Took the family to a quick dinner here because the kids wanted to go. The food was pretty good and with generous portions. Good service with nice employees to help you out with anything you crave. Their milkshakes are so delicious especially the butterfinger one. Good soda on tap and a great location. The ambiance is a classic fast food restaurant with plenty of seating. Good size parking lot as well. Good burgers and side dishes.

    Double baccon burger?
    Mike M.

Wont be going back but they are Super friendly. The place is clean. They are fast with the order making. This place used to be my favorite but every since they changed the menu and raised prices the actual food is crap. Last time the salami was super dry so this time I went with a simple DOUBLE baccon burger and for $15 I was actually expecting some baccon. NOPE! There was literally one slice of baccon. Cheap baccon, super thin and stringy NOT going back anymore.

    5 onion rings, $7.50

$7.50 for an order of onion rings. These are frozen and dropped in to a fire. I thought maybe the first time was a mistake went back today, same thing... 5 onion rings. So that is more than a $1 per onion ring. It was absolutely insane and last time I go there

I have only been here a couple times and its always OK. This time I really just came for the fries, those were exactly what I wanted. I think the price to food value is a little off, the prices seem a little steep. I got the chicken sandwich, it was tasty but the chicken patty was so small it was dwarfed by the bun and trimmings. Wife had a burger and it was ok. We also got some chicken strips which were good, wife liked them more. I haven't tried more than this and the burger, not sure what everyone else gets, maybe I need to try more stuff?

    Taquitos, old fries

We went Frosty King this evening. Ordered hamburgers, chicken burgers, taquitos, chili, and fries. The hamburgers were really dry, and tastless. The taquitos were awful. The fries were not fresh. The only thing I could eat was the chili. My husband ate his chicken burger, but added his own condiments, to add taste. We paid 31.00 bucks for most of the order that went to the trash. This is the second time this has happened. We will not be returning to Frosty King.

Sadly the food and service has really took a turn for the worst. I've been coming here 20+ years as they're close to home. Everything is going up on prices and I don't mind paying it if the food shows it's value. Their prices went up significantly and food quality went down.

Tuesday, March 10th, we traveled to Bakersfield to pick up a vehicle I had purchased, and of course had to stop by Kohnen's. My wife and I split a Tuna and Cheddar Panini, and a loaded Turkey (we arrived too late for Sourdough!!). It is difficult to walk away without a mini-pie (try them all, but blackberry is freaking amazing!!). As always, Danelle was there with her typical congeniality and work ethic! We love her!! And I got to tell her about her doppelgänger in a restaurant in Yucaipa!! They do exist!! In summary, eat at Kohnen's!! Say hi to Danelle!

I visited Kohnen's Bakery Tehachapi yesterday with my family, and this was honestly one of the…read moreworst customer service experiences I've ever had. I only purchased two items -- one cream puff and one slice of cheesecake -- but the cashier charged my card THREE times due to repeated mistakes. Here's exactly what happened: 1) My first card (Card A) was charged $11.20. The cashier asked me if I wanted a receipt, and I said yes. Then she told me the receipt didn't come out because the transaction "didn't go through," and asked me to provide my card again. 2) I gave the same card again, and this time she charged $11.69. 3) Then again, she told me that it didn't go through, so I used a different debit card (Card B), which was charged $11.20. While sitting at the table with my family, I immediately checked my bank account and thought I had only been charged twice. I spoke to a staff member at the store and requested a refund for one of the $11.20 charges, which was processed. However, today I realized I had actually been charged three times, meaning there was still another $11.20 that needed to be refunded. So I called the bakery and asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with someone named Danielle. I calmly explained the entire situation and told her I would send all my receipts and bank transaction records by email so they could double-check and confirm everything. She said ok and gave me their email address, but it was very long, and I was concerned about making a mistake while writing it down. So I politely asked if she could text me the email address instead. Her response was extremely rude -- she said, "I'm not required to do that," and told me to just write it down myself if I had a pen and paper. Although I was already uncomfortable with her attitude, I carefully wrote it down and sent the email. However, the email bounced back as invalid, even though I had confirmed the spelling with her multiple times over the phone. When I called again, Danielle answered and said, "Ma'am," in a very dismissive tone, and told me that they had found the three charges and had already processed refunds for both $11.20 transactions. I tried to confirm which card the refund was going to, since I used two different cards, but after putting me on hold for a long time, she read off a card number that was not mine. When I told her that wasn't my card, she insisted those were the only transactions for $11.20 yesterday and told me to "check my bank in a few days" and call back if the refund doesn't show up. And, she didn't apologize for the mistake, even though they charged my cards three times and wasted a significant amount of my time. Even yesterday, when I asked for an apology, I only received one reluctantly after I pointed out that they had made a mistake -- and even then, the response was dismissive, as if I should just accept it because they were "taking care of it." The attitude throughout this entire situation was rude, unprofessional, and extremely frustrating. The cheesecake was very good. But because of this experience, I would never come back. We drove all the way from Los Angeles to Tehachapi with my family, expecting a pleasant visit, but this bakery completely ruined the day. Being charged a total of $34.09 for just two small items due to repeated errors is unacceptable. If your staff cannot properly process payments, they should not be working as cashiers. Situations like this should never happen. What's even worse is that after making multiple mistakes, there was not a single sincere apology -- only attitude, dismissiveness, and instructions for me to keep checking my bank and call back again. My time is valuable. This entire situation could have been avoided if things were handled properly from the beginning. This was an extremely unpleasant experience, and I am very disappointed. Cf) For reference, the other $16.05 receipt is for bread that my brother purchased.

