While I was in the Boca Raton area, I stopped at Park Plaza West to get some Chinese food from Bamboo Wok. There was limited parking, but managed to find a spot. It was a busy night with people steadily coming in, either to place a to-go order or to pick up an order. I approached the counter and placed an order for a dinner combination of orange chicken (requested the food not to be made spicy) served with my choice of pork fried rice and wonton soup with a side of wonton fried noodles. I also added two egg rolls to the order: Shrimp and roast pork. The food was prepared really quickly and it was well-prepared. The egg rolls were fried to a golden brown with adequate filling. Nothing too special about the wonton soup. It was a small container filled with three wontons and a few sliced scallions in a deep yellow broth. The orange chicken was prepared nicely with a flavorful orange sauce. The fried rice was cooked to a soft consistency without salt. I added some soy sauce for some flavor. Overall, the food was okay. It didn't wow my taste buds like the Coconut Creek location, but it was sufficient. read more

Shrimp and lobster sauce-absolutely terrible, consistency of wallpaper paste, no seasoning, no minced pork, no scallion, just a skimpy portion of small/kind of soft (not fresh) shrimp, with frozen peas, in a wallpaper paste-like sauce. Pork egg fu young pancakes were soaked in oil, thin, and had no flavor. Tried it on a friends recommendation but sadly, you get what you pay for. We love this place! I ordered while leaving work and everything was hot and ready after a ten minute drive. The service is amazing! Always greeted with a smile and I got free fried rice with my order. I love the condiment table where you can hand pick sauces and fortune cookies. The Sichuan Beef was perfectly spicy. I judge a Chinese restaurant by their egg rolls and theirs are perfect. The teriyaki beef sticks are to die for. Not a life-altering error, but, come on... plus, we all know broccoli is more expensive so this "mistake" just happened to save them money. The moo-shu was very liquid heavy, as well. This was one of the worst Chinese meals I have had in a long time. Can't remember when. Starting with the Cold Sesame Noodles - not cold and loaded with sauce. The spare ribs were tough and almost impossible to chew off the bone. The Moo Shu Pork was disgusting. The vegetables in it were chopped into large chunky pieces as was the pork. When it is made in a fine chinese restaurant, it is very delicate and this was not. It was impossible to wrap the contents up and pick it up to eat. Maybe I am too fussy having come from New York where you can find a good Chinese restaurant anywhere in any borough. This will be the last time I ever order from this place. I'm still sticking with my four star rating from eight years ago. Bamboo Wok has remained consistently good throughout the years. The Wonton Soup is good although the broth is a bit on the salty side. Still good! Roast Pork Chow Mein is delicious & heavy on the onions which is how I prefer it anyway. Roast Pork Fried Rice is tasty but the onions could be cooked a little more. Just my opinion. I don't care for Cold Sesame Noodles or Pan Fried Dumplings but my friend does and he really enjoys both. The Boneless Ribs are always good and a favorite of mine. I try not to eat fried food anymore but the General Tao's Chicken and the Orange Chicken used to be favorites too. It's been a long time since I have ordered anything fried but I imagine those dishes are still just as good. That's what I like about Bamboo Wok; you know what your getting. If I haven't complained about anything from this restaurant in eight years, well that alone speaks volumes. If you know me then you know I tend to complain sometimes, but not here. I pretty much like it all. Just a reminder this isn't a sit down full service restaurant. Take out or delivery only. They do a great job packaging everything up, so no issues with that. My bf and I usually order from China Spring II and now I see why. My bf and I wanted to try a new spot since our usual spot was closed due to vacation. To start the Krab Rangoons barely had any Krab in them and were a little over fried so it was tough to chew into. The house mei fun had no flavor so we saturated it in soy sauce. The sauce on my sesame chicken was so thick it congealed and you could see the shapes of the chunks of sesame chicken imprinted in the thick sauce when I pulled it out and not to mention dry. Also, in every bit of my fried rice I chewed on uncooked rice kernels which was unpleasant obviously. The egg roll wasn't bad but was not great. I did request for extra scallions after mentioning this is my first time ordering from this place but the guy didn't write it down so I got 3 slices of scallions which you can see in the picture. For $40 I am highly disappointed especially we do not like to throw away food in this house at all and none of this food is salvageable nor delicious enough to suck it up and eat or repurpose for that matter. While I have been a customer for years, I was recently left with a bad taste (figuratively) in my mouth. I ordered the Shrimp with Lobster sauce combo and added Lo Mein with Beef for an extra $2.50. Doing so automatically excludes fried rice. Upon picking up my meal, I asked them if I could have a small white rice. They gave me tsouris and ageda stating that it doesn't come with white rice. I said, do you want to lose a customer over a lousy white rice? Many Chinese restaurants include it for free with each order. Eventually they gave in and told