We celebrated my granddaughter's first birthday, and this is where we ordered our sandwich platters, and cupcakes along with a smash cake. Sarah in the bakery made the cake and the cupcakes. They were absolutely delicious. The deli made two pretzel assorted sandwiches platters, and we also got hoagie sandwiches. Everything was absolutely perfect. Nice Albertsons with a lot to offer. Nice wide aisles. Lots of specialty departments - like deli, floral, bakery, pharmacy, etc. they house a Starbucks inside. Scooters available. Plenty of parking. Only downside is their pricing. Yet they do have good quality and variety. read more

Oh my goodness I can only say the fish I got from the meat department was so unpleasant! Packaging in paper when the fish is frozen leaked and smelled up my refrigerator in only one day! I will never allow this to happen again! I have been rudely treated by this clerk multiple times! This customer is done. Not the normal butchers but newer to the counter! I get a lot of drive-up orders from here, and the workers are always so fast, efficient, and friendly. I really appreciate them. Also, if you sign up for the Albertsons for U free program, you really can save a ton of money. Some items are even priced better than at WalMart. And I enjoy shopping here because they have a great selection and the store is never super crowded. read more

Picked up a 50 pcs box of fried chicken, they just pulled it out of the oven and didn't let it rest (this let's the remaining juices drip out) So I opened a box of fried chicken soup, about a 1/2 gal of water So weeks later went back to get an 8 pics for a snack, got home same thing bag of fried chicken soup. Always had good quality and service at every Albertsons I've been in, overall the store is great just need to learn how to cook chicken. read more

The pharmacy is the worst in town. No matter what day or time you go in, the workers take absolutely forever per person. I gave the manager my friend's name, the receipt, and the order number. They refused to take back or exchange the items. The guy with a beard was rude too. Sad Thanksgiving.So not helpful. 3 cars that pulled up to the curbside pickup after I checked in received their orders before I did. Waited over 20 minutes and they brought my order out after all of the other vehicles left. I will be contacting Albertsons headquarters regarding the ongoing poor service and unprofessional treatment by their employees. I've never had a problem with any off the employee when shopping inside. It just appears to be the curbside pickup employees who are definitely not customer service savvy. read more

I didn't even think to write a review about the Albertson's in Tehachapi until I saw all of the negative comments and complaints regarding customer service. I moved to this area from Huntington Beach California recently and the experience here is other worldly different. The employees here are rude and disrespectful and self-centered. Often times, food on the shelf is expiring on the day you see it or within 48 hours and you have to dig to the back to find something that has a date stamp at least a week out. Recently my two year old son and I were in line at a register to checkout. We waited almost 20 minutes to get within three carts to the front when a heavyset blonde supervisor had a cashier open another checkout lane. The supervisor started ushering people from the BACK of the other lane to the front of the new one. Normally speaking you would ask the first few customers waiting in line if they would like to move over to the new aisle first and give them an opportunity to check out since they have already waited and done their time. When I addressed my concern with the supervisor, she very bluntly told me too bad and asked me if I had any other problems. People like her should be like you to have a job. The rest of the world unfortunately hast to live with it. As I recognize that a lot of people in the area are transplants from other large suburbs and cities, I can confidently state that she would have been written up or removed from her position that day in a city that would have other grocery stores in competition. read more

I have been reading other reviews and wonder if they are in some other universe. I don't remember ever getting a rude or unhelpful employee, although I expect everyone to have an off day sometimes. I have occasionally arrived at the cashier's desk with the wrong item, they immediately summon another employee who quickly runs into the store and replaces it. They do not always have enough room for what I consider to be staples, and may run out of common items, but still seem to have an excessive surplus of what I call Yuppie stuff. I am disabled, they help me to my car to unpack the electric cart and, last week, another employee raced out to the car park to bring the canes I had left behind when I moved them to make room for the bags of groceries. I see people complaining that they run out of sale items that have attracted them into the store, and call this a confidence trick. Whenever I have commented in the store, I have always been offered a rain check. I asked the butcher this week about some of the meat, he rushed out of the back and came back out with some extra packages that he thought would suit my needs better. He is always helpful, that wasn't the first time. But whenever I cannot find anything, I haven't ever had any employee reluctant to direct me or help me find it. I think my biggest complaint is that, on some items, you need to watch the sell by date. It seems that maybe the shelf restock staff are a little relapse sometimes, but probably minimum wage and a thankless job. We have tried the other stores, sometimes buy a few items at Walmart (the Croissants are usually fresher there) or Save Mart, but overall we keep returning to Albertsons. Some things may be dearer, others cheaper, but even on a pension I haven't enough energy to multi shop to save a buck. I always try to be pleasant and polite to the employees at stores, I think it is probable that some customers get their bad tempers reflected back to them and then blame the staff. read more

