This is my second time here. The receptionist Amanda is super kind and very helpful, first time I met her she was so bubbly and full of personality. When I called for an apt. She remembered who I was and then help me with booking. Definitely appreciate the friendliness and warm welcome even though I have only been once before. Went in for an 11 a.m. appointment today with my sister. Her regular pedi was OK, but the gel mani was HORRIBLE. First, they didn't have the color she selected from the polish reel. The worst part was the older woman who did her nails was messy with the polish and would use CUTICLE NIPPERS to remove excess polish. My sister's cuticles bled and burn when she washes her hands. Went here today on a whim with my friend. I would never recommend coming here, ever. My friend got there before me and was seated for a pedicure. When I got there they told me to have a seat next to my friend... but when I told them I didn't need a pedicure only a manicure, apparently that was NOT okay because this lady was pissed. She then told me to sit at her chair (which is #6 btw) and put the tinfoil on my nails to remove my previous gels. She then gets up to begin a new customers pedicure. I then sat for 25 minutes waiting. Finally a new nail tech came me to and told me to move to her chair so she could finish my manicure. Finalllyyy, my friends pedicure ended and she asked her nail tech if she could sit in the chair next to me so we could talk, "no" she said, which was ... okay... no big deal. My friends mani somehow ended up being quicker than mine and since she was done she came to sit in the seat next to me (#6) to just talk to me while my mani finished. But no, this was NOT OKAY apparently, because nail tech #6 came and told my friend to get up because she was not even allowed to sit there and chat with me even though no one was sitting or working at this chair. Hah. I was literally laughing from shock at the horrific customer service. This may be the rudest nail salon I've ever been to in my life. So congratulations for that at least! read more

I went back to get them fixed (this is where they got two stars). The gentleman did not hesitate to fix them. However, 5 nails broke again within another 2 days. I will not be going back here again. The workers here are very friendly, professional, and skilled. The worker did a wonderful job on my nails. The prices are also quite reasonable. I paid 18$ for an acrylic fill. The one criticism I have is quite huge. I did not see ANY employee sanitize their tools. I saw employees reusing old tools on new customers. The woman who did my nails, pulled a cuticle cutter from her drawer which still had visible dead skin on it. This is quite alarming because this is how fungus and disease spreads. When I called in the morning for a 4:30pm on a Friday they were able to put me with someone named Helen for a mani (gel) and pedicure. The front desk lady was very warm and kind. Helen, the nail tech, was really sweet. I've gotta say she did an amazing job on my mani & pedi. The price is $45 which was less than I used to pay at another salon so I was happy about that. Terrible gel manicure! I got a gel manicure done on Thursday afternoon and by Sunday morning it was chipped and peeling off. I was very upset but on vacation so had to deal with it. When i got back I called them and told them what happened. The guy on the phone said my nail is the problem- not true. I told him I've had MANY gel manicures and almost all lasted 2 weeks. I came here because I saw that it was rated number one in my area on yelp and it's not far from my job. Honestly, my experience wasn't first rate. I've had a much better experience at the other place I've been to a couple of times. It's not that they did a terrible job or anything. It was just not great. I got a gel manicure in Opi "we the female". I feel like they could have done another coat because it came out looking not as dark as I expected. Maybe I'm just too picky but from some angles I feel like it even looks slightly transparent. I had one glittery accent nail and I kept having to ask her to put more on bc I wanted a solid glittery nail and it was coming out more like a sparse layer of sparkles. Also, there seem to be a few slight dents and bumps in the nail and I know it wasn't because I bumped my fingers before they were cured. I'm super careful about that. I think she just didn't buff my nails smoothly enough. They are Asian, probably Vietnamese. I always have trouble understanding their accent. I prefer a place a little north of here called Spatacular nails. I was surprised they didn't have a great review because I'd gotten two very satisfactory manicures from there. Plus they are Cuban and although my Spanish is kind of rough, I can more easily communicate and understand what they're saying. That's my personal preference. Everything else about the experience was fine. Everything seemed clean and well kept. The tools seemed very sanitary. The people were nice and polite. Also, you have to tip in cash which is a little inconvenient. Thank goodness I happened to have some cash on me but I usually don't. Other places I've been to you can add the tip on your card. So in conclusion, I would say, based on my personal experience, Galaxy Nails is just ok if not subpar compared to other places. They are $5 cheaper than the other place I prefer ($25 for a gel manicure whereas Spatacular is $30). But I'd rather pay the extra $5 for a better manicure. I wouldn't rate Galaxy 4 stars. More like 2 1/2 or 3. Go to Spatacular Nails if you want a 4-5 star rating mani. read more

I am so confused as to why this place has gotten great reviews. As I was choosing a polish color I noticed ants crawling on the wall and all over the floor. Gross. When I got to my chair for the pedicure you could tell they haven't been cleaned in a while. It looked like the leather had grease smudges all over. I didn't place my purse on the floor because it had dirt, hair, and other people's nail clippings on it. This place was disgusting. A lady who appeared to be on drugs or withdrawing from drugs came in and asked the owner if it would be ok to ask the customers in the salon for money, to which he replied yes. Ummmmm, thanks. Then I had to listen to this meth head's story about not being able to feed her children and how her card declined at Aldi. This place is very close to my house so we've been here a few times. I don't know why it's so hard for a nail salon to be friendly. I don't know if these people are indentured servants or why they're so miserable. I am surprised this place has as high of a rating as it does. Got a pedicure here. I was a bit hesitant because of the negative reviews about cleanliness and sterilization, but I'm pleased with the service and the outcome. My nails look great. As stated before they have a wide selection of colors. They do sterilize their tools and use professional chairs for pedicures, but they don't use a plastic cover in the basins (the only negative). The nail tech that worked on my toes was so gentle and attentive to my cuticles. Also, I did't consider anyone to be rude or dismissive with me. In fact, I was one of the last customers to come in and they helped me within 10-12 minutes from arrival as a walk-in. I'll be coming back for my dip manicure! read more

After Saturday's fiasco with another nail salon, I was happy that I found this nail salon! What an awesome experience! Mind you, they closed at 6PM yesterday (Sunday) BUT more and more walk-ins kept arriving and I heard the manager mention that they might stay open till 9pm to accommodate all the customers. That's what I call GREAT customer service! The manager kept looking over his shoulder to see who was waiting and which of his staff was available to try and not have the people waiting too long. Although some people just have no patience and expect to be taken care of immediately regardless if they have an appointment or not, I did not mind. I got there to do my middle daughters nail for her upcoming ring ceremony event and I overheard a lady talking about how good a lady there did eyebrows. So I asked her about it and she told me that she was great and shaped her eyebrows super nice. Since I also needed to do my eyebrows I decided to give her a try and was blown away. She's very talented. Wow! First time I actually LOVE the shape of my eyebrows. I have always had a love/hate relationship with my eyebrows but I'm in love with them right now. My middle daughter's nails came out FABULOUS. Coffin shaped and very nicely filled and filed. I also decided to let my youngest daughter get a gel manicure.
