Special Fried Rice
Randy S.

Perfect for a Chinese food takeout craving. Stuck with the standards -- egg roll (nice and crispy), general tso's chicken, honey garlic chicken, sesame chicken and fried rice. They threw in extra duck sauce as per my request. Will repeat for the next craving for sure.

We haven't been here in years since it is in our old neighborhood, strictly takeout and delivery. My wife ordered the Vegetable Egg Foo Young, served with white rice and gravy. Also available with pork, chicken, shrimp, or a special Egg Foo Young including pork, chicken and shrimp. I tried the Shrimp with Garlic Sauce combination dinner with green pepper, celery, carrots, mushrooms, and snow peas. Comes with egg roll, fried rice and choice of wonton, egg drop, mixed or hot & sour soup. Very good and spicy.

Two years ago I rated this take out place with five stars. Under new ownership for well over a year now, I gave it a shot which was a big mistake on my part. Writing two star reviews is something I hate doing. I was treated rudely and the food was awful, I mean throw it in the garbage awful. I phoned in my order and the lady was very nice to me on the phone. I left her a tip which is something I usually do for take out. Tonight I left a generous tip & she looked at the receipt, shrugged and walked away, not even a thank you! Anyway her young son was working with her and he was probably about ten years old. She left him "in charge" and went in the back to cook or do whatever. I wanted to ask her a question so I asked her son to please get his mom for me. He went in the back & I hear the woman tell him to find out what I wanted. The kid comes back and rudely asked me what I wanted. At the same time another customer walked in & he screamed "walk in order" to his mom, who was still in the back. He was a cute kid, but his mom shouldn't allow him to run the place when she can't be behind the counter. Unprofessional and unpleasant to say the least. The food sealed the deal that under no circumstances will I return. The last thing I took a bite of was a stale/soft fortune cookie. I gagged and ran into the bathroom. Disgusting! The fried rice was flavorless and the diced onions were not fully cooked. Who wants raw onions in their fried rice? Roast Pork Chow Mein; just no words. It was that bad. Orange Chicken was obviously premade, it definitely was not fresh. Same thing as in a mall food court but worse. It needed more sauce & the chicken itself was mushy and inedible. I didn't try the sesame noodles so I personally can't comment on them and I don't like them to begin with. My friend said "it's edible" and then proceeded to eat the entire container. I waisted my money and I don't feel good. Based upon MY experience, I don't feel comfortable recommending Lucky Express. I just can't. Located on the south side of Clint Moore just a bit west of Military Trail.

shrimp fried rice + boneless ribs

The food tastes good but the portion of rice is too small. Shrimp fried rice is a upcharge of $3, it looks well portioned when it's full. The food is filling but if you pay $15 for a dinner special it should be $15 worth. Customer service is not well, they gave me the wrong order and called me to tell me to check if I have the correct order after i'd already reached my destination, it was not my order. They stated if I want my correct order I have to come back no delivery. They wanted the incorrect order back but i'd already thrown it in the garbage, restaurants should not take food back especially in the times we are in.

Their food is good and not expensive at all. A good place to order from when you're not in the mood to cook.

It's hard to find good Chinese food in the area. This family run takeout place is my go to. I highly recommend the boneless pork ribs.

Good food. We had take out and as a picky New Yorker, it didn't disappoint. The sesame chicken was great.

I got the Sesame Tofu, and it was a good-sized portion of nicely fried tofu and lots of perfectly cooked broccoli. My boyfriend got the Garlic Chicken combo dinner and he was pleasantly surprised with everything, even the wonton soup that came with his meal. The guy working there that day was not expecting us to want to dine in, since it seems like all of their customers order takeout or delivery, but he gladly gave us some disposable plates and plastic utensils after we got our food in takeout containers. He was very nice and seemed both appreciative and amused that I attempted to speak in Cantonese with him (I am very rusty). Again, since it's a takeout spot, there were only two small tables inside and no outdoor seating, but it was extremely clean inside and very bright, unlike most Chinese takeout spots. Would happily come back here and try other tofu dishes!

Here's the update. 2 combo dinners were $49. Mongolian Beef my wife enjoyed. My kung pao chicken was satisfactory but not special. Our two sides were egg rolls which are large and good. Florida thick skin egg rolls. In Chicago there is a thinner skin preferred by us - but wtf do we know using knives and forks for pizza. I digress. My hot n sour soup EXCELLENT. We opted for white rice with both orders. Order ready as promised in 15 minutes. Again - the parking is difficult and high curb along with tree roots make exiting my car a challenge. I recommend parking to the South of the building and getting some exercise with less risk of falling.

