One of the classic Seattle bakeries. Bought some pastries doe my coworkers. I love the ham &cheese pastry for breakfast... fervently buttery and flaky. Our other favorites are the custard filled malasada with crunchy crispy outside because of the perfect textures. Also the pear pastry, blueberry lemon pastry and twice baked apple filled croissant. 7 pastries ~$28 read more

I came by after I got off work as it's close by and a friend suggested it. I ordered a gluten free cookie, donut and dessert. The donut was my favorite! I think it was a matcha type donut so it had a different texture than normal, but I liked it. Flavor was good and it was topped with a light raspberry frosting. The cookie was ok. It had cranberries, which wasn't my favorite, oatmeal and chocolate chips. I feel like its hard to find really really good ones. The last item was a matcha dessert. It had good texture, but didn't have much flavor, but it was really pretty. There are a few other gf items I have tried yet, so I'll have to go back and try them. read more

I came here for the caneles. They were descent, but not the best I've ever had. It's a tough pastry to master. It needs a little liqueur and a tiny bit less time in the oven. The croissants are really good, but i was not impressed by the custard bun. The custard was lacking flavor. Maybe try adding vanilla. They have some nice looking desserts in the case and if I'm in the area then I will probably come again. read more

My sister is in town for her sweet 16 and forgot to order a cake. Fuiji Bakery, had the exact cake she had spotted in their website. The inside is so cute and smells amazing. Such a wide variety of pasteries and other yummy foods, so glad I got there early to snag this beautiful Japanese Strawberry shortcake. Can't wait to eat it later! read more

What is there not to love about Fuji Bakery? Not only are the baked goods amazing but they have some of the best green tea I have had in Seattle! I was fortunate enough to find some of the green tea melon pastries still on the shelf. I love these! They are not too sweet and are soft and moist inside and not to hard outside. I also purchased several pastries to take home but they were eaten before I could take pictures of them. The green tea matcha roll is good as is the peanut and jelly although there is no peanut butter in it. If you decide to eat inside there are two very long tables with benches. One bench has seating on two sides and the other can only seat on one side. All of the staff were very pleasant and I think I met the manager or owner who was very polite. I was pleased to see how nice and friendly everyone was. I like going places where the staff are happy with their jobs. As far as parking goes, there is parking on the street in front of the bakery as well as a lot on the south side of the shop. A great bakery with great items for deserts or even a meal. read more

I ordered the pear croissant and the ham and cheese croissant. The pear croissant was 10/10. So flaky and not too sweet. The ham and cheese croissant was good, I only wish it was warmed. Parking is pretty limited. Staff were friendly and efficient. read more

Smoked salmon brioche squared. No, really. They have a smoked salmon brioche--in cube-form. And, it was SO good, bursting with smoked salmon, surrounded by a rich and buttery brioche. A surprise visually and taste-wise. I dropped a little piece of salmon on my gear shift, and popped it in my mouth without even thinking about it. My car is filthy, so this should horrify you. Most prices for each piece ranged from $2.50 - $3.50 and were so beautiful, they make Columbia City Bakery's pastries look like Sysco food product by the can. Raspberry coconut cream, grape/cream, chocolate cream, strawberry cream pastries...and my new FAVORITE dessert. No sh*t. As in, my favorite until replaced by something else. The orange cream pastry. A slice of sugar-boiled orange, dipped in chocolate; the orange slice was so soft, it seemed almost fresh consistency-wise--but the rind was soft, sweet and edible. It didn't have that chewy candied fruit texture at all. The cream...the half-dip of chocolate...BLARGH. The croissants are interesting and tasty as well! Green tea over chocolate, raspberry chocolate cream, and the baked cream-topped almond croissant...Man, I can just look at them and picture what they taste like...but it's so much nicer to put in your mouth. The croissants overall are not as good as CCB's, but they're worth a try :) The service was nice; very smiley, but I was pretty animated as I browsed the selection. It was small, but quality. I'm looking forward to heading back! I love they have their own parking lot too! read more

