We had heard great things about this spot and were excited to stop in for dinner. I thought it was…read morecounter service but they must have just switched it to table service, because they are definitely (hopefully) working through some kinks there. I couldn't believe our experience was at the same restaurant that came so highly recommended to us by others. I'll start with the good: The food was really, really good. We shared bread and the cacio e pepe and rigatoni vodka and everything was really good. Which is why it's so unfortunate that the service and experience as a whole was so terrible. We were told it'd be 40 mins wait for a table, so we left our name. We barely had time to walk down the block before we got the table ready text, which we thought was odd but were pleasantly surprised by. The seating situation is not comfortable for table service. Maybe it works for when it was casual counter service, but if I'm sitting down to order and it's taking more time, I expect to be comfortable. The booths looked so uncomfortable, our table was shoved up against the wall at the back by a huge industrial fan by the door to the back area, and the lighting in the nicer front room was so harsh I'm not sure how anyone was sitting up there comfortably. It would have been fine if we weren't there for nearly 2 hours. We were seated by the hostess and 20 minutes later hadn't even been greeted or brought water. We watched other tables who were seated after us have their orders taken, but nothing for us. There seemed to be only one waiter for all the tables on the one side of the restaurant, and he was in no rush to actually get anything done. Finally I think the hostess noticed our frustrated looks and came and brought water, then she came back to take our order. The food took forever to come out. I think it was around 20 more mins to get the bread, and at least 30 more after that for the pasta. By that point we had gotten so hungry we really weren't hungry anymore, which was a shame because the pasta was really good (made for good leftovers later). Nobody came to check in on us after we received the food, and we didn't talk to anyone again until we flagged down the hostess (who seemingly had taken over as our server?) for boxes and the check. We had wanted to order their peach dessert but decided against it as there was nobody to take our order and we didn't want to be there another half hour plus waiting for it. When the check came, the one waiter for the section (the one who I think was supposed to be taking care of us as he was working literally every other table in the section, but hadn't done a thing so the hostess had to take over) brought the check and it was just weird, there was no sorry for the wait or sorry that your servicing was a bit odd being served by the hostess. We were so glad to be out of there and wished we had done take out or gone somewhere else, it wasted a huge chunk of our Friday night sitting there so uncomfortable just waiting and waiting. I think we'd be willing to give this place another chance based on the food alone, but it doesn't seem our experience was unusual since they've changed to table service based on other reviews I've seen, so they'd need to change something majorly for us to want to do that. I would recommend this place for the food, but the experience kind of ruined my ability to do that at this time.

Every pasta I have tried there (which has probably been at least five different ones) is AMAZING. Wine selection is a lot of southern Italian wines I believe. I love the Barbers. They let you get a half dish versus a full dish for the pasta. The full dishes are huge! The pictures you see on this review are half dish portions. Love this option. In the summertime, they have an outdoor seating area with string lights. Service is friendly, sometimes feels a little slow, but really the only con of the place in my opinion is that the host stand is incredibly small and gets crowded very easily. If there are a lot of people you are shuffling to get out of the way constantly or standing outside. Easy price to pay for the food and ambiance of the place.

Started off with an order of Focaccia, then a Formaggi Board, which consisted of thin, sliced prosciutto, walnuts, owls, pecorino, Romano cheese, some fresh mozzarella cheese, some hard salami, and some accompaniments. For our entrees, we tried the Cavatelli Lamb Ragu & the Rigatoni Carbonara. Both entrées were excellent. For dessert, I got the Calabrian Potato Doughnuts, little purses of dough made with potatoes, deep fried, sugar on top and served with a caramel sauce I think. Also excellent!

I have not had a bad meal here and have tried everything from meatballs to salads to pastas and pizzas. Textures were all great and freshness was there - it just depends on your personal preferences for flavors and toppings. My only minor critiques are that the garlic bread barely has a hint of garlic - it's really just a parmesan rustic toast. Overall still good but should be listed as a cheese bread maybe. I also think the drinks I've had there were just ok; nothing outstanding but also nothing bad. But food quality outranks drink quality any day for me when assessing a restaurant.

