Unsanitary service 4. Disrespectful treatment 5. $113 BEFORE TIPPING I came as a walk in at 2:30pm for a GelX manicure and regular pedicure and ended up leaving at 5pm. Halfway through my manicure my stylist mentioned that I would be switched to someone else because she had an appointment. I didn't mind this, as I was a walk in and know that appointments should be prioritized. When i showed my new stylist the reference photo she seemed prepared. She first motioned to do the wrong design on one of my nails; but mistakes happen and i caught it before anything could be done. My design required one french tip and I asked her to retouch/redo 3 times due to unfinished/crooked lines. Then came the stripped part of the design, 3 lines on my pinky that took 20-30 minutes to look DECENT. When trying to do those 3 lines I asked if there was someone else more fit for designs and that I would be okay waiting, she didn't pay any mind to my request and kept trying. After some more attempts I asked her to take off the stripe and told her that I would find somewhere else to do it. At this point, who i think is the owner came over and handed her another tool after they exchanged some words. The same issues happened, uneven lines, some even diagonal. Then she proceeds to pluck a HAIR FROM HER HEAD to try to do the line as she giggles, I was sooo taken aback at this point and had spoken up SO MANY times that I was speechless. My index nail was also placed on crooked so when I mentioned to her that the lines were diagonal she stated that my nail was crooked. 1. My fake nail was placed crooked and 2. even if my nail is crooked, your line should be straight! Again, I told her to wipe everything off and said I would go somewhere else. After she finally let me go, the owner asked if I wanted her to try and I said "that is what i have been asking for since this began". I could see from her expression that my mom really wanted a little pampering and, although we had agreed that we would not go into any stores and increase the risk of exposure, I stopped to check out the nail salon. First things first, I looked around and saw everyone taking precautions, the place looked clean and there was hand sanitizer everywhere. In addition, a sign said all customers must wash their hands before being helped. It was clear they were doing their best to keep everyone safe. The friendly receptionist even agreed to keep an eye out for my mom to make sure she didn't forget to keep safe (she is 81 after all). Fast forward: Even though I paid $20 to upgrade to the gel nail polish which is supposed to last a minimum of two week's,, the polish started peeling. She's had gel many times before done at LaBelle Beauty ACADEMY by students and at other salons that wouldn't come off without soaking in some sort special nail polish remover. We went back to get them fixed - most places will fix them for you within 2 weeks. After acknowledging that her nail polish shouldn't have peeled, the receptionist asked if she wanted another manicure and began to sell her a different kind of polish. Of course, I pushed back and told her that we were simply seeking to get her thumb nail fixed as it should have peeled. After a little back-and-forth and having spoken to her manager if we wanted them fixed we would have to pay for a whole new manicure. They didn't even offer to fix the really bad one or give a deal on the new manicure. I was really happy we had found this place for her to go get her nails fixed at the mall where she can walk around safely in the outdoors In a beautiful, shaded and sometimes air-conditioned location.
