We just love the Tee Pee. You see all kinds of people here and for the great quality of food my wife and I have never had a bill over $42 bucks with drinks! Other than In-N-Out it may be the the best cheap eats place. If you haven't been or haven't been in a while please get there soon!

This was as old school of a restaurant as you can think or imagine. And I mean that in the best way possible. When you walk into a place like this, you just know the food has to be good. It's sort of a hole in the wall, in a good way! We ordered drinks and tons of food, and it was super cheap and plentiful and good. The Tee Pee special is hands down the best value on the menu. You get a taco, a tostada and cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Soooooo much. I got the Coronarita. I was stunned I didn't get a frozen margarita, guess I have to specify. Still good nonetheless. Cheap! I guess the atmosphere could be better - it's pretty dark in there, not a lot of light. Closes at like 9:30pm. There is a later happy hour at the bar only.

We had dinner at Tee Pee last week and it was amazing!!! The restaurant had fun paper flowers and twinkly lights and a fun vibe! Our server was friendly, efficient, and informative. The chips and salsa that came as we sat down were delicious and we quickly got refills. The food was hot and wonderful! I had the carne asada salad and my friend had the taco and enchiladas. I would highly recommend Tee Pee Mexican food for dinner and a fun time!

I can't believe the experience I just had at this place. I ate here a few years ago and it was wonderful. I'm not sure if it's under new ownership now but it's terrible. Out of 6 people, they messed up 3 orders. That's a 50% rating of accuracy. My friend bites into something hard from her chili relleno and when she spit it out, it was the plastic piece from the top of a bread bag or a tortilla pack. The "manager" said he's sorry and it won't happen again. He said he cannot comp anyone's meals, he didn't give us any sort of discount. I will never eat here again and nobody should ever. It is not safe to eat here! God knows if they have rats and bugs also since they allow plastic pieces in your food. Ridiculous!!!!

Surprisingly Tee Pee didn't have a long wait line this time and we got seated soon after we arrived. I've been coming to this restaurant every time I am in Phoenix, but it's been several years since my last visit. I ordered a combination plate of crispy shredded beef taco and green corn tamale. I also ordered a small cheese crisp from the children's menu. The refried beans were creamy and not overly salted, as is common with refried beans. The tamale and taco were delicious as was the cheese crisp. The food hit the spot on all counts. Unfortunately, tonight Tee Pee was understaffed and the wait to place our order exceeded 20 minutes. We were at the point of leaving when finally a waitress came by with tortilla chips and salsa. The waiter followed to take our order. He was rushed and brusque, which didn't help things. I noticed the telltale expressions of impatience on the faces of customers across the way as well. They too had been waiting overly long. I don't remember this delay on any of my past visits and hope that tonight was an exception.

We ordered green chili burro which was a lunch special and the machaca chimichanga- all so good.

Great mexican food - spicy but delicious seasoning. Service is friendly and good. Overall, The best!

Late night dinner at TeePee tonight. Thankfully I was sat immediately. Within 30 seconds I had a menu, red plastic cup of ice water, chips, salsa and hot sauce set in front of me. If it's possible to avoid the dinner rush, absolutely do so, because the food and the service here is excellent, but they get BUSY! Pricing is fair for what it is. This is classic American style Mexican food restaurant, with big portions, combo plates, and a wide variety of dishes and offerings. Expect to take leftovers home.

    Make our own combination plate.

So my mom and I came here the other day. Our first time, the food was good they have great serving sizes. They give chips and salsa once you seat down. The service no complaints the guy was on top of it. The only thing we didn't care for is how close the seats were. Feels as if they put as many booths together in a room and enough space to walk around in. Not happy about that. If we go back and eat there we will try the patio outside next time.

Tee Pee Mexican restaurant was a decent option for lunch. We were able to get in quickly without a need for a reservation. Food was decent "home cooked" Mexican food in a rustic atmosphere for a restaurant that's been around for a long time. My cheese enchilada was good and the crunchy beef taco was just ok. Nothing fancy but decent food.

Great service. Food tasted so good. This restaurant was recommended by my doctor; they catered her wedding so I figured it must be good. I had a lunch combo with machaca enchilada and red beef tamale. The bathroom was a bit uncomfortable to enter due to the tight and dark space. Once inside the toilet /sink room... it was better. I'll be back to try other menu offerings. Enjoy!

