Elsa was great. Quick, no fuss, knows her nails and left my hands and feet anew. I'm lo maintenance no glossy nails sparkly butterflies flowers or rainbows. But nothing is more telling than a naked nail to see the handiwork of a good nail tech. She knows her colors and convinced me to go Malaga Wine and I conceded... only toes. Malaga wine toes just rang so true to me. The place is nice and clean though does it smell slightly of acrylics and other toxic materials in the air ? Yes, but that's not their fault they just do what the client wants and I guess what advertising dictates. So do I recommend them? Yes def so. 7 chairs and 8 tables to accommodate so they are intimate and chill no loud buzzing and just a relaxed vibe. Will be back in a couple of weeks for maintenance.
Angela is fantastic! I moved to the area around 2 years ago and have been searching for my new nail tech, tried several salons and they were ok, but Angela is wonderful. Very friendly, detailed and meticulous. Not only do my nails look beautiful and absolutely perfect, but my profession as a dog groomer requires my hands to be wet 5 days a week for hours a day, this is the first time I have had ZERO lifting of my nails after 2 weeks. My nails were sturdy and color/polish looked brand new. Had a refill today and they are great again! Very impressed by the quality and will recommend her to everyone! Salon is also very clean and relaxed atmosphere.
I used to come here years ago and decided i came back! I had an appointment for 12pm on a Wednesday. I didn't have to wait when I came in. I really liked how my nails came out. They have a great selection of colors and their polish is very organized. I didn't get the name of my tech but she was the first women by the receptionist desk. She was very sweet and took her time The place is clean and newly renovated. You can tell they get a lot of the same clientele coming back
My co worker recommended this place a few weeks back, so in hopes I'd find a place that made me happy, I gave it a shot. The place is kinda hard to spot, but it's right by bonefish grill. The entire staff is great. In all honesty, usually when I go to get my nails done, I hardly talk to the people that are doing my nails, but here everyone is so friendly, you can't help but want to participate in whatever topic is being talked about. That to me is a big plus. Now to quality of work. I really wish I could have remembered the lady's name, but she has blonde really curly hair. To you madam, with the hands of an angel, thank you for doing such a great job. She took her time on both my feet and hands to ensure that both came out great. I like the fact that she asks you if you want your nails cut and also I had grabbed a polish and she was honest about the color and suggested something similar, which I ended up loving and I know is going to last me more than a week before it starts to chip. So basically, what I'm getting at, is that I found my go to place for my nails :)
Stumbled upon this nail salon by accident. I thought I was making an appointment at another nail salon near my home. However, when I called to reschedule my appointment And confirming their location I learned that it was somewhere else, since it's still nearby I decided to keep the appointment. Walked in today a little early and I was approached my a nice lady who ended up doing my mani/pedi. Her name is Sofia and she did a great job on my nails. I learned at the end that their price for a mani/pedi is $30.00 which is far less than other nail places, so that's a very good price. The only thing I didn't like is the heavy smell of cigarette/cigar but that is not their fault and right next door happens to be a cigar store. Overall, I liked the place, will definitely go again if Sofia is the one who takes care of me.
Thad the owner took great care of me today and he did an amazing job! He was quick, skilled, and pleasant to talk to. If your looking to get a full set of acrylics defiantly ask for Thad. This is a square-rounded shape with medium length. $30 for a full set regular polish.
I've been going there for like 7-8 years and I LOVE it! Best nail salon in Miami! Recently, I've been doing Dip Powder and I love it! I do my nails with Jing just in case you guys want to make an appointment! (: My nails were always super short but now they grow and I have to cut them like every other time I go do my nails.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Star Nails in Kendall. Following my appointment, I developed a severe fungal infection affecting all ten fingers. This has been painful, upsetting, and has required additional care and treatment. I have serious concerns about the salon's sanitation and hygiene practices, as client safety should always come first. No one expects to deal with something like this after a routine nail appointment. I hope Star Nails takes this matter seriously and reviews its cleaning and safety procedures to help prevent this from happening to anyone else. read more

I have been going to this nail salon for over 3 years and I won't go to any other. Jing is hands down the best nail tech. She takes her time and i leave a happy customer each time. I won't go to another place. Ask for Jing, I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

