The absolute WORST cheeseburgers we've ever had in our life. Had high hopes for a good Cheeseburger on a Friday night. Beers are cold so that was a positive. Ordered the 1/2 pound bean burger and the onion rings. The Bean and Cheese burger was less than memorable and the onion rings were all batter no onion. The wife ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and the bun became one with the burger due to the excessive grease. We are locals and love supporting local business but this is one we won't be coming back to. Absolutely a waste of money and honestly a burger from Whataburger would have been better than what we were served tonight. Their strawberry margarita tasted like strawberry syrup and alcohol and was also less than palatable. The buns were not toasted and both burger buns were soggy and made the entire dining experience a less than memorable one. read more

We normally like Beefy's and chose to have dinner there. Even though it is January, the temps were only a littke cool. We decided to eat outside, knowing from past visits that there were propane patio heaters. And yes, there were 4 heaters. However, none were functional. Dunno why Beefy's keeps them there other than to fool customers. It could have have been a great evening meal instead it was something less than mediocre. read more

Love this place. My go to menu items are the grilled chicken with cheese and mushrooms, mashed potatoes toast and salad. I also love their salads and buffalo chicken sandwiches. It's a fun place nice patio and outdoor area for kids to move around. Dark lit inside so it's fun for evening drinks and dinner. Service is always fast and friendly. read more

I live fairly close and finally stopped in a pinch to get a quick bite. The person taking the order was useless. Told him It was my first visit for maybe suggestions. Crickets. I ordered a burger and didn't have a clue you had to ask for the regular add ons (lettuce and tomato etc) The prices are right there with the national burger chains. $10-$15 for a burger. Had the mushrooms for an appetizer and they tasted just ok. Wouldn't order again. My burger was just ok. Nothing to make me want to stop again. read more

Walk up counter with menus over head. Elliott greeted us with a smile and answered all menu questions with ease and enthusiasm. Decor was simple and casual, country style, tvs throughout the restaurant, comfortable seating. We both ordered atomic burgers, onion rings and an appetizer to share, fried pickles. Fried pickles, a bit too salty, did like the crunch and that they were sliced thinly though. The onion rings were delicious, hot, crispy and crunchy. The atomic burger was fantastic! We have visited twice. First time I had a blt which was piled HIGH with bacon. Lettuce and tomato were both fresh. We shared fried okra which was good. Second time I had a cheeseburger which was great as were the onion rings. Staff is friendly and food comes out quick. read more

Beefy's is about a 30 minute drive for me, but it's worth it because the Atomic Burger is the best burger I've had in a long time. I've seen other people complain about the fried pickles being too salty, but I thought they were great...I do love salt :) I recently stopped in and had the buffalo chicken sandwich. Beefy's is a great local eatery in proximity to the 281 and 306. Diverse menu, great wait staff and friendly local vibe. This is a go-to for a meal out when nobody wants to cook. Not fast food, and not full blown restaurant- nice "tweener". We're still trying all the offerings, but the fried mushrooms and burger is a great way to go. Pay attention because while not an obscure location you could easily drive by it although it is right there on the 281 with big signage. Enjoy read more

Beefy's has been here for a while. I have been here twice in the 10 years I've lived here despite it being only a few minutes from my house. Mostly because the first time I don't remember being too impressed. And this time really didn't change my mind. The ambiance is rustic burger joint. Concrete floors, aged wood walls with sparse decorations and a few pics of I'm assuming the owner with some celebrities. Order at the counter off an overhead menu. I don't mind that if the focus is on serving an outstanding burger. It was okay. Probably the same burger they have been serving since opening. The patty was thin, the bun was soft and tasty, lettuce, pickle, tomato, onion, and mustard. Think Whataburger. I left there thinking I would not be back. I really hate that because I want them to do well. Maybe they have their regulars and that's all right. Who knows? If you're in the area and want something quick and convenient, stop in. What a great restaurant. Very cozy and a place for families to get together. Inside and outside sitting. I had a salad and the ingredients were fresh and the lettuce was crispy and nice cold temperature. Oh before I forget, there's a good selection of beers at very cold temperatures to help you refresh. I learned about Beefy's since this is where the Comal County Bee club meets. They serve, delicious hamburgers, and salads of all kinds they have different ice cream's, I had myself a strawberry sundae ice cream today reminded me of being a kid just don't find those unless you can find an ice cream truck.. they have a lot of other dishes but I am a creature of habit and just get the wonderful hamburgers and different salads. My wife and I stopped for a burger here over the weekend. The burger was good, the onion rings were good but the bottled beer was not good! We had a mushroom swiss burger and a chili burger and both were good sized with plenty of toppings on them. The onion rings were crispy and good sized. We both had a bottled beer and it was the skunkiest beer I've had in quite a long time! I'm not sure if it was old or if it had gone through numerous heating / cooling cycles. I absolutely love the Voodoo that they do to those fried pickles! Let's talk portion size...they dredged better than half a standard sized jar of dill pickle chips into a highly seasoned, flavor packed flour mixture, and fried them crisp! Well, maybe the fryer was tuned up a bit higher than normal, because although the onion rings had the perfect breading that allowed the onion to stay attached to it and not pull off on its own, were a little bit too crispy dark. But that did not hurt the pickle game one bit! Dipped in some ranch, the pickles were roadhouse heaven! Paired with thick juicy burgers that packed in plenty of beefy goodness true to the namesake! This is what you look for in a burger place. The burgers are perfect, exactly how you want them (add or subtract what you want and the flavors will hit home). When you walk in and are greeted, place your order and name and get seated. Everything else is taken care of by a friendly staff. Almost didnt go in because of the stupid truck with all the tRump stickers in the first parking spot. That says to me that people there arent vaxxed, dont wear masks, and couldnt care less about you. Went here with my husband the other day and could help but noticed a young girl with colored hair fiddling with her facial piercings then proceeded to touch items being handed to customers.....gross. As someone who used to have piercings I know how gross and crusty they are especially when touched constantly! Keep the hands out of the nose and all should be good Wanted to add that everything else was amazing! I just can't get past the piercing picking. read more

