinks and food. We pull into the parking lot not realizing ahead of time that it was the public beach access parking that the restaurant was sharing with. It was a nightmare to find parking, my husband drove around for 30 minutes waiting for a spot to open. There was no other parking nearby. Not to mention the homeless couple bathing each other right as we pulled in. A few people in our party were so frustrated and ended up leaving not able to find a spot. The food, drink and atmosphere did not disappoint. Just be prepared and patient for parking spots especially if you are coming for dinner in the weekends. The restaurant should offer some type of valet or shuttle service. This restaurant would do better if it was in a nicer area like Newport. read more

I think the business owner needs to do a massive overhaul of their staff. I came tonight (Tuesday) and sat on the patio. I ordered ceviche and a virgin mojito. The ceviche came out quickly, before my drink. I had to ask the server about my drink and he brought it out 10 minutes later. I order another drink. 10 minutes pass, I wave at a server (turns out to be the manager) and he looks right at me and ignores me. Okay cool. now it's been 20 minutes. My brother orders another drink. Gets his in 10 minutes. So at this point I've waited 30 minutes for my drink. I go inside and I see the man that ignored me. I told him I've waited 30 minutes for my virgin drink. He seems annoyed and kinda rolls his eyes. I just end up asking for a refund. He starts making excuses. 1) "we are really busy" the rooftop patio was closed, most of the downstairs patio was empty 2) "virgin drinks are the most complicated to make" sure, maybe coming up with the initial recipe, but its no more complicated than a regular drink. At this point, i smell alcohol on his breath. He spends the next 5 minutes stumbling around on Toast trying to process my refund. I am a restaurant manager and use Toast myself and I am trying to explain to him how to process my refund. As this is happening, I'm looking around the bartenders seem drunk too, screaming, humping the bar, just acting wild. I ask him for his name, SAL. He proceeds to start asking me about the restaurant I manage, how many people etc etc, as though I wouldn't understand how to manage a restaurant like his, he just has to deal with so much, etc etc etc. Like this restaurant is the hardest thing to run. I just told him, it's not about that. There are always going to be mistakes, an over cooked steak, a drink that got missed, an item that wasn't rung up. That happens all the time, it's about how you fix it as a manager. And unfortunately, you didn't do that. You only made it worse, I told him. Guest retention should be your #1 priority. I'd look for staff, especially management that understand that. If he could have even just apologized instead of excuses. He could have offered me the drink after the refund. He could have given me a $10 gift card. He could have offered me desert. He should have been sober. All of these things would have made me come back. But I dont think I will. Attitude is a reflection of leadership. I hope the owners dont find this style of management acceptable. read more

Let's start with parking, parking is sucky just because the place is in a busy and pretty location...the beach! So, make sure you have enough time to get a spot. What you need to know: It is self-setting and there are no servers/bartenders actually taking your order. You have to scan a QR code to order your drinks and food, so if you lack on the techy side you might have some hiccups. The vibe here is great, I mean honestly, how can you complain when you can watch an awesome sunset at a bar on the beach? Drinks: Were great! I ordered the pisco sour and my boyfriend ordered an old-fashioned. Food: So good. I love me some Lomo Saltado and they have a Lomo sandwich, the egg, and meat were tasty and perfectly cooked! While we were waiting to get our food, we wanted to get some empanadas (since we'd seen them on Yelp), They are not actually part of the menu of the bar but rather the cafe that is literally steps away, so I walked on over and grabbed 3 empanadas that were decent size and very filling (spicy beef, short rib, al pastor). The only downside was that each time you ordered a drink or food you get charged fees. For example, You can't keep getting multiple drinks when you're done with your first and add it to your original bill...if that makes sense. So that adds up just a little. but overall...We will be coming back :) read more

I love a place with self service but this was disappointing. Went on a dinner date with my husband and while the rest of the guest sound like they are having fun we are getting poor service. They had us wait at the guest check in with no staff to greet for 5 mins then walked us back to a table and while we believe it is self service because of the QR code on the table we saw other guest speaking and pay with the waiter. So we waited for about 10mins and the decided to move forward with the QR code. Then they came by. We mentioned we order they said let me check on it and 10 mins later the drinks came out. When our food was brought out we asked for ranch, it never came. They employee brought the food and said they would bring the ranch looks like the manager on duty, and he walked by several times and didn't bring the ranch. Unfortunately the food was very basic for the price. $80 wasn't it for burger and a sandwich with 2 drinks. I can spend the same for better quality and service. Not sure what the factor is but the service was enough to not make us come back. Not even for a girls brunch. read more

There aren't any places I can think of in the area that are right on the sand and offer the extensive drink and food menu that this place does. The lower floor is great if you're looking to enjoy a more chill vibe and the upper floor is great if you're looking to take in the sun and a delicious cocktail and food. They have a fun craft cocktail menu consisting of your standard drinks and some more creative options. We tried out the Mercado which was refreshing and crisp - perfect for a warm summer day, as well as an experimental cocktail that our bartender Steven made us with mezcal and coconut cream that was phenomenal! There's plenty of bike parking for those who want to take more sustainable transportation and then also a paid parking lot for easy access.
