I like the cleanliness of the place and also the size of the service area. I want to feel relaxed and enjoy my experience when I go to these places. So it's important to me to feel peaceful. Roxanne is a keeper and the wait time is tolerable. The music is light and calming. Please don't ever change that. My only suggestion is they ask their people to be aware of the "spa" experience. There were two technicians that would not shut up and they were talking to each other (more like screaming) from one side of the spa to the other. Marietta does quality nails, I personally have been doing my nails with her for years. Her technique, attention to detail and perfectionism is just what I'm looking for. She always has the best and latest polish selections. I happen to be one of the girls that has a lot of cuticle that requires clean up and she does just that. Never cutting corners. Since switching from gel to dip over two year ago, my nails are long, hard and beautiful. The polish stays intact and shinny for three weeks. So much so that I need my nails cut or filled down each time. The spa treatment is a must. Leaves your feet feeling so much lighter and silky soft. I do not want to hear the conversations they need to have about their exes, parols, fights with salon manager, prices, how tired they are , etc. The quality of the nail techs will determine the quality of the place. If they are near closing time and the employees are tired and don't want to work then it's better to deny the customer (to save them form a bad experience) than tell me YES COME IN to get an customer in the door but give me a terrible experience with nail techs that only want to do a half assed job. As a customer I should pay half price. I paid full price and didn't complain about it. But I believe this place needs to see the type of the people they are hiring and the quality being provided to customers. I moved to this area couple weeks ago, looking for a good nail tech. This experience was very bad. The person who did my nails call KIM. She definitely need to improve her skills. She made overthick ugly uneven nails. One nail round, two square, two rhombus. She filed sides to the meat, so it hurts like hell. Very very very unprofessional job. BUT! When she asked me if I like it and I said no, she started screaming at me! I didn't raise my voice even a little bit. I asked the receptionist if that's ok to scream on the customers? Lady KiM was screaming that's her nails are perfect and she does it for a long time, and I don't know how dip has to look(well...I do dip for 2 years). The worst nail shop I have ever been to. I've been here at least 6-7 times. Out of the 6-7 times, I had 5 different nail techs. The first time my nail tech was great until she told me she was moving to Orlando. The next nail tech who still works there is horrible. She doesn't know what she's doing. Idk how she still has a job there. She does nails as if she was in training. The next nail tech didn't speak any English and talks so much that it distracts her from doing her job. The 4th nail tech got fired. Lol They said they let her go. There were 2 times that they booked me on the wrong date and messed up my appointments. The front desk girls don't know what they're doing. Located in a strip mall in the innerworking of Kendall, there is ample parking, however can be rahter full on weekend! I have been to this location 3 times. My first time was a LONG time ago, and i got acrylics, i can't say it was the BEST job i had done.. However, the last 2 times, were for dip powder nails. For me, my nails are rather weak and don't hold off as long as i want them too. After much research, dip seemed the way to go. The actual location is large, there are plenty of tables, and chairs that the flow is rather quick. Color selection is also rather large, so you are sure to find something you will like :) I have been doing my dip nails with Iva, who i will say hands down does an amazing job! In addition to having a great personality (i am always talking and laughing) she knows how to properly shape my nail. I have been to NUMEROUS places and when i ask for square i get shorter than short nails that are rounded at the edges??? or if i ask for coffin, i get some extremely pointy nails - not here! Iva shapes my nails so perfectly, sometimes i forget they are MY nails! Prices are fairly decent, and scheduling is super easy. You can schedule SUPER far in advance as well! I haven't had my nails done since the start of the pandemic and was really excited to finally get them done as a special treat to myself. Unfortunately I was paired with Annie who painted my nails okay but behaved extremely unprofessionally. One of my nails had a small smudge on it and instead of fixing it, she painted right over it. I asked if that one nail could be redone and she said that she did not have the time because her next appointment had arrived. She passed me over to another nail tech to correct the problem. That other nail tech ended up completing my service (pedicure) as Annie then went to Publix and subsequently took her lunch break. Her next appointment? Nonexistent. It's extremely disappointing that i can only consider this salon as a last resort or an emergency alternative being that it is so close to my house. With the realization that i am not valued here as a customer I shall not be returning here unless absolutely necessary. After this original post I received a text message from Annie threatening legal action if I did not take down the photo of her back (no face visible) after returning from her next appointment/publix. I blurred everything out completely in the picture except for the publix bags so as to respect her privacy. I made an appointment and they were able to get me