Another Fuji Bakery? Yes! I followed them on Twitter when I heard the news and couldn't wait until they were open for business. The building itself is relatively unassuming and reminds me a bit of a factory outlet bread store. There is a small parking lot which is great because I'm not a fan of parking on such a busy street. This location is bigger than the one in the International District. Aside from the long, glass cases that showcase the fantastic yummies, they have a really great table. Yes, a table. There's a long, wood table that looks like it seats about 8 people and I love looking at it when I'm there. The staff members are friendly and helpful. They are patient with me in answering any questions I have. On this last visit, I grabbed the homemade orange dipped in Belgium chocolate. Thanks to Cynthia L. I'm hooked on these and honestly, I can't say how much I could eat. If they had an eating contest for these, I'd be in - carbs be damned! For $3, it's a slice of a smile that makes me feel like I had never tasted pastry before. The orange (and the rind is the best part) dipped in chocolate is something that I think everyone should experience at least once. I've had a number of other things like the vegan olive stick, croissants, and tons more of fruity, custardy topped goodies. All fantastic! read more

Oh hey yo! How do I always miss these awesome places near my neighborhood?! Finally remembered to make it over to the far right lane on Elliot and turn into the parking lot of Fuji bakery! Yay! Immediately greeted by two very happy and friendly men. I told them it was my first time in, and one of the guys got very excited about it. Everything in the cases looked delicious. I decided on the green tea melon pan, salmon brioche, and the guy behind the counter suggested I also try the crispy custard or crispy cream (can't remember the name :-p). I had just had breakfast with a gf, so I thought I'd save these yummy things for later... Nope. As soon as I got home, I decided to take just ONE bite of each pastry. About 20 bites later, everything was gone. So much for will power and being too "full". The Green tea melon pan was incredible. The green tea flavor was just right. It was soft, yet crispy and flavorful. The salmon brioche smelled sooooo good. The brioche was so buttery with a tad of sweetness to it. The salmon inside was a little salty, but it balanced the flavors of the brioche very well. My favorite was the crispy cream (thank you for the suggestion kind sir!). It was sweet but not overly so, it was chewy and the corn flakes were so crisp and delectable. The cream was smooth yet light. It definitely reminded me of malasadas at home... Mmmm. I'll be back again for sure... Not too often though, or I'll be making my own muffins... Around my waist that is. read more

Simply amazing - pastries are always on point, Ingren (sp?) was an especially attentive staff who provided excellent customer service. This is my go-to in the CID for coffee and pastries. I've never had a single negative experience here and the quality is excellent. read more

The fresh baked malasadas definitely live up to their reputation. If you like sweets and pastries you will definitely appreciate the malasadas. The crunchy cream one was my favorite. I was excited for the Lilikoi one but honestly it wasn't that amazing. The flavor didn't taste that passion fruity to me and it kind of clashed with the taste of the breading. read more

Their variety of malasadas are good to try if you're craving some. They also do cakes and have two locations to order goodies from.

SO TASTY!!! The staff were so nice and recommended the Crunchy Creme, Beef Curry, Egg Salad for my first visit.I would go back for the Beef Curry and Crunchy Creme in a heartbeat, but try something else other than the egg salad. It was pretty basic, but was super cheap. I will be bringing all my out of town visitors here!!! 10/10 read more

No matter whoever comes friends or family to visit me I bring them here or at least save a morning to try their malasadas for breakfast! I recently traveled in Maui and tried local malasadas from different places, trust me, no one was able to beat my favorite Fuji bakery yet! A must stop by when you are on the road! read more

Tasty pastries. My favorites that I've had so far include beef curry bun, malasadas, salmon brioche, azuki donut, bacon cheese braid but, I usually stop in after work when they are getting close to closing and typically running low on things. I like that they have a parking lot but it is pretty small. There is parking in the street out front but I think it becomes a bus only lane after 3pm. read more

You may be familiar with the super-popular Fuji bakery in ID. Well, this is the where their kitchen is and sometime last year, they added an outlet as well. Of course, all the pastries and sandwiches are amazing. Many of them have Japanese flair with flavors such green tea, red bean etc. They may not have the widest selection but it's big enough. I am not sure why people are complaining about it. Yes, they also run out of stuff towards the later part of the day and I'd rather run out than over-prepare, ending up selling the stuff next day or throwing it away. Never over-crowded, always smiling service. Seating and drip coffee available. Highly recommended. read more

