Gary Woo's was very good when it was out east, but they lost just a little when they became Express and moved west. However, the food is still good and we take food out often. Absolutely delicious! Very fresh. I think it's one of the best Chinese in south Florida.

I ordered off of postmates and called the restaurant when my order was wrong. Instead of offering to remake my order, as due to allergies I couldn't eat what was delivered, they blamed it on postmates and said they had no control over it. They told me postmates told them the order and when I said I was the one paying them for the meal they said, "postmates paid them." Instead of trying to keep a paying customer happy by offering to use another $2 worth of vegetables and $1 of tofu to make my $18 meal, they lost a frequent customer. Best take out Chinese food I've had in S. Florida truly authentic New York style. Wonton soup had a roast pork in it and vegetables it was really tasty wasn't that bland crap you usually get. In spite of of the many whiners here, Garry Munoz make some very good condition. Not all are wonderful, and are as described below, but things like their shrimp balls, and certain of their specialties are perfectly prepared. Their prices are excessive, but in the vast wasteland of Chinese restaurants which are few and far between in this part of Boca Raton, they have a relatively captive audience. They offer some interesting specials, but their sushi is very very run-of-the-mill. I tend overall to like the restaurant over on jog Road near Atlantic a bit better, but the shrimp balls and their child fundamentals are hard-to-find and well-made enough that it's worth going back here for them once in a while. read more

I went to Gary Woo a few times when they had their restaurant out east. My wife and I wanted Asian food for dinner and decided to try Gary Woo Express. We couldn't have been happier! Great classic Chinese food like I remember having as a kid. Excellent ribs, pork fried rice, and black bean chicken just to start. My wife absolutely loved her chicken lo mein. Have taken out from Gary Woo a number of times and the food is just OK. The highlight of the menu is the noodle dishes (Lo mein and chow fun), and their wonton soup is always piping hot and tasty. I'm not a fan of their chicken dishes, but my wife likes their vegetarian offerings. read more

Sushi is absolutely INCREDIBLE, I've been to multiple spots and by far Gary Woo has the best tasting and freshest seafood around!

The food was mediocre. We ordered three dishes with chicken, beef and shrimp. All three dishes were over loaded with vegetables and very little meat. We had to ask ourselves, "Where's the beef?". For the price, the portions were on the small side and the vegetables over powered the shrimp, chicken and beef. Mediocre Chinese and way overpriced for the quality and take out style of this 1000 square foot facility. If you want quality pay the price and order from Uncle Tai's which is a thousand times better in quality and taste. I really wanted this place to be good as we just moved here and I was hoping it would prove to be a go-to for takeout. It was not good at all. It makes Panda Express look 5 star. The only positives were that they offered brown rice and for those who can't make up their minds on whether to go with egg drop or wonton soup, they offer a combo choice. I had chicken and eggplant, which was supposed to be spicy. Not only was it COMPLETELY devoid of any spice/heat but it also lacked any real flavor. Utterly bland. Now my top choice in South Florida. Soup very good and far better than the standard salty yellow stuff you see in most places. Fried rice the best I have had in many years. Great eggroll as well. Great sushi! We get it delivered often & it is always fresh & delicious. We like the Crunchy Shrimp roll & Fall in Love roll. Our out of town guests enjoy it also. I also really like the sushi rolls that are wrapped with the thinnest of cucumber slice (on the outside). The wonton & combo (egg drop/wonton) soups r good but nothing to rave about. This is the best Chinese takeout I have ever tried, PERIOD!! Their food quality rivals Uncle Tai's, which is the best Chinese restaurant between here and Miami (and probably in Miami too). Their sushi is also very, very good. I regularly eat their unagi-don and have had many of their hand rolls. Both are great. We have never gotten Chinese take out from another place after these people opened. I think their exceptional food quality put Red Lantern out of business. read more

I have been ordering from Gary Woos for several years because they have excellent shumai, homemade. This evening I ordered a large shrimp with lobster sauce and the shumai. When I got home and started to plate the food I discovered there were only 4 shrimp. I called and spoke with the owner who said never in 10 years has an order of shrimp with lobster sauce been shorted by his 'professional chefs'. He basically accused me of lying. When I threatened to write a Yelp review and then told the owner he lost me as a client the tone changed. I hung up and he called back to say that he would deliver me another order. Great food and very accommodating. I got the boat for 3 for a party and they were able to personalize it to be exactly what i wanted. It was for a party. All the magic of South Beach conveniently located in W Boca. I have mixed feelings about the food. The first time my son and I enjoyed. 2nd order with the whole family was not a success. Also, not many Chinese take out restaurants include sushi in their menu and I must tell you, it is so DELICIOUS! It is amazing. I don't know many other take out restaurants that offer sushi to go and when i am craving sushi, the first place i think of is GARY WOO EXPRESS! One of their most popular dishes are the general tso chicken, sesame chicken, honey garlic chicken, fried rice, spare ribs, crunchy tuna roll and many MANY more, you just need to know what is good to order! The ingredients and sauces are on point! Some people don't even know what the heck they're talking about, must've been having a bad day i guess. The chefs put love in their art and the owner/manager work very hard to build this business and they succeeded. I understand that there are some cases where customers gave this restaurant a bad review BUT incidences like that happens so rarely! Look. In the restaurant industry. Mistakes happens all the time. This is a terrible business and if I could give zero stars I would. A few months ago I ordered a meal for pickup. When I arrived I was told the order was sent out for delivery. I was told to go home and get the order from the driver. I told the person behind the counter I was not going home but taking the dinner to another location. I asked for the order to be remade but was refused. At that point I asked and received a refund. I tried to order tonight and apparently my phone number was flagged. I was told that because of what happened last time they refused to do business with me. While discussing this the person I spoke with admitted it was their mistake. So my boyfriend and I just needed to add a few things to our already home cooked main dish that I was making, which happened to be shrimp lo mein. I really had a craving for a spring roll and some other appetizers so we called a friend that lives near us to find out where he goes for Chinese takeout and he mentioned Gary Woo as well as Shanghai Chinese, which we're smack dab in the middle of off of 441 in Delray. While I trust my boyfriend's friend suggestions, I wanted to see what Yelpers had to say! Looked up of each restaurant individually and read all the reviews: didn't really get too great of a feeling from Shanghai, also couldn't pull their menu from Yelp for some reason, ended up getting it off of the internet. Their Menu seems pretty good and reasonable prices, however Gary Woos Express had the better reviews and their menu is also good prices but were just a little bit higher. Decided on an egg roll, a spring roll, chicken lettuce wraps and pork fried rice - figuring those were some basic items and for a to-go order, would really tell us whether this restaurant would ever have a chance at a second visit for us in the future. The girl who answered was very pleasant, didn't need any repetition from me, she was very clear she repeated back what I ordered and told me about 15 minutes and my boyfriend headed out the door. He got there and everything was all put together - I told him to check everything and he said everything looks good he brought it home and everything was packaged nicely portions were great and more importantly taste was fresh not greasy. We were very impressed with the pork fried rice and having had chicken lettuce wraps before, I also really liked the flavor and thought it was very fresh. Boyfriend loved his eggroll, which looked really good stuffed full of nice little shrimp and vegetables, not just a bunch of cabbage. My spring roll was delicious. I had forgotten I had wanted to order soup but will definitely order next time. I still do want to try Shanghai for my own edification and of course I will report that here on Yelp at a later date.