Went here for a friends birthday so we made a reservation. It wasn't that busy when we arrived but it is a small space so never hurts to reserve a table. Our server was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions about portion sizes and what ingredients were in each item. We ordered the garlic bread and salad to share and I got the Cacio e Pepe full size. I didn't eat the salad but my friends really liked it! The garlic bread was AMAZING! Definitely the talk of the night! It's only three slices and it was a little pricy but seemed worth it. The full-size Cacio e Pepe was creamy and delicious! I didn't finish it all intentionally because I wanted to take the rest for lunch tomorrow. I would definitely suggest this one to anyone! At the bottom of the menu, it does say that a 20% service fee is added onto everyone's bill and that this is not a tip. I think it's important to point this out because some people might misinterpret it so definitely take that as you will. Overall, the food was amazing, it was a little pricey, but worth it for a friend's birthday.

We are so happy we listened because we ended up seeing her here behind the bar! This is a small but cute and quaint spot less than a mile from our hotel, but we took RTD anyway. Made a reservation for 8:15, unfortunately a little delayed but were seated before 8:45 and still had enough time to enjoy a pleasant meal without extending too far behind the 9:30 closing time (we left before 10). I had a delicious lobster ravioli and a glass of bubbles while my sister ordered a creamy pasta with sauce. We both pretty much cleaned our plates. For dessert we shared a scrumptious chocolate cake that was light as air and not overly sweet, just the right amount. We finished with a couple limoncello shots and left feeling perfectly sated. This was such a lovely place to end our vacation, and we would definitely return on our next trip out this way. @azfitfoodfun

'Twas the night before Boulderthon, and 'tis my merry tradition to carb-load the eve before a race. I booked an indoor reservation for 6:45 PM on Saturday, about two evenings beforehand. They started us off with bread and what I believe was an olive oil and balsamic vinegar mixture. Be aware that there is a bread service fee per person, which seemed to be around $2 each. For my salad, I got the Spinaci: baby spinach, toasted almonds, orange segments, goat cheese, dried cranberries, and raspberry vinaigrette. Really nice combination. For my entrée, I chose the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe e Tartufo, which I had already decided on before arriving. It came with Roman-style egg spaghetti, pecorino, black pepper, and black truffle sliced tableside. The server actually shaved the truffle onto the dish right in front of me when it arrived, which was a nice touch. The pasta was very creamy and cheesy, although this version of cacio e pepe was different from others I've had before. I'm used to a thicker or more tubular pasta, while this was much thinner and spaghetti-like. Because of that, it wasn't quite my favorite version flavor-wise, but it was still pretty good -- and surprisingly filling despite the portion looking somewhat small. Others at the table ordered the Rigatoni con Salsiccia with spicy Italian sausage, and I tried some of that as well. It was creamy, filling, and very tasty. They also ordered an extra side of Fettuccine Alfredo. Overall, the food was pretty good and the interior had a nice atmosphere. We did have to wait about 5-10 minutes past our reservation time for the table to be ready, but nothing major. Parking, on the other hand, was a nightmare and nearly made us 15 minutes late -- but what can you do on a Saturday evening in Denver? Overall, Venice was a really nice experience, and both my family and I enjoyed it. I'd happily come back if I'm visiting Denver or Colorado again. I went on to run my half marathon the next morning. This time I had intentionally chosen a vegetarian pre-race dinner just to experiment with whether it worked better for me than eating meat. I'm not convinced it did, so next time I may go for that spicy sausage rigatoni instead and continue the highly scientific carb-loading research. Last visited: September 26, 2026

This is our go-to for brunch before our visits to the Denver Center Performing Arts center to see plays or concerts. Today was the annual family visit to see "A Christmas Carol" First, it is not cheap. It is the restaurant for the Four Seasons hotel, and of course in downtown. We really think it is worth it, though. A major reason for that is the staff. Helpful, friendly, all-around great. Will do almost anything you ask. My granddaughter had a very specific order not on the menu and it was easily and correctly accomodated. The brunch drink menu is small but nice - the espresso martinis really went down well with some of the group. Today I had the Breakfast Quesadilla, which I thought was great - though while most of their plates are a reasonable size, this thing was HUGE. Maria and I could have split it and still had leftovers. Two others at the table ordered it and said it was "special" and "delicious". A great thing about Edge is that they offer a meat-alternative breakfast sausage (Impossible) which I subbed into my quesadilla. They have added a buffet sometime in the last couple of years, and it is not your typical hotel buffet. My grandson did it today and had a great meal. It looked really delicious - my only issue was the meager fresh fruit selection (when I looked, anyway) but it is almost winter... The Country Fried Steak was really enjoyed by my son-in-law. The dining room is better than hotel-standard. Open, light, and airy. We have also hit the bar for drinks and apps after other shows, and it is a pleasant place to hang. They will validate your ticket for the hotel valet parking, which makes it price-competitive with other parking options while being very easy. And the valets are also great.
