This is an update to my review from about ten months ago, which wasn't very good. I was craving Chinese food and my favorite place was closed, so I gave Bamboo Wok another try, and I'm so happy I did. The Krab Rangoons are back to their original shape, and they were pretty good. I also got my usual Pork Chow Mein, and that was good as well. My friend had the Cold Sesame Noodles and he really enjoyed them. Sometimes after a rough week, I just want some comfort food, and I love Americanized Chinese take-out. Growing up on Long Island, we ordered Chinese food often, and I loved it then and I love it even more now. I'll order from here again, as they have improved since my last order. Still not my favorite, but Bamboo Wok is a decent backup. read more

Based on our experience with takeout, but they also offer delivery. My husband is a big fan of Chinese takeout and discovered this place, so we decided to give it a try. Our first visit, we ordered in person and waited about 15 minutes for our food. The second time, we called ahead and our order was ready when we arrived! Service was fast and easy. We tried the Szechuan chicken and shrimp combo order on our first visit, which came with an egg roll, wonton chips, and white rice. I added a side of sauce not realizing there would already be plenty with the main dish. On our second visit, we went with the regular Szechuan chicken, which also comes with white rice (brown rice is available for an upcharge) -- and it was easily enough for two to share. The food is flavorful without being too oily or overdressed, and the spice level is solid. I personally like a little more heat, so I topped mine off with red pepper flakes at home, but it is good as-is. Veggies were cooked well and everything was served hot and fresh. Their menu offers plenty of variety, including lunch specials and combo options for those looking to try a little of everything. We enjoyed our orders and will definitely be back when the craving hits! read more

Bamboo Wok - Szechuan chicken and shrimp combo with egg roll, white rice, noodle crackers, and side of General Tso's sauce - Chinese Near Me - Boynton Beach, Florida

I felt like a lunch special today and I couldn't get the website to work so I use the telephone. 10 minutes later I went to Bamboo Wok and my lunch was ready to pick up. Lunch was abundant for $15. Four spareribs, an eggroll and fried rice were included. I filled the bag with a fortune cookie and some duck sauce on my way out. Lunch was hot and the plastic container did not leak. The ribs on top were perfect with the meat falling off the bones. The two ribs hidden on the bottom were overcooked gritty and garbage. I'm glad I wasn't too hungry just had a yen for Chinese food. read more

Ordered pickup & was busy but food was ready quickly. 15 minutes! I ordered shrimp w veggies on their light menu. Shrimp are big & plenty. The veggies are crisp with side of rice. I tried the spicy beef & veggies that have really good flavor, not very spicy. They have a nice write up from the newspaper on their wall. There's 2 small tables if you want to dine in. read more

Returned for the egg rolls. I'm not sure what happened, but they were too crispy on the outside and mushy on the inside. The ribs, soup, and tofu stirfry were all fine. read more

I had read about this small family-owned chain of three Chinese takeout restaurants. So, I thought I would try it since I am disappointed with the majority of Chinese restaurants in the area. I ordered the Shrimp Garlic Sauce Combination dinner with peppers, onions, broccoli, mushrooms, and string beans. Supposed to be spicy but it wasn't. Just OK. Comes with Pork Fried Rice and Pork Egg Roll and Choice of Soup ：Egg Drop or Wonton Soup or Hot & Sour Soup or Mixed Soup. read more

Ordered online, extra instructions followed perfectly. Food was ready when I got there. Place doesn't look so super appealing, but not awful. Only takeout. Good selection of standard Chinese food. Not fancy. Decent quality. We ordered pork fried dumplings. They were ok. Not the best but not bad. And the meat inside was good, didn't have any weird hard chunks that some places have. Had sesame chicken. It was a dinner combo and it was still a big order. A lot of chicken and a lot of rice. The chicken was white meat, good quality, not fatty. Sauce was a bit heavy but tasty. It came with soup. I got hot and sour. It was also a large container, like a full order. The soup was good, although a bit bland. I would have liked it a bit spicier. Also came with an egg roll, which was good and tasty and very big. The other meal we got was pork egg foo young with pork fried rice. My friend said it was very good. Absolutely enough food for 2 meals. Very good price. No, this isn't NYC Chinese food. But it was good and satisfying. I'll definitely be coming back here. read more

For over 20 years, this has been my go-to spot for Chinese take out. It's exactly what it should be, they're not trying to be fancy or anything, just good, traditional Chinese food. Have had many different dishes, from chicken to shrimp to beef, lo mein, appetizers, dinner combos, everything is good! They're very quick too, you can pretty much be on your way as soon as you call in your order. Take-out only. read more

Pretty standard Chinese takeout, which is honestly hard to find in south FL. Food was good, although the white rice consistency seemed a little off. Ordered online and came to pick it up, which was a super smooth process. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant is small, which is consistent with Chinese takeout places. Big fan of their "diet" menu which is healthier. read more