We make the drive to Arcadia from Mesa just for TeePee. If you want retro, this is your place. Vinyl booths, Formica tables, DeGrazia style art -- it's like you're stepping back in time--and I LOVE it! The servers are fantastic, and when they heard me make a joke about forgetting my glasses, she asked if I needed some readers. She brought me a couple of pairs to choose from! Yay! The food is traditional and delicious, and the portions are huge. There is a presidential platter, which is the dish that George Bush chose when he ate at TeePee. NOTE: There aren't any tables and chair sets, if I remember correctly. All booths. The booths in the dining room seat four, two on each side. The seat larger parties in two booths that are divided but right next to each other. It shouldn't be a big deal.

The restaurant is inside of an old brick home with wood interior and warm colors. The service was good-- friendly and food came out at a good pace, we were checked on regularly. We ordered an appetizer and then entrees from the lunch menu. The aguachile appetizer is SO good. It's bright, fresh, and has a lot of flavor in the green sauce. It reminds me of a ceviche type dish due to its raw butterflied shrimp that is marinated in the house made chile serrano & cilantro citrus sauce. It was awesome. We were also given free chips & house made bean dip. I ordered the mixed two item plate with a chile rellano and taco corazon (grilled taco dipped in a red chile sauce, stuffed with shredded beef & melted cheese. Topped with grilled onions). The black beans and rice is also tasty. I tried a bite of the other dishes, and I also really liked the brightly colored spinach & cheese enchiladas with pink sauce ( signature beet sauce). I look forward to trying other items from the menu, I was eyeing the steak Mexicano or red snapper. Those dishes sound good for dinner.

The restaurant has a small bar of three seats to enjoy some drinks.. initially we were just going to have margaritas for six dollars during happy hour but decided to have guacamole as well for $10 on happy hour. Guacamole was excellent and came with a bean dip. To complement, our guacamole and chips we checked out the salsa bar. The salsa bar has over six choices of salsa. One of my favorite salsas was hibiscus. We enjoyed our quick happy hour so much that we hope to come back for dinner as I see Mole is on the menu. The staff was super friendly and attentive. I hear that they have open a second venue not too far from the original place. They have an event venue. Their original place is in a former church. The architecture inside is very interesting due to the roof structure.

Out of all the restaurants I had before leaving Arizona, THIS ended up being one of the places I couldn't stop thinking about after I moved away. Ever since leaving, I've randomly craved these tacos constantly. I've tried other taco spots in Denver hoping something would compare, but honestly nothing really hit the same. So when I came back out to Phoenix recently to visit some friends, this was one of the first places I knew I needed to come back to because I had built it up so much in my head over time. And somehow... it was just as good again. The meat tastes incredibly fresh, flavorful, and well-seasoned, and you can literally watch them prepare everything right in front of you, which makes the whole experience even better. There's something so satisfying about seeing the tacos being made fresh instead of food just appearing from the kitchen. You can tell they care about quality and consistency. The servers were also super friendly and welcoming both times I came here, which honestly makes such a difference. Everyone had great energy, the service was quick, and the whole place just feels inviting and authentic. I honestly think the fact that I remembered this place so vividly for so long says everything. Usually when you revisit a restaurant after hyping it up in your head for years, it ends up disappointing you. But this place tasted exactly how I remembered it, fresh, flavorful, comforting, and absolutely worth the obsession. Safe to say this place is officially a mandatory stop for me anytime I'm back in Phoenix now.

Also bring a group. The portions are huge and the food is clearly meant to be shared. Trust me on this one, bring friends. I've tried a bunch of dishes here, and there are a few I always go back to. For the table, Camarones Locos is an easy choice. The flame grilled shrimp comes out hot and full of flavor, perfect for passing around. La Patrona ceviche tower is massive and worth the order. When it hits the table, you immediately feel good about the decision. El Pulpazo is technically an entrée, but we always order it as a shareable. The octopus is grilled perfectly and it comes with rice and beans, so everyone gets a little of everything. For entrées, my number one pick is the Lobster and Crab Enchiladas with green sauce. I think about this dish at least once a week. The enchiladas are packed with lobster and crab, and the green sauce ties the whole thing together. Honestly, I could talk about this place all day. If you like Mexican food and seafood, you need to try it. Great food, big portions, and a menu that makes it hard to stop ordering.

This review is for the totality of the experience…read more I made an advance reservation at Alma Scottsdale for a mid-sized group of 7 to celebrate a special occasion. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.
