The food? Outstanding. The value? Even better. My stress level? Delivered from evil. I was able to pick everything up the day before, which meant my wife did not have to spend three straight days cooking like she was competing on a Food Network survival show. Instead of chaos, we had peace. Instead of flour-covered countertops, we had joy. Instead of me pretending to "help," we had perfectly smoked meat and happy guests. And let me just say this about Sarah. She does not just serve food. She serves people. She has also helped me with a catering event, and everything was phenomenal. Organized, smooth, delicious, and handled with excellence. You can tell she cares about what she does and about the people she serves. If you are considering holiday meals or catering, stop thinking and just call them. Your family will be impressed, your stress will decrease, and you might even look like a hero without touching the oven. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend.

We usually have pretty good luck with this location. This was my order from the drive thru a few moments ago. Opened up - as presented.

We usually have pretty good luck with this location. This was my order from the drive thru a few moments ago. Opened up - as presented. Not a fan of eating fat, especially a large fraction. Was looking forward to having brisket. Somebody knew they were offloading this in the drive thru. Lesson learned.

Poor quality of Brisket
Michael B.

I've been to this location before and it has always been good but this time I don't know what they did to the brisket . It looked and tasted like something you would get from a fast food place. Everything else was good from the sausage to the chicken. I don't know if this was an off day or what but the brisket was disappointing. That should have never been sent out.

Banana Pudding

Love Smokey mo's so much! The food has always been consistently great, and the service is so welcoming and helpful with the menu. The have an awesome brisket sandwich and banana pudding, I highly suggest this place for a nice southern bbq meal!

The quality of the food

Visited during lunch bc I remember it being pretty good. The staff was friendly but the food was borderline inedible. The brisket was flavorless. The bark was rock hard, the meat was chewy, no rendered fat, and gray. The cheesy potato side was the quality of a microwaveable potatoes drenched in butter with prepackaged cheddar cheese on it. I don't think I'll ever risk spending money here again and it looks like others are doing the same as there was only 1 table filled during lunch.

My portions of burnt ends
Allen H.

I ordered burnt ends a large thing of beans and a set of the potatoes small my order is almost $40 and they literally sent me three burnt ends. OK I mean they didn't have anything on there that that was gonna be small. I mean, that was a lot of money to spend for such a small portion makes the meal taste horrible because I'm so mad that they bamboozled me

Daniel S.

The chicken was very juicy and moist. It tasted very good and the buttered potatoes were drenched in butter. First time visiting this place and I will come back again. Good size portions and the flavor was really good. The lobby was clean and there was plenty of seating available.

Very good BBQ. We had a mixture and shared. Made it family style like we always do. We will go again.

Worst brisket I ever tasted. It was dry and cold. Not juicy at all . Tasted like beef jerky.

Ask the Community - Smokey Mo's BBQ

Is the entire menu available at 7 am or is it only just the breakfast tacos? Could I just get ribs or brisket and creamed corn?

How much is the BBQ sauce?

Seating is plentiful. Is it worth it? Yes. Go early. Before they sell out. This is Texas BBQ. You see their smokers while waiting in line. All wood fired. All honest quality bbq. It took about 35-40 minutes to get to the door and another 10-15 inside. Service wise, all the servers were friendly. The main reason why the line take me so long is each order is customized. You can order by piece (1 or 2 ribs, 1 or 2 slices of brisket, etc) and it's weighed or you can order by pound. If you get pork ribs, try not to get the last piece...there's no meat on it and you're essentially paying for the bone. You'll order from 3 different stations (sides, dessert then meats) I opted to skip the sides to focus on trying the different meats and a dessert. The dessert was the mistake. I got the banana foster by staff recommendation. It didn't have any chunks of banana and too much cinnamon. But the worst thing is getting sick from it. I'd probably come back to try the beef ribs and sides next time I'm in the area. The brisket was one of the best I've ever had. It was tender juicy and not too fat. The pork ribs were very tender except for the end piece which was a little dry. The sausage was OK, nothing special. The two flavors of BBQ sauce (sweet and original) were different but okay.

All three servers were attentive, kind, and helpful. We received water and coffee refills without asking. ALL AMERICAN We exerperienced this meal two different days. The potatoes are deliciously seasoned and crispy yet soft and fluffy. Hard boiled eggs were prepared perfectly and arrived hot. The chicken sausages were sweet and savory. The preserve was divine, well bodied, and high quality. The wheat and sourdough toasts were toasted just right where they were crisp and soft. TEXAS WAFFLE Worth a try! Crisp, fluffy, and perfectly texture and flavored waffle. Great size for sharing. The berries topped with were fresh. The fresh whipped cream was creamy and thick and refreshing. STEEL CUT OATMEAL This is a large portion and great for 2-3 people. The oats were cooked tender with the right amount of water content. The bananas and blueberries were fresh and ripe. The toasted coconut was browned well, flavorful, and crisp. The honey and hemp seeds(?) Were a great addition. FRUIT CUP All fruit were ripe and fresh: honeydew, cantaloupe, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, pineapple. Crispy Chicken Wings Elected guajillo buffalo flavor. Great amount of heat and tang. Well-rounded flavor compared to a simple buffalo flavor. Accouterments in clouded fresh celery and Picasa. Smoky ranch was flavorful, not too rich, and a smooth consistency. Q Burger Elected a medium cooked burger. Very delicious, juicy, flavorful and balanced. All ingredients complimented each other. A burger lover would really enjoy this burger. AMBIANCE Very high ceiling. Open, fresh space. Surrounding sound was relaxing with the indoor river flowing next to the Q Kitchen. Cool climate control. Gentle country music low enough to hear and have a quiet conversation. Lights are lowered during late night dining.

Favorite item was the Alamo huevos rancheros. This was a rare treat to enjoy a dish with brisket, cheese, and salsa without some kind of heartburn afterwards. But this was lighter than expected and tasted amazing! Other dishes we tried: Egg white frittata: very good and a nice touch that it is served in a skillet! Texas waffle: was one of the best waffles either of us has had in a long time Blueberry pancakes: very good. I really enjoyed the stewed blueberry Chilaquiles: this we felt was the only miss. Didn't like that it was prepared with tortilla chips instead of fried tortillas Steak and eggs: ask for extra chimichurri sauce and maybe add some extra salt. Once you do that, this dish is fantastic Avocado toast: this definitely needs smoked salmon or other protein. Otherwise it isn't very substantial. I had it with smoked salmon and it really hit the spot. The service was polite and attentive. We're excited to return for our next visit

I didn't need extra fat from avocado after the corn cakes since it doesn't add much flavor to the dish. The corn cakes are good and I will order again but not as good as some other cornbread. It came with 2 cakes. One was undercooked and one has a crispy crust. The undercooked one was my favorite. It is more moist with soft in the middle. Tuna Al Pastor has a kick but nothing special. Tres Leches was beautiful. 4/5. I like the fresh fruits to cut down the sweetness. The cake was a bit in the dense side. The icing on top was thick. I wish it was a fluffy whip cream to cut down from all the sweetness. Overall it's still a better tres leches than other places in the area.