Finally had the chance to stop at Bamboo Wok and this place is the real deal for anyone looking for New York / New Jersey style Chinese food. This is a take out restaurant and the food was great! Ordered 2 combo platters, very generous portion for under $15, including a soup, egg roll, fried rice, and entree. Everything was delicious. The man behind the counter was super nice and we will definitely be back. My only suggestion would be maybe a couple of tables outside. read more

Good diner pleasantly surprised. Will definitely go back. A big plus it is a couple of minutes from my home

Food is very good for Chinese takeout in Florida. I second that it reminds me of takeout places in New York. Though we are not in New York and this place could use a serious makeover on the inside. I got the sesame chicken and substituted lo main for the rice that came with the dinner special. That was $3 extra charge. The meals are really big and you can split them. But they don't heat up well the next day. I liked how the chicken was all white meat. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the pork egg roll was crispy and had a great flavor. I learned you must put your order in on the phone before you come. And also like all other reviews you end up waiting 20min once you get there. It's a long line and one woman at the counter. You can take as many fortune cookies as you want but the humidity makes them super stale and they are not good. The flavor of my dish was really on the sweet side. The noodles were even sweet. I had horrible indigestion the next morning. When I'm in Florida and my family want Chinese this is the place to go to though, I tried some others and no place in the area has better American Chinese takeout. Dinner special is a great deal. read more

Food was terrible, boneless spare ribs had a sour smell. The pork fried rice was over cooked and the chicken wings were bland. The location in Coconut Creek is head and shoulders above this location. What a shame. read more

Congratulations on your Sun Sentinel award as best Chinese takeout. Placed order of Sesame Chicken Chicken Chow Mein dinner and Sweet and sour dinner on Thursday 01/08/26 everything was delicious. Dinners included soup and egg roll. Great friendly service at pickup. read more

Just look at the chart of accumulated reviews. There are as many 5 stars as there are 1 star. That's because this mini chain of Chinese take out is inconsistent with its staffing. Every time I go there it seems that different people are manning the work stations. The result is the dishes are hit or miss. One day the Orange Chicken is perfectly acceptable. The next day it should have been thrown away before packing it up and put into a bag for a hopeful customer. You could think of it as the Forrest Gump of take outs... you never know what to expect. read more

The Boynton location used to be good...Now it's a coin toss as to consistency. The quality keeps getting worse. And, don't dare make a comment or question anything to the mean lady behind the counter!!! read more

Needed a local Chinese restaurant for my 30 min lunch break and Google maps found me this place. So glad I didn't see the reviews beforehand, as I likely would have not tried it. But I am so glad I came here. The food was delicious, made quickly and properly and I was able to enjoy about half of it before having to return to work (it was a large lunch special portion size). I decided to write this review to let others know that you can't always go by the low rated reviews. Sometimes the ones writing the horrible reviews are probably the nasty people that you run into while out and about around town, that you yourself find obnoxious. And then there are the people like us who see the good, are less uptight and give credit where credit is due. I will definitely be returning here for lunch when I am in the mood for some good, quality Chinese food. read more

This place is located on Jog Street. We ordered various dishes including spring rolls, vegetable fried rice, vegetable lo mein, broccoli in garlic sauce, among other dishes. The food was bland, not very flavorful. They also didn't give us all the dishes we ordered. They didn't offer to credit us for the mistake. They didn't apologize for making us drive back to the restaurant for their mistake. Definitely would choose another option as there are other Chinese options in Boynton Beach read more

Takeout only choice - most similar to NY Chinese that I have found. Woman who works the front of the house also does some cooking and order assembly is not very friendly. Food was ok but not going to find great Chinese takeout around here. read more

Food quality and prices are ok for a "fast food" to go restaurant. I usually only order from here on the way back home after picking my son up from school. Pretty much only order the chicken lo mein, orange chicken and steamed white rice and although far from cuisine quality never had a problem with it. I always have fun placing the order with the lady I believe who owns the place with her unmistakable voice saying..."Bamboo Wok may I help you" Rattle off my order...... "Twenty minute" click.....very Seinfeld like exchange lol read more

We have been getting dinner at Bamboo Wok for years. We generally order moo shi shrimp and hot and sour soup. Tonight's dinner was a disappointment. The hot and sour soup was room temperature. There were no pancakes with the moo shi shrimp. The usual Hoisin sauce was also missing. It's just too much trouble to go back and try to get it straightened out so we ate it and wrote this review. We urge you to stay away from the place until they replace the present amateur cook. read more

