Why haven't I been here before? This is a cool small bar and grill with some aeronautic themes going on. It definitely has a feel of a local go to. I don't know how many times I passed it driving up and down 281. They offer everything Burgers, Chicken, Salads, pizza, and not to mention breakfast. We started off with some Texas Tumbleweeds which were shoestring onions lightly fired. They were very good and plenty for the two of us. Stopped in for a quick beer and snack! Chips were made fresh, queso was soooo yummy!! There is a deep history of family here and it shows. Great stop for a Sunday lunch after we took our kids to play at the park. It took a little bit for the food to come out, but the food was fresh, hot and tasty when it arrived. Our kids both chowed down on burgers from the kids menu. I shared the Philly with my husband and it was really delicious, up there with one of the best we have had. You can swap out their sides for any other with no additional cost too, so that's nice. We also received a coupon in our email for their their thin fried onions or Texas Tumbleweed. I ordered the "Old School" burger. It was delish!! I added more of my favorite toppings like jalapeños, onions, and pickles. Every burger comes with a side of seasoned fries, and they were well seasoned. Some of the best fries I've had. As a comparison, I would say they are like Wing-Stop fries. The best soda that pairs with a cheeseburger is a Cherry-Coke. The burgers are cooked medium well, but I prefer medium. I asked my waitress Anna to make mine medium, and I can't say if it really was cooked medium. It did not have any shade of pink, but never the less the burger was DELISH!! Anna, the waitress wasn't very welcoming, but she was professional and checked on me to be sure I had everything I needed. The place wasn't very clean, my booth seat had salt on it, the ketchup bottle had a noticeable feel of grease and dried ketchup on it. The men's bathroom had not been cleaned in a while. Finally checked this place out for lunch today. Everything was great. Our server was so personable and friendly;we really appreciated her. I felt bad because I drank about 4 diet cokes but she kept my glass filled. We started with fried pickles and Texas tumbleweeds. They both came out smoking hot in huge portions. Then I ordered the rib-eye poboy and my husband ordered the Queso burger. Both were cooked to absolute perfection. The ribeye on my sandwich was not tough at all and seasoned perfectly. So so tasty. The buns and rolls that the sandwiches and burgers come on were soft and fluffy and almost melted in your mouth. New spot in town so popped in to give it a try. Gives off 1940s diner vibes with all of the old aviation decor. Inside is small; only about 10 tables (6 of them are booths). There's seating on the patio too, but it's winter, so it doesn't look set up yet. There was only one waiter for the dining room and I thought she could use some help. It was dinner time and most of the tables were full. She was hustling though and our waits weren't too long. Food came out pretty quickly. It's happy hour from 3-6, so I got a beer for $1 off. Fried green tomatoes were good, but the batter didn't really stick well. We shared the queso grilled chicken plate with red potatoes, but I could have eaten it all myself. Portions aren't overwhelming. The red potatoes were so crispy & delicious! Chicken was grilled nicely & the queso & pico were good. Prices were a little higher than what you can get at the Antler down the road, but it's a lot closer for us and the food is good. Give them a go! read more

Was recommended to check this place out, so we came for a Sunday lunch. It has an old school diner feel, which I love! We got an appetizer of the Texas Tumbleweeds which were hand cut, thin, hand battered onion rings. They were tasty, but I felt they needed some added seasoning as they were a little bland. Unfortunately, the waitress forgot to put it in, and we received these AFTER we got our food. The whole point of an appetizer is to get it BEFORE the meal. Epic fail there!!! I tried the chargrilled Old School cheeseburger with added bacon, and it came with homemade fries. The chargrilled flavor of the patty was very good. The bacon was thicker cut and very tasty. The French fries were good, but not very hot when they reached the table. My wife got the Chicken Stack sandwich and she replaced the fries with a salad. The sandwich was very good, the salad not so much. It had quite a bit of lettuce that was brown and old. Rotten basically, so that was a bummer. And, the sandwich comes with a huge mound of onion rings, so I wish the waitress would have mentioned that and then I wouldn't have experienced the fiasco with the App. Overall, the experience was decent, and the food was good enough for a second visit. read more

Very good burger. Has a homemade taste that is always a treat! Chuck's is lacking in atmosphere and doesn't have their liquor license as of yet (3/27/21) but the food is good and there aren't many solid options in the immediate area. One in our party had the Buffalo chicken sandwich and it looked good too. My husband, son, and I came here after earlier stopping by when doing food deliveries. Earlier I had decided I wanted a burger from another place, but after looking at the menu, I decided I'd like to try it. The interior is a cute, old time diner style. We were greeted by the hostess/waitress and grabbed a booth. I ordered the Black Jack burger, my husband ordered the Chuck burger, and my son got chicken strips. We had the burgers cooked medium. When the food came out I had a pile of toppings on my plate! I was even able to share some of the fried jalapeños and bacon with my husband. Both of us, upon taking our first bites of our burgers, looked at each other with knowing eyes. These were the best burgers we've ever had! They were cooked perfectly and the flavors were excellent. Burgers are now ruined for both of us at all other places. We also tried the chicken strips and they were also good. The fries were fresh and tasty as well. We would both definitely recommend this place and will be back on a regular basis. So thankful to have this gem nearby. read more