Normally, we don't shop at Albertsons grocery stores. Being that we were staying in Tehachapi, though, we found this particular Albertsons to be convenient. Found everything we needed plus a little bit more. Service was good and the store was neat and orderly. read more

Pros- great produce selection and their online coupon system finds good deals Cons- their grocery pickup service is subpar when it comes to locating substitutions and therefore avoiding out of stock items. I've done this 6 times and have needed to go into the store myself to locate "out of stock" items that that could have easily been subbed, even for something a little out of the box. I just ask- make an attempt, act like your care that a family is giving you their business and they're trying to simply eat. read more

Crazy prices for the shelves being lined with mostly junk. Had some decent checkout folks but some just nasty and aloof, or complaining of whatever ailment is on 'em at the moment. Low grade. Can't imagine how much of their prepared foods and such go to waste. Wine is expensive though we are grateful they got some European wines. Of course we're lucky to have places full of food for us. I will say their organic produce is decently priced and decent quality. Hopefully our food supply will continue to flow. Oh ya and these guys pimp hard for the current EUA clot shot vaccines. Everyone should create an account with Albertson's -- go ahead get the app. app has digital coupons shop the 5 for 5 mix and match shopping trips get you rewards FREE eggs etc you pick what you need based on reward If a digital coupon doesn't come off (this has happened to me) check your receipt before you go and customer service will reimburse you. Staff is always super helpful and cashiers are extremely friendly. Makes me sad that some reviews say otherwise I come here once a week. read more

I get that we are in difficult times and uncharted waters during this COVID-19 fiasco. But when my mom goes to Albertson's in Tehachapi and is yelled at for her bags from over 40 feet away by an employee leads me to the conclusion that our grocery workers are not putting on smiles if that is how they treat a 70 year old woman. Rest assured, after having shopped at the Albertson's since they opened in the 90's and after Wal-Mart opened, they have lost our business for once and for all after this mess. I always use the drive up and go app, and it pretty much sucks. They are always out of stock for at least some of the things I order, and their portable EBT device never works, so people like me who always pay with an EBT card always have to go into the store just to pay for the groceries. Also, I've noticed a lot of times, the employees seem like they're always in a bad mood, even if I'm very nice and polite to them and smile at them, they still give me stink eye! They just seem very standoffish, and miserable with their jobs! It's just extremely frustrating to me. I also wish they could get their act together to get the EBT device to work every time. Been living here almost four years and here's the bottom lines on this joint: 1. Surly cashiers. Seems they really hate seniors; the wife and I are 68. 2. Butchers are jerks. One yelled into my wife's face and I was happy to catch some punk treating her like that. He was a little too fit and looked like a felon so I didn't threaten to whip his rear end, so we went to the manager. 3. The register screens are confusing, almost impossible to tell what you're being charged. I questioned why the screens aren't more straightforward and the cashier angrily snapped "You think we're trying to scam you!?" Project much, honey? 4. The cashiers rush you at the counter, and did I mention they hate old people and snarl? 5. Stay away from the prepared chicken in the deli. The kids and stockers are nice, however. But those cashiers and the meat people, whew. This is what happens when there's no competition; nearest comparable grocery store is 20 miles across barren desert, or 40 miles to Bakersfield. The only thing i would say is BRING YOUR MEMBERS CARD, and if you don't have one, tell them to let you swipe one and you'll fill out the info next time haha. I call and they answer "yes" sounding annoyed. I had to ask "Is this Albertsons?" As they said yes it is. Sheesh thought I called a personal number with the way the phone was answered. Then I went to customer service a super sweet lady was working there had to ask the manager for money and the manager was so rude! I was shocked and disappointed! Worst service ever! When you walk up to a Starbucks, the last thing you want to see is a Barista turn their backs (yes, there were two) and ignore you. I had better service getting back into my car and driving down the street to a real Starbucks and sitting in line in the drive through. I think that Albertson wasted their time and money at this location. So this is a decent enough grocery store. Given that there are basically two choices in all of Tehachapi to choose from, I can honestly state that this joint rates in the top two. For the most part it is clean-ish and the staff is friendly enough. They seem to be more friendly to people to they they know vs the average Joe. I went to Albertson's quickly yesterday to pick up more items for the 4th of July. I found out that they are finally allowing your own recyclable bags into the store, and they are "asking" everyone to wear masks. About 75% of the shoppers were wearing masks in my estimation. However, they did NOT inform me that you cannot put these bags on the checkout conveyor counter, nor can you put your bag at the end of the counter or the shelf where bags are placed by the bagger. ALSO customers have to bag their own groceries. I'm a 69 year old senior and have back problems so this is ridiculous and I said so. I asked the checker whether they sanitize the counter after each customer, they said no, maybe after 'several' customers. I said that should be enough if you are sanitizing your hands! She said "Those are the rules". I said that's a ridiculous rule if you aren't requiring everyone to wear masks! About 90% of COVID-19 viral infections are caused MOSTLY by people sneezing, coughing or even just talking. Therefore, instead of worrying about the sterilization of their counters, they should be REQUIRING the wearing of masks! I argued this point with one of the managers, but this landed on deaf ears. Wake up Alberston's and institute some real precautions while assisting elder customers, and helping the environment by not putting so much plastic into the waste stream! read more

