Surprisingly good. Friendly staff, nice decor inside, decent portions, taste and price. If your feeling Chinese food you should give this place a shot, you won't be dissapointed. My brother and I ordered (different) combination dinners, mine came with Mongolian beef, chowmein & sweet/sour pork, (wasn't too excited about the pork, but I'm not a big fan of many pork dishes,) for the most part was very tasty. Was surprising to me cuz from the outside looked like a typical Aurora building but the inside turned out to be very nice and spacious, with a good ambiance. This is a decent neighborhood American Chinese place. They have a smaller number - maybe 5% of their menu - of more "Chinese" chinese dishes for the "I-Hate-American-Chinese" crowd. But mostly you are here for the staples ... chop suey, egg fu young, general tso's chicken, beef with broccoli etc. If you are looking for a Shanghai or Manchurian treatment of duck feet - and neither Hong Kong style or Beijing style will do .... you will not be happy at Fu Shen. The manager is VERY friendly ... which is not exactly the rule at Chinese restaurants. Servings are enormous. Execution is quite strong. ((Make that execution is quite strong if you are willing to make recourse to the salt shaker. But in return for a second and a half of wrist action, you get some pretty good cooking.)) Egg Fu Young is particularly creditable and worthy of note. In standard American chinese restaurants of the ilk of "we are the lowest of the low - and we cook that way to boot" .... you get mushy eggs drowning in an ocean of oyster sauce, with whatever has been steaming all day in the kitchen to the point of being overcooked to death tossed in. in the standard places, the eggs are mush and tasteless, the filling is mush and tasteless, and you basically have scrambled eggs with oyster sauce. you would have been better off with catsup. Here, the eggs are crispy crunchy on the bottom - and firm and well textured throughout. the filling ingredients are very al dente and have substantial flavor. the flavors change as you move around the dish. (always a plus in my book). and the eggs and filling carry the taste - with the sauce being laid back and complementary. now frankly, i am the kind of guy who likes his regional chinese cuisine ... and huge menus with all the parts of the pig and strange things from the ocean that you can't get at safeway. and that is the kind of place that will get my five star reviews. but for neighborhood everyday chinese, fushen is completely fine. read more

This spot is wonderful. My partner and I ordered what seemed like half the menu an hour before closing and every single dish was absolutely delicious. The chicken wings were crispy and juicy, the house fried rice is buttery and flavorful, the broccoli beef is filled with perfectly cooked veggies and a simple sauce, the wonton soup had more wontons than broth which you never see, the long beans with garlic sauce (green beans) are perfect and the pork potstickers were served with a sauce that I ended up putting on everything. 01/07/2023: My order should have come to $56.70 with tax, based on the menu posted on the website. But when I picked up the food, they charged my card $79.80! The lady just handed me a credit card receipt with the total, not itemized. When I asked why, the lady said "Oh, because you know, prices go up!" I tried to explain that "bait-and-switch" is illegal, and that she needs to charge me the price advertised. She equivocated, gave me bland meaningless answers, said something about not having time to update the website, blah, blah, blah. It seemed she just wanted me to hurry and leave, and she told me absolutely nothing about why it's OK to advertise one price, but charge far more. Finally, asked for an itemized receipt, and after some more equivocating and confusion, she finally got it for me. Sure enough, the prices she charged me are between $3 and $5 more per item. Ordered take out for Xmas day night. Phones were jammed so drove over to place order--wait ended up being 90min; they called me when it was ready. Was happy they fit us in and prepared faster than they promised. Garlic Szechuan chicken was great. Only weak dish was the seafood chow fun, which we got not spicy because it was for our kids--seems like, there isn't much middle ground between spicy (flavorful) and not spicy (very bland), wish it was a little more flavored somehow instead of just dry-ish cooked noodles. read more

