We had an excellent lunch here. Besides the fact that the menu is so reasonably priced, the lunch specials were very, very good. They include a choice of soup, a choice of rice, your entree, and dessert. We had good friendly service in the small sit-down restaurant. As others have said, it's a bit hidden as it is tucked into a corner of the shopping center. But parking was easy in the lot right out front. They were also doing a lot of takeout orders while we were there. We were immediately brought hot tea and water along with the menus. I started with their wonton soup. A tasty broth -- not overly salted or strangely yellow as in some places. He had the hot and sour soup and liked it, as well. The large crispy noodles that they give you were addictive. I had their char siu pork. It is cubed roast pork along with vegetables -- snow pea pods, bok choy, baby corn, etc. in a brown sauce. I got white rice to go along with it. My husband had their Szechuan chicken. He said it had just the right amount of medium spice. He got brown rice (at no extra charge) to go along with his entree. For dessert, we had our choice of ice cream or sherbert. We both chose the coconut ice cream which was wonderful. I love coconut. The bill for both of us was under $20 -- a rarity these days! We will definitely be back as there are a number of other favorite comfort dishes I would like to try.

Love this very old fashioned remnant of the 60's. Reminds me of when my father used to take us out for Chinese once a month in 1968. Love the old fashioned individual covered servers. I never see those around anymore. Keeps food nice and hot. Be aware that although the food and service and prices are great, the place has not been maintained and is slightly dilapidated. It doesn't bother me, I would not take a date here but I come to eat all the time. Best egg rolls. Every combination meal served with hot tea, fried noodles and free ice cream. Unlimited homemade duck sauce and house mustard! You can't even get house mustard at most places anymore. Good lunch and dinner specials, very reasonable. Service with a smile every time!

I'll start out by saying I'm giving Beijing Palace 5 stars for what it is. It's a neighborhood Chinese spot that does a lot of takeout and has a classic small dining space. It's exactly how you would expect a sit down neighborhood Chinese restaurant to look. So now the food. There's a severe lack of decent Chinese food in this area. I'm always searching out new places and they almost always disappoint. This wasn't the case with Beijing Palace. I got the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special which includes hot tea, soup, rice, and dessert. I went with the Hot and Sour soup and it did not disappoint. I usually find this is a good barometer as to how the rest of the meal will go if they can get the soup right, and they nailed it. Lot of depth in flavor. Tangy. Mildly spicy. Excellent. I ordered my Kung Pao Chicken extra spicy because I love some heat in my Kung Pao. Chinese restaurants around here are notorious for under spicing their "spicy" dishes. Maybe because of the old people. But Beijing Palace nailed it. Even had a little forehead sweat towards the end of my meal. Really flavorful. Chicken was tender. And great portion size. Very happy with it. The fried rice was a little underwhelming but whatever. It's rice. I also got an egg roll and it was crispy, hot, and delicious. Exactly how I like my egg rolls. And now for the best part.....my bill came out to $11. You can't even go to McDonald's anymore for $11. So in conclusion, is this going to be the best Chinese food you've ever had? Probably not. But for the price and what else is out there in the area, I would have to say Beijing Palace is probably the best combination of flavor and cost that I've found around here. I will be coming back.

I kept it simple with a cup of wonton soup, but it needed more flavor. It was okay once I added salt, pepper and a drop of chili oil. We ordered the ribs, which would have been better if they weren't heavily coated in sauce, so next time I will ask them to use less. We had the pork Chow Mein and the Kung Pao Chicken. The pork Chow Mein was decent, and I'd order that again. The Kung Pao Chicken, was disappointing. The chicken itself seemed to be a lower quality as it was stringy and tough. My friend sent it back, and that's something he never does. He replaced it with Hunan Beef, and that dish could have used more spice, but it was still good. The food just didn't have much seasoning, but that's okay, because we know to order our dishes spicy next time. I will try them again since I love supporting local businesses, and the food, excluding the chicken wasn't bad. They are located on Military Trail in the plaza next to The Girls and Bambini Pizza.

The Beef Chow Fun was outstanding - perfectly wok-tossed, loaded with tender beef and those chewy noodles that just makes the difference. The Orange Beef? So tender you could cut it with chopsticks, and the sauce was spot-on sweet and tangy. Chicken Broccoli was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you want in a classic dish. Prices are ridiculously reasonable for the quality and portions you get. The restaurant was packed and honestly, it should be - this is the real deal. If you're craving authentic Chinese food that doesn't break the bank, stop everything and come here. The chef Steve is as authentic as they come. Kitty is the host and is so welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend!

Menus, plastic utensils, and sauce packets are in the waiting area which is nice. Servings were ample. And the prices were fair. The dinners come with both an egg roll and a small soup as well as choice of rice and meal. Mine was about $13 and I got 2 meals out of it. We also ordered a few apps. The egg rolls were meaty and crispy. Not my favorite but definitely acceptable. I also enjoyed the triangular fried crab Rangoon, which also was crispy and freshly made. I was not a fan of the accompanying sauce, but I think most people would like it. My son said there was no crab And I think he was right. He didn't want any and it's usually his favorite thing. Next we tried the fried pork dumplings. A Plus is the inside was tasty and they seemed made in-house. But the pan frying didn't work well for takeout. And the wrappers were a bit doughy. Oddly there was no dumpling sauce. The egg drop soup was a hit with my son. And the crispy wontons seemed fresh. The hot and sour soup had the right heat level but seemed to be missing something. The broth lacked depth, it was just hot. The kungpao chicken dinner came completely packed with my chosen white rice, lots of veggies, nuts and tender chicken. The thin sauce was not spicy at all and that was disappointing. But I didn't specifically request spicy. The veggies though were a nice blend including mini corn, water chestnuts, mushroom, carrot, celery, onion and pepper. No Szechuan pepper though. The serving portion was huge (served two). If we ever go back, I wouldn't order any of the items we got. It would be to taste the fried rice, lo mein, and probably something fried, like wings, because they seemed to do that well.

Our first visit, we ordered in person and waited about 15 minutes for our food. The second time, we called ahead and our order was ready when we arrived! Service was fast and easy. We tried the Szechuan chicken and shrimp combo order on our first visit, which came with an egg roll, wonton chips, and white rice. I added a side of sauce not realizing there would already be plenty with the main dish. On our second visit, we went with the regular Szechuan chicken, which also comes with white rice (brown rice is available for an upcharge) -- and it was easily enough for two to share. The food is flavorful without being too oily or overdressed, and the spice level is solid. I personally like a little more heat, so I topped mine off with red pepper flakes at home, but it is good as-is. Veggies were cooked well and everything was served hot and fresh. Their menu offers plenty of variety, including lunch specials and combo options for those looking to try a little of everything.