Some of the best meals happen in places you'd never think to look…read more Like... inside an office building lobby. Red Pine Restaurant is exactly that kind of spot. Tucked away, low key, almost hiding in plain sight. You walk in expecting corporate coffee and awkward small talk... and instead you find upscale, elegant Chinese food that feels like it belongs in a much flashier zip code. This place is worth the hunt. Inside, it's polished without being stiff. Clean, calm, and quietly confident. The kind of place that doesn't need to shout because it knows exactly what it's doing. We went family style, which is the move here. Portions are generous, built for sharing, built for trying everything, built for making bad decisions in the best way. Started with the wonton soup. The wontons themselves? Excellent. Tender, flavorful, clearly made with care. The broth had depth, real flavor, not just salty filler. Only note... I wish it came out hotter. It showed up just above room temp, which felt like a missed opportunity because the flavor deserved better. Then the pork egg rolls showed up and completely stole the show. Game over. Crispy on the outside, not greasy, packed with flavor. Every bite hit. This wasn't just a good egg roll. This was the best egg roll I've had in Florida. No debate. No hesitation. Crown it. Shrimp shu mai came next and changed the pace in the best way. Light, delicate, elegant. Like the calm after the egg roll storm. Then the mains landed. Beef with sesame and broccoli. Absolute winner. Cooked just right, balanced, rich without being heavy. The kind of dish you keep going back to even when you tell yourself you're full. Chicken lo mein sealed the deal. No gimmicks. Just done right. Noodles had the perfect texture, everything balanced, everything working. Final verdict. Five stars. Easy. Hidden location. Elevated food. One minor temperature hiccup that didn't stand a chance against how good everything else was. Find it. Order too much. Thank me later.

Pleople got seated all around us (after we sat down) and got drinks, noodles and even ordered before our server made it our to our table. Also, we seem to gravitate back to only few things on their Dim Sum and Dumplings menu like the ribs & soup dumplings. We still find their main menu limiting and missing things especially since we don't eat beef or fried items. We also had their Mu Shu and it was so watery, the pancakes didn't hold up. Too bad they stopped with the specials as we occassionally got a nice fish dish or something different to try. Time to keep hunting for other places to keep in our rotation. Also, I tried their Noodle soup bowl for lunch one day and it states it comes with 4 wonton. Mine only had 3. I messaged them and never heard back.

The staff was really nice, the restaurant was super clean, and the ingredients were fresh. I had the spicy Taiwanese soup base. My boyfriend had the Coconut Tom Yum. The conveyor belt was super fun because you could watch it as it went by and pick up whatever garnishes you wanted. Green onions, mushrooms, parsley, cilantro, cauliflower ... I could go on and on. You start by picking a soup of choice and then you gather the food you need, cook it yourself in the pot and there are instructions and available on the wall for cooking times. It's relatively straightforward. Be careful with how much you grab as they will charge you for any excessive leftovers. I got the tom kha and my fiance got the tom yum. He found his soup to be a little on the lemony side for his taste but I think that's just a preference not a reflection of the quality of the soup. I loved my coconutty tom kha. Our waiter showed us how to operate the dial and gave us information about cooking time recommendation. We ordered some hot tea and had a wonderful time. The buffet appeared to be clean and the food fresh and well kept. I tried a variety of meat as well as seafood. The shrimp had a little bit of a previously frozen kind of taste but the scallops were excellent. I think in the end I'm not a big fan of the red meat even though it cooks quickly and tastes fine I just think preference wise I more so enjoyed loading up on the vegetables and noodles. The best thing I had there was the gyoza, so freaking good, highly recommend. Going inside, the restaurant felt vibrantly red and welcoming. Fortunately, there were a good amount of open tables and we were seated quickly. Tonight we ordered 1x chicken with garlic sauce, 1x chow fun, 1x spare ribs, 1x hot & sour soup, 1x egg drop soup, 1x wonton soup, and 2x eggrolls. Going in with my review,*disclosure: not the largest fan of Chinese food* but the food was great! The chicken with garlic sauce had a well balanced sauce, chicken was very tender, fresh assortment of vegetables, garlic wasn't overpowering! My favorite dish of the night was the chow fun! It had those bouncy chewy noodles, savory sauce, and tender strips of char siu pork! The spareribs (char siu) had a sticky delectable salty sweet bbq sauce, and were on the bone tender! Only critique for the night was that the hot & sour soup could've used more white pepper or that hot factor. Egg drop had tender swirls of silky egg and a refreshing light broth. The wonton soup had a clear flavorful broth, nicely cooked wontons; for extra flavor I add the hot mustard IYKYK! The eggrolls weren't your typical hollow shells as they were packed with minced pork meat and tasted fresh fried to order! Overall, we were very pleased with both the food and service tonight. For these reasons, we'd be happy to give Mr. Shens 5/5 stars!
