Okay so first of all the woman who runs the truck is very personable, she was so nice to talk to :) every single thing my husband and I ordered was incredible! The grown a$$ grilled cheese was absolutely STUFFED with shrimp and crawfish, and the fries are so good especially when you make em dirty. My husband got the catfish and shrimp, and personally I dont really like catfish, but even i have to say it tasted amazing! The pineapple lemonade was super refreshing, the pineapple flavor was strong and sweet. We also got a couple desserts. The bread pudding balls were perfect and unfortunately I am currently way too full to try the oreo stuffed beignets, but they look like they're gonna also be delicious. I have been wanting to try Nola Bayou Bites for a couple of years and I finally got the chance. They were parked along the road I take to go home after work so it was perfect. It turns out that I have a mutual friend with the owner so it was very nice chatting about the business and the food. I was able to ask questions about the menu and I was given several options, all of which sounded delicious. Ultimately, I ordered a half and half shrimp and catfish po boy, a mixed order of beignets which included 2 classic and one oreo, and a peach lemonade. Everything was packed up hot and fresh and by the time I was home I was ready to eat. I ate the po boy so quickly I did not take any pictures, but everything was seasoned perfectly. I will definitely be going back to Nola Bayou Bites to try something else from the menu! read more

We have been trying to catch this truck in our area and we FINALLY did and it was WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!! We had some DELICIOUS cajun Pasta with tons of chicken, sausage, and shrimp. We also got a side of Crawfish etoufee and an order of boudin balls which were loaded with all the incredible flavors of HOME!! Our fish and shrimp platter was fantastic and seasoned to perfection. We HAD to try Mrs. April's WORLD FAMOUS BANANA PUDDING SUPREME It was the BIGGEST, FLUFFIEST, MOST DELICIOUS banana Pudding I've EVER HAD!!! And would you know after sharing our stories from back home on the bayou and lots of laughs, Mrs. April noticed we hadn't ordered her PERFECT Biegnet's so she gave us a complimentary order to try. Omg the food was sooooooo good. I love cajun food but not all places can cook it. Most the time its overly salty or not enough flavor. The shrimp and fish was season to perfection and fried perfectly. She also gave me a cup of the lemonade to taste and it was sooooo good. Went to pick up 2 king cakes (really good) and ended up ordering the whole menu. Was hosting a house shindig and April was gracious enough to provide more than enough food for around 30 guest. Huge pans of catfish, Cajun pasta, red beans and rice, jazzy grits, sautéed shrimp, chicken and sausage. The delivery was timely, pricing was very reasonable, the communication was easy and the food was great everyone loved everything and took leftovers home . This is not NOLA food. It is someone's idea of NOLA. The dirty rice is Rice-a-roni with sausage in it. The Red beans and rice taste like it has crab boil in it. That's not NOLA. No restaurant in NOLA would do a pasta with MAC-N cheese. Yuck. The best thing was the fried shrimp and French fries but even that wasn't Nola. Ordered an 8oz crawfish entoufee, boudin balls, and dirty dirty grilled cheese with fries. Although the wait was quite long, food was delicious. Really enjoyed all three dishes. I was a bit worried buying deep fried food because some establishments use old oil that leaves weird aftertaste. The boudin balls from Nola Bayou Bites did not have this aftertaste. I could tell from the smell that they didn't use old oil to fry the food. It only showed the owners care about the quality of their products. On the plus side, the ladies were friendly. I'm glad I tried Nola. Happy to support local businesses. I'm a fan and will be coming back for more. Wish they have gumbo tho. read more

If you are looking for a great meal, stop by Nola Bayou Bites food truck off of FM1103 and Brite rd. I was so excited for the beignets that as soon as my hubby got in the car with the bag, I just had to eat one right away! They were light, fluffy, and just the right amount of swsweet. The shrimp po boy was huge and shrimp was cooked perfectly. The fried chicken combo plate was delicious too. Those red beans were some of the best I've had and the chicken was crispy and juicy! Parked at 1103 and Brite Rd, I stopped after driving by nearly everyday. I ordered the bread pudding balls and beignets. The ladies running the stand were super nice. After letting my dessert cool down on the ride home I dug in and wasn't disappointed. The bread pudding is absolutely delicious. They have a crispy outer coating and soft warm inside. The beignets were tasty with a bit of jelly. They also had some unique lemonade that I'd definitely Get again. The gals were so nice that I want to stop and try their food next time. read more

I was on my way to the grocery store whe I spotted this food truck. I decided to stop by. I ordered the catfish plate with fries, sweet and spicy wings and a order of beignets. I shared everything with my husband. Everything was very delicious. The fish was seasoned well I will ask them to fry longer as I like my fish crispy. The beignets were fluffy and yummy. Let me tell ya. I can't even put into words on how great the customer service is. I got the catfish platter which was flavorful and really good. I came back to the truck to let them my review. Which in turn had a great 40 mins of laughter and just a good time with the ladies. They even gave me a bowl of the red beans and rice. When I got home I ate the whole bowl!!! Would've loved to try the food. Visited at the Juneteenth Block party. Saw a food item that was on a flyer taped on the truck that didn't have a price. Couldn't find it on the small print menu. Asked the person at the window the price. Her initial response was the price is on the menu. She did tell me the price but at that point I was no longer interested in giving them my money. Love love love!!! Not only is the food amazing but the service is great!! I truly enjoyed speaking with the sweet women inside this cute Mardi Gras style food truck. The Voodoo Lemonade is my absolute favorite! Just need her to tell me the whole recipe so so I can have it in a pitcher in my fridge with some Rum or Tequila! Lol!! The Shrimp and Fried Grits is so perfectly cooked. The fried grits has a nice crunchy shell with a savory and fluffy center of grits. The shrimp and catfish plates were equally good! The fries had just enough spices and the fried plates were not heavily breaded. The boudin balls were huge (that's what she said ;-)) and could be shared. The beignets were the perfect ending to this lunch. The powdered sugar original and the new glazed made our day with their sweet goodness and texture! I am a huge fan of anything Cajun....especially if it's from NOLA and homemade, handed down recipes. This food truck is a must!! Get there early....it's worth the wait!!