Food for dinner is way more greasy and way less flavorful than it is for lunch, when you do finally get it. Delays are long for orders at dinner, but it does not end with a ready in 25 minutes. There are multiple people waiting, quasi socially distanced, which MIT showed does NOT work. Everyone is in masks, which also don't work, never did, and multiple studies show it. It's first come and a long line. People ahead of you have food not ready. They get to the front, and then the whole line waits longer. Maybe they get to the next in line 3-5 minutes later. There is no system or organization for people whose food is ready and waiting. I waited 15 minutes from my lining up, and my food, was ready the whole time, with 5 crazy masked people in front of me. It's a throw back to what NY must have been two years ago. My food was lukewarm and tasteless, when I finally got it. No place else is like this at this point. Never again for dinner... read more

Being a take out only place one would think the service would be better. Orders take upwards of 40 minutes after ordering upon arrival. The food is average or a little better. Vegetables are fresh, portions are generous, and the prices are very fair. The wait for your food brings us the most negative part, the clientele is probably the worst I've ever witnessed. Rude, obnoxious, and poorly dressed New Yorkers congregate to harass other customers and the cashier taking the orders with baseless complaints. Needless to say, I won't be returning. read more

ordered from them for some time! This time the food was terrible! It was tasteless. the lime in was oily and the chow neon was not the best. About 3 weeks ago I ordered bones ribs which were fatty and full of gristle!! Done! food has gone way down!! read more

We ordered food Christmas Day They said there was a 2 hour wait. We were okay with that because we wanted to eat later. We ordered shrimp with lobster sauce. There was more lobster sauce than shrimp. To charge for a shrimp dinner and put in so little shrimp Is not right read more

I will never go there again. I found hair in my food. I also found the woman behind the counter to be very rude and unfriendly.

I had no idea it was possible to get Chinese food so wrong. Let's start with the "hot and sour" soup, which is completely wrong: no bamboo shoots, not enough vinegar (not sour), not enough chilli (not hot), and not enough corn starch (too thin). The fried rice was very bland, needs a lot of sesame oil at minimum, and maybe a little Liquid Smoke. The boneless pork ribs were super tough; should have tenderized them with baking soda, and the sauce was all wrong; just buy char siu sauce from the Asian store and use that. The broccoli beef was okay, but needed more corn starch. The duck sauce packets were tasteless, not sweet but salty...wrong. The owners really should subscribe to the "Cooking with Lau" YouTube channel, and actually learn how to cook Chinese food. This place is a complete failure. read more

They are swift and effective, there are huge protective measures for the more COVID-paranoid, and the boneless spare ribs are delicious. However, the rest of the food was thoroughly flavorless. read more

Positives: prices were inexpensive and food for take out was ready when promised. But Food was just okay, mostly tasteless. Hot & sour soup was neither. Egg rolls were kinda puny. Pork lo mein was eh. Why match it with fried rice in the combo I don't know. A vegetable might have been better. Wife seemed to enjoy her who-flung-dung, I mean egg foo young, but shortly after complained of a stomach ache. Besides that, it was good. I would consider ordering from here again, but only after exhausting other options. read more

A disaster!! Totally disorganized. Taking phone orders and not responding to the customers who came in to pick up those orders!! Then yelling at the customer because they are trying to pick up their order. Go somewhere else read more

Sesame chicken always on point would recommend if I'm your in the area. I get double egg roll instead of soup on the dinner special.

This is a 3 with grading on the curve. We liked the COVID precautions, and the order was ready when promised. The food was a different story. Wonton soup was bland, with minimal wontons (1, to be exact). Broccoli was greasy. General Tso chicken is supposed to be sweet AND spicy; if there were any peppers in it, I didn't see or taste them. I had to check the order to make sure it was General Tso, and not Orange Chicken or Honey Garlic Chicken, by mistake, because the only flavor was "sweet." We live within a mile or two, so it's hard to beat the convenience, but even my laziness has limits! read more

The food was awful. The soup was dishwater. The chicken dish was all celery and very little anything else. The other dish we had was also tasteless without and flavor or taste. It was a total waste of money that we threw away in the garbage. ZERO STARS. read more

The only Chinese takeout place worth a damn in the Boynton / Delray area. Consistent. Fresh. Tasty. Every single time. White meat chicken in all the chicken-based dishes, and they will happily adjust not only the heat but sodium levels upon request. There may be a wait if you walk up and order, but if you just call ahead, your food will almost always be ready in 30 minutes at the most. There's a huge well-lit parking lot as well. It may take a little bit to pay if there's a line, but that's because they are focused on producing fresh food. Plus, you get to fill your bag with whatever condiments you need, so you don't have to worry about the restaurant skimping. read more

Pre-COVID food was standard but not anymore...very bland. My biggest problem, though, is the filth. The ceiling is falling apart and the floor is sticky. This place needs to be scrubbed and remodeled. read more

The food is tasty and everything can be made with less sodium for anyone else watching with it still having plenty of salt and flavor. We been ordering takeout the last few years.