me they would only do so this one time. Bamboo Wok is a takeout and delivery restaurant. They will make food to order and it is delicious. I always pick up a large Beef Lo Mein with no vegetables and no garlic and most times Wonton Egg Drop Soup or chicken wings. The large Lo Mein has twice as much of other restaurants. The owners are husband and wife and work a lot of hours. They are very nice. The prices are fair. I have been picking up for years. Let me start by saying I've probably been to bamboo wok 5 times in the 20 times I've been to boca and it is always good, especially for the price. Ordering & Pickup: Because it was Christmas Eve, I ordered online. It didn't tell me how long until my order was ready so I had to call in which was slightly annoying because it rang busy the first 10 or so times I tried. Chalk it up to Christmas eve. When I got there I saw a line of probably 10 people outside which made more sense when I saw the sign that said 2 people max in the store due to covid. Ultimately, I was happy with my 15 or so minute wait to get to the counter but I heard a lot of complaining around me about their lack of calling out which orders were ready. Essentially, if your food is ready but you get behind a person who just ordered, you are waiting even if your food is up. Not ideal. Food: my wife and I ordered 2 shrimp egg rolls, egg drop soup, sweet and sour chicken and shrimp chow fun. The egg rolls were fresh and crispy. You know what I'm talking about if you've gone to a place that has egg rolls that have been sitting around. This is not that type of place. The egg drop soup and sweet and sour chicken were both good but pretty much like any other version you get at any hole in the wall Chinese food restaraunt. The shrimp chow fun was excellent. The noodles tasted homemade and it had at least 10 full size shrimp. One of the better chow fun dishes I've ever had. The entire meal cost around 40$ which I felt was fair for the amount of food. Ultimately, I think bamboo wok is a 4.5 (during covid) when you consider the food and the value with the slightly annoying ordering process. I have been coming to this establishment for the past 12 years to get my fix on New York style take out Chinese food. This establishment has plenty of parking spaces. They have take-out menus outside on the door for those individuals who do not want to come inside to get one, or if they are closed during the time you come. They also have their menu on their website as well as coupons that could be used on your order. This establishment is quick and efficient at placing your order (which can be customized) and cooking it. They have even put in a little table with chairs for those individuals who are waiting for their order to be ready or for those individuals who want to eat in. They also have lunch and dinner specials at this location. I usually only order during lunch time, so I end up ordering a lunch special. I am a big fan of spicy food so I always get their Spicy Kung Pao Chicken (with no nuts) with Chicken Lo Mein lunch special which also comes with a drink. For some extra heat, I always pick up a container or two of their spicy red oil sauce to put on my dish. Overall, this place gets a 4 stars from me. The price is reasonable according to the quantity and the quality of the food. If there is anything I would recommend this establishment to improve on, it would be to please put some tables outside for the Bamboo Wok customers to enjoy. Other than that, this place has great food, great owners, great customer service. I'd highly recommend this establishment for others to try out. read more

I'm a big believer in supporting local small businesses, so I was a loyal (high tipping) customer of this place for a very long time, especially when they were struggling after the pandemic. Unfortunately, they're food is so inconsistent that I never know whether or not the food is going to be good, or really really bad. Tonight I spent $70 on dinner for my family and the food was next level bad. I called to let the owner know that the food was not good tonight, and that I would be bringing it back the next day. First time trying Bamboo wok! I must say it is delicious. We ordered vegetable dumplings, fried rice, steamed tofu and vegetables, and I requested to sub the chicken for tofu, making General Tso's tofu. The quantities of food are substantial and you will definitely have some awesome left overs. The quality of the food was also very impressive, as everything tasted well seasoned and flavored. The General Tso's sauce on the fried tofu was amazing and the dumplings were delicious as well. I will be coming back here soon. Been at least 10 and closer to 15 years since I've ordered from Bamboo Wok so you can say I was long overdue to try again! We ordered mix Egg Drop and Wonton Soup, Pan Fried Dumplings, Honey Garlic Chicken, Hunan Beef, and Roast Pork Lo Mein. Got a free Fried Rice with the order. Took less than 15 minutes for them to have it ready. Was surprised to see the same lady working the phones there as in the past. Think she must be an owner. Overall the food here may be a tad greasy but it tastes really good! The dumplings are shaped differently than the past but with the same filling it was the same rich, savory flavor. Not to mention the generous portions, plenty of leftovers for the next day! I must say the Chinese food here greatly exceeds the takeouts where I live in SoCal. All places out there don't have what you'd think would be staple items like Lo Mein and Honey Garlic Chicken or Hunan Beef.... Will order again! read more
