I don't know what I was thinking no looking at reviews before stepping into this business.. I usually get my nails done in Garden Grove but I needed something fast so decided to try this place. They had an opening within 10 mins which was perfect. There were two ladies, one never smiled, she watched Asian dramas really loud while the other did my gel pedicure. She was very rough, she said I had ingrown nails (no one has ever said that and I get my feet done monthly) and literally clipped the corners of my nails really deep. My right foot hurt still stings so much. She kept texting while doing my nails, the seats are all ripping apart, her materials and colors are very outdated, and it's not even that cheap. At First I was over the moon with the work she did! But my Honey moon was cut to a WTF just happened! Sadly the joy only lasted 1day! Ok so I found this place in Fullerton called Gala nails and spa. I went in and asked for prices they were fair, the vibes there were pretty quiet, not crowded with only two ladies working there, So I thought id give it a try. I went on Saturday, the 12 of April 2025! Sadly not even 12-hours later the thumbnail fell off, yep the following day on Sunday afternoon. For It being so late I couldn't go to her to get it fixed. And so I decided to put glue on it myself and wait till Monday, but not knowing her schedule I went but it was close. And so the glue was holding on to my nail ok, so I decided to just live with it (lol) but Today another nail popped off just like that POPPED OFF! at this point I was not happy I mean $55 later and these nails are coming off less than a WEEK. I called her and explained to her what had happened she said come and I'll see your nails. I could swear she said after 2 pm and not at 2pm! so I get there after 230, she was upset because I was late, then she's telling me it was already one week since I had them done! I said no it hasn't been a week, I told her my thumb nail is glued on because it fell off on Sunday! she offered to glue the two back for FREE!!! but as I was driving to her I noticed most of them are kinda coming off literally i could peel them off. And so I said no take them all off and give me a GEL manicure on my nails. No more acrylics, she said it would be an additional $33. I said NO!! I'm not paying you any more money than what I just paid on Saturday then she said you need to pay at least $20. I again told her NO! I mean IDK what kind of material she uses but obviously was not very good. So at the end She did my nails in GEL and they still ended up looking like crap. She used an acrylic nail to remove the acrylics nails. she wedged it between my nails so painful, I guess she didn't care, since I wasn't going to pay her AGAIN, I will never go back, I mean I'm a pretty kool customer, she missed out. I don't know if this will ever happened to anyone else, or if it has happened. but my experience was horrible. She seemed like a really nice person but when it's her mistake, she could have agreed nicely and corrected it! I could have given her a second change. I can't with a full heart recommend her. This was literally the first time I've sat in a nail salon chair sweating out of fear. This is a whole arse story, but TLDR; read the last paragraph. My gel extensions started lifting, so I Googled the nearest nail salons and called them to see if they offered gel extension removal and if they would take walk in. That is how I ended up here. I walked in and there were no customers and two ladies (one probably in her 40s and the other 60s). The younger lady motioned me to take a seat where the older lady was sitting, and older lady got up so I could take her seat. It was a very hot seat. Tbh it makes me uncomfortable to sit in someone's fresh butt warmth but I sat because I'm a people pleaser. The older lady took out some nail extensions and I clarified I wanted to REMOVE mine and she said "yes it's to remove". I watched in curiosity. This is where I start getting distressed... She cuts my nails and tries to use the nail extension to wedge between my natural nail and the gel (!!!). Anyone that cares about the health of their nails knows this is incredibly damaging to do. She started prying and stabbing with so much force and when it wouldn't budge the younger lady had to swap with her to try to force it off. Telling them how to do their job is the last thing I wanted to do, but it started hurting so much I couldn't hold in my pained face. She noticed, and attempted to keep going, but sprinkling in small talk and complements, at some point cutting into my actual nail to clip off the gel with cutters... I pull my hand back out of reflex and it was finally at this point that she sees how uncomfortable I am and takes me over to another table to have me soak my nails in solution. She then uses a buffer to rub off the softened gel. Of course it's ineffective and she doesn't get it all off but it's been 35 mins and I have to go, so she just sanded the rest of the gel to make it blend with my natural nail and buffed it, so now if they're not ripped off or clipped into, they have an inconsistent layer of gel on top (which sadly, is preferred). I honestly would have done a less damaging/quicker/complete job at home. The service was $12 + $1 for using card + $3 tip. Overall... I want to, but I wouldn't come back. They seemed sweet and I want to support them, but it was so painful and I was so scared they were going to stab my nail off. Now that I think about it, the certificate they had on their wall seemed photoshopped too. Maybe come if you want to try their other services, but not for gel extension removal unless you want to get a taste of denailing torture methods. read more

