Be prepared to wait! They just officially opened this week and this place was packed! Had to wait about 10-15 mins for a table. There is no waiting area seats, which I think they need. Staff was very friendly. The food was delicious and would definitely come back to try more dishes. Just be pared to wait or some for lunch time for less wait! Great Thai option for the east side of Bend.

Drunken noodles and (half eaten) massaman curry!

Yum! Want to make coming here a regular place. I loved the food, the service was quick and they were very friendly, lots of natural light through the windows and fun modern vibes.

We came in with a large group for our company dinner, and they handled everything so smoothly -- which is never easy with a big party! The food was absolutely delicious, and everyone in our group loved their meal. I've always had such a great experience here, which is exactly why I chose it for our dinner, and it did not disappoint. Warm, welcoming, and consistently great -- highly recommend!

It was top notch for food and pretty darned good for service during for very late lunch, aka linner meal for us, when we made our first visit in earlier this year and it was so good that when we were back in Bend a couple of months later, it was the restaurant we thought about first to return to for a meal. We lived in Bend for almost 20 years and after moved away 11 years ago we still visited often because until last year both my parents continued to live there. I share that for context to say that we've eaten at every Thai restaurant in Bend since 1998 (when there was only one) and many multiple times at some of them and if you are visiting and have time for only one Thai meal, this would be our choice of where to have it. (Yes, I include Sen Dai and Wild Rose - those owned by one owner, and Noi Thai in the mix.) The husband and wife owners here apparently have Thai heritage and Thai restaurant experience from their time living in Portland and it shows in all the pride of ownership details, including table decor. (See photo.) PRICE POINT: I think the same menu is used during all open hours. Our lunch for two menu items totaled $50 but there were leftovers to go back to the house with us. HOURS: 7 days a week. They open at 11a close at 2:30 until 4:30 on Mon - Fri. On Sat & Sun they open at noon and close from 3:00 until 4:30. Doors close at 8:00p. PARKING: Private lot. ACCESSIBILITY: My only restraints on this are that the spacing of tables is tight and so it can be a little difficult to navigate, in particular for a person like me as I am a diner with mobility limits. But there are ADA compliant parking spaces in the lot and the restaurant is level in from the walkway. As a note to others who are also disabled diners, I'll share that the hostess did the thing that often happens in an eatery, she tried to seat me at arguable the worse table in the house right inside the door but to her credit when I said something in the main area would be more comfortable, she moved my husband and me there. TIP: To avoid crowds (this is popular for a reason), go in for late lunch. If you're planning on dinner, make a reservation.

I started with the chicken potstickers, which I enjoyed, though I thought they were cooked a little bit much as they were quite hard but very tasty. The sauce that they provided with them didn't seem to fit exactly, but it wasn't a deterrent. I went with the meatball for, and it came out like you would expect. I would say that I was slightly disappointed with the amount of meatballs in the broth, which seemed to be two or three less than I would've expected, and they didn't provide much in the way of the bean sprouts or other accoutrement to add to it. That said, those weren't bummers, just something of note. Lastly, the mango smoothie was tasty and served as a nice dessert zipper into the evening.

There was no particular order I wanted to try them in, it's just how the cards fell. Pho Viet & Cafe has a large selection of items ranging from traditional pho, cold noodle dishes, and Hue-style Bun Bo Hue. They even have banh mi sandwiches which seemed on the very pricey side for my liking. What stood out were non-traditional pho dishes like duck and shrimp. I made a mental note to try those in the future. My daughter and I ordered two bowls of the standard pho dishes. Now, this is where things get confusing. I actually wasn't that crazy about my bowl. It came with tons of meats which I appreciate. They definitely give you your money's worth but the broth lacked flavor. My daughter liked her bowl so I didn't say anything. We took leftovers home and I reheated her portion later. I saved a little broth for myself to sip and it was fantastic. It was an excellent sip of broth and everything I expected from quality pho. That's the confusing part of this story because both our dishes came from the same pot of broth. At least, they should have. In any case, we got two different experiences. That simple decision on my part to save the extra broth for myself earned Pho Viet & Cafe an extra star. It was good and I definitely will be coming back.
