Silver Walk is a great local Chinese takeout spot, conveniently located right off W. Atlantic Ave. and Congress. The owners recently changed, and honestly, I think it's even better now. The flavors really stand out--every sauce we tried was tasty and well balanced. The General Tso's chicken was cooked perfectly, with just the right mix of sweetness and a nice kick of spice. You can tell it was made fresh and with care. The egg rolls were also very good--crispy on the outside and flavorful inside--and I already can't wait to order them again. If you're looking for solid, flavorful Chinese takeout in the area, Silver Walk is definitely worth a stop. We'll absolutely be back. read more

We were craving some Chinese food for lunch but wanted to also stay home and relax so we decided to try Silver Wok for the first time. The menu selection, taste and portions were pretty good considering this being a takeout only restaurant. Wow! I have been on a quest to find good Chinese food near me. I had read that there were new owners for Silver Wok and the reviews were positive so I decided to try it for lunch today. It is only take out so know that. The lady on the phone was very nice, ready in 15 minutes. The chef waived and greeted me from the kitchen and quickly the lady that took my order came out and greeted me. Thanked me for my order with a smile. (I like feeling like my business is appreciated -- although it rarely happens anymore). But it did here! Packaging was excellent. Sounds like a no big deal thing but have you ever had the opposite and ended with smelly food all over your car seat?! Packaging stapled shut, extra cardboard on the bottom of the bag for sturdiness. Great! Now the true test...how's the food? Very good! I had pork lo Mein with BIG pieces of delicious BBQ pork --- the very large lunch portion (leftovers will be great tomorrow)! Spring roll -- crispy and fresh and good, and wonton soup in the frig for tomorrow also. I am impressed. I even called the restaurant back just to compliment them. Give them a try. Although the food takes time to make, and didn't seem like receptionist knew her menu, the food comes out hot and not greasy. I ordered the shrimp in lobster sauce, wonton noodle soup, and it came with both the noodle chips and an egg roll. The chips just came off the fryer and were super tasty. I have been ordering from Silver Wok ever since I moved to Delray Beach. It is take out only. The owner and his wife do all the cooking and the food is always fresh and quite tasty. With regards to the patron that found the lady rude on the phone, she does not speak fluent English. I have spoken to her but our conversation is very limited, Her husband speaks very good English. Worst Chinese food we have ever had. We started eating and just threw it all away. Was Could not cut the chicken with a fork, hard as a rock and stringy like old dried beef. The other dish, Mongolian beef was swimming in soupy gravy, tasteless. The fried rice was not fried rice, just tossed rice with a little soy and some bean sprouts. Egg rolls burned, dried and impossible to cut with a knife. We picked up the food and the packaging matched the quality of the food. Who puts Chinese food in styrofoam and a paper bag? I am going straight to the food ~ diabolical! This is my first venture with this take out, and most definitely the last. I ordered beef with mix veg, which I got, but! The beef was chewier than an old shoe, with no taste, or flavor, the vegetables were the same. I am not sure what the brown slime was that it was cooked in, but it was slimy and tasteless. I also got a vegetable roll, so this was over cooked, and hard and absolutely tasteless! I got fried rice which was almost the whole dish, it filled a cereal bowl, but it was quite good. I wanted to take a moment to provide my take, after reading some of the feedback here. It's important to know that this restaurant is no-frills, but very affordable for what you get. There are some communications barriers, but as others have mentioned... it's very New York-style take out and I feel it comes with the territory. HOWEVER, if try to get to know the couple that own the place and you'll learn why this place is special... very underrated, even. Over the years, my husband and I have ordered twice or more a month and they treat us very kindly in person, remembering people who have come with us prior and even our regular orders. The male owner often recommend things to us off the menu - probably because we don't try to change the food to meet the "American palate" and we have never gone wrong with what we've gotten. He know's we appreciate trying new things, and in turn, I feel that the connection makes the experience and the food better. They also share with with us the names of other small restaurants that they have recently enjoyed, which adds to the sense of community. They don't advertise this, but they source all of their fresh vegetables from The Boys (another local business) and that speaks volumes compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area who use frozen. When I am in the mood for something heavy, their version of General Tso's is great (comes with a heaping "garnish" of fresh, steamed broccoli). I also love their Shanghai udon noodles, which again is a meal where the fresh veggies stand out. The steamed dumplings here are very doughy, but you can tell they are homemade -- the best part is the tangy dipping sauce. Often, I will just ask for chicken and veggies with brown sauce with white rice and they are happy to make it - simple, but delicious. Most importantly, you get very generous portions of REAL FOOD for the small price you pay. For reasons that are beyond my understanding, really good Chinese food in Delray Beach and surrounding areas is, to be kind, lacking in availability. Maybe it is because I am used to the quality of places in NY/NJ where the options are significant and the quality is generally much higher. One place that I formerly frequented (name withheld to be fair) seems to be going down in quality upon each order. So I looked for something new and found Silver Wok. It is a simple, small, take-out only place and my initial order was for wonton soup, boneless spare ribs and a dish they called Ho Yu Gai Pu. The broth for the soup was very flavorful and the wontons had the proper texture and flavor. The Ho Yu Gai Pu was loaded with fresh vegetables and a light brown sauce that was spot on. Finally, and although hard to say, the boneless ribs were the best I have every had. They were tender as could be, not coated in the typical overly sweet and sticky sauce you generally find and the highlight of my meal. Overall, I have found my new Chinese takeout spot. read more

By far the best Chinese food in the area, they have a variety of dishes which are all prepared by the shop owner and his wife, who are very lovely people. My favorites are the pork fried rice, Mongolian beef, kung pao chicken, and Chinese donuts for desert. read more

Take out restaurant on Atlantic and congress in the Walgreens, Dunkin donuts plaza. I always order chicken with garlic sauce extra extra spicy when I go to a new Chinese take out places. Usually it's never spicy enough but when I ordered it here, it was spicy!! The garlic sauce was really good and the chicken they used was thick cut unlike other places and really tender. There were lots of veggies in the dish which was nice. The hot and sour soup was also very good. They also have Martinelli's apple juice. The best apple juice ever made! I ordered a General Tso's combo, which had a TON of good stuff (pork fried rice, plenty of chicken, wonton soup, egg roll) and came out to ~$10 for dinner. I was craving a Chinese food fix last night, and having recently moved to Delray, I wasn't sure where to go. The reviews here were sporadic, but decent, so I gave it a try. And I'm glad I did! The sesame chicken was piping hot and flavorful. Each large piece of chicken was coated with a lip smacking sauce laden with the toasty flavor of sesame oil, but not greasy at all. There was also a generous accompaniment of broccoli, and the whole dish was sprinkled with sesame seeds. Yum! The fried rice was very good - not too salty, full of veggies, and also quite a lot of plump pieces of pork. The combo also came with an egg roll, packed with fresh, crunchy veggies - and soup. I got mine "mixed": egg drop and won ton. They did a good job with the soup - also not too salty - and piping hot! I also tried the Crab Rangoon. I find this dish is very hit or miss. Some places make the filling too sweet or they fry it in a way that the won ton wrapper becomes dense and soggy with oil. But, not here!! Theirs was light and crispy, with a filling that was exactly perfect - just that wonderful savory crabby-cream cheesy flavor that I love! This is a chinese takeout place that serves the best sesame chicken I have ever eaten. Everytime I make a trip down south florida, I need to make my way over. Not only their sesame chicken dish is good, their fried chicken wings as well. Its not your ordinary american style fried chicken, this is fried chicken wings with a chinese twist.
