Great food, massive servings but honestly ordering food from this place takes forever. Even if you call in an order they'll tell you it will be ready in 20, you come over and it'll be another 20-30 minutes of waiting again. Today we ordered and was told for our 4 items it would take 30 minutes but we ended up waiting over an hour. Smaller orders that were made after ours were ready before ours. By the 45 min mark we asked if ours was ready and they told us they were just about to start preparing it. Besides the service taking forever though the food is awesome down-home quality food. I tried the patty melt, fries and some onion rings. I loved my patty melt. They don't skimp on ingredients at all, cheesy all over, onions well grilled and plenty and the meat was nicely seasoned super tender angus beef. For 10.99, you really cannot go wrong with this combo. Unfortunately I did not get to take a photo since I was super hungry by the time we got our food. But yeah, don't come during peak mealtimes otherwise you'd be waiting forever. read more

Would love to see more plant based options. For those of us who don't eat animal, it's one option for ice cream and no options for quick meals. However the staff is great. The store brings back memories of an old mom and pop shop I went to as a child. read more

If you live or visit Bear Valley you know there is only one store where you can buy your supplies. Luckily, this country market has just about everything you might need, until you can make it into town. Each time I visit the area I stop in, customer service is always great. They talk to the customers like they know them all, they probably do. Very large selection of adult beverages, baking supplies, condiments, sandwich items, produce, fishing gear and one of the coolest things in the store is the milkshake and smoothie machine. You pick your flavor and put it in the machine where it blends it up. My great friends, Patrick and Bette, picked the mango smoothie and offered to share with me. Delicious! I look forward to the next time I visit Bear Valley and try out another flavor. read more

This little market in Bear Valley Springs carries a multitude of merchandise. If they do not have what you need at Bear Valley Country Market, then you will not find it anywhere in Bear Valley Springs. Considering they have no competition, prices are reasonable. They have this cool machine called Freal. It mixes up different flavors of milkshakes and smoothies. The mango is terrific. Bought me some lotto tickets, but I did not win. Service was friendly, and the store was well organized. If I lived in Bear Valley Springs, I would be a regular. read more

Absolutely the best small mountain town store ever! How can you beat having a country general store, a gas station and a great take out burger joint within a few steps of one another. The real secret to their success: Eddie and his crew never run out of Ben & Jerry's absolute non-debatable best ice cream flavor "Cherry Garcia" (yes Eddie this is big time subliminal) Without the Cherry Garcia this would be just another mountain town country store, gas station and burger joint all within a few steps from one another. Today while waiting in line to check out, the store clerk asked the person in front of me how they were doing since being diagnosed with covid. The store clerk had her mask around her chin.. The patron had no mask. The patron said I'm doing OK and the clerk says, but I thought you were supposed to die from it.. And laughed. Then a few more patrons later it was my turn. Since I was wearing a mask, she pulled hers up. Had no friendly comments to make.. No acknowledgement I even existed. Just stood there talking to others. At a time when we have 3500+ a day dying from covid, not wearing a mask and laughing about the severity of it is completely insensitive. I should not have been surprised since the owner is a trump supporter. I will no longer support antimasker and traitor establishments, even though the sign out front says Biden supporters are welcome. read more

I love our BV Country Market, very refreshing to enter a store that hasn't gone the with the fear tactics the government wants to force on you. Love this place, but it's the people that keep you coming! Eddie the owner and all of his staff are so friendly and always ready to help you out. They are all such great contributors and supports of the community. Yes at times it can happen but if you are not familiar with area we get snow and black ice out here so every now and then they might open a few minutes but it's okay as long as you make it down the mountain safely But I truly enjoy this community with the old country feeling. Everyone knows everyone by there name. Every says hello to each other. If you have a problem the community steps in and Eddie has a big heart a great representation of our nice and quant little community and it's a great reflection of BVS. Oh and if you come to the little grill here , OMG the Ortega burger is the boom!!! You gotta have it. Fries made crispy, anyway you like!! This is a pretty nice market, and they have almost anything you could possibly need. Its great to have a place to grab a gallon of milk, a loaf of bread or a half gallon of ice cream. The prices are a bit higher, but when you consider that Bear Valley is 20 minutes from town and it saves a drive, the trade off is worth it. One word about using a debit or credit card, watch what the clerks are charging. There is a sign at the counter that says they charge .75 for using a card. This is only legal when using a CREDIT CARD. It is not legal for a merchant to charge extra for using a debit card because debit is essentially the same as cash, where credit is not. (I have researched this to great lengths because of being charged on more than one occassion by an employee other than Eddie.) By my estimate, Eddie owes me a half gallon of Blue Bunny ice cream for all the extra .75 his employees have over charged me for using a debit card. As for his gas prices, its not fair to complain that Eddie charges too much. Much of what we pay for is the convenience of buying gas up here, it costs extra for the gas delivery. So if you have an issue with paying .60-.70 more for gas, make sure you gas up in town. read more

Cute little country store,they have a nice section of wines and beers they also make pretty decent Sandwiches at the att shed grille. Very friendly staff and very helpful. I'm excited I'm a part of this community and will be able to frequent the store. read more

I have to disagree completely with the crazy rant of one of the previous reviewers. I have no idea what nationality the owners of the store are, but the young woman that works there is smokin' hot, very friendly, and outgoing. If she's Syrian, then I'm in love with a Syrian woman. So be it. As for the "anti-American" comment, by Nick P......how anti-Americian could they be if they imigrated to America, own a store, and have employees. I think that's called Capitalism, and last I checked that was about as American as it gets. As to the prices, yes it's considerably more expensive than the chain grocery stores in town, but you're paying for the convenience of not having to drive to town to buy some random item you forgot to purchase. I would rather the extra money I pay for an item go to "mom and pop" style businesses, than rich corporations anyway. read more

This little market always seems to have what I need. I don't mind paying the extra cost for the great convience and they even carry our favorite brand of ice cream... Blue Bunny. We recently moved to BVS. We tried the market vs. driving into town. Ouch! I can somewhat deal with the bloated prices considering the location. But the slimy meat and spoiled cheese from the deli? Yikes. read more