The Gel X removal was rough, they cut off my Gel X, and used a fake nail to pry off my fake nails.. my natural nails were left all broken and messed up. The lady in her 60s did my nails, and my fingers were burning after she cut off my dead skin. Apparently she left a wound on all of my fingers.. my fingers had been burning the past 3 days since the service. I'm really upset about the nail service and my fingers hurts. I have been an on and off customer at this salon for many years. Well it's official I am out. I will never go here again. This has happened to me several times over the years and enough was enough. If you make an appointment it will not be honored. If someone happens to walk in in front of you they take precedence over your appointment. You have to remind them you had an appointment, which you shouldn't have to. That should be honored. You are a paying costumer and Fullerton is filled with nicer and cleaner nail salons. Recently, I made an appointment earlier in the day, I arrived at my appointment time and of course there were 3 people ahead of me. I gave them the benefit that maybe this time would be different. I had to remind Karen, the owner that I had an appointment and I was on a time crunch. She said "okay" I sat in the chair with the warm water and waited for 15 minutes. Based on where some of the other customers were in there service, it was clear they had arrived only a few minutes before I did. While I was waiting I began googling nail salons in Fullerton. I contacted one as I was sitting in the chair waiting and they said they can see me now. I thanked them for the last time because I will never be returning there ever again. If you value your time and you want a pleasant experience, use your hard earned money on one of the other local nail salons. This place is dated and old and they don't value your time! I never get acrylic. Typically just get gel polish because I love a natural round nail. I asked about acrylics this time, wanted them very short and narrow to pass as natural as possible. I wasn't happy with the result. I had to ask her to take some product off because short thick nails are not my thing. She filed them on the sides more but they are still really fat. I left disappointed. I still tipped $10. I can't NOT tip, I feel that shows bad character on my end. The customer service was ok but not necessarily the skills for a good nail set. I have a lot of product all around my nails, underneath, and some on my skin. I have a particular taste, but a skilled nail technician should be able to accommodate me, I typically tip better since I don't spend money on myself like this often. Lastly, I think she files (Karen) too close to the skin and deep into the nails. The nails are thick but she files mainly around the skin to try and blend the thickness out a little. My mom had to pay $45 and my mom easily handed her the $50 dollar bill. So my mom expected her change back. The lady that did her nails did not give her the change back, she just assumed that was her tip. She should of given my mom her change whether she was receiving her tip or not. I like to try new nail places and get my own experience instead of reading reviews sometimes, the customer service I received was awesome the guy was super sweet and was gentle. The only thing i didn't like was I didn't physically see him take out the tools from the package, you really have to be careful these days. You know the old saying, "you get what you pay for"? I wish that applied to this establishment. This place advertises decent prices but you don't actually get all the things that you pay for. I was running errands with some friends and had some time to kill so they stopped in for a spa pedicure because of the advertised price of $15. They indicate that the sap pedicure includes aromatherapy spa serum, exfoliating foot scrub, hot oil for manicure, and relaxing foot massage. For $15 that seems like a great deal. We should have noticed the warning signs when we walked in and the place as absolutely empty. They did not use any aromatherapy spa serum, the foot massage lasted less than a minute, and none of the spa massage chairs worked. The nail polish they use have been thinned out and they make it seem like they're doing you a favor if you request an extra layer to make sure there's adequate coverage. The final straw was when the two employees started talking trash about my friends because they had asked about pricing for callus treatment and then declined it. Just a bit of advice to the employees, when you're customers are Asian, you should be cautious and assume that they speak Vietnamese even if they do not look like it. I will admit, $15 for a pedicure is a good price. However since they advertised it as a "spa pedicure", you will be greatly disappointed if that is what you expect. Ultimately I would advise anyone to avoid this place. There are tons of nail salons throughout the area. While I can't guarantee the service at the other places will be better, I can guarantee they can't be any worse than this place. read more

So I stopped here today on a whim and I was the only one in the salon. I decided to get gel nails and a pedicure. The staff was nice and I was tended too hand and foot...literally. But the chair they put me in was like the one broken chair in the salon and the water was lukewarm at best. The jets barely worked and in fact one of them broke off right in front of me. I was actually put in danger. Once my gel nails were done and about to be put in the uv drier, the woman had the nerve to try and balance the light boxes on a pillow on my lap while the woman below was running water in the spa. I could have been electrocuted had I not voluntarily suggested to move to a table. Also my nails were not properly filed on the inside. The gel is like sticking to my fingers and it feels so uncomfortable. It's a shame because the people are so nice but the quality isn't there. read more

I'm done with this place. Gala Nails is close to my house which is why I kept going. They do an ok job most of the time, but they are short staffed. I went in yesterday (Saturday) @ 12:40 when I got there I asked how long for a mani pedi. I was told 30 minutes. I knew there would be a wait so I told them I would be back and went and got my eyebrows done nearby. I returned and they put me in a spa chair after a few minutes. I wait in the chair about 20 minutes until someone comes and starts on my pedicure. About 30 minutes into the pedicure I ask if someone is going to do my manicure and I'm told there is someone ahead of me. Closing in on almost 2 hours since I first walked in I tell them I don't have time. I was really disappointed that I wasted time there and didn't receive the service I was expecting. Thought I'd give them a whirl since I'm new to Fullerton. Customer service was fine, greeted and took me promptly but the manicure and pedicure was poor. Cleanliness was ok, surroundings a bit cluttered and dusty. Use of new and clean tools was about the only thing that was on point. Color selection- meh. My manicure was sloppy, the tech applied 4 coats of polish (including top coat) and this was just a normal mani-- not gel... so you could imagine how long I had to stay to let them dry--- with only using a tiny fan! I told the tech several times not to put so many coats--- plainly she didn't understand. The pedi was sloppy as well ( even after I pointed out some areas that needed to be cleaned up. My mani was smudged in a few spots due to the thickness of paint, pedi- paint chipped 4 days later. Trial and error- I won't be coming back. read more

Change your store hours if you are not going to be there to open on time. Not fair to patrons to wait, only to have no one show up.

I am a regular at Q Nails across the street (because its cheap) but being fed up with the noise, rudeness, and sub par quality of the acrylics I receive, i decided to try my luck at Gala Nails & Spa. I was pleasantly surprised. Karen was very nice, not too much of a talker though. The salon was clean and all the tools appeared to be sanitized. The acrylic set was $20 and well worth the extra $5. They were all the same length, straight and bubble free. She was gentle and didn't over drill my nail plate. I actually received a free gel top coat because it was my first visit. I will definitely be returning to Gala Nail & Spa. read more