Waited for months for this location to be finished. This is where they do there baking - definitely is a destination location - no walk by traffic at all. You can park on the street but better to park in the lot on the side. The inside storefront is very austere (?) but very clean. There were 2 people working when I stopped in - the girl was ok and the guy was busy on his cel phone (take it to the back). They don't have a lot of the items that they used to carry (boo..........) I got a curry bun $3 and it was awful (and I love curry) and a poire $3 was which was ok. Can't believe all the high ratings - they didn't have a very large selection when I was there and the staff obviously wanted to be anywhere but there, I also felt the prices were high for what you got.......... read more

If you haven't been, run! I stopped by in the late morning on a Saturday and they had lots of yummy treats including this delicious and gorgeous blackberry pastry that is making my mouth water just thinking about. Highly recommend their milk bread and ube malasadas as well!! read more

Fuji Bakery - Blackberry signature pastry - Bakeries Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I drive by this place all the time, but yet it's not convenient to anything. Coming here is always a special trip. Don't bother coming here mid/late afternoon though - almost everything is already sold out. Heck, some times when I've arrived late morning half the things were also already sold out. As I'm typing this, I'm also looking at their online menu and salivating. My absolute favorite here is the banana nutella croissant. I also really like all the malasadas. Choosing a favorite is tough though ... it's like choosing my favorite non-existant baby. Also tried their signature strawberry cake. It was light, fluffy, and oh, so strawberry. Would definitely get it again for a birthday cake instead of the usual affair that shows up at work. read more

I've been going back every week to get a sampling of their desserts and after 6 weeks I still haven't tried them all - they have a lot of options! I've focused on the sweet ones. I have to agree with most that the Crunchy Cream is as good described. Anything that has a creamy vanilla filling in it is most likely really good. I would say my favorites have also been the panna cotta and vanilla custard - they are all very creamy and smooth with out being too sweet or rich. The donuts are more my type than compared to most local donut shops because they tend to be light/fluffy and not too sweet. I would disagree with reviews that they taste like oil. They also carry a latte that has a nutty roasted flavor that is absolutely amazing and don't know of anyone else who carries it - that's also worth trying. I do have one thing I wasn't happy with on a visit, I had asked for a Katsu sandwich and to have it warmed up. It was placed on one of their plastic trays which looks like a small cafeteria type tray, wrapped in plastic wrap. I questioned whether it could be put on a paper or ceramic plate and I got a look like I was asking for the moon. Here's the info for Fuji employees on where I was coming from: https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/microwaving-food-in-plastic-dangerous-or-not read more

I stopped by on a Saturday morning while heading to Magnolia (located on the east side of the street). I like the fact that they have their own parking lot so you don't have to park on the street. The space looks pretty new, and the pastry case runs the legnth of the store. I ended up getting: Bacon epi: this was my favorite, which is a twisted bread roll with bacon in it (can't go wrong with bacon). Salmon brioche: this was just ok (salmon was dry). An apple and a pear tart: both pastries were good, not too sweet. Regular croissant: this was nice and flaky. I like the fact that the pastries have a Japanese touch to them, which makes them less sweet. If you are driving down Elliott Ave., Fuji is worth stopping by. read more

Great bakery! Beautiful selection. Horrible customer service! Felt rushed and the hostess was rolling her eyes when I tired to order items. Went to even check me out before I was even done ordering. Ruined the experience. Tasty looking treats! I will see if I want to try to go there again to see if I have a better experience or forget it all together. Too bad looks like a great place but the person who works there is turning off the customers! read more

This bakery is a Seattle gem. If your reading the this do VISIT. From the road this bakery gives off a factory food production vibe but step inside and you will be transported to a world of flavor. It's okay... just like the food rating. Everything looked good. I chose the plain malasaba, the lemon curd raspberry croissant and the egg salad sandwich. Having just become a big fan of Trés sandwiches, I wanted to try their egg salad. Bread gets a star. Great bread, soft but not soggy. The egg salad was too wet for me. Advertised as a soft boiled egg in the center was a hard 1/4 of a boiled egg. The textures were not jiving. I ate half and gave up. Wouldn't have it again. I would buy the bread and make a better sandwich. The plain malasada was nice, not sweet more like a bread puff with a sugar coating. Nice, not interesting enough to have again. The croissant was the best thing I had, the fillings of raspberry and lemon were really good. The croissant dough was nice but frankly overcooked to the point that it was a flaky brown mess. Tough and hard to cut in half. The ideas were good but not well executed. Other star was for the service, quick and efficient. The price as of 3/23 was $7.50 for a pretty underwhelming sandwich. I won't be back. Go try tres in Bellevue, see that review. read more

