Visited the bread box with my friends a couple of weeks ago; it is located in a cute boutique mall with plenty of parking. The restaurant itself is a little small but has a private room for reservations and the decorations are cute and kitschy. It's definitely a place to host events like birthday parties and girls' afternoon out. The tea was great - I liked that they let us choose two flavors and kept our teacups full. The food was great; I really enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich and the brookies. My only complaints are that the A/C was either not on or not cooling the restaurant much, we were sweating indoors. The restrooms are also located outside in a shared building with the other businesses, but theyre like regular restrooms otherwise. I definitely recommend this place if you are wanting to try out high tea for the first time or if you're wanting to take your kids out - the prices are very reasonable and there's fresh baked pastries and breads to take home available as well :)

Bread Box is a quirky spot, with a winding, cramped layout, and a patio that would benefit from a power wash. We tried the crispy chicken sandwich and the egg and bacon breakfast. The bread (bun and toast) was good, and the chocolate chip cookie that came with the chicken sandwich was baked perfectly and scrumptious. Unfortunately, the restaurant's chicken supplier is doing the Box - and diners - a disservice. The breaded chicken breast was sinewy, and difficult to chew. This was a shame, because the flavor was solid - a bit of spice and savory. The eggs and bacon were good but underwhelming, as was the oversized marshmallow square we added on last minute. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the Bread Box.

The Bread Box is such a gem in San Antonio! The vibe is super cute--bright, welcoming, and perfect for a casual meal or a little treat. I ordered the burger, and it was so good. The fries were tasty too, the perfect pairing. It came with their chocolate chip cookie, and wow... it was everything you want a chocolate chip cookie to be--soft, chewy, and full of rich chocolate. I also grabbed some bread and a sweet treat to take home, which was the best decision because their baked goods are just as amazing as the meal itself. We had a reservation, and I'd definitely recommend making one as made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Already looking forward to my next visit!

We stopped by The Bread Box for a late lunch and were lucky to make it in before they closed at 3, hence the quiet dining room. The food was absolutely worth the trip! I had the smash burger, which came on a fresh, perfectly toasted bun with crispy battered fries: crunchy on the outside and soft inside. It also came with a giant chocolate chip cookie that I saved for later. My husband ordered the honey butter chicken biscuit; it was flavorful but a little on the greasy side. We also grabbed a cinnamon roll and pan de muerto to go, both were delicious! We'll definitely be back.

Fantastic baked bread and pastries! Place was recommended by a friend as I've been searching for delicious sourdough bread. Love that I can place an order and swing by for a pickup. They also have some cute decorated cakes (which you do need to place orders for) as well as full pies for purchase! Bought a coconut cream to go and they are generous enough to label it with "Happy Birthday". Lovely place!

This is the cutest place to grab breakfast, brunch or lunch! Bring the family or a group of friends, this place is perfect for simply catching up with friends or celebrating a special occasion. The inside is picturesque perfect for a tea party. They have cute table settings, beautiful plates and platters, a colorful interior and wonderful food. I tried the smash burger and it was perfectly juicy, paired with crispy fries (the best fries in my opinion) and a chocolate chip cookie. This is the sort of place you order at the counter and seat yourself. They keep it very clean, from the tables and chairs to the lighting fixtures. I feel as if so many places these days, forget that you need to dust the ceilings, fans and lights. It was a breath of fresh air, seeing how pristine and clean this shop is. The staff was friendly and attentive. The cookies and sweets were delicious! I tried the chocolate chip cookie that came with my meal and a rice crispy treat. I only needed one of these today, but it was hard to pass up the rice crispy treats while checking out. The entire menu sounded delicious, so I will definitely be back. If you visit the bread box, you dull bit be disappointed!

This review is for the high tea only 3/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Our friend made a reservation for a ladies' high tea service on a weekday for 11am. We looked forward to it and walking in we loved all the floral decor and cuteness of this shop. We received our tea tower to serve the 3 of us and our tea. Disappointing: - no menu to choose your own individual tea to steep in your own individual teapot. - tea provided was only a slim selection of packaged tea bags to steep in your own tiny tea cups. - no honey or milk to add to your tea table side. However, small brown sugar cubes were available. - no table side jam or curds available - sandwiches were tiny , could have used a little more cucumber. Positives: - friendly service, the girls checked on us frequently - limitless pot of hot water was provided. For $25 per person we did not feel it was worth it. We noticed customers come here for lunch, and all dishes ordered going past us looked fabulous and delicious! Lunch here is where they shine! Large sandwiches, salads, and quiche that come with a house made cookie and tea are clearly the winners. We'll have to come back not for tea service, but for lunch!

I can't say enough about this place from the decor and vibes, the absolutely fresh and delicious food, and the warm and welcoming service. Their pastries, kolaches, cupcakes, cakes and pies oh my! Even their fresh baked bread wafts in the air inviting you into this delightfully sweet shop. It's like a lady's quaint little tea house. Come and see.

A while back, I had high tea with one of my girlfriends. High tea might be traditionally a ladies thing or even a mother/daughter thing, but Dad and I are changing all that. I made reservations to have high tea with Dad @the_bread_box yesterday lunch. Since Dad doesn't eat much, I asked if we could share one portion and there were no issues. It's $25 per portion, and we paid for an extra tea. Tanya made sure our teacups were full of hot water. Dad loved the sugar cubes with his tea. I ordered at the counter for a 2-egg Breakfast for Dad and I to share. There were 4 strips of super crispy bacon. Just enough food for us to enjoy. If you're looking for a reasonable place to enjoy high tea, @the_bread_box is the place to go!

This is a cute cafe.. You order at the counter and pay. The staff are friendly but the service was a little slow. The water and tea were pretty much self service. The fried chicken was over cooked and super dry. The Italian bean soup was pretty tasty. The "chicken strips" was a small fried chicken breast cut into slices. I think my cousin's breakfast was the best dish we ordered but it is super hard to go wrong on breakfast. The focaccia jalapeño bread they sell there was really good. The Oreo rice Krispy was good as well. The oatmeal creme pie was TOO sweet according to my husband.. He has a sugar tooth. Overall, I am not sure if I would come back.
