Nini is one of the best nail techs ever! I am extremely picky with my nails, I am of the mind set that if its a shoddy job I rather do it myself and I will not go back. Stumbled upon this nail salon by accident. I thought I was making an appointment at another nail salon near my home. However, when I called to reschedule my appointment And confirming their location I learned that it was somewhere else, since it's still nearby I decided to keep the appointment. Walked in today a little early and I was approached my a nice lady who ended up doing my mani/pedi. Her name is Sofia and she did a great job on my nails. I learned at the end that their price for a mani/pedi is $30.00 which is far less than other nail places, so that's a very good price. The only thing I didn't like is the heavy smell of cigarette/cigar but that is not their fault and right next door happens to be a cigar store. Overall, I liked the place, will definitely go again if Sofia is the one who takes care of me. read more

Do not bother showing up on a Sunday during business hours. No one answered the phone when I called 3x & when I drove there (since I was in the area) the salon was closed. There was no sign on the door indicating why the salon was closed although Yelp, Google and the store hours listed on the store window said they opened at 10:30am on Sunday. I arrived at ~11:30am on Sunday, 7/13/2019, and the door was locked, lights off. Super inconvenient. I was in Miami for the weekend and had been to this salon before. I needed an emergency nail repair but I was forced to find a new salon to help me with what I needed. I cannot recommend or count on a business that cannot honor its store hours listed. At the very least they should have left a courtesy notice on the door or put a notice in their voicemail recording for those calling wanting service. read more

This is my 3rd time coming to this salon and i havent had any complaints until 2 days ago that i got a gel mani with Yusimy E. I initially called in saying i was gonna run about 10 min late and they said it was ok. So, I get there and i showed Yusimy the colors i wanted in a picture frim their ig page and she immediately responds, "thats acrylic, not gel. We cant do that color for gel." Lol, what!? Im sure they have those colors for gel. It was a simple light pink with white ombre but i wasn't going to argue with her so i just picked another color from their shelf. As she began filing off and then soaking my fingers to take off the gel that i already had on my nails, she repeatedly asked me if i was sure this was gel and not acrylic! LOL! She was having a hard time removing the gel even after soaking with acetone for 15-20 min. As a nail tech, you should know the difference and if the customer is telling you its gel then its gel. I don't ever use acrylic anyway! Anyways, finally gel is off. Now she starts the manicure and i ask her to please push back my cuticles, not to cut them. I told her i was a nurse and i don't like getting cut because in the past they cut too much and i bleed and it hurts/stings when i go to work thr next day and use hand sanitizer all day and not to mention the risk of infection. So she says, "she cant push back my cuticles, she needs to cut to be able to get to the cuticles in the sides too, i wont cut you." Again, i chose not to argue with her. As shes cutting the cuticles i can feel shes cutting too much and of coarse she cut me and i started bleeding. She said, "are you sensitive? nurses are such cowards (in her defense, she said it jokingly) but clearly i was bleeding and not being "dramatic". She cut me 6 times. Enough said. Paint job was ok, I've had other nail techs who were more detailed, but again not bad. So i asked her if she could put some sparkle/glitter on one nail to add some fun and she said "no, we only do that sparkle on acrylics not gel". Clearly thats not true cause I've gotten sparkle designs on my gel mani many times before. Again, kept my mouth shut and let her think shes right. After a few moments later where she got up to get something, she came back and said, "lets do the sparkle design, we are able to do it". Long story short, it came out horrible and i walked out of that salon so disappointed. $30 + $10 tip for a gel mani and a sparkle design i HATED. I had to make a U turn in my car and return to the salon and ask them to redo that one nail to take off the sparkle and just do the paint. Turns out Yusimy was gone. It only took me about 10 min from the time i left til when i came back. Someone else (i didnt catch their name) kindly helped me out and re did the nail. I appreciated that because i know how valuable timing is with their scheduling/appts. I was very disappointed with Yusimy because not only did i feel like she didn't care what i wanted, she seemed to be in a rush and did what was most convenient for her as far as for her timing. She seems like an expert in acrylic but needs more knowledge with gel. As i was getting my nail fixed by the other nail tech, she comes in and asks me what happened and i told her i wasn't happy with the design. She said i should've said something and i replied, you were in a rush and didn't want to take up anymore if your time. She said, "i wasn't in a rush, i just work fast." LOL whatever lady. If i do come back, it definitely wont be with her. read more

There is no possible way that I could be any happier. Jane is the most amazing manicurist that I've experienced in months. I'm new to the area and tried another salon for my acrylics and left with thick, chunky, uneven nails. They were disgusting. A friend recommended me to Five Star and I'm so happy she did. Jane did my refill and recommended I get a gel top coat (under my regular polish) for when I get sick of my polish or it chips and I want to take it off but still have a shiny nail.