in at the time I needed. The appointment was with Iva and I have to say she's awesome! She did my acrylics for the first time and they came out awesome! She also helped me pick out colors when I told her what I was looking for. She's very friendly and works great. This has been my go to place for gel nails for a while and I've never had a problem, but recently I got acrylics done by Ronnie and was very disappointed. When I got my first refill, one of my nails was green under the acrylic and he did not acknowledge it whatsoever and instead rushed the job as he had another client waiting for him although I had made an appointment. Those nails came out alright but today I decided to take the acrylics off and the results were horrible. After only 2 months with them on, my natural nails are now extremely fragile and some are even GREEN. I would truly not recommend Ronnie for acrylic nails after this awful experience!!! read more

I came in with the admission that I'm a creature of habit and get some version of pale pink nails with sparkles every time l get my nails done. Right off the bat she said we're going to break me out of my shell and do something adventurous...and boy did we break out of the shell! We agreed on a dark grey nail with a chrome strip down one side of the nail. Lidia tried to convince me to do both sides, but I'm really in love with the abstract look of one side. My nails really did turn out amazing! What I really think differentiates Lidia from other folks who have used the NexGen dip powder on my nails is the fact that my nails aren't thick and clunky. My nails are thin but still reinforced by the dip powder. Lidia also nailed the shape of my nails - it's been a while since someone has gotten them all even and in an attractive shape. The picture doesn't really show how bad it is. I had my eyebrows done Monday before Thanksgiving by Kim. She burned me to the point that I have scars and scabs both in my forehead and my eyelids. I don't have much eyebrow hair and it has always been very easy and fast on other salons. It's Sunday, almost a week after and the scabs & scars are still there. But again, he was just so rushed to pick any glitter polish instead of looking at what I wanted it to look like and see what polishes I needed to achieve the look. My first and last time coming here. Don was in charge of my nails FOR MY WEDDING! He put a full set of what looked like shards of broken plastic on my nails and called it good. 5 coats of white polish later I realized that this wasn't what I asked for. Another tech came and tried to help, I showed her a pic of what I asked for she told him to take it off.....2nd coat....fail....remove ...3rd....fail...remove. Ben has been my nail technician for several months. She is careful and professional and does a beautiful job with my mani/pedi. I have used other techs and left disappointed. Use Ben! This is an update and a change of rating. After walking in on a Thursday around 5:30 ( Ben was not there) I was told that I could get a gel manicure if I would wait. After almost an hour of soaking in acetone to remove old gel, the remaining technicians started arguing because it was late and they didn't want to take me! Owner is very sweet but the woman who did my nails was rude and I asked her if she can apply a little bit of glue or acrylic on my natural nail which was a little bit broken and she said no.. like obviously one of the main reasons I came was to help with my broken nail because my natural nails are very long and I just wanted to save it, so fast forward I asked the owner if it's possible and he said yes so she ended up doing it (I knew it was possible to do because I've been to other salons who have done it) but my nails ended up looking uneven and the polish looked very clumpy. On vacation, I travelled from Key West to here because I needed my nails done badly. I sat with Don...He is not so inviting and he has that attitude and "Resting" face in which you either like him or you don't. My attempt to make small talk went on purposeful deaf ears as he ignored me and I was actually hesitant to get specific about exactly what I wanted as far as my nails. However, he worked very quickly, meticulously and calm and the end result was one of the BEST full set coffin shape nails I'd ever gotten. I usually ask my nail techs to freestyle a 1 finger design, just make it elaborate and pretty and Don's was a big FAIL (that's a first). I'm still searching for a good nail salon, so I visited Q Nails yesterday as a walk-in. They suggested I pick out my color while waiting, and within 15 mins I was called....so far so good! This salon is large, clean and nicely furnished. They have large comfortable pedicure chairs that vibrate and a gorgeous aquarium. The polish selection is good too. I saw a lot of gel polishes with a chart to help you coordinate them and lots of regular Essie and OPI polishes for those of us that prefer a traditional manicure. My nail tech was an Asian gentleman. He showed up with his tools in a plastic container, so I'm assuming/hoping they were sterilized prior to use. Overall, he did a pretty good job, but was a little aggresive with the cutting of the cuticles. He hurt me once, and after I spoke up, he was more cautious. I was pretty relaxed during the treatment, but was turned off by his constant coughing. Most of time he was able to turn his head, but there was a few times that he coughed on my feet...yuck! I deducted a star for that! Overall, I liked Q Nails. I will return, but this time I will be making an appointment with one of the female technicians. A regular mani and pedi is $30, and they offer spa services at reasonable rates. I will update this review, if I don't get coughed on at my next visit! read more
