Olivia's sampler-we shared it! Plenty of food for 2 people

Garcia's on Thomas was amazing! We got there right at 11 when they opened, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Everyone was super welcoming and helpful. The place itself has such a fun, festive vibe -- we loved sitting by the window and just soaking it all in. Chips and salsa come complimentary (score!) along with warm bean dip. The salsa was so fresh and flavorful. Pro tip: mix the salsa and bean dip together -- total game changer! We tried the peach house margarita and the watermelon orange margarita. Both had great flavor, but they're definitely on the lighter side alcohol-wise. For food, we split Olivia's Sampler, and wow... that pollo fundido stole the show! Creamy, cheesy, tender chicken wrapped in a chimichanga -- seriously out of this world. Overall, awesome service, great atmosphere, and delicious food. We'll definitely be back!

Aloha Hawaiians, Hi, just wanted to let you know about this wonderful restaurant. If you go here eat at the bar side it is fabulous. The tall tables are wonderful and the booths are even better Go for the bottomless chips & salsa and beans, but stay for the wonderful flavorful food. If you know me, you, you know that if the food is so good, I don't have time to take a picture I'm stuffing it in my mouth so previously when I visited, I had some other dishes and here's some photos. Since I already know that the food is bomb.com. I needed to eat my chimichangas before the shell got soggy If you have hypertension stay away from the rice. lol other than that banzai!! I had the fajita chimichanga which was wonderful and it was so nice. I ordered it twice if you wanna go out for dinner and drinks hit me up because I love the bar area. The restaurant is very family friendly but I like to stay away from the kids, so meet me in the bar, happy holidays

We were expecting a chain experience and have been to other Garcia's, but this location leveled up! Jesús was our server and was professional and attentive. He knew the menu very well and was able to accommodate our vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters. We got there in time for happy hour and got a cheese crisp with guacamole and some house margaritas. They also had frozen and fruity margs. The fajitas were loaded with fresh veggies and sides, nicely cooked and not overloaded with tomatoes and onions like they often are. Conveniently located with plenty of parking. A+

We just stumbled on this gem of a Mexican restaurant after a long day of traveling. What a great place! The enchiladas were hands down the best I've had in a long time. Their chips and salsa are very authentic and fresh. Gabriel was our server and he was excellent! We will definitely stop by again when we're back in town:

Great food and great service. Going to a Mexican can be hit or miss if you're looking for an authentic experience but, this place was truly a hit and exceeded my expectations. The service was a 10 from the moment we walked in the door and throughout our dining experience. No one in my party had to ask for a refill because the server was bringing out another as soon as our drinks were getting low, the service was fast and the food was delicious. I ordered the street tacos which were great and so was the free salsa and dip. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town crazing Mexican.

Tamales I ordered for Christmas! They are excellent!

I've ordered Christmas tamales and takeout from Garcia's and recently tried dine in, which was also a great experience. Eduardo was our server and he was very attentive and helpful. We got chips, salsas and waters right away. I love that bean dip comes with the chips and salsa! A nice touch. I had the spinach enchiladas lunch special which was fantastic! I loved the spinach, the green sauce and I loved that I could get it with black beans instead of refried beans. I had a house margarita on the rocks which was also great! Garcia's has a nice atmosphere with traditional Mexican American vibes. I'm glad I stopped by for lunch!

Came here Friday night. Place was packed. We are regulars and we were lucky enough to sit in Angel's section. She runs the bar and the bar dining area. Long story short.... She had so much going on training new bartender that it was so hard for her to do the tables as well. She was amazing and running like crazy. I wish that she could have just done one or the other. Manager was wonderful to comp our one dinner. So generous and not necessary as we will return. But maybe next time don't do training in a Friday night?

Anyone from Phoenix knows Garcia's is one of our OG local Mexican food chains, something serving up Tex-Mex cuisine since before Americans even learned burritos were cool. If I want a safe and traditional southwest option for lunch, this has been a go-to that can make everyone happy. What I love: They still give you chips and salsa, even when you're picking your order or have it delivered. Try not to eat them all, you will be full. I also loved their pollo fundido, which is a delicious chimi with a bit of cheese on top. What I liked: The lunch combination menu. Can't go wrong with a cheese enchilada and some charro beans! What I wanted to like: The sopapillas, I have a soft spot for sopapillas, and they deliver. But do you have to put honey, cinnamon sugar, AND sweetened cream cheese on it? It was overkill, but fundamentally a decent pastry. Overall I'd pick this place before some of the valley's more historical family-owned Tex-Mex spots (like that one with the bird on it), and I definitely look forward to the day I feel comfortable dining indoors again. Because who doesn't miss going to old-school local businesses like this?

I came here with my friends for dinner on a Friday night and we had a wonderful experience. The service was great and the food was delicious! Decent prices and good sized portions. They even bring you out bean dip with the salsa and chips. I would definitely come back again!

We ordered an appetizer and then entrees from the lunch menu. The aguachile appetizer is SO good. It's bright, fresh, and has a lot of flavor in the green sauce. It reminds me of a ceviche type dish due to its raw butterflied shrimp that is marinated in the house made chile serrano & cilantro citrus sauce. It was awesome. We were also given free chips & house made bean dip. I ordered the mixed two item plate with a chile rellano and taco corazon (grilled taco dipped in a red chile sauce, stuffed with shredded beef & melted cheese. Topped with grilled onions). The black beans and rice is also tasty. I tried a bite of the other dishes, and I also really liked the brightly colored spinach & cheese enchiladas with pink sauce ( signature beet sauce). I look forward to trying other items from the menu, I was eyeing the steak Mexicano or red snapper. Those dishes sound good for dinner.

Out of all the restaurants I had before leaving Arizona, THIS ended up being one of the places I couldn't stop thinking about after I moved away. Ever since leaving, I've randomly craved these tacos constantly. I've tried other taco spots in Denver hoping something would compare, but honestly nothing really hit the same. So when I came back out to Phoenix recently to visit some friends, this was one of the first places I knew I needed to come back to because I had built it up so much in my head over time. And somehow... it was just as good again. The meat tastes incredibly fresh, flavorful, and well-seasoned, and you can literally watch them prepare everything right in front of you, which makes the whole experience even better. There's something so satisfying about seeing the tacos being made fresh instead of food just appearing from the kitchen. You can tell they care about quality and consistency. The servers were also super friendly and welcoming both times I came here, which honestly makes such a difference. Everyone had great energy, the service was quick, and the whole place just feels inviting and authentic. I honestly think the fact that I remembered this place so vividly for so long says everything. Usually when you revisit a restaurant after hyping it up in your head for years, it ends up disappointing you. But this place tasted exactly how I remembered it, fresh, flavorful, comforting, and absolutely worth the obsession. Safe to say this place is officially a mandatory stop for me anytime I'm back in Phoenix now.

Also bring a group. The portions are huge and the food is clearly meant to be shared. Trust me on this one, bring friends. I've tried a bunch of dishes here, and there are a few I always go back to. For the table, Camarones Locos is an easy choice. The flame grilled shrimp comes out hot and full of flavor, perfect for passing around. La Patrona ceviche tower is massive and worth the order. When it hits the table, you immediately feel good about the decision. El Pulpazo is technically an entrée, but we always order it as a shareable. The octopus is grilled perfectly and it comes with rice and beans, so everyone gets a little of everything. For entrées, my number one pick is the Lobster and Crab Enchiladas with green sauce. I think about this dish at least once a week. The enchiladas are packed with lobster and crab, and the green sauce ties the whole thing together. Honestly, I could talk about this place all day. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.