Be prepared to stand in line a long time at this store. It seems not matter what day/time there is always a huge line and it takes forever to get out of there. The prices are so inflated it is ridiculous. The only time it is financially a smart decision to go there is when they have sales/coupons. However, like any typical bait and switch, the sale items are often not in stock and like me, you'll be standing in another line to get a rain check. I also found you have to watch the prices of items as they scan. On more than a few occasions, they advertised price does not ring up. For example, they had steamed frozen veggies with a coupon 2/$1. I normally dont buy them but at that price, I did. I got home and saw I was charged $3.89 for one and 2.79 for the other, not quite the $1 advertisied. read more

I love the sales here. Look at the weekly sales obviously, but also look into downloading the app because of the app exclusive deals.

The place has a bad habit of ripping off customers - intentionally. They get you in the door with scam discount "traps" like the 5 for 5 and other tricks, and either you mess up getting one of the 5 items not exactly the size, flavor, etc just right, so you end up buying all 5 items at the regular price, which is always overpriced at Albertsons. That is just one of their many tricks to rip customers off. Today I had a raincheck for ribs at 99 cents per pound and they also had a 30% off now sticker on them, so the checker pretended to figure out the price on her phone calculator and punched in price that was 3x what it should have been and charged us for it. After spending 20 minutes trying to figure out the mess they give you for a receipt, that has very little details of your purchase on it so you have no idea what they charged you for, I figured out she charged me 3x the price she should have. It was the most basic math 99 cents x 6.12 lbs = $6.06 (x .30 = 1.82). 6.06 - 1.82 = $4.24. She rang it up as $12.46 and $8.46 instead. To get my money back I had to wait another 20 minutes at the help desk where that worker didn't know how to figure it out so I had to help her. I estimate that around one out of three times I find errors on my receipt from this store, in favor of the store, but usually refuse to stand around and spend this much time to get my money back. I know most people have no clue they have been ripped off by this store, I just happened to have a mind that calculates pretty fast and well, so I usually noice when something is wrong and am able to find it after having to study the receipt. read more

This store is amazing all around. They have a huge selection of different foods; pretty much anything you can think of and it's usually decently priced with a lot of different sales going on here and there. My boyfriend and I have been switching to organic and they offer quite a large selection of choices that are really delicious. The fresh deli, fruits/vegetables, and meat section are always clean and truly fresh every time I go there and makes me want to buy more because of how good all the food looks. The customer service and employees are always friendly and helpful when trying to find items. Some know us by name practically now since we see them working and will stop to chit chat with them for a little about random topics. Of course almost all the time you'll be waiting in a line here except for self checkout which is fast if you figured out how to avoid any problems. A see many people complain about the long lines, but personally the long lines mean that the store is very much liked and has a lot of customers which is a positive for me. Overall, and amazing store in my opinion. read more
