Every time I needed help getting the meat I wanted that were on sale, they always accommodated. This time I got very well-trimmed flank steak, which is excellent for Chinese stir frying, for only $8.99 a pound, much cheaper than even Costco. I really like this supermarket.

With all my health things going on the two surgeries, the cancer, all I could think of was the crispy chicken strips. I miss them in the last couple months. It sounds silly, but couldn't wait to get them, so I called and I spoke to Cherie. I think she may be the manager of that department. I told her the situation probably more than she needed to know, but I was telling her I wanted to order them so they'd be fresh when my daughter picked them up. Cherie had nothing but the most wonderful, comforting words that she could say to me. She honestly made me feel like she really cared. When my daughter picked up the chicken strips for me, there was the sweetest note written on the bag. This is a perfect example of going above and beyond and making customers feel cared about. I admit I'm very emotional at this time in my life, and I read that and started crying. What may have seem like a small gesture on her part actually was huge in my world. I can't wait until I can drive again and I am healed so I can personally go in and thank her. I did call her, and I also called corporate office to tell them about the note and how she made me feel. When I pulled into the parking lot there was a jeep parked out front with 4 loud teenagers in it and made me feel really uncomfortable just beig there especially hearing their foul language from a good distance. So I hurried in, only needing a can of dogfood until I can get to the store to buy what I regularly get. The store looks decently organized and the shelves look neat but the floor felt really dirty like it's not regularly cleaned, though the shelves are neat, they are reallllllllly dusty. Seems like everything in this store has a fine layer of dust on it or might be expired. The man who rang me up was decently friendly and I was out pretty quick. Not sure if if regularly shop here but in a pinch, I guess it's okay.

The owner Ilda Vaja is so passionate about it she calls it a very expensive hobby. And I can't imagine what it takes to plant, care for, produce and bottle the wine every year. She was the sole managing person here this particular Friday and man was it such a fun conversation we had. We learned a lot about Tehachapi and how she started it and it is just heart warming to hear the story. She's also the first one to plant and produce a very good Malbec. The tasting consisted of a rosé, Cabernet, Merlot and Malbec. She served this with cheese, crackers and local chocolates! The ranch also has AirBNB rooms so be sure to check out her website for availability. Women owned, local and full of love. You can taste that in the product. During this weekend trip, I also visited 2 other wineries but I can tell you hands down, this was an absolutely memorable stop. I highly recommend stopping by here if you're passing by. I promise you the wine is great, the views and the person behind this winery are phenomenal. We ended up taking home 5 wines. During the week make an appointment. But weekends you can just stop by.