We went to Fu Shen on a Sunday night, went to dine in but decided to order take out, so we had the hot sour soup and a beer while the rest of our food was prepared and packed up. The place is kept very clean. The couple that owns and runs the place were sooo polite and sweet. The food was really good. We had pork fried rice, beef and broccoli, orange chicken, and hot and sour soup. It was really good. The orange chicken, they use real orange peel and honey, it was delicious. The fried rice was really, really good. And the beef was our favorite. Mind you, it is Americanized and it's not like super fancy bullshit. This is the food you order when your hungover, when it's raining and you want to eat Chinese food and watch Netflix, etc... food was really yummy, the portions were big, and the service was great. First time in and there were only 3 other groups of two there at 8pm on a Friday, so not very busy. The food was good, honey walnut prawns sauce was thick and flavorful. Home made chow mein noodles were thicker than I was expecting, but not as soft. The spicy garlic Szechuan chicken wasn't too spicy but I though that was a good thing. Real mom and pop restaurant, so the service was great. I'll be going back. Th grandkids of the server were playing in the other dining room (away from customers but still audible) and the server apologized for the noise or any disruption multiple times even though we weren't bothered. My boyfriend and I stopped into Fu Shen for dinner on Christmas and were blown away by how good the food was. Being from the east coast it's been really hard to find good American style Chinese food out here in Seattle, but Fu Shen totally exceeded our expectations. We ordered one of the family dinner combos (BBQ pork with beef and broccoli, and general gao's chicken), as well as pork egg rolls and chicken with cashews. Everything was fantastic, including the quality of the chicken and beef. The restaurant was insanely busy given the holiday, but the family running the place was so kind and apologetic about wait times, etc. We can't wait to come back on a normal day and try even more of their dishes. read more

I've ordered takeout from Fushen (via Postmates) three times now. While overall I'm a fan because they do pretty delicious food at unbeatable prices, after three orders I am disappointed in the lack of consistency. After my first order of chow mein, Mongolian beef, potstickers and green beans, I was completely sold. All delicious, and an insane amount of food for under $40. I ordered the same thing a few months later, and the beef was incredibly bland. I wasn't sure if I had built it up wrong in my head from before. Everything else was pretty much as I remembered. Last night I placed the same order and again was confused. The green beans were bland, and the chow mein showed up with a thin, dry noodle, which was a huge disappointment as the hand shaven noodles make the dish. But, the Mongolian beef was delicious and just as I remember it the first time. (The potstickers never disappoint. That chewy dough ) Will I try Fushen again? Absolutely. It's never horrible, just sometimes more impressive than others. But you have to go in knowing your go-to items might not taste like the last time you enjoyed them. Despite that, I'd still consider them my favorite Chinese restaurant north of the ID. read more

Sadly, 2 stars for food, 5 for everything else. I was surprised after so many good yelp reviews. I really, really wanted to like the food here because the service was so phenomenal, but I just couldn't. The lunch combo wasn't inedible but incredibly bland (nearly tasteless) and "basic" doesn't even cover it -- the fried rice had only a few pieces of pork and the chow mein had nothing beyond noodles. Almond fried chicken texture was ok, but again the flavor was lacking. Egg flower soup and BBQ pork were not good either. That said, the super friendly service, good price, and clean interior will probably encourage me to give it another go and order some of the other options people have raved about here. read more

I ordered to go Sunday night and found out during pickup that it was $12.5 instead of the expected $8.50 because they decided to make me the vegetable chow fun with additional tofu--not the dish I ordered. I asked the woman why and she gave me non-answers. Pretty shady and $4 for tofu is a lot. Also just looked at my bank statement and saw they charged me $12.80 instead of $12.50. I think Fu Shen may have become our go-to for Chinese takeout ... it's the best we've tried yet. Food tastes great, prices are reasonable, and the woman answering the phone / running the counter is super friendly. We've tried General Tso's chicken, Mongolian Beef, Beef Chow Mein (with homemade noodles). All taste great! As others have mentioned, the chow mein doesn't have a tremendous amount of flavor but it's a perfect side to another dish. read more

I'm so sad FuShen moved from Lake City Way to Aurora. I've had to cut back the number of times I go for the Wonton Soup and Chicken Chowmein. But I must admit, I do find the time. I've known Jenny (the main waitress) for several years now. They are all very friendly. Several times I have brought 6-8 friends and ordered a lot of food. They always bring more tea when you need it and are happy to pack up your leftovers. All the food is good, but my favorites (besides the two I mentioned above) are the Snow Peas and Chicken, Mongolian Beef, and their Egg Flower Soup. When I was a child my father and I used to come to the pizza place that used to be here (the House of Pizza and Pasta) for take out. When that closed, I remember being super sad that such a nostalgic restaurant was gone... I thought I'd never get over it, until I tried Fu Shen and decided they are worthy of this building and the good memories that go with it. My family comes here a lot (see Andrea S.'s review) and the people who run this place are awesome -- so friendly and helpful, they really go above and beyond for customer service. We hold a lot of large family events here (with 20+ people) and they are amazing and always remember us and are especially sweet to our grandmother. For health reasons, I'm supposed to avoid gluten and soy, which can make Chinese food nearly impossible. At Fu Shen they always go out of their way to make sure I end up with a flavorful meal that won't leave me sick -- usually the almond cranberry chicken, which is SO good... But I do really miss their honey walnut prawns. read more