We are regulars at Beefy's. This place has great food even if you get takeout. One thing I recommend is if you order one of their hamburgers to go, ask them to put all of the vegetables on the side as well as the bun separated from the meat because the bread gets very soggy, very quickly otherwise. They're happy to do it and always provide great customer service. This night in particular I got the taco salad with ground beef, highly recommend! Everything is always very fresh. My husband ordered a double meat burger but we forgot to take a picture of it before he devoured it. I also highly recommend the turkey club basket, it's a go to for me most of the time. SO...I am a self-proclaimed cheeseburger connoisseur so when my dad mentioned this place, I couldn't pass it up! However, upon inspecting the menu via Yelp (see what I did there?) I decided on trying their taco salad. We arrived in the parking lot, didn't seem too busy so we were able to find a spot up front. They offer both handicap and Purple Heart veteran parking near the entrance which is wonderful. I love the aesthetics of restaurants like these - minimal but cozy. Places like these usually have great food. We walked up to the counter to order. The girl at the cash register was very friendly and welcoming. She offered us an information sheet with a description of the different kinds of burgers they offer. But like I mentioned previously, I had already had my mind set on the taco salad. My dad ordered the taco salad as well and my stepmom ordered the Texas Burger. We also ordered the fried green beans for our appetizer. We made our way to the self-serve drink station where you can also pick up condiments and plastic dinnerware. Yay for Cherry Coke! We sat ourselves and watched the TV monitors while waiting on our food. The green beans came out first, we had asked for ranch to dip it in. Not too bad! My stepmom really liked them. Our main courses came out not long after. It was then that I realized there was no sour cream, salsa, or guacamole on our salads like I'm used to. I asked our server for sour cream but she said they don't carry it. WHAT?! You can't have any type of taco without sour cream! My dad apparently didn't hear me ask so he also asked and got the same answer. I didn't even bother asking for guacamole...I figured they would be less likely to carry that if they don't even have sour cream. My stepmom gave me her salsa and I asked for more from the server. That did not do the trick so I asked our server for some ranch - I figured I'd try it. Ended up being a good idea! Doesn't make up for the lack of sour cream but it was better than nothing. Stepmom enjoyed her burger but from where I was sitting, it looked super bland and uninteresting. She asked for mayonnaise and the server brought her two packets of mayo. Same thing when my dad asked for hot sauce...packets of Tabasco. I have never had an experience quite like this one, but not in a good way. While the staff seemed good (except for one - but I won't bother mentioning her), the food was subpar. Maybe I'll try the burger the next go around...if there is one. read more

Stopped in for late lunch, so it was quiet, only a few other people there at 3:30 ish. Decor is old Texas country, with several TV's on the walls and music playing from one channel, mostly country. Order at the bar area and they brought it out. Two young ladies tending register were very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about the offerings- they have beer on tap. There's a few booths and several free standing tables, a play area outside with some tables for nicer weather. Ordered burgers - me a green chili burger that's not even on the menu! Very pleasant, very clean restrooms, reasonable prices. Our burgers were both tasty and the Shiners went down well. Curly fries basket was crispy and plentiful but full of tiny end pieces which is the reason for the 4 stars. Maybe 10 fries longer than an inch 1/2. Wasted most of them. They could also use a better bun as it was a bit dry on top but it was fine enough. The flavor was good and veggies fresh so you'd hardly notice. I'd stop here again! read more
