Hadn't been here, so family decided to give them a try. Arrived at 7 pm today (Saturday). Was told they were no longer serving anyone for the next 90 minutes; no offer to be placed on a waiting list. There were 3 tables inside with no one sitting at them, plus a number open outside; so not sure what the issue was, but disappointing nonetheless. The vibe is really cool here so we were excited to try it out. The server was a really nice kid and given some experience time, will do well. Unfortunately, it took over 30 minutes to get our appetizers which came out pretty much at the same time as our meal. The onion rings and fried pickles were too greasy and overall everything (except kids sliders) lacked seasoning. $100 for 3 burgers, 2 kids meals and 2 drinks, not worth a return visit. read more

I don't think that I have ever had a burger as good as The Big Bun from Fun Buns. The menu items are extremely creative and I had the opportunity to bring a few friends from work and they would say the same. While the restaurant was busy we still received wonderful service throughout the visit. Our needs were constantly met and the entire atmosphere of the restaurant was unreal. After a poor experience tonight we tried this place. My wife and I went here when it was a steak house so we were not sure what to expect. I had the hatch burger and it was amazing. We had fried mushrooms and pickles too and the food was completed quickly and served hot. They have a clean restaurant with good atmosphere and the service for a Sunday was excellent. The patty itself was absolutely delicious but the buns were amazing. The ranch was amazing. The veggies were super fresh. Wow, really good spot with fun atmosphere. It was fairly priced considering the quality of the food. We ate around 130 and it's 610 and we are still stuffed. Bill was $65 for two with appetizers and drinks. Service was a little slow because the young lady serving us was brand new and still learning but she was lovely and that made the wait ok. We will definitely be back! read more

Honestly, I really wanted to like this place. It has a cool funky ambiance and great location at the district. Unfortunately the food and service didn't deliver. We came for an early dinner on a Sunday afternoon with 7 people and had high hopes. The menu sounds promising but when we tried to order they were completely out of the sirloin, which is pretty surprising for a burger place to be out of burger. I ended up ordering the Cobb salad because I reviewed the photos on yelp and it looked delicious. I asked the waitress if I could swap the blue cheese and was responded by a sharp "no". The salad was disgusting. More than half of the lettuce was completely brown and wilted. There was a giant core in the bowl and was just too gross to finish. The chicken was juicy and cooked great but the rest of the salad was hardly edible. My fault maybe for trying a salad at a burger place. All in over $100+ for rude service and hardly edible food I think I'll stick to the food trucks at the district. I hope they can make some improvements to stay in business this time. read more

We decided to check out Fun Buns after seeing the restaurant featured on a YouTube channel, the Daytripper. Even though the PB&J Burger intrigued us all, our party of 6 ordered a variety of other burger varieties, the fish tacos, a fish sandwich, a Philly cheese sandwich. My 3 street sized fish tacos were truly delicious and very filling. They had a generous amount of lightly battered fish, pico de gallo, cabbage and their own yummy Baja sauce. We know a good fish taco and these were right up there with the best we've enjoyed in SoCal. All of our meals came with a nice pile of fries and everyone in our group loved their meal! The service was a little slow because it was pretty packed on a Sunday, but our friendly waiter was a pleasure and the food was really worth the wait. We are looking forward to returning and trying that PB&J burger, the onion ring tower and perhaps a boozy milkshake! Highly recommend! read more

I wanted a PB&J burger but I wasn't feeling adventurous for it so he let me get the cowboy and gave me a side of peanut butter to add to it to see if I liked it. ( what I believe to be the owner/chef gave me the choice to get the PB&J to see if I like it and if I didn't he would make me something else) So I ended up adding the peanut butter to the cowboy and I tell you this burger is out of this world! It will change your life. Fries aren't game changing but it's definitely not their focus. Also I don't like crinkle fries so maybe I'm a bad judge. No points deducted for the fries. read more