Cuteness Good food Freshly made affordable prices Will come back again when I visit

YES!!!!!! I love Asian bakeries. This location of Fuji isn't the biggest, but they sure have quite the selection of breads and pastries. They also have cutely decorated (chick and cat) macarons that are just wow. I'm very interested in their mochi donut, as well as sugar brioche, but I went with just getting a simple melon pan. Fuji has some interesting croissant choices such as a savory mushroom, as well as mango coconut. I also tried their matcha latte, which was one of the betters ones I've had. I'll be back! read more

Fuji Bakery is a French technique, japanese style pastry shop, and it is very similar to many shops I am used to back in Hawaii. The pastries are well made and tasty. The croissant will not let you down. Cake-wise, it is very Japanese style with a lot of cream and layered mousses rather than actual cakes. Think tiramisu. But good nonetheless if that's what you're craving. read more

Yum. Had a delicious corn flake cream donut. It was quite nice tasting. The staff was super friendly. Nice private parking lot. All in all a good experience. Price seemed a bit high for one small donut. But it was a treat. Not something you would eat everyday. I'll be back some day:) read more

Fuji is so freaking good, when people come to visit me from out of town this is the single must have food stop. Their croissants are amazing, the best I have ever eaten, the ham and cheese one is mind-blowingly good. The malasada's are soft, chewy, and creamy. So good. The beef curry malasada is simply wonderful as well. Just typing this out my mouth is watering and my stomach growling. Do yourself a flavor and try Fuji. read more

Picked this location because I thought parking would be easier and I was right! The small lot next to the building had a few spots open - always a plus when you are driving in the city. We tried the chocolate matcha croissant (yum!)and salmon brioche (not bad but not my favorite). And got the crunchy bun and ham & cheese pastry to-go. Heated them up in the over for a couple of minutes, amazing! Unfortunately the place only have regular coffee - no espresso drinks. But overall experience was great and the prices are totally reasonable - each around 3 bucks! Definitely will come back soon read more

Highly recommend! Not a huge selection as I went late in the day but some of the best pastries I've ever had. Danishes were amazing, thank goodness they were smaller, I was able to have two of different flavors. Will have to try cakes next time. Very friendly server/cashier. Only small sitting area and parking lot hard to get in/out of but well worth it! read more

Really great items at high quality here. The service is is also really outstanding, as they always seem so customer centric. Malasadas are great, and I wish they made more flavors like Purple colored Taro Malasadas I once tried in Hawaii, or maybe matcha green tea ones. The red bean bun is good and the red bean donut is even better. Im only sad they discontinued the matcha chocolate croissants that was the item I desired most. Only can give 5 stars if they bring those and maybe more matcha items back. That would bring me in much more often. read more

Always fun at this bakery with a Hawaiian touch. Always freshly baked items, friendly service and espresso to boot! Nice little inside sitting area. read more

The reasons I give this bakery three stars is for the reason of their pastries and their savior goods! I hands down will recommend you get the cat macaroons and the curry buns because the cat shaped desserts are one cute but also really great for a treat. If you aren't really in the mood for something super sweet then get the melon pan for it not super sweet but just enough that with some tea, It amazing. read more

Been waiting for months for construction to finish and the bakery to open. Finally, the 3rd of the Fuji Bakery (the other two are in international district and in bellevue) is open! Clean storefront with lots of open space. An interesting selection of pastries (see photos I uploaded). Picked up a pear poire and a custard bun. Both are definitely winners! The Poire was not too sweet, nicely glazed and crispy, fresh & flavorful. The custard bun had a crispy outer shell, the custard filling was light (not overly sweet nor overflowing like typical asian bakeries) and creamy. will have to return to sample more pastries! read more
