New ice cream shop in the old 31 flavors building. Delicious flavors. You can get smoothies, juices, sundaes and yummy ice cream. They don't have sugar free yet so I will wait patiently. Same owners as the yummy sandwich shop next door, smoke shop and frosty king. Glad to have another dessert place open in town.

Came here with my daughter and we had a great experience. One worker & I believe the manager working both were friendly. Great prices, we will be back.

Young girl improperly wearing mask. No gloves didn't wash her hands, very rude. I could tell she's never worked in customer service before.

Horrible experience on first visit. Staff was rude and immature. Weren't wearing masks or gloves to serve icecream. When asked to put mask on young girl got upset and was rude the whole time after. Never saw anyone washing their hands after handling money especially. Wouldn't give their names to report to management wouldn't give management names or owner names they said "they weren't allowed to give that information".

Mini marshmallow in soft serve, just $8!!!

Had not been there in a while. Like others have said no prices. Ordered two marshmallow shakes. Had these there a year ago and were tasty, made with marshmallow fluff. Was looking forward to it. Kid at register mumbled something I couldn't hear after ringing me up. But I handed him a twenty. He gave me $2 and change back!!. 18 bucks for two shakes! which I assumed were just one size due to their obscure menu, but he just assumed I wanted large rather than ask. So I get them and they are just soft serve with mini marshmallows inside, and the mix had off oldish flavor. What a waste of $18. Never again. This place can't hang on much longer.

Very good. Ordered the Açaí Bowl and was delicious. I would order this again for sure. For the price it was well worth the price.

Plan and simple the customer service lacks and they get smart with you over questions. Not worth it... go somewhere else.

Tuesday, March 10th, we traveled to Bakersfield to pick up a vehicle I had purchased, and of course had to stop by Kohnen's. My wife and I split a Tuna and Cheddar Panini, and a loaded Turkey (we arrived too late for Sourdough!!). It is difficult to walk away without a mini-pie (try them all, but blackberry is freaking amazing!!). As always, Danelle was there with her typical congeniality and work ethic! We love her!! And I got to tell her about her doppelgänger in a restaurant in Yucaipa!! They do exist!! In summary, eat at Kohnen's!! Say hi to Danelle!

I visited Kohnen's Bakery Tehachapi yesterday with my family, and this was honestly one of the…read moreworst customer service experiences I've ever had. I only purchased two items -- one cream puff and one slice of cheesecake -- but the cashier charged my card THREE times due to repeated mistakes. Here's exactly what happened: 1) My first card (Card A) was charged $11.20. The cashier asked me if I wanted a receipt, and I said yes. Then she told me the receipt didn't come out because the transaction "didn't go through," and asked me to provide my card again. 2) I gave the same card again, and this time she charged $11.69. 3) Then again, she told me that it didn't go through, so I used a different debit card (Card B), which was charged $11.20. While sitting at the table with my family, I immediately checked my bank account and thought I had only been charged twice. I spoke to a staff member at the store and requested a refund for one of the $11.20 charges, which was processed. However, today I realized I had actually been charged three times, meaning there was still another $11.20 that needed to be refunded. So I called the bakery and asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with someone named Danielle. I calmly explained the entire situation and told her I would send all my receipts and bank transaction records by email so they could double-check and confirm everything. She said ok and gave me their email address, but it was very long, and I was concerned about making a mistake while writing it down. So I politely asked if she could text me the email address instead. Her response was extremely rude -- she said, "I'm not required to do that," and told me to just write it down myself if I had a pen and paper. Although I was already uncomfortable with her attitude, I carefully wrote it down and sent the email. However, the email bounced back as invalid, even though I had confirmed the spelling with her multiple times over the phone. When I called again, Danielle answered and said, "Ma'am," in a very dismissive tone, and told me that they had found the three charges and had already processed refunds for both $11.20 transactions. I tried to confirm which card the refund was going to, since I used two different cards, but after putting me on hold for a long time, she read off a card number that was not mine. When I told her that wasn't my card, she insisted those were the only transactions for $11.20 yesterday and told me to "check my bank in a few days" and call back if the refund doesn't show up. And, she didn't apologize for the mistake, even though they charged my cards three times and wasted a significant amount of my time. Even yesterday, when I asked for an apology, I only received one reluctantly after I pointed out that they had made a mistake -- and even then, the response was dismissive, as if I should just accept it because they were "taking care of it." The attitude throughout this entire situation was rude, unprofessional, and extremely frustrating. The cheesecake was very good. But because of this experience, I would never come back. We drove all the way from Los Angeles to Tehachapi with my family, expecting a pleasant visit, but this bakery completely ruined the day. Being charged a total of $34.09 for just two small items due to repeated errors is unacceptable. If your staff cannot properly process payments, they should not be working as cashiers. Situations like this should never happen. What's even worse is that after making multiple mistakes, there was not a single sincere apology -- only attitude, dismissiveness, and instructions for me to keep checking my bank and call back again. My time is valuable. This entire situation could have been avoided if things were handled properly from the beginning. This was an extremely unpleasant experience, and I am very disappointed. Cf) For reference, the other $16.05 receipt is for bread that my brother purchased.

We left with at least three whole pies! And some single serving pie slices! And a wonderful gift from the owners! There were only seven of us, but, all of that pie got eaten. And they were delicious. Banana cream, pumpkin, peach, all were to die for. The shop features a beautifully arranged selection of teas and jams and gifts and sample trays. We love sample trays. This is half boutique and half pies/foods…read more The boutique is a nice shop to pick up something fun or a gift for someone else. I often pop in here for a hostess gift or thank you gift. They make pies (of course) as well as some other foods. Because I'm gluten-free and dairy-free, this limits me... but I'm SO happy they always have a safe pie I can buy. (And I have never had a gluten reaction to their GF items.) Their gluten-free dairy-free apple pie has been a bit bland for me. So I recently opted for their berry pie and WOW it did not disappoint! The berry pie was nice and flavorful!!! I bake as suggested by doing an egg wash on top, and that gives the top crust a really nice texture. I've also had their GF breads (because they sometimes have GF ones that are also dairy-free) and they are super yummy. The prices are a bit high, so I don't splurge too often. But I'm grateful there is safe pie for me when I really want it.