They make pies (of course) as well as some other foods. Because I'm gluten-free and dairy-free, this limits me... but I'm SO happy they always have a safe pie I can buy. (And I have never had a gluten reaction to their GF items.) Their gluten-free dairy-free apple pie has been a bit bland for me. So I recently opted for their berry pie and WOW it did not disappoint! The berry pie was nice and flavorful!!! I bake as suggested by doing an egg wash on top, and that gives the top crust a really nice texture. I've also had their GF breads (because they sometimes have GF ones that are also dairy-free) and they are super yummy. The prices are a bit high, so I don't splurge too often. But I'm grateful there is safe pie for me when I really want it.

I've never had meat that tastes like this did. Then the lettuce was bright yellow. To be honest the best thing on the burger was the purple onion, and I HATE onion. Milk shake was super watery and bland. It taste like when someone tried to make a milk shake at home for the first time and blends ice cubes and milk with no sugar and thinks it's the same. It's not.... I literally took 3 drinks and thew the rest in the trash. The last photo is of what I threw away. I hate throwing away food but I couldn't bear to eat this stuff it was that bad. I had no idea how this place has any good reviews at all. This was hands down the worst meal I've had so far in life. Please save your money and stomach. Go to a gas station and you'll find better tasting food! Walking up I thought "hey this place seems a little rough around the edges they probably have great food!" As most small places that look like this do. I saw the water damaged windows, clacks in the walls and had hoped to find a jem but in fact found a turn. Not even a polled gold one just rotten and disgusting. The restroom was disgustingly filthy, had black marks all over it, I had to pee and ended up using my own hand sanitizer when I left because I didn't even want to touch the sink. There was black all over the sink, toilet was stained, all the devices covered in black marks. I'll never come back and warn you to do the same. I'm really sad to write this but I need to be honest. I hope they get some things fixed and learn how to treat customers one day.

After doing a quick Yelp search i found Red House BBQ. From the being to end the whole experience was great, we were greeted promptly and sat down just as fast. We opted to sit outside since it was a beautiful day with great weather. The patio and outside seating is huge, the inside is a bit smaller but still has plenty of seating and it's nice I love the decor. I went with the Tri Tip sandwich and added hot-links which was a great choice I also got a side of fries. The Tri Tip was well seasoned it had the crack peppercorn taste that I personally love. Served on a soft Brioche bun I believe. They give you 3 bbq sauces on the side to choose from Sweet and mild , mild and spicy all three were delicious. My wife and daughter went with the pulled pork sandwich which I tried an it was delicious, especially the little pieces of Bark. My wife had a side of Mac and cheese and my daughter a side salad. They said the Mac and cheese was delicious and so was the side salad it was fresh. They do have a small bar nothing big and offer beer, wine and some mixed drinks. Overall it was great experience and I say even better BBQ than most of the spots I've tried in Bakersfield. It's a shame it's about 45 mins away but I'll be definitely making the trip back soon to try something else on the menu.

Pulled pork, Mac n cheese, sliced Tri-tip. Very fresh and tasty, and large portions on the plate. The service was horrendous. It started with walking in and the waitress said "wait and have a seat". Wait and sit where? There was no easily identified waiting area. All the tables were full. Oh...across the room on the one empty seat at the bar. Glad I spotted it. We placed an order for onion rings as an appetizer while we reviewed the menu. Several minutes later we placed our entree order. Shortly after that our entrees came out, no appetizer. Five minutes after our entree arrived the appetizer showed up. I wanted my water refilled but we didn't see our waitress for 15mins, finally having to flag down another waitress to assist. Later I asked the manager to explain how the appetizer showed up long after our entrees, even though I placed the appetizer order first. She spoke so fast with a strong non-American accent that she was difficult to understand. I asked her to slow down because I didn't understand her, yet she continued to talk fast with her thick accent that I could only pick up bits and pieces. Something about fried food taking longer to cook than the already-prepared meat. I told her the service was disappointing. She said "okay" and told her waitress to fill my glass. And that was the end of the visit. I don't know who owns the place, but we did not receive a positive customer service experience, rather just getting lots of broken excuses. 2 stars for the food. Nothing for service and management.