When we arrived and sat down, a nice tall man greeted us so kindly and then disappeared to the back. I figured he was the owner. This is my second time here, first time not so impressed but it's the closest burger joint to my sister's house. Only two other people here at 6:30pm off a major highway. Usually a red flag for me. I should have heeded my instincts. I ordered a Chucks Burger "please add mushrooms, a fried egg, all the way" (which means with tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, onions) and aioli; it automatically comes with fries. Here with my Mom. She ordered wings which were not bad but no dressing or celery sticks. Just naked bone in wings. My burger with tiny smashed buns came open faced with cooled melted cheese, a little shredded lettuce and a thin veil of a tomato with a small portion of tiny FRIED mushrooms on the side - all on a little metal tray, no fries. That's it. Absolutely nothing like I ordered. The waitress kindly took it back after I brought it to her attention (she seemed surprised, but when someone asks for a burger made special, a good waitress would see to make sure it was right before taking it to the table-it was open-faced and obvious) and nothing like I ordered. No fried egg. No said sautéed mushrooms, no pickles or onions or aioli. Since they were going to remake it, I asked for the patty medium please, not medium well. They used the same medium well patty which was so dry and tasted like propane, not beef. Propane. The fries were not too bad, they were fresh cut but wilted. The cook in back does not seem to care about presentation, taste or his job at all and the poor waitress, I just won't even say because she was sweet and tried her best, I think. If that kind man who greeted us is the Owner, please know your kitchen help can always be replaced. Maybe he just needs incentive or motivation. Maybe he's tired of cooking. This is the second time it has been disappointing here. So much potential, too! read more

This cute little restaurant has quickly become on of our frequents and have become regulars. Chucks has the best hand formed burgers and fries in the area. The meat is fresh and well seasoned, buns are buttered and toasted to perfection, the fries are hand cut and delicious. I also like to order the Cobb salad which the serve tossed in your dressing of choice so if you prefer it on the side make sure to ask when ordering. I highly recommend the ranch. Outside was deceiving but the inside has a cool diner feel to it. The fried mushrooms were pretty good but a little salty. The Cobb salad looked delicious and the burgers were pretty good. However I'm not a fan of presenting food on a small metal rectangular tray. Just put it in a basket like regular diners do. It was $100 for family of four with two sodas and three beers. We decided to try Chucks because I've read here that they had good burgers. In addition to the burgers, we ordered a plate of the tumbleweed onions and milkshakes. Honestly, everything was just ok, in my opinion. The food and the service. It is accurate to say that the Pattie's had more of an outside crust and soft on the inside BUT I'm glad they were cooked and none of it was raw inside. I thought the patties were the best part of any of the food we had. We were starving after a long day of being outside. The tumbleweed appetizer was ok. They were kind of salty. They also came on the Texas burger so my husband had to brush them off at that point. My son order the cure burger and ate most of it. He took the patty off the bun and didn't eat any of the fries because he said it was all so greasy that he couldn't eat it. I'd have to agree on the fries. They weren't crispy but they sure were greasy. Service was alittle slow. It was taking our waitress a while to come back to us but I thought maybe it was because they had a larger party of people in there to tend to. Regardless, whatever it was, our service was slow. Overall, I do not think this place should be overlooked because I thought it was decent and experiences may vary for different situations. Personally, I would try it again to see. read more

I enjoyed the fries and service. The burger had a very charred taste almost like on an open flame or with a dirty grill.

Ordered a cheeseburger with fries and an iced tea. Everything was good, but lacked seasoning. Salt is on the table, so i needed to use it. Adding salt to my food is extremely rare... but it really needed something. The hamburger patty itself could have used salt and pepper... as well as the fries. The portion was huge. I took half my burger to go along with the remaining fries and ate it for dinner. My only other criticism is that the cups look dirty or they have dishwasher soap residue. Other than that, the experience here was a positive one and i will likely give it another try. read more

We have been waiting for a great burger joint ever since "My Place" closed years ago! I think we found it! Chuck's is very very clean, the service and staff were polite and attentive and the burgers were excellent!!! They required 3 napkins each and were big, juicy, and flavorful! Good food, friendly staff, large portions. It appeared that they had a well rounded sandwich menu. The place was clean. We really like the fried mushrooms. The burgers were large and had lots of toppings. All burgers come with fries. So much so that we had to eat them with a fork and knife. The one negative was that the burger patties were thick and slightly over cooked so that the outside of the burger was crusty and slightly scorched and the inside was a little dry. This can be remedied by making the patties thinner or lowering the heat on the grill. Overall, I think any shortcomings will work themselves out as the owners gain more experience. read more

I've been here twice, and while my first experience was great, the second was so bad it will likely keep me from returning. The first time we visited our meals were great and the staff was incredible. My husband is a meat eater but my two young sons and I are not. The staff had no problems accommodating our dietary restrictions. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. However, the second time we visited our meals (the exact same order as our first visit) were made incorrectly and then I was made to feel bad for ordering it without meat. The staff glared at us the entire meal and made rude remarks under their breath. I've never felt so unwelcome. My children were treated poorly, and that was my last straw. I paid $12 for a plate of ice burg lettuce, a hard boiled egg and blue cheese. Not what I got on my first visit. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Being a vegetarian I've learned to make do, but the rude service and glares my children received from the staff were disheartening. My youngest has disabilities and can be a handful, and we were made to feel unwelcome and we will never return. Supposedly they are building a playground, but with how they seem to dislike children, they should rethink that decision. read more

This was our first visit to Chuck's. As the kids say these days, "10 out of 10!" Their burgers are fantastic. It's the closest you will get to an authentic backyard grilled burger. I had the Cure burger and my wife had the Mushroom burger. They were fantastic! The fries were very good, too. We also had a serving of the Texas Tumbleweeds (basically breaded and fried onion straws); also wonderful. The owner and staff were great to talk to. We even met the "Ma" who made the meatloaf recipe. It was a great experience for us and we will be putting Chuck's on our repeat visit list. read more
