I got the lunch special pepper steak with onions and the rice noodles with beef. The lunch special was smaller than other Chinese places and mostly vegetables with tiny portions of steak. The rice noodles were also small and expensive for the amount of food I got. If you are hungry I will not recommend this place. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. I've heard so much hype about this place, I had to try it. First, at time of pickup, the woman who was running the front seemed harried and had zero personality, but didn't think much of it since maybe she was just having a bad day. When it came time to eat, I've noticed that the combination dishes had small portions. The chicken was bland and uninspiring. I actually gauge a Chinese restaurant by how tasty its egg rolls are. It wasn't tasty and oil was oozing out of the roll. NG. The only saving grace was its spare ribs. I've heard this place was very expensive and thought I was in for a treat alluding to fine cuisine. Wish there was a 3.5... but the average seems spot on. The service here, first of all, was super friendly and accommodating, which is not always the case. The food was fine, better than many local Chinese American fare, though I really hated the spring rolls... of course, taste is hard to agree upon for Chinese, though. The sweet&sour shrimp was less bready than many places make it, which is a plus for such an unhealthy treat. Delicious Chinese food! I ordered carry out from this restaurant last night and I've got nothing but great things to say. First of all, the person that answered the phone was friendly and understood exactly what we wanted. What's even better is that she told us our food would be ready in 10 minutes. Yay for speed! Within 10 minutes we arrived to pick up our food and it was all ready. Total time from ordering to picking up to getting back home was 25 minutes! it is fast. We ordered the General tso's chicken, the honey garlic chicken, pork fried rice, 2 egg rolls and a quart of egg drop soup.it is great.they all use white meat. The General tso's chicken was crispy, flavorful, not too sweet and not overly drenched in sauce. It was delicious! The honey garlic chicken was extra crispy and I really liked how they gave the honey on the side to prevent it from getting soggy. Both meals came with pork fried rice. The fried rice was eccellent with chunks of pork, vegetables and bean sprouts. It was great! My favorite part of the meal were the egg rolls. Talk about YUM! Gary Woo is one of the few places I would drive 30 minutes to simply because their food is better than the Asian food I've tried, near me. They use quality ingredients in their dishes and it shows after the first bite (in my experience especially the sushi) which is probably why I've been ordering my food from their for the past 4 years. Also, their customer service has never give me problems-- they make sure you get the food you ordered (my boyfriend is picky with veggies and they haven't messed up) and pretty quickly. Picked up food for my husband tonight. He began with the crab Rangoon and then started to open the sweet and sour chicken when he stopped noticing a long black hair through the clear lid. He called and they gave him a hard time about a refund and said a store credit would be placed under his name. He agreed, hung up and knowing he would never eat there again...I brought it back to the store leaving the crab Rangoon home in the trash since it was an open container. Four people were in the store and could not figure out how to refund my credit card, $21.36. So they gave me $13 in cash back instead of the full amount...because I didn't bring the crab Rangoon with me!!! When I expressed my disappointment they said "oh well, you didn't bring it back so we charge you for it." I was disgusted and shook my head and walked out. One of the female employees ended up calling me from the door when I was out to my car already (in my head I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and thinking she was giving the remainder of my money back), but I continued on my way. I feel bad writing this, but I needed to take the time so others know what they're getting. I've never done this EVER, but I took 2 bites and tossed the food in the trash, and I'm not picky at all! I ordered the most basic Chinese America food -- General Tso chicken, and it's not even close to what it should be. Also ordered Chicken vegetables with rice and it is just covered in a not-so-good tasting brown sauce. I'm pretty sure it's the same sauce poured onto my General Tso chicken. It's kind of upsetting. They didn't offer to replace as we live .03 miles from their restaurant, nor offer a refund for that 1 item after adamantly expressing that this dish was 100% over cooked and inedible... I'm so sad to have to update my review, being that they're one of my closest food options for lunch, I find myself here maybe minimal 2-3x a weeks, sometimes even more. For lunch today, I ordered chicken teriyaki and the sauce was super sweet and the chicken tasted like rubber. Since it was a sushi lunch combo I ate my California roll and miso soup instead. For dinner, I stopped over and asked for a steamed container of rice noodle to save the trouble for doing it when I got home, would have taken me a few minutes to boil noodles but they are convenient. Needless to say, I got charged $14.36 for a container of boiled noodles! No protein, nothing! Literally boiled noodles! I'm appalled! This is a complete rip off. I've been eating here for 3 months and I'm sad to say this will be the last time I spend any money here. The same noodles are used in their Singapore rice noodle dish, for the exact same price I could have had shrimp, pork, sausage, and vegetables stir fried into it with curry powder for the exact same price! 3.75 I've never been the the Woo's in east Boca because frankly I heard Gary is a real dick. The place looks creepy from the outside too. Plus the prices are high and I heard from several people the service sometimes blows, and not in a good way. And WTF is up with this pudgy Woody Allen looking mofo calling himself Gary Woo anyways? That's some blasphemous sh*t right there. I haven't been duped into thinking somebody was Asian like that since I found out the Wu-Tang Clan was full of brothas from Staten Island. The take-out joint in West Boca is pretty good though. Service is usually on-point with a smile. Prices are higher than your average neighborhood Chinese restaurant but I think the food justifies it. Picked up a take-out dinner of Won Ton soup, General Tso's chicken, an egg roll and an appetizer of fried pork dumplings The generously-sized offerings were full of rich, savory flavor and may be the best Chinese food I've ever tasted. I don't say that lightly. The take-out menu here is extensive and I was really able to appreciate the exceptional quality and preparation of the food. The order was hot and ready for pick-up precisely as promised. You'll definitely spend an extra buck or two per entree over some of the other Chinese restaurants around...but you'll find the food here to be especially Woo-nderful and worth it. Living in West Boca for 15 years we tried Gary Woos about a year ago we were about to just give up on good Chinese as I had tried many local places. The people here are so friendly either in person or calling in an order. We have tried many different dishes and are always happy with the quality and quantity. When I ordered on Monday 6/13/16 I asked for the honey garlic chicken dinner combo with egg drop soup and an egg roll and I asked for an extra egg roll. The woman on the phone said "Thats an extra dollar charge". I said thats fine. When the order comes theres no egg drop soup. So the driver calls the woman and shes like "no you say you want 2 egg roll". I replied "Yes and you said you were going to charge me an extra dollar for it". She then says "Oh, I make mistake bye". So I said to the driver "I dont know what that meant if im getting it or not". Hes like I'll go ask her and see. You weren't charged an extra dollar so I don't know, I've never seen this before".
