A great selection of things - it's like the lesser expensive version of Whole Foods (a store in San Jose - where I'm from), I love how they have a cafe inside that makes fresh sandwich & salads. Every time I come to the whole Wheatry I get treated very nicely. The service is excellent. The food in the store is very clean and the people are so nice. I wish they advertise a lot more. I guess if they did then everything would probably change so I'm glad they don't advertise actually I hope it just stays a little secret only me and you know that's probably selfish. But so what there's not many stores that you can feel on harassed and the people are nice and they look like they seem to love their job and you go in and get your stuff and talk to the people and they are nice and you leave happy and excited about cooking the food or the products that you just got. Such a shame the cafe has closed. They eliminated almost all of the menu as well. This was one of our favorite places to eat.

My family and I have been going here for years. We see familiar faces and not so familiar faces. But I always love going in- no matter how long it's been- and getting their carrot float. It's my childhood in a cup and it's my favorite thing about the place. On top of this the look feels like coming home to your grandmas once you get inside. I love this place. The workers are typically patient. On 6/5/25 I purchased something at store. I tried couple of times to put my phone number on the terminal #1 machine for Loyal Program to earn rewards but it showed "not found". the cashier lady did not say hi to me at the beginning also ignore me for the failure input my phone number and started checking out the next customer . I don't eat healthy in any way, shape or form, but this place was awesome!!! My mother-in-law took me here this afternoon because she had to grab some vitamins. This place was just like a Trader Joe's without all the nonsense and crowds of Trader Joe's. This place had everything organic, everything gluten-free, everything as raw as God created it here. They had everything from meats, dairy, fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen dinners and snacks, desserts, wines, beers, chips, spices, and vitamins as well. I took advantage of their fresh juice bar... They have different options of smoothies, raw juices and milkshakes- with coconut milk or almond milk, for those of you who are lactose intolerant, but they have regular milk as well for your base. There's good...and bad. I stopped by this store while traveling through the state. First, let's talk about the good! This store has an amazing selection! Everything you could possibly dream about in a health food store, they've got it! The layout of the store is great! The merchandising is way above average. The entire retail space was well thought out, well laid out, and unique. It has a very homey feel. It doesn't look like your boring old regular health food store. I found the entire space visually pleasing! The grab and go food section was amazing. We ate at the restaurant and it was good food. The smoothie was very good! Now the bad. Customer service. There were a lot of emoyees working. There were at least 9 that I saw, (and who saw me!) Out of those 9, ONE young man said hello. No one else in the entire store greeted us, smiled at us, asked us if they could help us, or acknowledged our existence, and I walked every isle. It was a very UNWELCOMING environment. Perhaps the products are so in demand or they are the only gig in town, so they don't put any emphasis on this area. For me, that's more important than anything else. I care how I'm treated and how I'm made to feel. I'm spending my money there, after all. This store itself is fantastic. It could be SUPER FANTASTIC, if they put effort into customers. Sadly all the produce tasted of incense or some other sorry of hippie scent. The packaging all reeked of it too. I guess I would have known better if I weren't wearing an N 99 mask because of Covid. Pro tips steer clear of one of the girls that makes the juices. I usually come here for press juice the Asian or Hispanic girl with black hair made my drink wrong. It had way too much ginger super spicy burn my throat to drink and chunks of vegetables still when I asked for a little lime juice to fix it. I was charged in order to do so. We haven't ordered those in six months! I said that wasn't true that I bought a bottle 2/3 weeks ago. She had the audacity to tell me that I was wrong, there was no way!" I have been to The Whole Wheatery (Cafe area) two times within the last year or so. My first visit, the service was slow despite the fact that only half of the seating area was in use. I brushed it off as simply poor service. Unfortunately, I ordered something a little too adventurous and didn't 100% enjoy what I ordered. That was on me! Today was my second visit. I was in a party of five. We arrived around 11:38 AM to a relatively busy day. Of course, the party I was in was sympathetic and tried to be patient. We chatted, enjoying our time, before I noticed the waitress servicing the tables around us. I noticed workers buzzing around before but didn't notice if it was her or not. I waited for her to turn to the center tables, where my group was, and... she turned to one center table before rushing towards the cashier area. She completely ignored our party. Okay, I thought. It's busy. The second time she came around, she ignored us again. The third time, one friend managed to get the waitress' attention and ask if we could order. The waitress said of course and explained how busy it was. We ordered. We continued chatting. Shortly after ordering, a waitress from the juice bar approached our Caucasian friend and asked if she ordered a power shake. She timidly denied while my African American friend politely said she had ordered the shake. The waitress' next actions were so sudden and uncalled for. She rolled her eyes at the African American friend before tossing the shake towards her general area and storming off. My friend was speechless, just looking at her shake like she didn't know if she should say that was rude or not. Of course, what she'd just experienced was BEYOND rude; it was extremely disrespectful. We tried to move past it so continued with random chit chat. Suddenly, someone noticed it was 12:25 PM. We looked around us and saw that nearly every table had been served food but us, including tables seated well after we arrived. We flagged down the waitress once more to request for our items be made to-go. As another 20 minutes rolled by, other tables were still being serviced. By the time we decided to leave, it was 12:46 PM. We were on lunch break and time, for us, was past up. We cancelled our orders and paid for what we got. You'd think it'd end there. Of course not. On the way out, a woman offered free pretzels to two friends who'd fallen behind. When the darker of the two turned to thank the woman but decline, the woman threw the bags of pretzels at her face before she could even speak. I didn't realize samples were thrown at people nowadays. In review, three separate employees of The Whole Wheatery acted with disrespect and total lack of professionalism. Professionalism includes impartiality and honestly. If you can't be honest, you'd better be a clever liar. The employees at The Whole Wheatery are neither. We were repeatedly told how busy it was. That excuse only really works when other tables are equally not receiving service. It's clear that the employees believed our party did not belong. I don't believe I will be visiting this grocery store or cafe again nor will I be recommending this company to any friends, family, or coworkers--minority or not.