This is my 3rd time coming to this salon and i havent had any complaints until 2 days ago that i got a gel mani with Yusimy E. I initially called in saying i was gonna run about 10 min late and they said it was ok. So, I get there and i showed Yusimy the colors i wanted in a picture frim their ig page and she immediately responds, "thats acrylic, not gel. We cant do that color for gel." Lol, what!? Im sure they have those colors for gel. It was a simple light pink with white ombre but i wasn't going to argue with her so i just picked another color from their shelf. As she began filing off and then soaking my fingers to take off the gel that i already had on my nails, she repeatedly asked me if i was sure this was gel and not acrylic! LOL! She was having a hard time removing the gel even after soaking with acetone for 15-20 min. As a nail tech, you should know the difference and if the customer is telling you its gel then its gel. I don't ever use acrylic anyway! Anyways, finally gel is off. Now she starts the manicure and i ask her to please push back my cuticles, not to cut them. I told her i was a nurse and i don't like getting cut because in the past they cut too much and i bleed and it hurts/stings when i go to work thr next day and use hand sanitizer all day and not to mention the risk of infection. So she says, "she cant push back my cuticles, she needs to cut to be able to get to the cuticles in the sides too, i wont cut you." Again, i chose not to argue with her. As shes cutting the cuticles i can feel shes cutting too much and of coarse she cut me and i started bleeding. She said, "are you sensitive? nurses are such cowards (in her defense, she said it jokingly) but clearly i was bleeding and not being "dramatic". She cut me 6 times. Enough said. Paint job was ok, I've had other nail techs who were more detailed, but again not bad. So i asked her if she could put some sparkle/glitter on one nail to add some fun and she said "no, we only do that sparkle on acrylics not gel". Clearly thats not true cause I've gotten sparkle designs on my gel mani many times before. Again, kept my mouth shut and let her think shes right. After a few moments later where she got up to get something, she came back and said, "lets do the sparkle design, we are able to do it". Long story short, it came out horrible and i walked out of that salon so disappointed. $30 + $10 tip for a gel mani and a sparkle design i HATED. I had to make a U turn in my car and return to the salon and ask them to redo that one nail to take off the sparkle and just do the paint. Turns out Yusimy was gone. It only took me about 10 min from the time i left til when i came back. Someone else (i didnt catch their name) kindly helped me out and re did the nail. I appreciated that because i know how valuable timing is with their scheduling/appts. I was very disappointed with Yusimy because not only did i feel like she didn't care what i wanted, she seemed to be in a rush and did what was most convenient for her as far as for her timing. She seems like an expert in acrylic but needs more knowledge with gel. As i was getting my nail fixed by the other nail tech, she comes in and asks me what happened and i told her i wasn't happy with the design. She said i should've said something and i replied, you were in a rush and didn't want to take up anymore if your time. She said, "i wasn't in a rush, i just work fast." LOL whatever lady. If i do come back, it definitely wont be with her. read more

I've been coming here for years!! Love the staff & the selection of colors.. I usually get my nails done with Libna but she moved away. However, her sisters are great!! Keila, Ruth, or Zuni are wonderful manicurist & gels are their specialties here. I highly recommend this place not only because they have good service but their prices are reasonable.. 10/10! Been coming here for years! Prices are reasonable, $50 for gel mani/regular pedi! My nails are strong and healthy!! My regular mani typically lasts 4 weeks! Gel lasts 5 weeks! Dip lasts 6 weeks! They are clean and friendly. Be sure to ask for Elda, Sofia, Lisa, or Ruth! While they you can walk-in, make sure to book your appointment! Parking can be a little tough. read more
First time here but I'm already know I'm going to be calling this place my "home" salon. Serena is super efficient and thorough. The mani/pedi is $30 - they don't come with too many bells & whistles but it's a great value! Walked in on Sunday at 12:30 and was seen within minutes and in an hour I was basically done! There is no possible way that I could be any happier. Jane is the most amazing manicurist that I've experienced in months. I'm new to the area and tried another salon for my acrylics and left with thick, chunky, uneven nails. They were disgusting. A friend recommended me to Five Star and I'm so happy she did. Jane did my refill and recommended I get a gel top coat (under my regular polish) for when I get sick of my polish or it chips and I want to take it off but still have a shiny nail. She also made my acrylics thin and natural looking and shaped them exactly like the picture I showed her. The only downside to my experience is that I had to wait almost 45 minutes for my appointment because there was a miscommunication when making the appointment. But all in all it was worth the wait and I will definitely be returning. read more

I went to Maggie she was sweet and friendly. She did a good job. Cleaned my nails nicely. And left them perfct . i messed up my thumb during the drying and she fixed it without a problem Big selection of polish. Normal prices. Mani $11. Gel $30...Some of the nail dryer machines are broken lol read more

This was my best nails experience yet! The service was fast and everyone was kind. The design came out perfect and I'm getting compliments on my nails. Also, I love the shape of my eyebrows that they waxed them , this is the best they've ever looked!!! I am so impressed and would definitely recommend! read more

Elda was wonderful. She listens and is very good at painting. She also did a great job cutting all my dead skin and cuticles without cutting me. She is meticulous. She did three coats and they came out wonderful! I paid $25 for a shellac manicure. I will return! read more

I've had my fair share of salon hopping and so happy I found this one! I've only done my acrylics with Jenny, she's amazing and so nice. She does exactly what you want and doesn't get annoyed when you want something fixed. If you're looking for a new salon look no further :) read more

Absolute worst nail experience. The person who did my nails was "Yusimy" who was super rude and rushed to get it done. She was gossiping with her friend who was sitting next to me really loud the entire time and seemed to get annoyed every time I tried to ask her a question. The skin under my nail was bleeding because she filed down wrong and too fast. And.. my nails came out crooked. They also didn't have the color that I wanted and charged me $35 even though it said $30 on the sign. Then they said that the $5 extra was for "shaping." I am traumatized from this place!! NEVER GOING BACK. read more

Got a pedicure and full set acrylics. Happy with the service. I got exactly what I asked for. The lady who did my pedi took her time and didn't seem rushed as is usually the case at other places I've gotten a pedicure. Same thing for the girl who did my nails. Will be back. read more
